Esther 2
1 After these things, when the wrath of King Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her.
Human niini nga mga butang, sa dihang nahupay na ang kasuko ni Haring Ahasuerus, naghunahuna siya mahitungod kang Vasti ug kung unsa ang iyang nabuhat. Naghunahuna usab siya mahitungod sa sugo nga iyang gihimo batok kaniya.
2 Then said the young men of the king, who waited upon him, —Let them seek out for the king young virgins, of pleasing appearance;
Unya miingon ang batan-ong mga lalaki sa hari nga nag-alagad kaniya, “Pagpangita ug maanyag nga mga batan-ong ulay nga babaye sa ngalan sa hari.
3 and let the king appoint officers throughout all the provinces of his kingdom, and let them gather together every young virgin of pleasing appearance unto Shusan the palace, unto the house of the women, into the custody of Hegai eunuch of the king, keeper of the women, and let there be given the things needed for their purification;

4 and, the maiden that is pleasing in the eyes of the king, let her be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing seemed good in the eyes of the king, and he did so.

5 A certain Jew, there was, in Shusan the palace, —whose, name, was Mordecai, son of Jair, son of Shimei, son of Kish, a man of Benjamin;
Adunay usa ka Judio sa salipdanan sa Susa nga ginganlan ug Mordecai ang anak nga lalaki ni Jair nga anak nga lalaki ni Shimei nga anak nga lalaki ni Kis, nga taga-Benjamin.
6 who had been exiled from Jerusalem, with the exiles who were carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, —whom, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, exiled.
Gidala siya palayo gikan sa Jerusalem uban ang mga binihag niadtong gidala uban kang Jehoyakin, nga hari sa Juda, nga gidala ni Nebucadnezar nga hari sa Babilonia.
7 And it came to pass, that he was bringing up Hadassah, the same, was Esther, his uncle’s daughter, for she had neither father nor mother, —and, the maiden, was of beautiful form and pleasing appearance, and when her father and mother died, Mordecai took her for his own daughter.
Nag-atiman siya kang Hadasa, nga mao si, Ester, anak nga babaye sa iyang uyoan, tungod kay wala na siyay amahan ug inahan. Adunay maanyag nga pamarog ug matahom nga panagway ang batan-ong babaye. Giatiman siya ni Mordecai ingon nga iyang kaugalingong anak nga babaye.
8 So it came to pass, when the king’s command and decree was heard, and there had been gathered together many maidens unto Shusan the palace, unto the custody of Hegai, that Esther was taken into the house of the king, unto the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women;
Sa dihang gimantala ang mando ug kasugoan sa hari, daghang batan-ong mga babaye ang gidala ngadto sa salipdanan sa Susa. Gibutang sila ubos sa pag-atiman ni Hegay. Gidala usab si Ester ngadto sa palasyo sa hari ug gibutang ilalom sa pag-atiman ni Hegay, ang tigbantay sa kababayen-an.
9 and the maiden was pleasing in his eyes, and she received lovingkindness before him, and he hastened to give her, the things needed for her purification, and things apportioned her, and to give her, seven select maidens, out of the house of the king, —and he removed her and her maidens to the best place in the house of the women.
Nakapahimuot kaniya ang batan-ong babaye, ug nakaangkon siya ug pabor ngadto kaniya. Dihadiha dayon gihatagan niya siya ug mga gamit pangpaanyag ug bahin niya nga pagkaon. Nagpatagana siya ug pito niya ka sulugoon nga mga babaye gikan sa palasyo sa hari, ug gidala niya siya ug ang sulugoong mga babaye didto sa labing maayo nga dapit sa balay sa kababayen-an.
10 Esther had not told of her people, nor of her kindred, —for, Mordecai, had laid charge upon her, that she should not tell.
Wala misugilon si Ester kang bisan kinsa sa iyang katawhan o mga paryenti, kay gitudloan man siya ni Mordecai nga dili siya magsulti.
11 And, throughout every day, Mordecai, used to walk to and fro, before the court of the house of the women, —to get to know the welfare of Esther, and what would be done with her.
Matag adlaw nagalakaw paadto ug pabalik si Mordecai atubangan sa gawas sa hawanan sa balay sa kababayen-an, aron masayod mahitungod sa kahimtang ni Ester, ug mahitungod kung unsa ang nahitabo kaniya.
12 Now, when the turn of each maiden came, to go in unto King Ahasuerus, after it had been done to her according to the law of the women for twelve months, for, so, were filled the days of their purification, —six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes, and with things for the purification of the women,
Sa dihang moatubang na ang matag babaye ngadto kang Haring Ahasuerus— sa pagtuman sa mga patakaran alang sa kababayen-an, matag babaye adunay napulog duha ka bulan aron sa pagpaanyag sa hingpit, unom ka bulan uban sa lana sa mira, ug unom ka bulan uban sa mga pahumot ug mga gamit pangpaanyag—
13 then, indeed, the maiden came in unto the king, —whatsoever she might mention, was given her, to go with her, out of the house of the women up to the house of the king:
sa dihang miadto ang batan-ong babaye sa hari, ang bisan unsa nga iyang gitinguha gihatag ngadto kaniya gikan sa balay sa kababayen-an, aron pagadad-on niya didto sa palasyo.
