Deuteronomy 3
1 Then turned we and went up, the way of Bashan; and Og king of Bashan, came out to meet us, he, and all his people, to give battle at Edrei.
അനന്തരം നാം തിരിഞ്ഞു ബാശാനിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയായി പോയി; അപ്പോൾ ബാശാൻരാജാവായ ഓഗും അവന്റെ സർവ്വജനവും നമ്മുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു എദ്രെയിൽവെച്ചു പടയേറ്റു.
2 And Yahweh said unto me: Do not fear him, for into thy hand, have I delivered him and all his people and his land, —so then thou shalt do unto him, as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites who was dwelling in Heshbon.
എന്നാറെ യഹോവ എന്നോടു: അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; ഞാൻ അവനെയും അവന്റെ സർവ്വജനത്തെയും ദേശത്തെയും നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു: ഹെശ്ബോനിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്ന അമോര്യരാജാവായ സീഹോനോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നീ അവനോടും ചെയ്യും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
3 Then did Yahweh our God deliver into our hand, Og also, king of Bashan and all his people, —so we smote him until there was not left remaining to him a survivor.
അങ്ങനെ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ബാശാൻരാജാവായ ഓഗിനെയും അവന്റെ സകലജനത്തെയും നമ്മുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവന്നു ആരും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം നാം അവനെ സംഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
4 And we captured all his cities, at that time, there was no fortress which we took not from them, —sixty cities all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
അക്കാലത്തു നാം അവന്റെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളും പിടിച്ചു; നാം അവരുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നു പിടിക്കാത്ത ഒരു പട്ടണവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; ബാശാനിലെ ഓഗിന്റെ രാജ്യമായ അറുപതു പട്ടണങ്ങളുള്ള അർഗ്ഗോബ്ദേശം ഒക്കെയും
5 All these, were fortified cities each with a high wall, folding gates and a bar, —besides country towns exceeding many.
നാട്ടുപുറങ്ങളിലെ അനവധി ഊരുകളും പിടിച്ചു; ആ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം ഉയർന്ന മതിലുകളും വാതിലുകളും ഓടാമ്പലുകളുംകൊണ്ടു ഉറപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.
6 And we devoted them to destruction, doing unto them as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, —devoting to destruction every city of males, the women, and the little ones.
ഹെശ്ബോൻ രാജാവായ സീഹോനോടും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നാം അവയെ നിർമ്മൂലമാക്കി; പട്ടണംതോറും പുരുഷന്മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും നിർമ്മൂലമാക്കി.
7 But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, made we our prey.
എന്നാൽ നാൽക്കാലികളെ ഒക്കെയും പട്ടണങ്ങളിലെ അപഹൃതവും നാം കൊള്ളയിട്ടു എടുത്തു.
8 Thus did we at that time take the land out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites (which was over the Jordan), —from the ravine of Arnon as far as Mount Hermon.
ഇങ്ങനെ അക്കാലത്തു അമോര്യരുടെ രണ്ടു രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെയും കയ്യിൽനിന്നു യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ അർന്നോൻതാഴ്‌വരതുടങ്ങി ഹെർമ്മോൻപർവ്വതംവരെയുള്ള ദേശവും -
9 Sidonians, call Hermon Sirion, —but, the Amorites, call it Senir.
സീദോന്യർ ഹെർമ്മോന്നു സീര്യോൻ എന്നും അമോര്യരോ അതിന്നു സെനീർ എന്നു പേർ പറയുന്നു -
10 All the cities of the table-land, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, —unto Salecah, and Edrei, —cities of the kingdom of Og, in Bashan.
സമഭൂമിയിലെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളും ഗിലെയാദ് മുഴുവനും ബാശാനിലെ ഓഗിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തുൾപ്പെട്ട സൽക്കാ, എദ്രെയി എന്നീ പട്ടണങ്ങൾവരെയുള്ള ബാശാൻ മുഴുവനും നാം പിടിച്ചു. -
11 For, only Og, king of Bashan was left remaining of the remnant of the giants, lo! his bedstead, was a bedstead of iron, is not, the same, in Rabbath of the sons of Ammon? nine cubits, the length thereof and four cubits, the breadth thereof, by the fore-arm of a man.
ബാശാൻരാജാവായ ഓഗ് മാത്രമേ മല്ലന്മാരിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്നുള്ളു; ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ള അവന്റെ മഞ്ചം അമ്മോന്യനഗരമായ രബ്ബയിൽ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ? അതിന്നു പുരുഷന്റെ കൈക്കു ഒമ്പതു മുഴം നീളവും നാലു മുഴം വീതിയും ഉണ്ടു. -
12 And this land, took we in possession at that time, —from Aroer which is by the ravine of Arnon, and half the hill-country of Gilead and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites;
ഈ ദേശം നാം അക്കാലത്തു കൈവശമാക്കി. അർന്നോൻ താഴ്‌വരയരികെയുള്ള അരോവേർമുതൽ ഗിലെയാദ് മലനാട്ടിന്റെ പാതിയും അവിടെയുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളും ഞാൻ രൂബേന്യർക്കും ഗാദ്യർക്കും കൊടുത്തു.
13 but the remainder of Gilead, and all Bashan the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh, —all the region of the Argob with all Bashan. The same, is called, A land of giants.
ശേഷം ഗിലെയാദും ഓഗിന്റെ രാജ്യമായ ബാശാൻ മുഴുവനും അർഗ്ഗോബ്ദേശം മുഴുവനും ഞാൻ മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തിന്നു കൊടുത്തു. - ബാശാന്നു മുഴുവന്നും മല്ലന്മാരുടെ ദേശം എന്നു പേർ പറയുന്നു.
14 Jair, son of Manasseh, took all the region of Argob, as far as the boundary of the Geshurites, and the Maachathites, —and called them after his own name The Bashan of Havvoth-jair unto this day.
മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ യായീർ ഗെശൂര്യരുടെയും മാഖാത്യരുടെയും അതിർവരെ അർഗ്ഗോബ്ദേശം മുഴുവനും പിടിച്ചു തന്റെ പേരിൻ പ്രകാരം ബാശാന്നു ഹവോത്ത് - യായീർ എന്നു പേർ ഇട്ടു; ഇന്നുവരെ ആ പേർ തന്നേ പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു. -
15 And, unto Machir, gave I Gilead;
മാഖീരിന്നു ഞാൻ ഗിലെയാദ്‌ദേശം കൊടുത്തു.
16 And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites, gave I—from Gilead even as far as the ravine of Arnon, the middle of the ravine and boundary, —even as far as the Jabbok ravine, the boundary of the sons of Ammon;
രൂബേന്യർക്കും ഗാദ്യർക്കും ഗിലെയാദ് മുതൽ അർന്നോൻതാഴ്‌വരയുടെ മദ്ധ്യപ്രദേശവും അതിരും അമ്മോന്യരുടെ അതിരായ യബ്ബോക്ക്തോടുവരെയും
17 the Waste Plain also and the Jordan and boundary, —from Chinnereth, even as far as the sea of the Waste Plain the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah, on the east.
കിന്നേറെത്ത് തുടങ്ങി കിഴക്കോട്ടു പിസ്ഗയുടെ ചരിവിന്നു താഴെ ഉപ്പുകടലായ അരാബയിലെ കടൽവരെ അരാബയും യോർദ്ദാൻപ്രദേശവും ഞാൻ കൊടുത്തു.
18 So I commanded you, at that time saying, —Yahweh your God hath given unto you this land to possess it, armed, shall ye pass over before your brethren the sons of Israel all the sons of valour,
അക്കാലത്തു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഈ ദേശത്തെ അവകാശമായി തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളിൽ യുദ്ധപ്രാപ്തന്മാരായ എല്ലാവരും യിസ്രായേല്യരായ നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു മുമ്പായി യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി കടന്നുപോകേണം
19 Only, your wives and your little ones and your cattle—I know that ye have much cattle—shall abide in your cities which I have given unto you;
നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും മക്കളും നിങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകളും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കട്ടെ; ആടുമാടുകൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വളരെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു എനിക്കു അറിയാം.
20 until that Yahweh shall give rest unto your brethren, as well as you, so shall, they too, possess the land which, Yahweh your God, is giving unto them, over the Jordan, —then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given unto you.
യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കും സ്വസ്ഥത നല്കുകയും യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തെ അവർ കൈവശമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുവോളം തന്നേ. പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള അവകാശത്തിന്നു മടങ്ങിപ്പോരേണം.
21 Joshua also, commanded I, at that time saying, —Thine are the eyes, that have seen all that Yahweh your God hath done unto these two kings, thus, will Yahweh do unto all the kingdoms whereunto thou, art passing over:
അക്കാലത്തു ഞാൻ യോശുവയോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആ രണ്ടു രാജാക്കന്മാരോടു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും നീ കണ്ണാലെ കണ്ടുവല്ലോ; നീ കടന്നുചെല്ലുന്ന സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളോടും യഹോവ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യും.
22 ye shall not fear them, —for, Yahweh your God, he, it is that is fighting for you.
നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയല്ലോ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതു.
23 Then sought I Yahweh at that time, for a favour saying:
അക്കാലത്തു ഞാൻ യഹോവയോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു:
24 My Lord Yahweh, thou thyself, hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy firm hand, —as to which, what GOD is there, in the heavens or in the earth, that can do according to thy doings, and according to thy mighty deeds?
കർത്താവായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ മഹത്വവും നിന്റെ ഭുജവീര്യവും അടിയനെ കാണിച്ചുതുടങ്ങിയല്ലോ; നിന്റെ ക്രിയകൾപോലെയും നിന്റെ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികൾപോലെയും ചെയ്‌വാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ദൈവം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലാകട്ടെ ഭൂമിയിലാകട്ടെ ആരുള്ളു?
25 Let me pass over, I pray thee that I may see the good land that is over the Jordan, —this good mountain, and the Lebanon.
ഞാൻ കടന്നുചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുള്ള നല്ല ദേശവും മനോഹരമായ പർവ്വതവും ലെബാനോനും ഒന്നു കണ്ടുകൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
26 But Yahweh had been provoked with me for your sakes, and hearkened not unto me, —and Yahweh said unto me, Enough for thee! do not add a word unto me further in this matter.
എന്നാൽ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിമിത്തം എന്നോടു കോപിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടതുമില്ല. യഹോവ എന്നോടു: മതി; ഈ കാര്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇനി എന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കരുതു;
27 Ascend the top of the Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes—westward, and northward and southward and eastward—and see with thine own eyes, —for thou shalt not pass over this Jordan.
പിസ്ഗയുടെ മുകളിൽ കയറി തല പൊക്കി പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും വടക്കോട്ടും തെക്കോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും നോക്കിക്കാൺക;
28 But command thou Joshua and confirm him and embolden him, —for, he, shall pass over before this people, and, he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.
ഈ യോർദ്ദാൻ നീ കടക്കയില്ല; യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചു അവനെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തി ഉറപ്പിക്ക; അവൻ നായകനായി ഈ ജനത്തെ അക്കരെ കടത്തും; നീ കാണുന്ന ദേശം അവൻ അവർക്കു അവകാശമായി പങ്കിട്ടു കൊടുക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
29 So we abode in the valley, over against Beth-peor.
അങ്ങനെ നാം ബേത്ത്‒പെയോരിന്നെതിരെ താഴ്‌വരയിൽ പാർത്തു.
