Deuteronomy 33
1 Now, this, is the blessing wherewith Moses, the man of God, blessed the sons of Israel, —before his death.
Trước khi qua đời, Môi-se, người của Đức Chúa Trời, chúc phước lành cho Ít-ra-ên như sau:
2 And he said—Yahweh from Sinai, came near, —Yea he dawned, out of Seir, upon them, He shone forth out of Mount Paran, Yea he came out of holy myriads, —Out of his right hand [proceeded] fire to guide them.
“Chúa Hằng Hữu đến với dân mình tại Núi Si-nai và Núi Sê-i-rơ, Ngài chiếu sáng từ Núi Pha-ran. Chúa đến với muôn nghìn vị thánh, lửa bốc cháy từ tay phải Ngài.
3 Yea he loved the tribes, All his holy ones, were in thy hand, —Yea, they, were encamped at thy feet, Each one bare away some of thy words.
Ngài yêu quý dân mình. Các thánh của Chúa được tay Ngài bảo bọc.
4 A law, did Moses command us, —A possession, for the convocation of Jacob.
Luật lệ Chúa do đầy tớ Ngài truyền lại, là một kho tàng của nhà Gia-cốp.
5 Thus became he in, Jeshurun, a king, —When the heads of the people gathered them-selves together, As one man, the tribes of Israel. [Reuben] —
Khi các nhà lãnh đạo của dân hội họp, khi các đại tộc quy tụ một nơi, Chúa đã đăng quang trị vì cả quốc dân Ít-ra-ên.”
6 Let Reuben live and not die, —Nor his men be easily counted.
Môi-se nói về đại tộc Ru-bên: “Xin cho Ru-bên sống mãi muôn đời, cho con cháu họ đông như sao trời.”
7 And, this, is for Judah, when he said, Hear, O Yahweh, the voice of Judah, That unto his own people, thou wouldst bring him home, —Let, his own hands, suffice him, And, a helper from his adversaries, do thou become.
Môi-se nói về đại tộc Giu-đa: “Chúa ôi! Xin nghe lời kêu cầu của Giu-đa, đem họ về với dân mình, dùng đôi tay bảo vệ mình; giúp họ chiến đấu chống quân thù.”
8 And of Levi, he said: Let, thy perfections and thy lights, belong unto thy man of lovingkindness, —Whom thou didst put to the proof at Massah, With whom thou didst contend over the waters of Meribah;
Về đại tộc Lê-vi, Môi-se chúc: “Xin giao Thu-mim của Chúa cho Lê-vi, và U-rim cho những người đầy lòng tin kính, vì Chúa đã thử họ tại Ma-sa và Mê-ri-ba.
9 Who saith of his father and of his mother, I behold them not, And, his own brethren, regardeth he not, And, his own sons, observeth he not, —Because they watch thy speech, That, thy covenant, they may preserve;
Một lòng tôn trọng giao ước Chúa, quyết tâm vâng giữ lời Ngài dạy. Nên họ dám sẵn lòng coi nhẹ, anh em, con cái, và cha mẹ.
10 May teach thy regulations unto Jacob, And thy law unto Israel, —May put incense in thy nostrils, And a whole-offering upon thine altar.
Họ sẽ dạy cho Gia-cốp luật lệ, thắp hương, dâng lễ thiêu trên bàn thờ Chúa.
11 Bless, O Yahweh his substance, And with the work of his hands, wilt thou be well pleased, —Crush thou the loins of them who rise up against him, And of them who hate him, that they rise not again.
Xin Chúa giúp cho họ thịnh vượng, chấp nhận các công việc họ làm cho Ngài. Xin đánh nát hông kẻ thù và người ghét họ, khiến chúng nó không ngóc đầu lên nổi.”
12 Of Benjamin, he said, The beloved of Yahweh, shall settle down securely, —With one to throw a shade over him all the day long, Yea, between his shoulders, hath he found rest.
Môi-se chúc đại tộc Bên-gia-min như sau: “Người được Chúa yêu quý sẽ sống an ninh bên Ngài. Chúa bảo bọc người mãi mãi, vì Ngài ngự trên người.”
13 And of Joseph, he said, Blessed of Yahweh, be his land, —With the precious things of the heavens with the dew, And with the abyss, couching beneath;
Về đại tộc Giô-sép, Môi-se chúc: “Đất họ được Chúa ban phước lành, với những bổng lộc chọn lọc từ trời xanh, và từ nơi sâu thẳm của lòng đất.
14 And with the precious fruits of the sun, —And with the precious yield of the moons;
Xin cho họ các sản phẩm quý nhất, dưới đôi vầng nhật nguyệt, tháng tháng mùa màng thu hoạch đầy kho;
15 And with the chief of the ancient mountains, —And with the precious things of the age-abiding hills;
cho họ hưởng hoa màu tuyệt hảo, tài vật nghìn năm của núi đồi,
16 And with the precious things of the earth and its fulness, And with the goodwill of One who dwelt in a thorn-bush.—Let it come on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was consecrated among his brethren.
và các thổ sản thượng hạng. Xin ân sủng của Đấng hiện ra nơi bụi gai đang cháy, đổ trên Giô-sép, ông hoàng của tất cả anh em.
