Daniel 2
1 And, in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, —and his spirit, was troubled, and, his sleep, had gone from him.
Ug sa ikaduha ka tuig sa paghari ni Nabucodonosor, si Nabucodonosor nagdamgo sa mga damgo; ug ang iyang espiritu nasamok ug ang iyang pagkatulog mipahawa kaniya.
2 So the king gave word to call for the sacred scribes and for the magicians, and for the users of incantations, and for the Chaldeans, that they might tell the king his dreams, —they came in therefore, and stood before the king.
Unya ang hari nagsugo sa pagpatawag sa tanang mga mago, ug sa mga maglalamat, ug sa mga salamangkiro, ug sa mga Caldeahanon, aron ikasaysay nila sa hari ang iyang mga damgo. Busa sila nanagpanulod ug nangatubang sa hari.
3 And the king, said to them, A dream, have I dreamed, —and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.
Ug ang hari miingon kanila: Ako nagdamgo sa usa ka damgo, ug ang akong espiritu nasamok nga buot magpakisayud sa damgo.
4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king, in Aramaic, —O king, to the ages, live! Tell the dream to thy servants, and, the interpretation, we will declare.
Unya ang mga Caldeahanon mingsulti sa hari sa pinulongan nga Siriahanon: Oh hari, mabuhi ka sa walay katapusan; isugid sa imong mga alagad ang imong damgo, ug kami magasaysay sa iyang kahulogan.
5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The word from me, is unalterable: If ye shall not make known to me the dream and the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and, your houses, into a dunghill, shall be turned;
Ang hari mitubag ug miingon sa mga Caldeahanon: Ang butang mibiya kanako; kong kamo dili magpahibalo kanako sa damgo ug ang kahulogan niana, kamo pagawatas-watason, ug ang inyong mga balay himoon nga pundok sa kinalibang.
6 but, if, the dream and the interpretation thereof, ye will declare, gifts and a present and great dignity, shall ye receive from before me, —therefore, the dream and the interpretation thereof, declare ye unto me.
Apan kong ipahibalo ninyo kanako ang damgo ug ang kahulogan niana, kamo makadawat gikan kanako mga gasa ug mga balus ug dagkung dungog: busa isugid kanako ang damgo ug ang kahulogan niana.
7 They answered again and said, —Let, the king, tell, the dream, to his servants, and, the interpretation thereof, we will declare.
Mingtubag sila sa ikaduha, ug ming-ingon: Ang damgo ipahayag unta sa hari sa iyang mga alagad, ug kami magasugid sa kahulogan.
8 The king answered and said, Of a certainty, I know, that, time, ye, would gain, —merely because ye see that, unalterable, from me, is the word:
Ang hari mitubag ug miingon: Ako nasayud sa pagkatinuod gayud nga kamo buot magalangan, tungod kay nakita man ninyo nga ang butang mibiya kanako.
9 That, if, the dream, ye shall not make known to me, one and the same, is the decree, and, a lying and wicked word, have ye agreed to speak before me, that meanwhile the time may be changed, —therefore, the dream, tell ye me, so shall I know that, the interpretation thereof, ye can declare for me.
Apan kong kamo dili mopadayag kanako sa damgo, adunay usa ra ka balaod alang kaninyo; kay kamo nangandam sa pagpamakak ug pagsulti sa mga pulong malimbongon sa akong atubangan, hangtud nga mabalhin ang panahon; busa isulti kanako ang damgo, ug ako masayud nga kamo makahimo sa pagsaysay sa kahulogan niana.
10 The Chaldeans answered before the king and said, There is not a man upon the earth, who can declare, the matter of the king, —although indeed, there is no king, chief ruler who, a thing like this, hath asked of any sacred scribe or magician or Chaldean;
Ang mga Caldeahanon nanubag sa atubangan sa hari, ug ming-ingon: Walay bisan usa ka tawo sa ibabaw sa yuta nga makapahayag niining butanga sa hari; kay, sanglit walay hari, ni agalon, ni punoan, nga nangutana nianang butanga sa mga mago, kun encantador kun Caldeahanon.
