Deuteronomy 28
1 And it shall be, if thou wilt, hearken, unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which I am commanding thee to-day, then will Yahweh thy God set thee on high, above all the nations of the earth;
നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ പൂർണമായി അനുസരിക്കുകയും ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന കൽപ്പനകളെല്ലാം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ പാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സകലജനതകൾക്കും മീതേ ഉന്നതനാക്കും.
2 and all these blessings shall come in upon thee, and reach thee, —because thou dost hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God: —
നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ അനുസരിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ ഈ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ നിന്റെമേൽ വരികയും നിന്നെ പിൻതുടരുകയും ചെയ്യും.
3 Blessed shalt, thou be in the city, —and blessed shalt thou be in the field:
നഗരത്തിൽ നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും, വയലിൽ നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground and the fruit of thy cattle, —the young of thy kine, and the ewes of thy flock:
നിന്റെ ഗർഭഫലം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും. നിന്റെ നിലത്തെ വിളവും കന്നുകാലികളുടെ കിടാങ്ങളും—വളർത്തുമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ കിടാങ്ങളും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിലെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളും—അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.
5 Blessed, shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough:
നിന്റെ കുട്ടയും മാവു കുഴയ്ക്കുന്ന തൊട്ടിയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.
6 Blessed, shalt thou be when thou comest in, —and, blessed, shalt thou be when thou goest out:
നീ അകത്തുവരുമ്പോൾ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും. നീ പുറത്തുപോകുമ്പോൾ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.
7 Yahweh will deliver thine enemies who rise up against thee, to be routed before thee, —one way, shall they come out against thee, and seven ways, shall they flee before thee:
നിനക്ക് എതിരായി എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്ന ശത്രുക്കളെ യഹോവ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തും. അവർ നിന്റെനേരേ ഒരു വഴിയായി വരും. ഏഴുവഴിയായി ഓടിപ്പോകും.
8 Yahweh will command to be with thee the blessing, in thy storehouses and in all whereunto thou settest thy hand, —and will bless thee in the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee:
യഹോവ നിന്റെ കളപ്പുരകളിലും നീ കൈവെക്കുന്ന സകലത്തിലും അനുഗ്രഹം അയയ്ക്കും. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.
9 Yahweh will confirm thee unto himself for a holy people, as he sware unto thee, —because thou dost keep the commandments of Yahweh thy God, and dost walk in his ways.
നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കൽപ്പനകൾ പാലിച്ച് അവിടത്തെ വഴികളിൽ നടക്കുമെങ്കിൽ യഹോവ വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നെ വിശുദ്ധജനമായി അവിടന്ന് സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുത്തും.
10 And all the peoples of the earth shall see that, the name of Yahweh, hath been called upon thee, —and shall be afraid of thee.
അപ്പോൾ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജനതകളും നീ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞ് അവർ നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടും.
11 And Yahweh will cause thee to abound in that which is good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle and in the fruit of thy soil, —upon the soil which Yahweh sware unto thy fathers, to give unto thee:
യഹോവ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു നൽകുമെന്നു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത ദേശത്ത് നിന്റെ ഗർഭഫലത്തിലും നിന്റെ കന്നുകാലികളുടെ കിടാങ്ങളിലും നിന്റെ നിലത്തെ വിളവുകളിലും യഹോവ നിനക്കു സമൃദ്ധമായ അഭിവൃദ്ധി നൽകും.
12 Yahweh will open unto thee his rich storehouse—the heavens, to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless every work of thy hand, so shalt thou lend unto many nations, but thou, shalt not borrow:
യഹോവ തന്റെ സ്വർഗീയഭണ്ഡാരം തുറന്ന് യഥാസമയം നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു മഴ നൽകുകയും നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. നീ അനേകം ജനതകൾക്കു വായ്പ കൊടുക്കും, എന്നാൽ ആരിൽനിന്നും നീ കടം വാങ്ങുകയില്ല.
