Deuteronomy 32
1 Give ear O ye heavens and I will speak, And let the earth hear the sayings of my mouth:
आकाशमंडल, यहां ध्यान दो, मुझे सम्भाषण का अवसर प्रदान करो; पृथ्वी मेरे मुख से मुखरित शब्द सुने.
2 Let my teaching drop as the rain, Let my speech distil as the dew, —As copious rains on tender grass, As myriad drops on seeding plants.
मेरी शिक्षा वृष्टि-समान टपके, मेरा सम्भाषण कोमल घास पर लघु बूंदों के समान, वनस्पति पर वृष्टि फुहार समान और ओस की बूंदों समान पड़े.
3 When, the name of Yahweh, I proclaim, Ascribe ye greatness unto our God: —
क्योंकि मेरी घोषणा है याहवेह के सम्मान; हमारे परमेश्वर की महानता की स्तुति करो!
4 A Rock! faultless his work, For, all his ways, are just, A GOD of faithfulness and without perversity, Right and fair, is he!
वह चट्टान! त्रुटिहीन है उनकी रचना, क्योंकि उनकी सारी युक्तियां नीतियुक्त ही हैं; विश्वासयोग्य परमेश्वर, अन्याय विहीन, न्यायपूर्ण और सत्यनिष्ठ हैं वह.
5 They have broken faith with him to be no sons of his—their fault, —A generation twisted and crooked.
याहवेह के प्रति उनका पालन विकृत रहा है, उनके दोष पूरा होने के कारण वे उनकी संतान नहीं रह गए, परंतु अब वे हैं पतनोन्मुख और कुटिल पीढ़ी!
6 Is it Yahweh, ye thus requite, O impious people and unwise? Is not, he, thy father who begat thee? He, that made thee and established thee?
ओ मूर्खो, और मन्दमति लोगो, क्या तुम यही प्रतिफल दे रहे हो याहवेह को? क्या वह तुम्हारे पिता नहीं, जो तुम्हें यहां तक ले आए हैं? तुम उन्हीं की कृति हो और उन्हीं के द्वारा तुम प्रतिष्ठित किए गए हो?
7 Remember the days of age-past times, Remark the years of many generations, —Ask thy father and he will tell thee, Thine elders and they will say to thee: —
अतीत के उन दिनों का स्मरण करो; सारी पीढ़ियों के सालों का विचार करो. अपने पिता से विवेचना करो, तो वह तुम्हें अवगत करा देंगे, तुम्हारे पुरनिए, और वे इसका उल्लेख करेंगे.
8 When the Most High gave inheritances unto the nations, When he spread abroad the sons of Adam, He set the bounds of the peoples, According to the number of the sons of Israel.
जब सर्वोच्च ने राष्ट्रों में उनकी मीरास आवंटित की, जब उन्होंने आदम के वंशजों को वर्गीकृत किया, उन्होंने राष्ट्रों की सीमाएं इस्राएलियों की गिनती के आधार पर तब तय कर दीं.
9 For, Yahweh’s portion is his people, —Jacob, his inherited possession.
क्योंकि याहवेह की संपदा है उनकी प्रजा; याकोब उनकी मीरास का आवंटन है.
10 He met him in a desert land, And in the howling waste of a wilderness, —He encompassed him watched over him, Shielded him as the pupil of his own eye.
एक मरुभूमि में उनकी उससे भेंट हुई, वस्तुतः वह सांय-सांय करता निर्जन क्षेत्र था. उन्होंने उसके आस-पास बाड़ खड़ी कर दी, वह उसकी देखभाल करते रहे; यहां तक कि उन्होंने उसकी सुरक्षा अपनी आंख की पुतली-समान की,
11 As, an eagle, stirreth up his nest, Over his young ones, fluttereth, Spreadeth abroad his wings, taketh one, Beareth it up on his pinions,
उस गरुड़-समान, जो अपने नीड़ को हिला कर अपने बच्चों को जगाता, उनके ऊपर मंडराता रहता है, वह अपने डैने फैलाकर उन्हें उठा लेता है, और अपने डैनों पर ही ले जाता है.