11 and, the thing which the king hath asked, is difficult, and, none other, is there, who can declare it before the king, —saving the gods whose dwelling is, not with flesh.
Ug maoy usa ka butang nga talagsaon ang gipangayo sa hari, ug walay bisan kinsang lain nga arang makapahayag niana sa atubangan sa hari, gawas ang mga dios, kansang puloy-anan wala sa unod.
12 For this cause, the king, was provoked and exceedingly indignant, —and gave word to destroy all the wise men of Babylon;
Tungod niini ang hari nasuko ug naglagut sa hilabihan, ug nagsugo sa pagpapatay sa tanang mga tawong manggialamon sa Babilonia.
13 and, the decree, went forth, that, the wise men, should be slain, —and they sought Daniel and his companions that they might be slain.
Busa ang sugo gipamantala, ug ang tanang mga tawong manggialamon pagapatyon; ug ilang gipangita si Daniel ug ang iyang mga kauban aron patyon.
14 Immediately, Daniel, made answer with prudence and discretion, to Arioch, chief of the executioners of the king, —who had come forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
Unya si Daniel, sa pagkamaalamon ug pagkamasinabuton, mitubag kang Arioch, ang capitan sa mga magbalantay sa hari, nga milakaw aron sa pagpatay sa mga tawo nga manggialamon sa Babilonia;
15 he began to speak and said to Arioch the king’s captain, —For what cause, is the decree raging forth from before the king? Then did Arioch make the matter known unto Daniel.
Mitubag siya kang Arioch, capitan sa hari, ug miingon: Ngano man nga hilabihan pagkahinanali ang sugo sa hari? Unya si Arioch mipahayag sa maong butang kang Daniel.
16 So Daniel entered in, and desired of the king, —that, an appointed time, he would give him, and then, the interpretation, he would declare unto the king.
Ug si Daniel misulod, ug naghangyo sa hari nga hatagan unta siya ug panahon, ug iyang sayran ang hari sa kahulogan.
17 Then Daniel, to his own house, departed, —and, to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, made the matter known;
Unya miadto si Daniel sa iyang balay, ug gisuginlan niya ang iyang mga kauban, si Ananias, si Misael, ug si Azarias mahitungod niining butanga:
18 that, tender compassion, they might seek from before the God of the heavens, concerning this secret, —that Daniel and his companions, might not be destroyed, with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Nga sila mangamuyo sa kalooy sa Dios sa langit bahin niining tinago; aron unta si Daniel ug ang iyang mga kauban dili mangamatay uban sa laing mga tawong manggialamon sa Babilonia.
19 Then, unto Daniel—in a vision of the night, the secret was revealed, —whereupon, Daniel, blessed the God of the heavens:
Unya ang tinago gipadayag kang Daniel pinaagi sa usa ka panan-awon sa kagabhion. Unya gidayeg ni Daniel ang Dios sa langit.
20 Daniel responded, and said, Let the name of God be blessed from age to age, —in that wisdom and might, to him belong;
Si Daniel mitubag ug miingon: Dalayegon ang ngalan sa Dios sa mga katuigan nga walay katapusan; kay iya man ang kaalam ug ang kagahum.
21 And, he, changeth times and seasons, removeth kings, and setteth up kings, —giving wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to them who are skilled in understanding:
Ug iyang ginailis-ilisan ang mga panahon ug mga katuigan; iyang ginapapha ang mga hari, ug gipahaluna ang mga hari; siya nagahatag kaalam sa mga manggialamon, ug kahibalo kanila nga may pagsabut;
22 He, revealeth the deep things, and the hidden, —knoweth what is in the darkness, and, light, with him, doth dwell.
Ginabugna niya ang mga butang halalum ug tinago: siya nasayud sa mga butang nga anaa sa kangitngitan, ug ang kahayag nagapuyo man kaniya.