13 And Yahweh, will give thee, to be the head, and not the tail, and thou shalt be only above, and shalt not be beneath, —because thou dost hearken unto the commandments of Yahweh thy God, which I am commanding thee, to-day, to observe and to do;
ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കൽപ്പനകൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയും സൂക്ഷ്മതയോടെ അനുസരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ നീ എപ്പോഴും മുൻനിരയിലായിരിക്കും; ഒരിക്കലും പിൻനിരയിലാകുകയില്ല. യഹോവ നിന്നെ വാലല്ല, തലയാക്കും.
14 and dost not turn side from any of the words which I am commanding you to-day, to the right hand or to the left, —to go after other gods, to serve them,
ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഏതെങ്കിലും കൽപ്പനയിൽനിന്ന് ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ മാറി അന്യദേവന്മാരുടെ പിന്നാലെപോയി അവയെ സേവിക്കരുത്.
15 But it shall be, if thou do not hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I am commanding thee to-day, then shall come in upon thee all these curses and shall reach thee: —
എന്നാൽ നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അനുസരിക്കാതെയും ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ പാലിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ ഈ ശാപങ്ങൾ നിന്റെമേൽ വന്ന് അതു നിന്നെ അധീനപ്പെടുത്തും:
16 Cursed, shalt thou be in the city, —and cursed, shalt thou be in the field:
നഗരത്തിൽ നീ ശപിക്കപ്പെടും, വയലിൽ നീ ശപിക്കപ്പെടും
17 Cursed, shall be thy basket, and thy kneading-trough:
നിന്റെ കുട്ടയും മാവു കുഴയ്ക്കുന്ന തൊട്ടിയും ശപിക്കപ്പെടും.
18 Cursed, shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground—the young of thy kine and the ewes of thy flock:
നിന്റെ ഗർഭഫലം ശപിക്കപ്പെടും. നിന്റെ നിലത്തെ വിളവും കന്നുകാലികളുടെ കിടാങ്ങളും, വളർത്തുമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ കിടാക്കളും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിലെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളും ശപിക്കപ്പെടും.
19 Cursed, shalt thou be, when thou comest in, —and, cursed, shalt thou be, when thou goest out:
നീ അകത്തുവരുമ്പോൾ ശപിക്കപ്പെടും. നീ പുറത്തുപോകുമ്പോൾ ശപിക്കപ്പെടും.
20 Yahweh will send upon thee cursing, confusion and rebuke, in all whereunto thou settest thy hand that thou mayest do it, —until thou be destroyed and until thou perish quickly, because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് നീ ചെയ്ത തിന്മപ്രവൃത്തികൾനിമിത്തം നീ നശിച്ച് വേഗത്തിൽ ശിഥിലമാകുന്നതുവരെ അവിടന്ന് നീ കൈ തൊടുന്ന സകലത്തിന്മേലും ശാപവും വിഭ്രാന്തിയും അസ്വസ്ഥതയും അയയ്ക്കും.
21 Yahweh will cause to cleave unto thee—the pestilence, —until he hath consumed thee from off the soil which thou art entering to possess.
നീ അവകാശമാക്കാൻ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് നിന്നെ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യുന്നതുവരെ യഹോവ നിനക്കു മഹാവ്യാധി വരുത്തും.
22 Yahweh, will smite thee, with consumption and with fever, and with inflammation and with violent heat and with the sword, and with blight and with mildew, —and they shall pursue thee, until thou perish.
പനി, നീർവീക്കം, കഠിനചൂട്, വരൾച്ച, പൂപ്പൽ, പുഴുക്കുത്ത് എന്നീ ക്ഷയിപ്പിക്കുന്ന രോഗങ്ങൾ യഹോവ നിനക്കു വരുത്തും. നീ നശിക്കുംവരെ അവ മഹാവ്യാധിയായി നിന്നെ പിൻതുടരും.