12 Yahweh alone did lead him, —And there was with him no GOD of a stranger.
सिर्फ याहवेह ही उसके दिग्दर्शक थे; याहवेह को किसी परकीय देवता की ज़रूरत न थी.
13 He made him ride on the high places of the land, Caused him to eat the increase of the fields, —And gave him to suck honey out of the cliff, And oil out of the rock of flint:
याहवेह ने उसे अपने देश के ऊंचे क्षेत्रों में विचरण करने योग्य बना दिया था. उसके उपयोग के लिए भूमि की उपज उपलब्ध थी. याहवेह ने उसके लिए चट्टान में से मधु परोस दी, और वज्र चट्टान में से तेल भी!
14 Curds of kine and milk of sheep, —With fat of well-fed lambs, Yea rams bred in Bashan, and he-goats, With the white of the kernels of wheat, —And, the blood of the grape, thou didst drink as it foamed.
गाय-दुग्ध-दही, भेड़-बकरियों का दूध, और मेमनों और बाशान प्रजाति के मेढ़ों, और बकरों का वसा, इसके अलावा सर्वोत्कृष्ट गेहूं! और तुमने लाल रंग के बेहतरीन दाखमधु का सेवन किया.
15 Then Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: Thou wast fat, Thou wast thick, Thou wast gorged, So he forsook the GOD who made him, And treated as foolish his Rock of salvation.
मगर यशुरून स्वस्थ होकर उद्दंड हो गया; तुम तो हृष्ट-पुष्ट और आकर्षक हो गए थे. तब उसने अपने सृष्टिकर्ता परमेश्वर ही का परित्याग कर दिया, उसे अपने उद्धार की चट्टान से ही घृणा हो गई.
16 They moved him to jealousy with foreign [gods], —With abominations, angered they him:
विदेशी देवताओं के द्वारा उन्होंने याहवेह को ईर्ष्यालु बना दिया, घृणित मूर्तियों के द्वारा उन्होंने याहवेह के कोप को उद्दीप्त कर दिया.
17 They sacrificed to mischievous demons to a No-GOD, Gods whom they knew not, —New ones lately come in, Your fathers never shuddered at them!
उन्होंने प्रेत आत्माओं को बलि अर्पित की, जो परमेश्वर ही नहीं होती. उन परकीय देवताओं को, जो उनके लिए अज्ञात ही हैं, नए देवता, जिनका अस्तित्व हाल ही में प्रकट हुआ है, जिन्हें तुम्हारे पूर्वज जानते भी न थे.
18 Of the Rock who had begotten thee, thou wast unmindful, —And didst forget GOD who had given thee birth.
तुमने उस चट्टान की उपेक्षा की, जिसने तुम्हें पाला पोसा.
19 When Yahweh saw, he derided, —Because his sons and his daughters gave provocation.
यह सब याहवेह की दृष्टि में आ गया और उन्हें उनसे घृणा हो गई, क्योंकि यह उत्तेजना उन्हीं के पुत्र-पुत्रियों द्वारा की गई थी.
20 So he said: —I will hide my face from them, I will see what will be their hereafter, —For a generation given to intrigue, they are, Sons, whom there is no trusting;
तब याहवेह ने कहा, “मैं उनसे अपना मुख छिपा लूंगा, मैं देखना चाहूंगा कि कैसा होता है, उनका अंत; क्योंकि वे विकृत पीढ़ी हैं; ऐसी सन्तति हैं, जो विश्वासयोग्य हैं ही नहीं.
21 They have moved me to jealousy with a No-GOD, They have angered me with their vanities: I, therefore, will move them to jealousy with a No-people, With an impious nation, will I anger them.
