< Deuteronomy 8 >
1 All the commandment which I am commanding thee to-day, shalt thou, observe, to do, —that ye may, live, and multiply, and enter in and possess the land, which Yahweh sware unto your fathers.
Na hing o moe, na pung o thai hanah hoi Angraeng mah nam panawk khaeah sak ih lokkamhaih prae thungah akun moe, prae to na toep o thai hanah, vaihniah kang paek ih loknawk hae kahoih ah pazui oh.
2 So then, thou shalt remember all the way in which Yahweh thy God caused thee to journey these forty years in the desert, —that he might humble thee to put thee to the proof to know what was in thy heart, —whether thou wouldest keep his commandments or not.
Saning qui palito thung Angraeng mah kawbangah maw praezaek ah zaehhoih, tito poek oh; na Angraeng Sithaw mah na palung thungah paek ih lok pakuem koehhaih palung tawnh o maw, tawn o ai, tiah panoek hanah, kahnaem ah ang suek o moe, ang tanoek o.
3 So he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna which thou hadst not known, neither had thy fathers known, —that he might lead thee to consider that not on bread alone, shall the son of earth live, but on whatsoever cometh from the bidding of Yahweh, shall the son of earth live.
Anih mah atlim ah ang suek o moe, zok amthlamsak naah, nangcae hoi nam panawk mah panoek o ai ih, manna hoiah ang pacah o, to pongah kami loe takaw khue hoiah hing mak ai, Angraeng pakha hoi tacawt loknawk hoiah ni hing, tito ang panoek o sak.
4 Thy mantle, hath not fallen with age from off thee, and, thy foot, hath not become swollen, —these forty years.
Na khukbuennawk to prawn ai moe, saning qui palito thung, na khoknawk doeh bawk ai.
5 Thou must consider, then with thy heart, —that as a man chasteneth his son, Yahweh thy God, hath been chastening thee.
Kami mah a capa thuitaek baktih toengah, Angraeng mah ang thuitaek o, tito panoek oh.
6 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments of Yahweh thy God, —to walk in his ways and to revere him.
A caehhaih loklam ah na caeh o moe, anih to zit hanah, na Angraeng Sithaw mah paek ih loknawk to pazui oh.
7 For, Yahweh thy God, is bringing thee into a good land; a land of ravines of water, of fountains and depths, coming forth in valley, and in mountain:
Na Angraeng Sithaw mah kahoih prae, azawn, vacong tui kapop prae, azawn, mae ah tacawt tuipuek hoi vacong tui ohhaih prae,
8 a land of wheat and barley, and vine and fig-tree, and pomegranate, —a land of olive oil, and honey:
cang, barli cang, misur kungnawk, thaiduet kungnawk, pomogranat kungnawk, olive situi hoi khoitui longhaih prae,
9 a land wherein not in scarcity, shalt thou eat food, thou shalt lack nothing therein, —a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest hew copper.
kakhaa ai takaw, angaihaih tidoeh kaom ai prae, sum ah kangcoeng thlung hoi sum kamling takaehhaih maenawk nuiah na caeh o haih tih.
10 So then thou shalt eat and be satisfied, —and bless Yahweh thy God, for the good land which he hath given unto thee.
Nangcae han kahoih parai prae to ang paek o pongah, buh na caak o moe, zok nam hah o naah, Angraeng to tahamhoihaih na paek o han oh.
11 Take heed to thyself, lest thou forget Yahweh thy God, —so as not to keep his commandments and his regulations and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day;
Vaihniah kang paek o ih loknawk, a lokcaekhaihnawk, a zaehhoihaih daannawk pazui ai ah oh moeng moe, na Angraeng Sithaw pahnet moeng han ai ah acoe oh;
12 lest thou eat, and be satisfied, —and goodly houses, thou build and inhabit;
zok kamhah ah buh na caak o moe, kahoih parai im ah na oh o moe,
13 and thy herd and thy flock, increase, and silver and gold, increase unto thee, —and all that thou hast, increase;
nang ih maitaw hoi tuunawk to pung o, sui hoi sum kanglungnawk pop parai ah na tawnh o moe, na tawnh o ih hmuennawk boih pung naah,
14 and so thy heart be lifted up, —and thou forget Yahweh thy God, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt out of the house of servants;
amoek o hmah, misong ah na oh o haih Izip prae thung hoiah zaehoikung, na Angraeng Sithaw to pahnet o hmah;
15 who caused thee to journey through the great and terrible desert, of fiery serpents and scorpions, and thirsty wastes where was no water, —who brought forth for thee water out of the flinty rock;
kasoe kaom pahuinawk, sataai pophaih prae, tui om ai naah, thlung kamtak thung hoiah nangcae han tui paekkung, kalen parai, zit thok praezaek ah nangcae zaehoikung,
16 who fed thee with manna in the desert, which thy fathers had not known, —that he might humble thee, and that he might put thee to the proof, to do thee good in thy hereafter,
nangcae poek pahnaemsak pacoengah, tanoek moe, hnukkhuem ah hmuen kahoih sak pae hanah, praezaek ah nam panawk mah panoek vai ai ih manna hoiah pacahkung, na Angraeng Sithaw to pahnet o hmah,
17 and lest thou shouldest say in thy heart, —Mine own strength and the might of mine own hand, have gotten me this wealth.
ka thacakhaih hoi ka ban toksak thaihaih hoiah ni hae angraenghaihnawk hae ka hnuk o, tiah na poek o moeng han ai ah acoe oh.
18 But thou shalt remember Yahweh thy God, that it was, he, who had been giving thee strength to get wealth, —that so he might establish his covenant which he sware to thy fathers (as at this day).
Na Angraeng Sithaw to kahoih ah panoek oh; nam panawk khaeah sak ih lokkamhaih to vaihni ih baktih toengah caksak hanah, Sithaw mah ni angraenghaih to ang paek o.
19 But it shall be if thou forget, Yahweh thy God, and go after ether gods, and serve them, and bow thyself down to them, I testify against you to-day, that ye shall perish:
Na Angraeng Sithaw to na pahnet o moe, kalah sithawnawk hnukah na bang o, a tok to na sak pae o pacoengah, na bok o nahaeloe, na dueh o tangtang tih, tiah vaihniah acoehaih kang paek o.
20 like the nations which, Yahweh, is causing to perish from before you, so, shall ye perish, because ye would not hearken unto the voice of Yahweh your God.
Angraeng Sithaw ih lok na tahngai o ai nahaloe, Angraeng mah nangcae hma ah acaeng kaminawk amrosak baktih toengah, nangcae doeh nam ro o toeng tih.