17 His firstborn ox, be an honour to him. And the horns of a buffalo, be his horns, With them, let him thrust, peoples, All at once, to the ends of the earth, —Yea, [with] these, the myriads of Ephraim, And, [with] those, the thousands of Manasseh.
Người lẫm liệt như bò đực đầu lòng; với cặp sừng dũng mãnh của bò rừng, người sẽ húc các dân tộc khác chạy đến cuối trời, với hàng muôn người Ép-ra-im, và hằng nghìn người Ma-na-se.”
18 And, of Zebulun, he said, Rejoice, Zebulun in thy going out, —And [thou], Issachar in thy tents:
Môi-se nói về đại tộc Sa-bu-luân và Y-sa-ca: “Sa-bu-luân hân hoan lúc ra đi, còn Y-sa-ca hớn hở khi ở trong trại.
19 The peoples, unto the mountain, will they call, There, will they offer the sacrifices of righteousness, —For, the abundance of the seas, will they suck, Hidden treasures of the sand.
Họ sẽ mời các dân lên núi cùng nhau dâng lễ vật lên Chúa. Họ hưởng hải sản phong phú và các kho tàng chôn vùi trong cát.”
20 And, of Gad, he said: Blessed, be he that hath made room for Gad, —As a lioness, hath he laid himself down, And hath torn an arm likewise the crown of the head;
Môi-se nói về đại tộc Gát: “Ngợi khen Đấng mở rộng bờ cõi Gát! Như sư tử rình rập rồi xé nát, đầu và tay chân các con mồi.
21 And hath provided a first part for himself, For, there, a commander’s portion hath been hid, —So he cometh with the heads of the people, The righteousness of Yahweh, he executeth, And his regulations, with Israel.
Người chọn cho mình phần tốt nhất, là đất dành cho người lãnh đạo. Người cùng các vị lãnh tụ của dân, thực thi công lý của Chúa, xét xử toàn dân cách công minh.”
22 And, of Dan, he said, Dan, is a lion’s whelp, —He leapeth out of Bashan.
Về đại tộc Đan, Môi-se nói: “Đan là một sư tử con từ Ba-san nhảy xổ tới.”
23 And, of Naphtali, he said, O Naphtali! satisfied with favour, And full with the blessing of Yahweh, —The west and the sunny south, do thou possess.
Ông chúc đại tộc Nép-ta-li: “Nép-ta-li sẽ thỏa nguyện về các ân huệ, hưởng phước lành của Chúa tràn đầy. Người sẽ chiếm đóng vùng đất phía tây, còn phía nam cũng nằm trong lãnh địa.”
24 And, of Asher, he said, Most blessed of sons, be Asher, —Let him have the goodwill of his brethren, And let him dip, in oil, his foot:
Về đại tộc A-se, ông chúc: “Cầu cho A-se được phước hơn con trai khác; xin cho người được anh em yêu chuộng, người sang đến độ lấy dầu rửa chân.
25 Iron and bronze, be thy sandals, And, as thy days, be thy strength.
Then cửa người bằng đồng, bằng sắt, tuổi càng cao, sức người càng tăng.”
26 There is none like GOD, O Jeshurun, —Riding upon the heavens to thy help, —And for his own majesty, on the skies;
“Nào có ai như Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên. Uy nghi ngự các tầng trời, sẵn sàng cứu giúp khi ngươi kêu cầu.
27 Above, is the God of aforetime, And, beneath, are the Arms of the ages, —So he driveth before thee the foe, And doth say—Destroy!
Đức Chúa Trời ngươi là Thần Hằng Hữu với cánh tay bao phủ đời đời bất luận nơi nào ngươi trú ngụ. Ngài đuổi kẻ thù trước mặt ngươi và ra lệnh: Tiêu diệt đi cho rồi!
28 Thus hath Israel settled down securely, Alone, the fountain of Jacob, Within a land both of corn and new wine, —His heaven also droppeth down dew.
Nhờ thế, Ít-ra-ên sống riêng biệt, Gia-cốp an cư lạc nghiệp một nơi trong miền đầy rượu và ngũ cốc, vì đất họ đượm nhuần sương móc.
29 How happy art thou, O Israel! Who is like unto thee, O people victorious in Yahweh? Thy helpful shield, who also is thy majestic sword, —So that thy foes come cringing unto thee, And, thou, upon their heights, dost march along.
Ít-ra-ên phước hạnh tuyệt vời! Khắp muôn dân ai sánh kịp ngươi, những người được Chúa thương cứu độ? Ngài là thuẫn đỡ đần, che chở, là lưỡi gươm thần tuyệt luân! Kẻ thù khúm núm đầu hàng, nhưng ngươi chà nát tượng thần địch quân.”