23 And thy heavens which are over thy head shall become bronze, —and the earth which is under thee iron.
നിന്റെ തലയ്ക്കു മുകളിലുള്ള ആകാശം വെങ്കലവും താഴെയുള്ള ഭൂമി ഇരുമ്പും ആയിത്തീരും.
24 Yahweh will cause the rain of thy land to be powder and dust, —out of the heavens, shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
യഹോവ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെ മഴയെ ധൂളിയും പൊടിയും ആക്കും. നീ നശിക്കുംവരെ അവ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു നിന്റെമേൽ പെയ്യും.
25 Yahweh will give thee up to be routed before thine enemies, one way, shalt thou go out against them, and, seven ways, shalt thou flee before them, —and thou shalt become a terror unto all the kingdoms of the earth.
യഹോവ ശത്രുക്കളുടെമുമ്പിൽ നിന്നെ തോൽക്കുമാറാക്കും. നീ ഒരു വഴിയായി അവരെ എതിരിടും. ഏഴുവഴിയായി അവരുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോകും. നിനക്കു സംഭവിക്കുന്നതു കാണുന്ന ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കും നീ ഒരു ഭീതിവിഷയമാകും.
26 And thy dead body shall become food for every bird of the heavens, and for the beast of the earth, —with none to fright them away.
നിന്റെ പിണം ആകാശത്തിലെ സകലപക്ഷികൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിലെ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഭക്ഷണമായിത്തീരും. അവയെ ഓടിച്ചുകളയാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയില്ല.
27 Yahweh, will smite thee, with the burning sores of Egypt and with the hemorrhoids, and with scab, and with itch, —of which thou canst not be healed.
യഹോവ നിന്നെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ പരുക്കൾ, മൂലവ്യാധി, ചൊറി, ചിരങ്ങ് എന്നീ തീരാവ്യാധികളാൽ ബാധിക്കും.
28 Yahweh, will smite thee, with madness and with blindness, —and with terror of heart;
ഭ്രാന്ത്, അന്ധത, മാനസികവിഭ്രാന്തി എന്നിവയാൽ യഹോവ നിന്നെ ബാധിക്കും.
29 and thou shalt he groping about in noonday brightness, as the blind man gropeth in thick darkness, and thou shalt not make thy ways prosper, —but shalt be only oppressed and spoiled all the days with none to save.
അന്ധർ ഇരുട്ടിൽ തപ്പുന്നതുപോലെ നീ ഉച്ചസമയത്തു തപ്പിനടക്കും. നിന്റെ വഴികളിലൊന്നും നിനക്കു ഗുണം വരികയില്ല. നീ നിരന്തരം പീഡിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയും കവർച്ചയ്ക്കിരയാകുകയും ചെയ്യും. നിന്നെ വിടുവിക്കാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.
30 A wife, shalt thou betroth, and, another man shall lie with her. A house, shalt thou build, and shalt not dwell therein, —A vineyard, shalt thou plant, and shalt not throw it open;
നീ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹത്തിനു നിശ്ചയിക്കും. മറ്റൊരുവൻ അവളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും ബലാൽക്കാരംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യും. നീ വീടുപണിയും. എന്നാൽ അതിൽ നീ വസിക്കുകയില്ല. നീ മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പു നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കും, എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ ഫലവും നീ അനുഭവിക്കുകയില്ല.
31 Thine ox slaughtered before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof, Thine ass stolen from before thee, and shall not be restored to thee, —Thy flock given to thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to save.
നിന്റെ കാളയെ നിന്റെ കൺമുമ്പിൽ അറക്കും, എന്നാൽ നീ അതിന്റെ മാംസം ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല. നിന്റെ കഴുതയെ നിന്നിൽനിന്ന് അപഹരിക്കും. നിനക്കു തിരികെ കിട്ടുകയുമില്ല. നിന്റെ ആടുകൾ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കു സ്വന്തമാകും, അവയെ ആരും രക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല.
32 Thy sons and thy daughters given to another people, thine eyes looking on, and failing for them all the day, thine own hand being powerless.
നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും അന്യരാജ്യക്കാർ കൊണ്ടുപോകും. ദിനംതോറും അവരെ കാത്തിരുന്ന് നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ ക്ഷീണിക്കും, നിന്റെ ശക്തിക്ഷയിച്ച് കരം ചലിപ്പിക്കാൻപോലും സാധിക്കുകയില്ല,
33 The fruit of thy soil, and all thy toilsome produce, shall a people whom thou knowest not, eat up, —and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed, all the days;
നിന്റെ നിലത്തെ വിളവും അധ്വാനഫലവും നീ അറിയാത്ത ജനത അനുഭവിക്കും, ഞെരുക്കവും പീഡനവും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും നിന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തൊരിക്കലും ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല.
34 so that thou shalt be mad, —for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
നീ കാണുന്ന കാഴ്ചകൾ നിന്നെ ഭ്രാന്തനാക്കും.
35 Yahweh, will smite thee, with a grievous boil, upon the knees and upon the legs, of which thou canst not be healed, —from the sole of thy foot even unto the crown of thy head.
സൗഖ്യമാകാത്ത വേദനയുള്ള പരുക്കളാൽ നിന്റെ ഉള്ളംകാൽമുതൽ നെറുകവരെ കാലിലും മുഴങ്കാലിലും എല്ലാം യഹോവ നിന്നെ കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തും.
36 Yahweh will bring thee and thy king whom thou wilt set up over thee, unto a nation which thou hast not known, thou nor thy fathers, —and thou shalt serve there other gods of wood and of stone.
യഹോവ നിന്നെയും നിന്റെമേൽ നിയോഗിച്ച രാജാവിനെയും നീയും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ജനതയുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക് ഓടിച്ചുകളയും. അവിടെ നീ മരവും കല്ലുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ദേവന്മാരെ ആരാധിക്കും.
37 Thus shalt thou become a horror, a byword, and a mockery, among all the peoples whither Yahweh thy God will drive thee.
യഹോവ നിന്നെ അയയ്ക്കുന്ന സകലജനതകളുടെയും മധ്യേ നീ ഭീതിവിഷയവും പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവാക്കും ആയിത്തീരും.
38 Much seed, shalt thou take out into the field, —and little, shalt thou gather in, for the locust shall consume it.
നീ വളരെ വിത്ത് വയലിൽ വിതയ്ക്കും, എന്നാൽ വെട്ടുക്കിളികൾ അവ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അൽപ്പംമാത്രം കൊയ്യും.
39 Vineyards, shalt thou plant, and dress, —but wine, shalt thou not drink, neither shalt thou gather the grapes, for the worm shall eat them.
നീ മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പു നട്ട് കൃഷി ചെയ്യും, എന്നാൽ പുഴു തിന്നുകളയുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് വീഞ്ഞുകുടിക്കുകയോ മുന്തിരി ശേഖരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല.
40 Olive trees, shalt thou have in all thy bounds, —but with oil, shalt thou not anoint thyself, for thine olives, shall drop off.
നിനക്ക് ദേശത്തെല്ലാം ഒലിവുമരങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകും, എന്നാൽ ഒലിവുകായ്കൾ പൊഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ എണ്ണ ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയില്ല.
41 Sons and daughters, shalt thou beget, and they shall not be thine, for they shall go into captivity.
നിനക്ക് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടാകും: എന്നാൽ അവർ നിനക്കു സ്വന്തമാകുകയില്ല, അവർ അടിമകളായി പോകും.
42 All thy trees, and the fruit of thy ground, shall the grasshopper, devour.
നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെ വിളവുകളും വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും വെട്ടുക്കിളികളുടെ കൂട്ടം തിന്നുകളയും.
43 The sojourner who is in thy midst, shall mount up above thee higher and higher, —whereas, thou, shalt come down lower and lower:
നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള പ്രവാസി നിനക്കുമീതേ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെട്ട് ഉയർന്നുവരും, എന്നാൽ നീ ക്ഷയിച്ച് താണുപോകും.
