Deuteronomy 22
1 Thou shalt not see the ox of thy brother or his sheep, going astray, and turn away from them, —thou shalt, bring them back unto thy brother.
Si ves extraviado el buey o la oveja de tu hermano, no te desentenderás de ellos. Ciertamente los regresarás a tu hermano.
2 And, if thy brother be not nigh unto thee or thou know him not, then shalt thou make room for it within thee own shed and it shall be with thee, until thy brother seek after it, when thou shalt return it unto him.
Si tu hermano no es vecino tuyo, o no lo conoces, los recogerás en tu casa. Estarán contigo hasta que tu hermano los busque, y se los regresarás.
3 And, so, shalt thou do with his ass, and, so, shalt thou do with his mantle and, so, shalt thou do with any lost thing of thy brother’s, which shall go astray from him and thou shalt find, —thou mayest not turn away.
Así también harás con su asno, su ropa, y cualquier cosa que tu hermano pierda y tú la halles. No puedes desentenderte de ellas.
4 Thou shalt not see the ass of thy brother or his ox fallen in the way, and turn away from them, —thou shalt, raise, them with him.
Si ves el asno de tu hermano, o su buey, caídos en el camino, no te desentenderás de ellos. Te esforzarás con él en levantarlos.
5 A woman shall not have on the wearing apparel of a man, nor shall a man put on the mantle of a woman; for an abomination to Yahweh thy God, is any one who doeth these things.
La mujer no vestirá ropa de hombre, ni el hombre vestirá ropa de mujer, porque es repugnancia a Yavé tu ʼElohim cualquiera que hace esto.
6 When a bird’s-nest chanceth to be before thee, —in the way, in any tree or upon the ground, whether with nestlings or eggs, and, the mother, be sitting upon the nestlings or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the mother upon the young;
Cuando por el camino encuentres un nido de pájaro con polluelos o huevos en cualquier árbol o en el suelo, y la madre esté echada sobre los polluelos o sobre los huevos, no tomarás a la madre con las crías.
7 thou shalt, let go, the mother, and then, her young, mayest thou take for thyself, —that it may go well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.
Deja ir a la madre y tomarás para ti las crías, a fin de que te vaya bien y prolongues tus días.
8 When thou buildest a new house, then shalt thou make a parapet to thy roof, so shalt thou not treasure up blood-guiltiness against thy house, for he that is in danger of falling might fall therefrom.
Cuando construyas una casa nueva, harás pretil a tu terraza, no sea que si alguno cae de allí, eches delito de sangre sobre tu casa.
9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with two sorts of seed, —lest the fulness of the seed which thou sowest, and the increase of thy vineyard be profaned.
No sembrarás tu viña con semilla de dos clases, no sea que quede confiscado tanto el fruto de la semilla que sembraste como el producto de la viña.
10 Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together,
No ararás con un buey y un asno juntos.
11 Thou shalt not put on linsey-woolsey, of wool and flax together.
No vestirás una tela mezclada de lana y lino.
12 Tassels, shalt thou make thee, —on the four corners of thy vesture, wherewith thou dost cover thyself.
Te harás borlas en las cuatro puntas de tu manto con el cual te cubres.
13 When a man taketh a wife, —and goeth in unto her and hateth her;
Si un hombre toma esposa, y después de convivir con ella, la aborrece,
14 and raiseth against her occasions of speech, and bringeth upon her an evil name, and saith—This woman, I took, and approached her, and found not that she had the tokens of virginity,
la acusa de conducta vergonzosa y públicamente la difama, y dice: Tomé a esta mujer, pero cuando me uní a ella hallé que no era virgen.
15 then shall the father of the damsel and her mother take and bring forth the tokens of the virginity of the damsel, unto the elders of the city, in the gate;
Entonces el padre y la madre de la joven tomarán la evidencia de su virginidad y la llevarán a los ancianos en la puerta de la ciudad.
