Deuteronomy 10
1 At that time, said Yahweh unto me—Cut thee out two tables of stone like the first, and come up unto me into the mountain, —and make thee an ark of wood;
Abban az időben mondta az Örökkévaló nekem: Faragj magadnak kőtáblát, amint az elsők voltak, és jöjj föl hozzám a hegyre és készíts magadnak faládát.
2 that I may write, upon the tables, the words which were on the first tables which thou brakest in pieces, —then shalt thou put them in the ark.
És fölírom a táblákra az igéket, melyek az első táblákon voltak, melyeket összetörtél és tedd azokat a ládába.
3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut out two tables of stone like the first, —and went up the mountain, having the two tables in my hand.
És készítettem ládát sittimfából, kifaragtam két kőtáblát, amint az elsők voltak, fölmentem a hegyre és a két tábla a kezemben.
4 And he wrote upon the tables according to the first writing—the ten words, which Yahweh had spoken unto you in the mountain, out of the midst of the fire in the day of the convocation, —and Yahweh delivered them unto me.
És fölírta a táblákra az első írás szerint a tíz igét, melyet mondott az Örökkévaló nektek a hegyen, a tűz közül, a gyülekezés napján, és átadta azokat az Örökkévaló nekem.
5 Then turned I, and came down out of the mountain, and put the tables in the ark which I had made, —and they have remained there, as Yahweh commanded me.
És megfordultam és lejöttem a hegyről, beletettem a táblákat a ládába, melyet készítettem, és ott voltak, amint parancsolta az Örökkévaló nekem.
6 And, the sons of Israel, set forward out of Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah, —there, died Aaron and was buried there, and Eleazar his son became priest in his stead.
Izrael fiai pedig vonultak Beérosz-Bné Jaákonból Mószéroba; ott halt meg Áron és ott temettetett el, és pappá lett helyette Eleázár, az ő fia.
7 From thence, set they forward unto the Gudgodah, —and from the Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of torrents of water.
Onnan vonultak Gudgódba és Gudgódból Jotvoszoba, vízpatakok földjére.
8 At that time, did Yahweh separate the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, —to stand before Yahweh to wait upon him and to bless in his name (until this day).
Abban az időben választotta el az Örökkévaló a Lévi törzsét, hogy vigye az Örökkévaló szövetségének ládáját, hogy álljon az Örökkévaló színe előtt, hogy őt szolgálja és áldjon az ő nevében mind e mai napig.
9 For this cause, hath Levi neither portion nor inheritance with his brethren, —Yahweh, is his inheritance, as Yahweh thy God spake unto him.
Azért nem volt a Lévinek része és birtoka az ő testvéreivel, az Örökkévaló az ő birtoka, amint szólt az Örökkévaló, a te Istened hozzá.
10 But, I, stayed in the mountain according to the former days, forty days and forty nights, —and Yahweh hearkened unto me at that time also, Yahweh was not willing, to destroy thee.
Én pedig álltam a hegyen, mint az előbbi napokban, negyven nap és negyven éjjel; az Örökkévaló meghallgatott engem ezúttal is, nem akart az Örökkévaló téged megrontani.
11 So then Yahweh said unto me, Up with thee—to break away onward, before the people, —that they may enter in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers, to give unto them.
És mondta az Örökkévaló nekem: Kerekedj föl, menj, hogy vonulj a nép előtt, hogy bemenjenek és elfoglalják az országot melyről megesküdtem őseiknek, hogy nekik adom.
12 Now, therefore, O Israel, what is, Yahweh thy God, asking of thee, —but to revere Yahweh thy God to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yahweh thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul:
Most pedig Izrael, mit kíván az Örökkévaló, a te Istened tőled; minthogy féljed az Örökkévalót, a te Istenedet, hogy járj minden útjain, szeresd őt és szolgáld az Örökkévalót, a te Istenedet egész szíveddel és egész lelkeddel;
13 to keep the commandments of Yahweh and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day, —for thy good?
hogy megőrizd az Örökkévaló parancsait és törvényeit, melyeket én ma neked parancsolok a te javadra.
14 Lo! unto Yahweh thy God, belong the heavens even the highest heavens, —the earth, with all that is therein.
Íme az Örökkévalóé, a te Istenedé az ég, az egek ege, a föld és minden, ami rajta van.
15 Only unto thy fathers, Yahweh became attached so as to love them, —therefore made he choice of their seed after them—of you—out of all the peoples, (as at this day).
Csak őseidet kedvelte meg az Örökkévaló, hogy szeresse őket és kiválasztotta magzatukat utánuk, benneteket, mind a népek közül, mint a mai napon van.
16 Therefore must ye circumcise the foreskin of your hearts, —and your necks, must ye stiffen no more.
Metéljétek körül szívetek fitymáját és nyakatokat ne keményítsétek meg többé.
17 For as touching Yahweh your God, he, is God of gods, and Lord of lords; the great the mighty, and the fearful GOD, who respecteth not persons, nor accepteth a bribe;
Mert az Örökkévaló, a ti Istenetek, ő az istenek Istene és az urak Ura, a nagy, hatalmas és félelmetes Isten, aki nem ismer tekintélyt és nem fogad el megvesztegetést;
18 executing the vindication of the orphan and the widow, —and loving a sojourner, giving him food and raiment.
aki jogot szerez az árvának és özvegynek, szereti az idegent, hogy adjon neki kenyeret és ruhát.
19 Therefore shall ye love the sojourner, —for sojourners, became ye in the land of Egypt.
Szeressétek az idegent, mert idegenek voltatok Egyiptom országában.
20 Yahweh thy God, shalt thou revere, Him, shalt thou serve, —And unto him, shalt thou cleave, And in his name, shalt thou swear.
Az Örökkévalót, a te Istenedet féljed, őt szolgáld, hozzá ragaszkodjál és nevére esküdjél.
21 He, is thy song of praise, And, he, thy God, —who hath done with thee these great and fearful things, which thine own eyes have seen.
Ő a te dicsőséged és ő a te Istened, aki cselekedte veled eme nagy és rettenetes dolgokat, melyeket szemeid láttak.
22 As seventy souls, went thy fathers down to Egypt, —and, now, Yahweh thy God hath made thee like the stars of the heavens for multitude.
Hetven lélekkel mentek le őseid Egyiptomba és most tett téged az Örökkévaló, a te Istened, mint az ég csillagait sokaságra nézve.