44 he, shall lend to thee, but, thou, shalt not lend to him, —he, shall become head, and, thou, shalt become tail.
അവർ നിനക്കു വായ്പ നൽകും, എന്നാൽ അവർക്കു വായ്പ നൽകാൻ നിനക്കു സാധിക്കുകയില്ല. അവർ തലയും നീ വാലും ആയിരിക്കും.
45 Moreover, all these curses, shall come in upon thee, and pursue thee and overtake thee, until thou be destroyed, —because thou didst not hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he hath commanded thee;
ഈ ശാപമെല്ലാം നിന്റെമേൽ വന്നുഭവിക്കും. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു നൽകിയ കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും പാലിക്കാതെയും അവിടത്തെ അനുസരിക്കാതെയുമിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ ഉന്മൂലമാകുന്നതുവരെ അവ നിന്നെ പിൻതുടരുകയും അധീനപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.
46 and they shall be upon thee, for a sign, and for a wonder, and upon thy seed, unto times age-abiding.
അവ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും ഒരു ചിഹ്നവും അത്ഭുതവും ആയി എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കും.
47 Because thou servedst not Yahweh thy God, with rejoicing, and with gladness of heart, for abundance of all things,
നിന്റെ ഐശ്വര്യസമൃദ്ധിയുടെ സമയത്ത് നീ ആഹ്ലാദത്തോടും ആനന്ദത്തോടുംകൂടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ സേവിക്കാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്,
48 therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies, whom Yahweh will send against thee, with hunger and with thirst and with nakedness, and with want of all things, —and he, will put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he hath destroyed thee.
വിശപ്പിലും ദാഹത്തിലും നഗ്നതയിലും ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിലും യഹോവ നിനക്കുനേരേ അയയ്ക്കുന്ന ശത്രുക്കളെ നീ സേവിക്കും. അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുവരെ നിന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ ഇരുമ്പുനുകം വെക്കും.
49 Yahweh will bring against thee a nation from afar, from the end of the earth, as darteth a bird of prey, —a nation whose tongue thou canst not understand;
വളരെ അകലെനിന്നും, ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നുതന്നെ, കഴുകൻ പറന്നിറങ്ങി വരുന്നതുപോലെ യഹോവ ഒരു ജനതയെ നിന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തും. അവർ നീ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ജനതയും
50 a nation of fierce countenance, —who wilt not respect an elder nor to the young, show favour;
വൃദ്ധരെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുകയോ യുവാക്കളോടു കരുണകാണിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാത്ത ക്രൂരമുഖമുള്ള ജനതയുമാകുന്നു.
51 then shall he eat the young of thy cattle and the fruit of thy ground until thou art destroyed, who will not leave for thee corn, new wine or oil, the young of thy kine, or the ewes of thy flock, —until he hath caused thee to perish.
നീ നശിക്കുംവരെ അവർ നിന്റെ മൃഗഫലവും കൃഷിഫലവും തിന്നും. നീ ശിഥിലമാകുന്നതുവരെ നിന്റെ ധാന്യമോ പുതുവീഞ്ഞോ ഒലിവെണ്ണയോ കാളക്കിടാങ്ങളെയോ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെയോ നിനക്കു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കുകയില്ല.
52 And he shall lay siege to thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fortified walls come down wherein thou wast trusting, in all thy land, —yea he will lay siege to thee in all thy gates, in all thy land which Yahweh thy God, hath given, unto thee.
നിന്റെ ദേശത്ത് എങ്ങും നീ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന ഉയരവും ഉറപ്പും ഉള്ള മതിലുകൾ വീഴുന്നതുവരെ അവർ നിന്നെ ഉപരോധിക്കും. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു നൽകിയ ദേശത്ത് എങ്ങുമുള്ള എല്ലാ നഗരങ്ങളിലും നിന്നെ ഉപരോധിക്കും.
