Deuteronomy 33

1 Now, this, is the blessing wherewith Moses, the man of God, blessed the sons of Israel, —before his death.

این است برکتی که موسی، مرد خدا، قبل از مرگش به قوم اسرائیل داد:

2 And he said—Yahweh from Sinai, came near, —Yea he dawned, out of Seir, upon them, He shone forth out of Mount Paran, Yea he came out of holy myriads, —Out of his right hand [proceeded] fire to guide them.

«خداوند از کوه سینا آمد، او از کوه سعیر طلوع کرد و از کوه فاران درخشید. مقدّسین بی‌شمار همراه او بودند و آتشی مشتعل در دست راست او.

3 Yea he loved the tribes, All his holy ones, were in thy hand, —Yea, they, were encamped at thy feet, Each one bare away some of thy words.

او قوم خود را دوست می‌دارد و از آنها حمایت می‌کند، ایشان نزد پاهای او می‌نشینند و از سخنانش بهره‌مند می‌گردند.

4 A law, did Moses command us, —A possession, for the convocation of Jacob.

قوانینی که من برای قوم اسرائیل آوردم، میراث ایشان است.

5 Thus became he in, Jeshurun, a king, —When the heads of the people gathered them-selves together, As one man, the tribes of Israel. [Reuben] —

خداوند در یِشورون پادشاه شد، وقتی که سران قوم جمع شدند، همراه با همۀ قبیله‌های اسرائیل.»

6 Let Reuben live and not die, —Nor his men be easily counted.

موسی دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ رئوبین چنین گفت: «رئوبین زنده باشد و نمیرد و افراد قبیله‌اش کم نشوند.»

7 And, this, is for Judah, when he said, Hear, O Yahweh, the voice of Judah, That unto his own people, thou wouldst bring him home, —Let, his own hands, suffice him, And, a helper from his adversaries, do thou become.

و دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ یهودا گفت: «ای خداوند، صدای یهودا را بشنو! او را با قومش متحد گردان، او را در مقابل دشمنان یاری ده تا بتواند از خود دفاع کند.»

8 And of Levi, he said: Let, thy perfections and thy lights, belong unto thy man of lovingkindness, —Whom thou didst put to the proof at Massah, With whom thou didst contend over the waters of Meribah;

دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ لاوی گفت: «ای خداوند، اوریم و تُمّیم خود را به خادمان امین خود سپردی. تو ایشان را در مسا آزمودی و در کنار چشمهٔ مریبه امتحان نمودی.

9 Who saith of his father and of his mother, I behold them not, And, his own brethren, regardeth he not, And, his own sons, observeth he not, —Because they watch thy speech, That, thy covenant, they may preserve;

ایشان تو را بیش از پدر و مادر، برادر و فرزند خود، دوست داشتند، از کلام تو اطاعت کردند و نسبت به عهد تو وفادار ماندند.

10 May teach thy regulations unto Jacob, And thy law unto Israel, —May put incense in thy nostrils, And a whole-offering upon thine altar.

آنها قوانین تو را به بنی‌اسرائیل می‌آموزند و بر مذبح تو، بخور و قربانی سوختنی به تو تقدیم می‌کنند.

11 Bless, O Yahweh his substance, And with the work of his hands, wilt thou be well pleased, —Crush thou the loins of them who rise up against him, And of them who hate him, that they rise not again.

ای خداوند، قبیلهٔ لاوی را برکت بده و خدمت ایشان را قبول بفرما. کمر دشمنانشان را بشکن تا دیگر برنخیزند.»

12 Of Benjamin, he said, The beloved of Yahweh, shall settle down securely, —With one to throw a shade over him all the day long, Yea, between his shoulders, hath he found rest.

موسی دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ بنیامین چنین گفت: «او محبوب خداوند است و در پناه او زیست می‌کند، خداوند تمامی روز او را احاطه می‌نماید و از هر بلایی او را حفظ می‌کند.»

13 And of Joseph, he said, Blessed of Yahweh, be his land, —With the precious things of the heavens with the dew, And with the abyss, couching beneath;

دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ یوسف چنین گفت: «خداوند سرزمینشان را برکت دهد، با باران و با آبهای زیر زمین.

14 And with the precious fruits of the sun, —And with the precious yield of the moons;

سرزمینشان در هر فصلی پر بار باشد و از محصولاتی که آفتاب می‌رویاند غنی گردد.

15 And with the chief of the ancient mountains, —And with the precious things of the age-abiding hills;

کوههای قدیمی‌شان پر از درخت میوه شوند و تپه‌های جاودانی‌شان حاصلخیز گردند.

16 And with the precious things of the earth and its fulness, And with the goodwill of One who dwelt in a thorn-bush.—Let it come on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was consecrated among his brethren.

