Exodus 11
1 Then said Yahweh unto Moses—Yet one plague, will I bring in upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt, after that, he will let you go from hence, —when he doth let you go, he will, altogether drive, you out from hence.
“Još ću samo jednom nedaćom udariti faraona i Egipat”, reče Jahve Mojsiju. “Poslije toga pustit će vas odavde. I više: sam će vas odavde potjerati.
2 Speak, I pray you, in the ears of the people, —and let them ask—every man of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, articles of silver and articles of gold.
Kaži svijetu neka svaki čovjek ište od svoga susjeda i svaka žena od svoje susjede srebrnih i zlatnih dragocjenosti.”
3 And Yahweh gave the people favour, in the eyes of the Egyptians, —even the man Moses himself, was exceeding great in the land of Egypt, —in the eyes of Pharaoh’s servants and in the eyes of the people.
Jahve učini te Egipćani bijahu naklonjeni narodu. Sam Mojsije postane vrlo uvažen u egipatskoj zemlji, u očima faraonovih službenika i u očima naroda.
4 And Moses said, Thus saith Yahweh, —About midnight, am, I, going forth in the midst of Egypt;
A onda Mojsije navijesti: “Ovako poručuje Jahve: 'O ponoći proći ću Egiptom.
5 then shall every firstborn in the land of Egypt die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who is sitting on his throne, unto the firstborn of the handmaid who is behind the two millstones, —and every firstborn of beasts;
Svaki će prvorođenac u egipatskoj zemlji umrijeti, od prvorođenca faraonova, koji bi imao sjediti na njegovu prijestolju, do prvorođenca ropkinje koja se nalazi uz mlinski kamen; a uginut će i sve prvine od stoke.
6 then shall there be a great outcry, in all the land of Egypt, —such, as never was and, such, as shall not be again.
U svoj će zemlji egipatskoj nastati veliki jauk, kakva nije bilo niti će kad poslije biti.
7 But against none of the sons of Israel, shall a dog sharpen his tongue, neither against man nor beast, —that ye may know that Yahweh maketh a difference between Egypt and Israel.
Među Izraelcima ni pas neće zalajati na živo stvorenje: ni na čovjeka ni na životinju.' Po tome ćete znati da Jahve luči Izraelca od Egipćanina.
8 So shall all these thy servants come down unto me and bow themselves down to me saying—Go forth, thou and all the people who are in thy footsteps, and after that, will I go forth. And he went forth from Pharaoh, in a heat of anger.
Onda će svi ovi tvoji dvorani k meni doći, preda me se baciti i vikati: Nosi se i ti i sav puk koji za tobom ide! Poslije toga ću otići.” I gnjevan ode od faraona.
9 And Yahweh had said unto Moses, Pharaoh will not hearken unto you, —that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
“Neće vas faraon poslušati”, reče Jahve Mojsiju, “a to da bi se umnožila moja znamenja u zemlji egipatskoj.”
10 So then, Moses and Aaron, did all these wonders before Pharaoh, —but Yahweh let Pharaoh’s heart wax bold, and he did not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.
Mojsije i Aron izveli su sva ta znamenja pred faraonom, ali je Jahve okorio srce faraonu, tako te on nije puštao Izraelaca da odu iz njegove zemlje.