53 And thou wilt eat the fruit of thy body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, whom Yahweh thy God hath given unto thee—in the siege and in the straitness wherewith thine enemy will straiten thee.
ഉപരോധകാലത്തെ ശത്രുവിന്റെ പീഡനത്തിന്റെയും കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തലിന്റെയും ആധിക്യംനിമിത്തം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ഗർഭഫലമായ പുത്രന്മാരുടെയും പുത്രിമാരുടെയും മാംസം നീ ഭക്ഷിക്കും.
54 The man that is tender among you, and exceedingly delicate, his eye will be jealous of his brother and of the wife of his bosom, and of the remnant of his sons, whom be might leave behind;
നിങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിലുള്ള മൃദുലഹൃദയനും ആർദ്രതയുള്ളവനുമായ പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും താൻ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ഭാര്യയോടും ശേഷിക്കുന്ന മക്കളോടും ദയ കാണിക്കാതെ
55 so that he will not give to any one of them, of the flesh of his sons which he will eat, because he hath nothing at all left him, —in the siege and in the straitness wherewith thine enemy will straiten thee within all thy gates.
അവരിൽ ഒരാൾക്കുപോലും താൻ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്ന മക്കളുടെ മാംസം അശേഷം നൽകുകയില്ല. ശത്രു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം ഉപരോധിച്ചു പീഡിപ്പിക്കുകയും ദുരിതത്തിലാഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുമൂലം നിനക്ക് ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.
56 The tender and delicate woman among you who hath never adventured the sole of her foot to set it upon the ground, through delicateness and through tenderness, her eye shall be jealous of the husband of her bosom, and of her own son, and of her own daughter;
നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ളവളും, ദേഹമാർദവത്താലും കോമളത്വത്താലും ഉള്ളംകാൽ നിലത്തു ചവിട്ടാൻപോലും മടിക്കുന്ന മൃദുലഹൃദയമുള്ളവളും ആർദ്രതയുള്ളവളുമായ സ്ത്രീപോലും, താൻ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ഭർത്താവിനെയും പുത്രീപുത്രന്മാരെയും കരുണയില്ലാതെ നോക്കും.
57 both as to her afterbirth that cometh forth from between her feet and as to her children which she shall bear, for she will eat them for want of all things secretly, —in the siege and in the straitness wherewith thine enemy will straiten thee within thine own gates.
ശത്രു നിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നെ ഉപരോധിച്ചു പീഡിപ്പിക്കുകയും ദുരിതത്തിലാഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുമൂലം സകലത്തിന്റെയും ദൗർലഭ്യം നിമിത്തം അവൾ തന്റെ ഉദരത്തിൽനിന്നു വരുന്ന മറുപിള്ളയെയും താൻ പ്രസവിക്കുന്ന കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും രഹസ്യമായി ഭക്ഷിക്കും.
58 If thou wilt not take heed to do all the words of this law, which are written in this scroll, —to revere this glorious and reverend name, Yahweh thy God,
നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്ന മഹത്ത്വമുള്ളതും ഭയങ്കരവുമായ നാമം ഭയപ്പെട്ട് ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന സകലവചനങ്ങളും നീ പ്രമാണിക്കണം.
59 then will Yahweh make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, —plagues great and lasting, and diseases grievous and lasting;
അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെയും നിന്റെ സന്തതിയുടെയുംമേൽ അസാധാരണമായ വ്യാധികളും കഠിനവും ദുഃഖകരവും ദീർഘനാളുകൾ നിലനിൽക്കുന്നതുമായ രോഗങ്ങളും അയയ്ക്കും.
60 and he will bring back on thee all the sickness of Egypt, because of which thou wast afraid, —and they shall cleave unto thee;
നീ ഭയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ വ്യാധികളെല്ലാം അവിടന്ന് നിന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തും. അവയിൽനിന്നു നിനക്കൊരു മോചനവും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.