14 in the evening, she went in, and, in the morning, she returned—unto the second house of the women, unto the custody of Shaashgaz the king’s eunuch, who kept the concubines, —she went not in again unto the king, except the king delighted in her, and she were called by name.
Sa gabii moadto siya sa palasyo ug sa pagkabuntag mobalik siya didto sa ikaduhang balay sa kababayen-an, ug didto sa pagbantay ni Shaashgaz, ang opisyal sa hari, nga nagbantay sa mga kabit. Dili siya mobalik pag-usab ngadto sa hari gawas kung gikahimut-an siya pag-ayo sa hari ug tawgon siya pag-usab.
15 But, when the turn came for Esther daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai—who had taken her as his own daughter—to go in unto the king, she requested nothing, save what Hegai the king’s eunuch who kept the women might direct, —but so it was, that Esther obtained favour in the eyes of all who beheld her.
Karon sa dihang miabot na ang panahon alang kang Ester (anak nga babaye ni Abihail, ang uyoan ni Mordecai, nga nag-atiman kaniya ingon nga iyang kaugalingong anak nga babaye) aron moadto sa hari, wala siya nangayo alang sa bisan unsa nga mga butang apan kung unsa ang gitudlo ni Hegay ang opisyal sa hari, nga tig-atiman sa kababayen-an. 16 So then Esther was taken unto King Ahasuerus, into his royal house, in the tenth month, the same, was the month Tebeth, —in the seventh year of his reign.
Gidala si Ester ngadto kang Haring Ahasuerus didto sa harianong puloy-anan sa ikanapulo nga bulan, nga bulan sa Tebet, sa ikapito nga tuig sa iyang paghari.
17 And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained favour and lovingkindness before him, above all the virgins, —so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen, instead of Vashti.
Gihigugma si Ester sa hari labaw sa tanang mga babaye ug nakapahimuot siya pag-ayo sa hari ug nadawat ang pabor sa iyang atubangan, labaw sa tanang mga ulay. Busa gikoronahan niya siya ug harianong korona ug gihimo siya nga rayna puli kang Vasti.
18 Then the king made a great banquet, for all his rulers and his servants, the banquet of Esther, —and, a remission, for all the provinces, made he, and gave a present, according to the bounty of a king.
Naghimo ang hari ug dakong kombira alang sa tanang mga opisyal ug sa iyang mga sulugoon, “Kombira ni Ester”, ug wala niya gipabuhis ang mga probinsya. Naghatag usab siya ug mga gasa uban sa harianong pagkamanggihatagon.
19 Now, when virgins were gathered together second time, then, Mordecai, was sitting in the gate of the king.
Karon sa dihang nagkatigom ang mga ulay sa ikaduha nga higayon, naglingkod si Mordecai didto sa ganghaan sa hari.
20 Esther had not told of her kindred, nor her people, as, Mordecai, had laid charge upon her, —and, the command of Mordecai, Esther performed, like as when she was being brought up with him.
Wala pay tawo nga gisultihan ni Ester mahitungod sa iyang mga paryenti o iyang katawhan, sumala sa gitudlo ni Mordecai kaniya. Nagpadayon siya sa pagtuman sa mga tambag ni Mordecai, sama sa iyang pagtuman sa dihang gipadako siya niini.
21 In those days, when, Mordecai, was sitting in the gate of the king, Bigthan and Teresh, two of the eunuchs of the king who guarded the threshold, were wroth, and sought to thrust a hand upon King Ahasuerus;
Niadtong mga adlawa, samtang naglingkod si Mordecai didto sa ganghaan sa hari, duha ka mga opisyal sa hari, si Bigtan ug si Teres, nga tigbantay sa pultahan, nasuko ug nagtinguha sa pagbuhat ug daotan ngadto kang Haring Ahasuerus.
22 but the thing became known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen, —and Esther told it unto the king, in the name of Mordecai.
Sa dihang nasayran kini ni Mordecai, gisultihan niya si Rayna Ester, ug unya misulti si Ester ngadto sa hari sa ngalan ni Mordecai.
23 And, when the thing was searched into and found [true], then were they two hanged upon the gallows, and it was written, in the book of the chronicles, before the king.
Gisusi ang sumbong ug napamatud-an gayod, ug gibitay ang duha ka lalaki sa mga bitayanan. Kini nga panghitabo nahisulat sa Ang Libro sa mga Cronicas atubangan sa hari.