16 and the father of the damsel shall say unto the elders, —My daughter, gave I unto this man to wife and he hated her;
El padre de la muchacha declarará ante ellos: Di mi hija a este hombre como esposa, y él la aborrece.
17 and lo! he, hath raised occasions of speech, saying—I found not that thy daughter had the tokens of virginity and yet, these, are the tokens of the virginity of my daughter. And they shall spread out the garment before the elders of the city.
Ciertamente la acusa de conducta vergonzosa y dice: Hallé que tu hija no era virgen. Pero esta es la evidencia de la virginidad de mi hija, y extenderá el paño ante los ancianos de la ciudad.
18 Then shall the elders of that city take the man, and chastise him;
Entonces los ancianos de la ciudad tomarán al hombre y lo castigarán,
19 and fine him a hundred [shekels] of silver and give unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought an evil name upon a virgin of Israel, and she shall remain his wife, he may not put her away, all his days.
y le impondrán una multa de 1,1 kilogramos de plata, que entregarán al padre de la joven, por cuanto esparció mala fama sobre una virgen de Israel. Él la recibirá como esposa, y no podrá repudiarla en todos sus días.
20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found with the damsel,
Pero si este asunto es verdad, que no se halló evidencia de virginidad en la joven,
21 then shall they bring forth the damsel into the entrance of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die, because she hath wrought wickedness in Israel, by committing unchastity in her father’s house, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.
entonces la sacarán a la puerta de la casa de su padre, y los hombres de su ciudad la apedrearán hasta que muera, por cuanto hizo vileza en Israel al fornicar en casa de su padre. Así quitarás el mal de en medio de ti.
22 When a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then shall, both, of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman, so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of Israel.
Si alguno es sorprendido unido a una mujer casada, ambos morirán, el hombre que se unió con la mujer, y también la mujer. Así quitarás el mal de Israel.
23 When a damsel that is a virgin is betrothed to a husband, —and a man findeth her in the city, and lieth with her,
Si una joven virgen está comprometida con un hombre, y alguno la encuentra en la ciudad y se une con ella,
24 then shall ye bring them, both, out unto the gate of that city, and stone them with stones that they die, the damsel, because she made not an outcry in the city, and the man because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.
sacarán a ambos a la puerta de aquella ciudad, y los apedrearán. Morirán por esto: la muchacha, porque al estar en la ciudad no gritó, y el hombre, porque humilló a la esposa de su prójimo. Así quitarás el mal de en medio de ti.
25 But if in the field, the man find the betrothed damsel and the man force her and lie with her, then shall the man that lay with her die he alone;
Pero si el hombre encuentra a la joven comprometida en el campo, y la fuerza para unirse con ella, entonces morirá solo el hombre que se unió con ella.
26 but, unto the damsel, shalt thou do nothing, the damsel, is not guilty of a sin worthy of death, for as when a man riseth up against his neighbour, and smiteth him so as to take away life, so, is this matter;
A la joven nada le harás. La muchacha no tiene pecado digno de muerte, pues es como cuando un hombre se levanta contra su prójimo y lo mata. Así es este caso,
27 for in the field, he found her, —the betrothed damsel, made an outcry, and there was none to save her.
porque en el campo la halló, y la joven comprometida gritó, pero no hubo alguno que la auxiliara.
28 When a man findeth a damsel that is a virgin who is not betrothed, and layeth hold of her and lieth with her, and they are found,
Si un hombre halla a una joven virgen que no está comprometida, y al agarrarla se une con ella, y son descubiertos,
29 then shall the man who lay with her give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, —and she shall be, his, wife, because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away, all his days.
el hombre que se unió con ella dará al padre de la joven 550 gramos de plata, y ella será su esposa, pues él la violó. No podrá repudiarla en todos sus días.
30 A man shall not take his father’s wife, —neither shall he turn aside his father’s coverlet.
Ninguno tomará la esposa de su padre. No levantará la falda de su padre.