61 even every disease and, every plague, which are not written in this scroll of the law, will Yahweh bring up against thee, until thou art destroyed,
ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണഗ്രന്ഥത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലാത്ത സകലവിധ രോഗങ്ങളും അത്യാഹിതങ്ങളും നീ നശിച്ചുതീരുംവരെ യഹോവ നിനക്കു വരുത്തും.
62 And ye shall be left men few in number, whereas ye had become as the stars of the heavens for multitude, —because thou hast not hearkened unto the voice of Yahweh thy God.
നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അനുസരിക്കാത്തതുകൊണ്ട്, ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ അസംഖ്യം ആയിരുന്ന നിങ്ങൾ ചുരുക്കംപേരായി ശേഷിക്കും.
63 And it shall come to pass that as Yahweh rejoiced over you to do you good and to multiply you, so, will Yahweh rejoice over you, to cause you to perish and to destroy you, —and ye shall be torn away, from off the soil, whither thou art going in to possess it;
നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഐശ്വര്യസമൃദ്ധി ഉണ്ടാകാനും എണ്ണത്തിൽ വർധിക്കാനും യഹോവയ്ക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയതുപോലെ, നിങ്ങൾ അവകാശമാക്കാൻപോകുന്ന ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് നിങ്ങളെ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യാനും ശിഥിലമാക്കാനും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയാനും യഹോവയ്ക്കു പ്രസാദമാകും.
64 and Yahweh will scatter thee among all the peoples, from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth, —and thou wilt serve there other gods whom thou hast not known—thou nor thy fathers, —of wood and of stone.
യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഒരറ്റംമുതൽ മറ്റേയറ്റംവരെ ജനതകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചിതറിച്ചുകളയും. അവിടെ നീയും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത മരവും കല്ലുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള അന്യദേവന്മാരെ നീ ആരാധിക്കും.
65 And among those nations, shalt thou find no ease, neither shall there be a place of rest for the sole of thy foot, —but Yahweh will give unto thee there a trembling heart, and a failing of eyes and faintness of soul.
ആ ജനതകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്റെ കാലിനു വിശ്രമം ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല; നീ സ്വസ്ഥത കണ്ടെത്തുകയുമില്ല. അവിടെ യഹോവ നിനക്ക് ഉത്കണ്ഠാകുലമായ മനസ്സും കാത്തിരുന്നു തളർന്ന കണ്ണുകളും ഭീതിനിറഞ്ഞ ഹൃദയവും നൽകും.
66 And thy life will be hung up for thee in front, —and thou wilt be in dread by night and by day, and wilt not trust in thy life.
അവിടെ നീ നിരന്തരം അനിശ്ചിതത്വത്തിലും രാവും പകലും ഭയത്തിലും ജീവന് ഉറപ്പില്ലാതെയും ജീവിക്കും.
67 In the morning, thou wilt say—Oh that it were evening! and in the evening, thou wilt say—Oh that it were morning! because of the dread of thy heart which thou wilt dread, and because of the sight of thine eyes which thou wilt see.
ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിറയുന്ന ഭീതി നിമിത്തവും കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണുന്ന കാഴ്ച നിമിത്തവും “സായാഹ്നമായെങ്കിൽ!” എന്നു പ്രഭാതത്തിലും “പ്രഭാതമായെങ്കിൽ!” എന്നു സായാഹ്നത്തിലും നീ പറയും.
68 And Yahweh will take thee back again to Egypt in ships, by the way whereof I said unto thee, Thou shalt not again any more see it. And ye will offer yourselves there for sale unto thine enemies as servants and as handmaids with no one to buy.
നീ ഇനി ഒരിക്കലും തിരിച്ചുപോകരുത് എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ച ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്ക് തിരികെ യഹോവ നിന്നെ കപ്പലിൽ കയറ്റി അയയ്ക്കും. അവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്ത്രീകളും പുരുഷന്മാരും ദാസന്മാരും ദാസിമാരുമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കു വിൽക്കപ്പെടാൻ തയ്യാറാകും. പക്ഷേ, ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വാങ്ങുകയില്ല.