23 Unto the, O God of my fathers, do I render thanks and praise, in that, wisdom and might, thou hast given unto me, —yea, already, hast thou made known to me that which we desired of thee, for, the matter of the king, hast thou made known unto us.
Nagapasalamat ako kanimo, ug nagadayeg kanimo, Oh Dios sa akong mga amahan, nga nagahatag kanako sa kaalam ug sa kagahum, ug karon ginapadayag mo kanako ang butang nga among gipangayo kanimo; sanglit imong ginapadayag kanamo ang butang sa hari.
24 Therefore, Daniel entered in unto Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon, —he went in, and, thus, he said unto him, The wise men of Babylon, do not thou destroy, bring me in before the king, and, the interpretation—unto the king, will I declare.
Busa miadto si Daniel kang Arioch, ang gitudlo sa hari nga maoy magpatay sa mga tawong manggialamon sa Babilonia; miadto siya ug misulti kaniya sa ingon niini: Ayaw pagpatya ang mga tawong manggialamon sa Babilonia; dad-a ako sa atubangan sa hari, ug akong ipadayag sa hari ang kahulogan.
25 Thereupon, Arioch—with haste, brought in Daniel before the king, —and, thus, he said to him—I have found a man of the sons of the exile of Judah, who, the interpretation—unto the king, will make known.
Ug si Daniel gidali pagdala ni Arioch ngadto sa atubangan sa hari, ug miingon kaniya niini: May tawo nga hingkaplagan ko sa mga anak sa mga nangabihag gikan sa Juda, nga mopahayag sa hari sa kahulogan nga gikinahanglan.
26 The king answered and said unto Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, —Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
Ang hari mitubag ug miingon kang Daniel, kansang ngalan mao si Beltsasar: Makahimo ka ba pagpadayag kanako sa damgo nga akong nakita, ug sa kahulogan niini?
27 Daniel answered before the king, and said, —The secret which the king hath asked, the wise men, the magicians, the sacred scribes, the astrologers, are not able to declare unto the king;
Si Daniel mitubag sa atubangan sa hari, ug miingon: Ang butang tinago nga gisugo sa hari kinahanglan ipadayag, dili ikapadayag kaniya, ni sa mga tawong manggialamon, ni sa mga maglalamat, ni sa mga mulo-manalagna;
28 but there is a God in the heavens, who revealeth secrets, and hath made known to King Nebuchadnezzar, what shall come to pass, in the afterpart of the days: Thy dream and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are, these: —
Apan adunay usa ka Dios sa langit nga mopadayag sa mga tinago, ug siya nagpahibalo kang hari Nabucodonosor sa mga butang manghitabo sa ulahing mga adlaw. Ang imong damgo, ug ang mga panan-awon sa imong ulo sa ibabaw sa imong higdaanan, mao kini:
29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts upon thy bed, arose regarding what should come to pass hereafter; and, he that revealeth secrets, made known to thee what shall come to pass.
Mahitungod kanimo, Oh hari, ang imong mga hunahuna mingsantop sa imong panumduman diha sa imong higdaanan, aron sa pagpasayud sa mga butang manghitabo sa umalabut nga panahon; ug ang nagapadayag sa mga tinago nagpahibalo kanimo sa manghitabo sa ulahing mga adlaw.
30 But, as for me—not for any wisdom that is in me, more than any of the living, is, this secret, revealed to me, —therefore, it is in order that, the interpretation—unto the king, they should make known, and that, the thoughts of thy heart, thou shouldst get to know.
Apan mahitungod kanako, kini nga tinago wala ipadayag kanako, tungod kay labaw sa uban nga mga buhi ang akong kahibalo, kondili sa tuyo nga ang kahulogan ikapadayag sa hari, ug aron ikaw masayud sa mga hunahuna sa imong kasingkasing.
31 As for thee, O king, thou wast looking, when lo! a great image, this image, being mighty, and the brightness thereof surpassing, was standing before thee, —and, the appearance thereof, was terrible.