उन्होंने मुझे उसके द्वारा ईर्ष्यालु बना दिया, जो ईश्वर है ही नहीं; उन्होंने अपनी मूर्तियों द्वारा मुझे उत्तेजित किया है. तब अब मैं उन्हें उनके द्वारा ईर्ष्या पैदा करूंगा जिन्हें राष्ट्र ही नहीं माना जा सकता; एक मूर्ख राष्ट्र के द्वारा मैं उन्हें क्रोध के लिए उकसाऊंगा.
22 For, a fire, is kindled in mine anger, And shall burn as far as hades beneath, —And consume the earth with her produce, And set ablaze the foundations of the mountains: (Sheol h7585)
क्योंकि मेरी क्रोध की अग्नि प्रज्वलित हो चुकी है, वह अधोलोक के निम्नतम स्तर तक प्रज्वलित है. पृथ्वी की उपज इसने भस्म कर दी है, और पर्वतों की नींव तक इसने ज्वलित कर दी है. (Sheol h7585)
23 I will heap on them, calamities, —Mine arrows, will I spend upon them:
“उन पर तो मैं विपत्तियों के ढेर लगा दूंगा उन पर मैं अपने बाणों का प्रहार करूंगा.
24 The meltings of hunger, The devourings of fever, And the dangerous pestilence, —And, the tooth of beasts, will I send among them, With the poison of crawlers of the dust:
वे दुर्भिक्ष के प्रभाव से नाश हो जाएंगे, महामारी उन्हें चट कर जाएगी और बड़ा दयनीय होगा उनका विनाश; मैं उन पर वन्य पशुओं के दांत प्रभावी कर दूंगा, धूलि में रेंगते जंतुओं का विष भी.
25 Without, shall the sword bereave, In the inmost recesses, terror, —To both young man and virgin, Suckling, with man of grey hairs.
घर के बाहर तलवार द्वारा निर्वंश किए जाएंगे; वे घर के भीतर भयाक्रान्त होंगे. युवक और युवतियां, दूध पीते शिशु और वृद्ध.
26 I said, I would puff them away, I would destroy from mortals, their memory;
मैं कह सकता था, मैं उन्हें काटकर टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दूंगा, मैं मनुष्यों के बीच से उनकी स्मृति ही मिटा दूंगा,
27 Were it not that the taunt of the foe, I feared, Lest their adversaries should mistake, —Lest they should say—Our own hand, is exalted, It is not Yahweh, therefore who hath wrought all this!
यदि मुझे शत्रु की ओर से उत्तेजना का भय न होता, कि उनके विरोधी गलत अनुमान लगाकर यह कहें, ‘विजय तो हमारे बाहुबल का परिणाम है; इसमें याहवेह का कोई योग नहीं था.’”
28 For a nation of vanished sagacity, they are, —And there is in them no understanding.
क्योंकि वे ऐसे राष्ट्र हैं, जिसमें बुद्धि का नितांत अभाव है, कुछ भी समझ नहीं है उनमें.
29 If they had been wise, they would have understood this, —They would have given heed to their here-after!
यदि उनमें बुद्धिमता होती वे यह समझ लेते, उन्हें अपने अंत का अंतर्बोध हो जाता!
30 Oh! how would one, have chased, a thousand! And, two, put, ten thousand to flight, —Were it not that their Rock had sold them, And, Yahweh, had abandoned them;
भला यह कैसे संभव हो सकता है, कि सिर्फ एक व्यक्ति एक सहस्र को खदेड़ दे, और दो व्यक्ति दस सहस्र को, यदि उनकी उस चट्टान ने अपने हाथ उन्हें न सौंपे होते, और याहवेह ने उन्हें उनके अधीन न किया होता?
31 For, not like our Rock, is their rock, Our enemies themselves, being judges;
बात यह है कि उनकी चट्टान हमारी चट्टान के तुल्य नहीं है, यहां तक कि हमारे शत्रु तक यह मानते हैं.
32 For of the vine of Sodom, is their vine, And of the vineyards of Gomorrah, —Their grapes, are grapes of gall, Clusters of bitter things, are theirs:
उनकी द्राक्षालता का मूल है सोदोम की द्राक्षालता और अमोराह के खेत. उनके द्राक्षा विषैली कोटि के द्राक्षा हैं, द्राक्षा पुंज कड़वे हैं.
