Deuteronomy 31
1 And Moses went, and spake these words unto all Israel;
അതിനുശേഷം മോശ ചെന്ന് ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ എല്ലാ ഇസ്രായേലിനോടും പറഞ്ഞു:
2 and said unto them—A hundred and twenty years old, am I to-day, I can no more go out and come in, —Yahweh indeed hath said unto me, Thou shall not pass over this Jordan.
“എനിക്ക് ഇപ്പോൾ നൂറ്റിയിരുപത് വയസ്സായി. ഇനിയും നിങ്ങളെ നയിക്കാൻ എനിക്കു സാധിക്കുകയില്ല. ‘നീ യോർദാൻ കടക്കുകയില്ല’ എന്ന് യഹോവ എന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
3 Yahweh thy God, is passing over before thee, he, will destroy these nations from before thee so shalt thou dispossess them, —Joshua is passing over before thee, as Yahweh hath spoken.
നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവതന്നെ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി കടന്നുചെല്ലും. അവിടന്ന് ഈ ജനതകളെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും നീ അവരുടെ ദേശം അവകാശമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. യഹോവ കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുപോലെ യോശുവയും നിങ്ങൾക്കുമുമ്പേ കടന്നുചെല്ലും.
4 So will Yahweh do unto them as he did unto Sihon and unto Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto the land of them whom he destroyed.
യഹോവ അമോര്യരാജാക്കന്മാരായ സീഹോനെയും ഓഗിനെയും അവരുടെ ദേശവാസികളോടൊപ്പം നശിപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇവരോടും ചെയ്യും.
5 So will Yahweh deliver them up before you, —and ye shall do unto them—according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.
യഹോവ അവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിക്കും, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുപോലെയെല്ലാം നിങ്ങൾ അവരോടു ചെയ്യണം.
6 Be firm and bold, do not fear nor tremble because of them, —for Yahweh thy God, it is who is going with thee, he will not fail thee nor forsake thee.
ബലവും ധൈര്യവും ഉള്ളവരായിരിക്കുക. അവർനിമിത്തം നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടുകയോ പേടിക്കുകയോ അരുത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പോകുന്നത്. അവിടന്നു നിങ്ങളെ കൈവിടുകയോ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയോ ഇല്ല.”
7 And Moses called for Joshua, and said unto him, in the sight of all Israel. Be firm and bold, for, thou, shalt go with this people into the land which Yahweh sware unto their fathers to give unto them, and, thou shalt cause them to inherit it.
അതിനുശേഷം മോശ യോശുവയെ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി എല്ലാ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെയും സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ബലവും ധൈര്യവും ഉള്ളവനായിരിക്കുക. അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു നൽകുമെന്ന് യഹോവ ശപഥംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്ക് നീ ഈ ജനത്തോടുകൂടെ പോകണം; അവരുടെ അവകാശമായി അവർക്ക് അതു വിഭാഗിച്ചു നൽകണം.
8 But, Yahweh, it is who is going before thee, he will be with thee, he will not fail thee nor forsake thee, —thou must not fear nor be dismayed.
യഹോവതന്നെ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി പുറപ്പെടും, അവിടന്ന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും. അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ ഒരുനാളും കൈവിടുകയോ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയോ ഇല്ല. ഭയപ്പെടുകയോ അധൈര്യപ്പെടുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്.”
9 And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, who were bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, —and unto all the elders of Israel.
അങ്ങനെ മോശ ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണം എഴുതി യഹോവയുടെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകം ചുമക്കുന്ന ലേവിയുടെ മക്കളായ പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കും ഇസ്രായേലിലെ എല്ലാ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാർക്കും നൽകി.
10 And Moses commanded them, saying, —At the end of seven years in the appointed season of the year of release, during the festival of booths;
അതിനുശേഷം മോശ അവരോട് ഇങ്ങനെ കൽപ്പിച്ചു: “ഏഴുവർഷം കൂടുമ്പോഴുള്ള വിമോചനവർഷത്തിലെ കൂടാരപ്പെരുന്നാളിൽ,
11 when all Israel cometh in to see the face of Yahweh thy God, in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel, in their hearing.
നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത്, അവിടത്തെ സന്നിധിയിൽ എല്ലാ ഇസ്രായേലും കൂടിവരുമ്പോൾ അവർ കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന് നിങ്ങൾ ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണം വായിച്ചു കേൾപ്പിക്കണം.
12 Call together the people—the men and the women and the little ones, and thy sojourner who is within thy gates, —that they may hear, and that they may learn, so shall they revere Yahweh your God, and observe to do all the words of this law;
പുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളും നിന്റെ നഗരത്തിലുള്ള പ്രവാസികളും ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ വചനങ്ങൾ സൂക്ഷ്മതയോടെ അനുസരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അതു കേൾക്കുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടാൻ പഠിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന് അവരെ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടിവരുത്തണം.
13 and that their children who know not, may hear and learn, that they may revere Yahweh your God, —all the days that ye are living upon the soil, which ye are passing over the Jordan to possess.
ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അറിയാത്തവരായ അവരുടെ മക്കൾ യോർദാൻ കടന്ന് അവകാശമാക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തു ജീവിക്കുന്ന കാലത്തോളം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടാൻ പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഈ നിയമം തീർച്ചയായും ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു കേൾക്കണം.”
14 Then said Yahweh unto Moses: Lo! thy days have drawn near that thou must die. Call Joshua and station yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may command him. So Moses went, with Joshua, and they took their station in the tent of meeting.
യഹോവ മോശയോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു: “നിന്റെ മരണദിനം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാൻ യോശുവയെ അധികാരപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിനു നീയും യോശുവയും സമാഗമകൂടാരത്തിൽ സന്നിഹിതരാകുക.” അങ്ങനെ മോശയും യോശുവയും സമാഗമകൂടാരത്തിൽ സന്നിഹിതരായി.
15 And Yahweh appeared in the tent, in a pillar of cloud, —and the pillar of cloud stood, at the entrance of the tent.
അതിനുശേഷം യഹോവ കൂടാരത്തിൽ മേഘസ്തംഭത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി. മേഘസ്തംഭം കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനകവാടത്തിൽ നിലകൊണ്ടു.
16 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Lo! thou art about to sleep with thy fathers, —and this people will rise up, and go away unchastely after the gods of the foreigners of the land into the midst of whom they are entering, and will forsake me and break my covenant which I solemnised with them.
യഹോവ മോശയോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു: “നീ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിക്കാൻപോകുന്നു. ഈ ജനത വേഗത്തിൽ അവർ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്ത് അന്യദേവന്മാരുമായി പരസംഗം ചെയ്യും. അവർ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ഞാൻ അവരോടു ചെയ്ത ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
17 Then will mine anger kindle upon them in that day, and I will forsake them and will hide my face from them and they shall be consumed, and many calamities and misfortunes shall find them out, —and they will say, in that day, Is it not because my God is not in my midst, that these calamities have found me out?
അന്ന് ഞാൻ അവരോടു കോപിച്ച് അവരെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളയും. ഞാൻ എന്റെ മുഖം അവരിൽനിന്നും മറയ്ക്കും, അവർ നശിച്ചുപോകും. അനവധി അത്യാഹിതങ്ങളും കഷ്ടതകളും അവരുടെമേൽ വരും. ‘നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം നമ്മോടുകൂടെ ഇല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ടല്ലേ ഈ അത്യാഹിതം നമുക്കു വന്നത്?’ എന്ന് ആ ദിവസം അവർ ചോദിക്കും.
18 But, I, will utterly, hide, my face, in that day, because of all the wickedness which they have done, in that they have turned away unto other gods.
അവർ അന്യദേവന്മാരിലേക്കു പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞ് ചെയ്ത സകലദുഷ്ടതകളുംനിമിത്തം ആ ദിവസം ഞാൻ എന്റെ മുഖം അവരിൽനിന്നും നിശ്ചയമായും മറയ്ക്കും.
19 Now, therefore write ye for you this Song, and teach it unto the sons of Israel put it in their mouths, —that this Song may become for me a witness against the sons of Israel.
“ഇപ്പോൾ നീ തന്നെ ഈ ഗീതം എഴുതി ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുക. ഇസ്രായേൽജനം ഈ ഗീതം ആലപിക്കട്ടെ. അങ്ങനെ ഈ ഗീതം ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കെതിരേ എനിക്കുള്ള ഒരു സാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കും.