Ikaw, Oh hari, nakakita, ug, nakasud-ong sa usa ka dakung larawan. Kining larawan nga daku uyamut, ug kansang kasilaw maayo kaayo, mitindog sa imong atubangan; ang dagway niana makalilisang.
32 As for this image, its head, was of fine gold, its breast and its arms, were of silver, —its belly and its thighs, of bronze;
Mahitungod niini nga larawan, ang iyang ulo bulawan nga lunsay, ang iyang dughan ug ang iyang mga bukton salapi, ang iyang tiyan ug ang iyang mga paa tumbaga,
33 its legs, of iron, —and, its feet, part of them, of iron, and, part of them, of clay.
Ang iyang mga bitiis puthaw, ang iyang mga tiil may bahin nga puthaw, ug may bahin nga yutang kolonon.
34 Thou didst look, until that a stone tare itself away, not by the aid of hands, and smote the image upon its feet, which were of iron and clay, —and they were broken in pieces.
Nakita mo hangtud nga ang usa ka bato gisapsap nga walay mga kamot, nga minglapdos sa larawan sa iyang mga tiil nga puthaw ug yuta nga kolonon, ug nakadugmok kanila.
35 Then were broken in pieces at once, the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, and became like chaff out of the summer threshing-floors, and the wind, carried them away, and, no place, was found for them, —but, the stone that smote the image, became a mighty rock, and filled all the land.
Unya ang puthaw, ang yutang kolonon, ang tumbaga, ang salapi, ug ang bulawan, nadungan pagkadugmok, ug nangahimong sama sa tahop sa mga salog nga giukanan sa panahon sa ting-init; ug sila ginapadpad sa hangin, sa pagkaagi nga walay dapit nga nakita alang kanila: ug ang bato nga naglapdos sa larawan, nahimong usa ka dakung bukid, ug gipuno niini ang tibook kalibutan.
36 This, is the dream, and, the interpretation thereof, we will tell before the king.
Kini mao ang damgo; ug ang kahulogan niini among isugilon sa atubangan sa hari.
37 Thou, O king, art the king of kings, —for, the God of the heavens, hath given unto thee, the kingship, the might, the power and the dignity;
Ikaw, Oh hari, mao ang hari sa kaharian, kang kinsa ang Dios sa langit mihatag sa gingharian, sa gahum, sa kusog ug sa himaya;
38 and, wheresoever the sons of men do dwell, the wild beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens, hath he given into thy hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou, art the head of gold.
Ug sa bisan diin nga dapit ang mga anak sa tawo managpuyo, ang mga mananap sa kapatagan ug ang mga langgam sa kalangitan iyang gihatag sa imong kamot, ug naghimo kanimo nga agalon kanilang tanan: ikaw mao kadtong ulo nga bulawan.
39 And, after thee, shall arise another kingdom, inferior to thee, —and another—a third kingdom, of bronze, which shall bear rule throughout all the earth.
Ug sunod kanimo motindog ang usa ka gingharian nga labing ubos kanimo; ug may lain nga ikatulong gingharian nga tumbaga, nga magabuot sa tibook nga yuta.
40 And, the fourth kingdom, shall be hard as iron, —in like manner as iron breaketh in pieces and crusheth all things, —even as iron which bringeth to ruins all these, shall it break in pieces and bring to ruins.
Ug ang ikaupat ka gingharian molig-on sama sa puthaw, sanglit ang puthaw magadugmok ug makadaug sa tanang mga butang; ug sama sa puthaw nga magapigsat niining tanan, kini nga gingharian magabungkag ug magadugmok.
41 And, whereas thou sawest the feet and the toes, part of them of potter’s clay, and part of them of iron, the kingdom, shall be, divided, and, of the hardness of the iron, shall there be in it, —forasmuch as thou sawest, the iron, combined with the miry clay;
Ug sanglit imong nakita ang mga tiil ug mga tudlo sa tiil, nga may bahin nga yutang kolonon sa magkokolon, ug may bahin nga puthaw, kini mahimo nga gingharian nga binahinbahin: apan anaa niana ang kalig-on sa puthaw, sanglit sa imong nakita ang puthaw gisakot sa yanang sa yuta nga kolonon.