33 The poison of large serpents, is their wine, —Yea the fierce venom of asps.
क्योंकि उनका द्राक्षारस सर्पों का विष है, नागों का घातक ज़हर.
34 Is not, that, stored up with me, —Sealed up amongst my treasures;
“क्या यह सब मेरे भंडार में संग्रहीत नहीं है; मेरे कोष में मोहर के द्वारा सुरक्षित?
35 Unto the days of vengeance and requital: Unto the time their foot shall totter? For, near, is the day of their fate, And their destiny speedeth on.
प्रतिशोध मेरा दायित्व है; प्रतिदण्ड मैं दूंगा. वह अवसर आएगा, जब उनका पैर तो फिसलेगा ही; क्योंकि उनका विपदा दिवस आसन्न है, और द्रुत गति है उन पर आ रही नियति की.”
36 For Yahweh will vindicate his people, And upon his servants, will have compassion, —When he seeth that strength is exhausted, And there is no one shut up or at large,
क्योंकि जब याहवेह यह देखेंगे कि उनकी प्रजा की शक्ति का ह्रास हो चुका है, और दास अथवा स्वतंत्र कोई शेष न रहा है, याहवेह तब उनके सेवकों पर कृपा करेंगे और वह अपनी प्रजा का प्रतिशोध ज़रूर लेंगे.
37 Then will he say, Where are their gods, The rock in whom they have trusted;
याहवेह प्रश्न करेंगे: “कहां हैं उनके देवता; वह चट्टान, जिसमें उन्होंने आश्रय लिया था?
38 Who used to eat the fat of their sacrifices, To drink the wine of their libations? Let them rise up and help you, Let them be over you for a coveting!
वे देवता, जो उनकी बलियों की वसा का सेवन करते रहे थे, और उनकी भेंट से दाखमधु का पान किया था? वे तुम्हारी सहायता के लिए सक्रिय हो जाएं! हो जाएं वे तुम्हारा आश्रय-स्थल!
39 See, now, that, I, I, am, he that is, And there are no gods with me, —I, kill—and make alive, I wound and, I, heal, And there is none who, from my hand, can deliver,
“ध्यान से देख लो कि मैं ही याहवेह हूं, कोई भी मेरे अलावा नहीं है—ये देवता भी नहीं; मेरे ही आदेश पर मृत्यु होती है और जीवन का प्रदाता भी मैं ही हूं, घाव मेरे द्वारा किए गए हैं, और मैं ही घाव भर भी देता हूं! कोई भी ऐसा नहीं है, जो मेरे हाथों से कुछ छीन सके.
40 For I lift up unto the heavens my hand, —And say, Living am, I, unto times age-abiding:
मैं ही हूं, जो स्वर्ग की ओर अपना हाथ बढ़ाकर यह कहता हूं: शपथ मेरे जीवन की,
41 If I whet my flashing sword, And my hand take hold on justice, I will return vengeance unto mine adversaries, And them who hate me, will I requite:
जब मैं अपने शत्रुओं से प्रतिशोध लूंगा, जब मैं अपने विरोधियों को उसका प्रतिफल दूंगा, मैं अपनी तलवार पर धार लगा उसे चमकाऊंगा और मेरा हाथ न्याय को पुष्ट करेगा.
42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, And, my sword, shall devour flesh, —With the blood of the slain and the captive, With the flesh of the chief leader of the foe.
मैं अपने बाणों को रक्त से मदमस्त कर दूंगा, मेरी तलवार मारे गये लोगों और बंदियों के रक्त के साथ मांस को, शत्रुओं के लंबे-लंबे केशवाले अधिकारियों के सिरों को ग्रास लेगी.”
43 Shout for joy O ye nations [with] his people, For the blood of his servants, he avengeth, —And, vengeance, he returneth unto his adversaries, And is propitious unto the soil of his people.
