< Amos 8 >
1 Here, My Lord, Yahweh, gave me to see, —and lo! there was a basket of summer fruit.
Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Olódùmarè fihàn mi: agbọ̀n èso pípọ́n.
2 So then he said, What canst thou see, Amos? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said Yahweh unto me, The end hath come unto my people Israel, I will not again any more forgive them;
Ó béèrè pé, “Amosi kí ni ìwọ rí.” Mo sì dáhùn pé, “Agbọ̀n èso pípọ́n.” Nígbà náà ni Olúwa wí fún mi pé, “Àsìkò náà pọ́n tó fún àwọn ènìyàn mi Israẹli; Èmi kì yóò dá wọn sí mọ́.”
3 but palace-songs, shall become howlings, in that day, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh, —Many shall be the dead bodies in every place—cast forth—[with a] hush!
Olúwa Olódùmarè wí pé, “Ní ọjọ́ náà, àwọn orin tẹmpili yóò yí padà sí ohùn réré ẹkún. Ọ̀pọ̀, àní ọ̀pọ̀ ara òkú ni yóò wà ni ibi gbogbo! Àní ni ìdákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́!”
4 Hear this, ye who pant after the needy, and to make an end of the oppressed of the land:
Ẹ gbọ́ èyí, ẹ̀yin tí ń tẹ aláìní lórí ba, tí ẹ sì ń sọ tálákà di ilẹ̀.
5 Who say, When will the new moon, pass away, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath that we may open grain? who diminish the ephah, and increase the shekel, and who falsify by deceitful weights:
Tí ẹ ń wí pé, “Nígbà wo ni oṣù tuntun yóò parí kí àwa bá à lè ta ọkà kí ọjọ́ ìsinmi kí ó lè dópin kí àwa bá à le ta jéró?” Kí a sì dín ìwọ̀n wa kù kí a gbéraga lórí iye tí a ó tà á kí a sì fi òsùwọ̀n èké yàn wọ́n jẹ,
6 Who buy—for silver—the poor, and the needy for a pair of shoes, —and that the refuse of the grain we may sell.
kí àwa lè fi fàdákà ra àwọn tálákà, kí a sì fi bàtà ẹsẹ̀ méjèèjì ra aláìní, kí a sì ta jéró tí a kó mọ́ ilẹ̀.
7 Sworn hath Yahweh, by the Excellency of Jacob, —Surely I will never forget any of their doings!
Olúwa ti fi ìgbéraga Jakọbu búra pé, “Èmi kì yóò gbàgbé ọ̀kan nínú ohun tí wọ́n ṣe.
8 Is it not, for this, that the land, shall tremble? and shall mourn every inhabitant therein? Shall it not come up—like the Nile, all of it, and be tossed and subside like the river of Egypt?
“Ǹjẹ́ ilẹ̀ náà kì yóò ha wárìrì fún èyí? Àwọn tí ń gbé inú rẹ̀ kì yóò ha ṣọ̀fọ̀? Gbogbo ilẹ̀ yóò ru sókè bí omi Naili, yóò sì ru ú sókè pátápátá bí ìkún omi a ó sì tì í jáde, a ó sì tẹ̀ ẹ́ rì gẹ́gẹ́ bí odò Ejibiti.
9 Yea it shall come to pass, in that day, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh, that I will cause the sun to go in at high noon, —and will darken the earth on a day of brightness!
“Yóò sì ṣe ní ọjọ́ náà,” ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí, “Èmi yóò mú oòrùn wọ̀ ní ọ̀sán, Èmi yóò mú kí ayé ṣókùnkùn ní ọ̀sán gangan.
10 So will I turn your festivals into mourning, and all your songs into a dirge, and I will bring up—on all loins—sackcloth, and upon every head—baldness, —and I will make it like the mourning for an only one, even the afterpart thereof, as a day of bitterness.
Èmí yóò yí àsè ẹ̀sìn yín padà sí ọ̀fọ̀, gbogbo orin yín ni èmi yóò sọ di ẹkún. Èmi yóò mú kí gbogbo yín wọ aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀, kí a sì fá orí yín. Èmi yóò mú kí ìgbà náà rí bí ìṣọ̀fọ̀ fún ọmọkùnrin kan ṣoṣo tí a bí àti òpin rẹ̀ bí ọjọ́ kíkorò.
11 Lo! days are coming, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh, that I will send a hunger throughout the land, —not a hunger for food, nor a thirst for water, but for hearing the words of Yahweh;
“Ọjọ́ ń bọ̀,” ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí, “nígbà tí èmi yóò rán ìyàn sí ilẹ̀ náà, kì í ṣe ìyàn oúnjẹ tàbí òǹgbẹ fún omi. Ṣùgbọ́n ìyàn gbígbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa.
12 Therefore shall men rove about—from sea to sea, and from the north even unto sunrise, —they shall run to and fro—seeking the word of Yahweh, but shall not find [it].
Àwọn ènìyàn yóò rìn kiri láti Òkun dé Òkun wọn yóò sì máa rìn ká láti gúúsù sí àríwá, wọn yóò máa wá ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa ṣùgbọ́n wọn kì yóò rí i.
13 In that day, shall the fair virgins and the choice young men faint for thirst.
“Ní ọjọ́ náà “àwọn arẹwà wúńdíá àti àwọn alágbára ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin yóò dákú fún òǹgbẹ omi.
14 They who swear by the Guilt of Samaria, and say, As thy God, liveth, O Dan! and, As the Way of Beer-sheba, liveth, shall fall, and shall not rise any more.
Àwọn tí ó fi ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ Samaria búra, tí wọ́n sì wí pé, ‘Bí ó ti dájú pé ọlọ́run rẹ ń bẹ láààyè, ìwọ Dani,’ bí ó ti dájú pè ọlọ́run rẹ ń bẹ láààyè, ìwọ Beerṣeba, wọ́n yóò ṣubú, wọn kì yóò si tún dìde mọ.”