42 and, the toes of the feet, part of them, iron, and, part, of clay, —some part of the kingdom, shall be strong, but, a part thereof, shall be brittle;
Ug ingon nga ang usa ka bahin sa mga tudlo sa tiil puthaw man, ug ang usa ka bahin maoy yutang kolonon, mao nga sa gingharian malig-on ang usa ka bahin, ug gabok ang laing bahin.
43 and, whereas thou sawest, the iron, combined with the miry clay, they shall be combined with the seed of men, but shall not cleave firmly one to another, —lo! as iron is not to be combined with clay.
Ug sanglit imong nakita nga ang puthaw gisaktan sa yanang sa yutang kolonon, sila mosagol sa ilang kaugalingon uban sa kaliwatan sa katawohan: apan sila dili magakatapot sa usa ug usa, sama sa puthaw nga dili mosagol sa yutang kolonon.
44 And, in the days of those kings, shall the God of the heavens, set up, a kingdom which, to the ages, shall not be destroyed, and, the kingdom, to another people, shall not be left, —it shall break in pieces and make an end of all these kingdoms, but, itself, shall stand to the ages.
Ug sa mga adlaw nianang mga haria, ang Dios sa langit magatukod usa ka gingharian nga dili gayud malumpag, ni ang gahum niana mahibilin sa lain nga katawohan; apan kini magadugmok ug magaut-ut niining tanan nga mga gingharian, ug kini molungtad sa walay katapusan.
45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that, out of the rock, a stone tare itself away, but not with hands, and brake in pieces the clay, the iron, the bronze, the silver and the gold, the mighty God, hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter. Exact then is the dream, and trusty its interpretation.
Sanglit ingon sa imong nakita nga gikan sa usa ka bukid gisapsap nga walay kamot ang usa ka bato, ug nga kini nakadugmok sa puthaw, sa tumbaga, sa yutang kolonon, sa salapi, ug sa bulawan; ang daku nga Dios nagpahibalo sa hari sa mga butang manghitabo sa kaulahian: ug ang damgo matuod, ug ang kahulogan niana dili kaduha-duhaan.
46 Then, King Nebuchadnezzar, fell upon his face, and, unto Daniel, paid adoration; and, a present and sweet odours, gave he word to pour out unto him.
Unya si hari Nabucodonosor mihapa, ug misimba kang Daniel, ug nagsugo nga siya halaran nila sa usa ka halad sa maamyon nga kahumot.
47 The king answered Daniel, and said—Of a truth, your God, is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a Revealer of secrets, —seeing thou wast able to reveal this secret.
Ang hari mitubag kang Daniel ug miingon: Sa pagkamatuod ang imong Dios mao ang Dios sa mga dios, ug ang Ginoo sa mga hari, ug ang magbubugna sa mga butang tinago, sanglit ikaw nakapadayag niining butang tinago.
48 Then, the king, exalted, Daniel, and, many large presents, gave he unto him, and set him to be ruler over all the province of Babylon, —and chief of the nobles, over all the wise men of Babylon.
Unya ang hari nagpabantug kang Daniel, ug naghatag kaniya daghang mga gasa nga bililhon, ug naghimo kaniya nga punoan sa tibook lalawigan sa Babilonia, ug pangulo nga gobernador sa tanang mga tawong manggialamon sa Babilonia.
49 And, Daniel, desired of the king, and he appointed—over the business of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —but, Daniel himself, was in the gate of the king.
Ug si Daniel naghangyo sa hari, ug iyang gitudlo si Sadrach, Mesach, ug Abed-nego, ibabaw sa mga bulohaton sa lalawigan sa Babilonia: apan si Daniel diha sa ganghaan sa hari.