राष्ट्रों, याहवेह की प्रजा के साथ उल्लास मनाओ, क्योंकि वह अपने सेवकों की हत्या का प्रतिशोध लेंगे; अपने शत्रुओं से वह प्रतिशोध लेंगे, इससे वह अपने देश और अपनी प्रजा के लिए प्रायश्चित पूरा कर देंगे.
44 So Moses came in and spake all the words of this Song in the hearing of the people, —he and Hoshea son of Nun.
इसके बाद मोशेह ने जाकर सारी इस्राएली प्रजा के सामने उन्हें सुनाते हुए इस गीत रचना का पठन किया; उन्होंने और उनके साथ नून के पुत्र होशिया (यहोशू) ने.
45 And, when Moses made an end of speaking all these words unto all Israel,
जब मोशेह सारी इस्राएलियों के सामने समग्र गीत का पाठन कर चुके,
46 he said unto them—Apply your hearts unto all the words which I am witnessing against you, to-day, —how that ye must command your sons to observe to do all the words of this law;
उन्होंने इस्राएलियों को आदेश दिया, “इन शब्दों को तुम हृदय में रख लो. ये मैं तुम्हें चेतावनी स्वरूप सौंप रहा हूं. तुम अपनी सन्तति को इन्हें सावधानीपूर्वक पालन करने का आदेश दोगे; इस विधान का पूरी तरह पालन करने का.
47 for it is not, too small a thing, for you, for, it, is your life, —and, hereby, shall ye prolong your days upon the soil whereunto ye are, passing over the Jordan to possess it.
क्योंकि यह कोई निरर्थक वक्तव्य नहीं है. वस्तुतः यही तुम्हारे जीवन है. इसी के मर्म के द्वारा उस देश में तुम अपने जीवन के दिनों का आवर्धन करोगे, जिसमें तुम यरदन पार करके प्रवेश करने पर हो, जिसका तुम अधिग्रहण करोगे.”
48 And Yahweh spake unto Moses, on this selfsame day, saying:
उसी दिन याहवेह ने मोशेह को यह आदेश दिया,
49 Get thee up into this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, which is over against Jericho—and behold the land of Canaan which I am giving unto the sons of Israel, for a possession;
“अब तुम अबारिम के नेबो पर्वत पर चढ़ जाओ, जो येरीख़ो के सम्मुख मोआब देश में है. वहां जाकर तुम कनान देश पर दृष्टिपात करो, जो मैं अभिग्रहण के लिए इस्राएल को प्रदान कर रहा हूं.
50 and die thou in the mount whither thou art going up, and be withdrawn unto thy kinsfolk, —as Aaron thy brother died in Mount Hor, and was withdrawn unto his kinsfolk;
तब तुम जिस पर्वत पर चढ़ोगे, वहीं अपने प्राण विसर्जित कर देना और अपने पूर्वजों में सम्मिलित हो जाना, जिस प्रकार तुम्हारे भाई अहरोन ने होर पर्वत पर जा अपने प्राण विसर्जित किए थे, और वह अपने पूर्वजों में सम्मिलित हो गया.
51 for that ye acted unfaithfully against me in the midst of the sons of Israel, regarding the waters of Meribah-Kadesh in the desert of Zin, —for that ye hallowed me not in the midst of the sons of Israel.
क्योंकि तुमने समस्त इस्राएलियों के बीच में मेरिबाह-कादेश के जल-स्रोतों पर ज़िन के निर्जन प्रदेश में मेरे साथ विश्वासघात किया, इस्राएलियों के बीच में मेरे लिए उपयुक्त पवित्रता का व्यवहार नहीं किया.
52 Yet, over against thee, shalt thou behold the land, —but thereinto, shalt thou not enter, into the land which I am giving unto the sons of Israel.
तुम दूर ही से उस देश का दर्शन कर सकोगे; मगर उसमें प्रवेश नहीं करोगे, उस देश में, जो मैं इस्राएलियों को प्रदान कर रहा हूं.”