در زمینشان وفور نعمت باشد و ایشان از رضایت خداوند برخوردار گردند، خداوندی که در بوتهٔ مشتعل ظاهر گشت. تمامی این برکات بر یوسف باد، بر کسی که میان برادران خود شاهزاده بود.

17 His firstborn ox, be an honour to him. And the horns of a buffalo, be his horns, With them, let him thrust, peoples, All at once, to the ends of the earth, —Yea, [with] these, the myriads of Ephraim, And, [with] those, the thousands of Manasseh.

یوسف در قوت مانند گوسالۀ نر است، و همچون گاو وحشی با شاخهای خویش تمام قومها را می‌زند. این برکات بر هزاره‌های منسی و ده هزاره‌های افرایم باد.»

18 And, of Zebulun, he said, Rejoice, Zebulun in thy going out, —And [thou], Issachar in thy tents:

موسی دربارهٔ قبایل زبولون و یساکار چنین گفت: «ای زبولون سفرهای تو با شادی همراه باشد، و تو ای یساکار در خیمه‌های خود شادمان باش.

19 The peoples, unto the mountain, will they call, There, will they offer the sacrifices of righteousness, —For, the abundance of the seas, will they suck, Hidden treasures of the sand.

زبولون و یساکار قومها را به کوه خود دعوت خواهند کرد و در آنجا قربانیهای راستین تقدیم خواهند نمود. ثروت دریا از آن ایشان خواهد شد و گنجینه‌های نهفته در شن نصیب آنها خواهد گردید.»

20 And, of Gad, he said: Blessed, be he that hath made room for Gad, —As a lioness, hath he laid himself down, And hath torn an arm likewise the crown of the head;

دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ جاد گفت: «برکت بر کسانی باد که به جاد کمک می‌کنند. او مانند شیری است درنده و قوی.

21 And hath provided a first part for himself, For, there, a commander’s portion hath been hid, —So he cometh with the heads of the people, The righteousness of Yahweh, he executeth, And his regulations, with Israel.

بهترین قسمت سرزمین را برای خود برگزید، قسمتی را که سهم حاکم بود به او دادند. او مردم را هدایت کرد و حکم و داوری خداوند را در مورد اسرائیل اجرا نمود.»

22 And, of Dan, he said, Dan, is a lion’s whelp, —He leapeth out of Bashan.

موسی دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ دان چنین گفت: «دان مانند بچه شیری است که از باشان می‌جهد.»

23 And, of Naphtali, he said, O Naphtali! satisfied with favour, And full with the blessing of Yahweh, —The west and the sunny south, do thou possess.

دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ نفتالی گفت: «نفتالی از رحمتها و برکات خداوند لبریز است، مرز جنوبی سرزمین او، تا دریاچه جلیل وسعت خواهد یافت.»

24 And, of Asher, he said, Most blessed of sons, be Asher, —Let him have the goodwill of his brethren, And let him dip, in oil, his foot:

دربارهٔ قبیلهٔ اشیر چنین گفت: «اشیر بیش از قبایل دیگر برکت یافته است. در میان برادرانش محبوب باشد و سرزمینش از محصول زیتون غنی گردد.

25 Iron and bronze, be thy sandals, And, as thy days, be thy strength.

دروازه‌های شهرهایش با پشت‌بندهای آهنین محصور شود، و تا وقتی زنده است از قدرتش کاسته نگردد.»

26 There is none like GOD, O Jeshurun, —Riding upon the heavens to thy help, —And for his own majesty, on the skies;

«ای یِشورون، خدایی مانند خدای تو نیست. او باشکوه و جلال بر ابرهای آسمان سوار می‌شود تا به کمک تو بیاید.

27 Above, is the God of aforetime, And, beneath, are the Arms of the ages, —So he driveth before thee the foe, And doth say—Destroy!

خدای ازلی پناهگاه توست و بازوان ابدی او تو را محافظت خواهند کرد. او دشمنانت را از مقابل تو خواهد راند و به تو خواهد گفت که آنها را هلاک کنی.

28 Thus hath Israel settled down securely, Alone, the fountain of Jacob, Within a land both of corn and new wine, —His heaven also droppeth down dew.

پس اسرائیل در امنیت ساکن خواهد شد. او در سرزمینی زندگی خواهد کرد که پر از غله و شراب است و از آسمان آن شبنم بر زمین می‌بارد.

29 How happy art thou, O Israel! Who is like unto thee, O people victorious in Yahweh? Thy helpful shield, who also is thy majestic sword, —So that thy foes come cringing unto thee, And, thou, upon their heights, dost march along.

خوشا به حال تو، ای اسرائیل، زیرا هیچ قومی مثل تو نیست، قومی که خداوند، آن را نجات داده باشد. خداوند سپر و شمشیر توست، او تو را کمک می‌کند و به تو پیروزی می‌بخشد. دشمنانت در مقابل تو به زانو در خواهند آمد و تو بر پشت آنها پای خواهی نهاد.»