20 When I bring them upon the soil which I sware unto their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall eat and be filled and wax fat, then will they turn away unto other gods and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.
ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു നൽകുമെന്നു ശപഥത്താൽ വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശത്ത് ഞാൻ അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നശേഷം അവർ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു തൃപ്തരായി ചീർത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ അന്യദേവന്മാരിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞ് അവയെ ആരാധിക്കുകയും എന്നോടുള്ള ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ച് എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
21 And it shall come to pass, when many calamities and misfortunes shall find them out, then shall this Song respond to their face, as a witness, for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouth of their seed, for I know their imagination, which they are forming to-day, ere yet I bring them into the land of which I sware unto their fathers.
നിരവധി അത്യാഹിതങ്ങളും കഷ്ടതകളും അവരുടെമേൽ വരുമ്പോൾ ഈ ഗീതം അവർക്കെതിരേ സാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കും. കാരണം അവരുടെ സന്തതികൾ ഇതു മറന്നുപോകുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ അവർക്കു നൽകുമെന്ന് ശപഥംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്ക് അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതിനു മുമ്പുതന്നെ അവർ ചെയ്യാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.”
22 Moses therefore wrote this Song on that day, —and taught it unto the sons of Israel.
അങ്ങനെ മോശ ആ ദിവസംതന്നെ ഈ ഗീതം എഴുതി ഇസ്രായേല്യരെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു.
23 And he commanded Joshua, son of Nun, and said—Be firm and bold, for, thou shalt bring the sons of Israel into the land which I have sworn to them, —and, I, will be with thee.
യഹോവ നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവയ്ക്ക് ഈ കൽപ്പന നൽകി: “ഉറപ്പും ധൈര്യവും ഉള്ളവനായിരിക്കുക. ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തോട്, അവർക്കു നൽകുമെന്നു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത ദേശത്ത് നീ അവരെ എത്തിക്കും. ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും.”
24 And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law, upon a scroll, —until he had finished them,
മോശ ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ ആദ്യവസാനം ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിത്തീർന്നശേഷം
25 then Moses commanded the Levites, who were bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, saying:
യഹോവയുടെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകം വഹിക്കുന്ന ലേവ്യരോട് മോശെ ഇങ്ങനെ കൽപ്പിച്ചു:
26 Take this scroll of the law, and put it at the side of the ark of the covenant of Yahweh your God, —so shall it be there in thy midst as a witness.
“ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണഗ്രന്ഥം എടുത്ത് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകത്തിനു സമീപം വെക്കുക. അത് അവിടെ നിനക്കെതിരേ സാക്ഷ്യമായിരിക്കും.
27 For, I, know thy perverseness, and thy stiff neck, —lo! while I am yet alive with you to-day, ye are, quarrelling, with Yahweh, and how much more after my death?
നിങ്ങൾ എത്ര മൽസരികളും ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ളവരും ആണെന്ന് എനിക്കറിയാം. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയോടു മത്സരികളായിരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ മരണശേഷം അത് എത്ര അധികം!
28 Call together unto me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, —and let me speak in their hearing these words, and let me take to witness against them the heavens and the earth.
നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളിലെയും നേതാക്കന്മാരെയും ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടുക. ഞാൻ ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ അവർ കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിനു പ്രസ്താവിക്കും, അവർക്കുനേരേ സാക്ഷിയായി ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും വിളിക്കും.
29 For I know that after my death, ye will break faith, and turn aside out of the way which I have commanded you, —and calamity will befall you in the afterpart of the days, because ye will do the thing that is wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, to provoke him with the work of your own hands.
എന്റെ മരണശേഷം, നിങ്ങൾ ഉറപ്പായും വഷളത്തം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള വഴി വിട്ടുമാറുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് എനിക്കറിയാം. നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിന്മയായതു പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾകൊണ്ട് അവിടത്തെ കോപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഭാവിയിൽ അത്യാഹിതം നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വരും.”
30 So Moses spake in the hearing of all the convocation of Israel the words of this Song, until they were ended: —
ആദിയോടന്തം മോശ ഈ ഗാനത്തിലെ വചനങ്ങൾ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലസഭയും കേൾക്കത്തക്കവിധം ചൊല്ലിക്കേൾപ്പിച്ചു.
