< Deuteronomy 27 >

1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people saying, —Observe all the commandment which I am commanding you to-day.
And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded, saying, Keep all these commands, all that I command you this day.
2 So then it shall be in the day when ye shall pass over the Jordan, into the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee, —that thou shalt rear thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster;
And it shall come to pass in the day when you shall cross over Jordan into the land which the Lord your God gives you, that you shall set up for yourself great stones, and shall plaster them with plaster.
3 and shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou shalt pass over, —to the end that thou mayest enter upon the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh the God of thy fathers hath spoken unto thee.
And you shall write on these stones all the words of this law, as soon as you have crossed Jordan, when you are entered into the land, which the Lord God of your fathers gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, according as the Lord God of your fathers said to you.
4 So then it shall be when ye shall pass over the Jordan, that ye shall rear up these stones which I am commanding you to-day in Mount Ebal, —and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.
And it shall be as soon as you are gone over Jordan, you shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, on mount Gaebal, and you shall plaster them with plaster.
5 And thou shalt build there an altar unto Yahweh thy God, —an altar of stones, thou shalt not wield thereupon any tool of iron.
And you shall build there an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones; you shall not lift up iron upon it.
6 Of whole stones, shalt thou build the altar of Yahweh thy God, —then shalt thou cause to go up thereon ascending-sacrifices, unto Yahweh thy God;
Of whole stones shall you build an altar to the Lord your God, and you shall offer upon it whole burnt offerings to the Lord your God.
7 and thou shalt sacrifice peace-offerings and shalt eat there, —and rejoice before Yahweh thy God.
And you shall there offer a peace-offering; and you shall eat and be filled, and rejoice before the Lord your God.
8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law doing it plainly and well.
And you shall write upon the stones all this law very plainly.
9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel saying, —Keep silence and hear O Israel, This day, hast thou been made a people unto Yahweh thy God.
And Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, Be silent and hear, O Israel; this day you are become a people to the Lord your God.
10 Thou shalt therefore hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, —and do his commandments and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day.
And you shall listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and shall do all his commands, and his ordinances, as many as I command you this day.
11 And Moses commanded the people on that day, saying:
And Moses charged the people on that day, saying,

13 and, these, shall stand by the curse in Mount Ebal, —Reuben Gad and Asher, and Zebulun Dan and Naphtali.
And these shall stand for cursing on mount Gaebal; Ruben, Gad, and Aser, Zabulon, Dan, and Nephthali.
14 Then shall the Levites respond and say unto every man of Israel with voice uplifted: —
