Amos 7
1 Here, My Lord, Yahweh gave me to see, and lo! he was preparing the locust, in the beginning of the shooting up of the after-grass, —and lo! after-grass, cometh after the mowings for the king.
Assim o Senhor DEUS me fez ver: eis que ele formava gafanhotos, no começo do crescimento da plantação tardia; e eis que era a plantação tardia, depois da colheita do rei.
2 And it came to pass, when they had made an end of eating the herbage of the land, that I said—Oh, My Lord, Yahweh, forgive, I beseech thee: By whom shall Jacob, arise? for, small, he is.
E aconteceu que, quando eles terminaram de comer a plantação da terra, eu disse: Senhor DEUS, perdoa, por favor; como Jacó poderá sobreviver? Pois é pequeno.
3 Grieved was Yahweh, over this, —It shall not be, said Yahweh?
[Então] o SENHOR se arrependeu disso: Isto não acontecerá, disse o SENHOR.
4 Here, My Lord, Yahweh gave me to see, and lo! My Lord Yahweh proclaiming that, the controversy should be settled by fire, —which, having devoured the mighty roaring deep, should devour the inheritance.
Assim o Senhor DEUS me fez ver: eis que o Senhor DEUS pretendeu executar juízo com fogo; e consumiu um grande abismo, assim como consumiu uma parte da terra.
5 Then said I, My Lord, Yahweh, forbear, I beseech thee, By whom shall Jacob, arise? for, small, he is.
Então eu disse: Senhor DEUS, cessa, por favor; como Jacó poderá sobreviver? Pois é pequeno.
6 Grieved was Yahweh, over this, —Even this, shall not be, said My Lord, Yahweh.
[E] o SENHOR se arrependeu disso: Isto também não acontecerá, disse o Senhor DEUS.
7 Here, he gave me to see, and lo! My Lord, stationed upon a pinnacle, —and, in his hand a plummet.
Assim ele me fez ver: Eis que o Senhor estava sobre um muro que havia sido feito conforme o prumo, e havia um prumo em sua mão.
8 And Yahweh said unto me, What canst thou see, Amos? And I said, A plummet, —Then said My Lord, Behold me! fixing a plummet in the midst of my people Israel, I will not again any more forgive him.
E o SENHOR me disse: O que vês, Amós? E eu disse: Um prumo. Então o Senhor disse: Eis que eu porei um prumo no meio de meu povo Israel; não mais o tolerarei.
9 So shall the high places of Isaac, be made desolate, and, the holy places of Israel, be laid waste, —and I will rise up, against the house of Jeroboam, with the sword.
E os altos de idolatria de Isaque serão arruinados, e os santuários de Israel serão arruinados; e me levantarei com espada contra a casa de Jeroboão.
10 Then sent Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, unto Jeroboam king of Israel, saying: A conspiracy hath Amos, raised against thee, in the midst of the house of Israel, The land, is not able to endure, all his words;
Então Amazias, o sacerdote de Betel, mandou mensagem a Jeroboão, rei de Israel, dizendo: Amós tem conspirado contra ti no meio da casa de Israel; esta terra não poderá suportar todas as suas palavras.
11 For, thus, saith Amos, By the sword, shall Jeroboam, die, —and, Israel, shall, surely be exiled, from off his own soil.
Porque assim diz Amós: Jeroboão morrerá a espada, e Israel certamente será levado de sua terra em cativeiro.
12 Then said Amaziah unto Amos, O seer, go flee thee away unto the land of Judah—and eat, there, bread, and, there, mayest thou prophesy;
Depois Amazias disse a Amós: Vidente, vai embora, e foge para a terra de Judá, e ali come o teu pão, e ali profetiza;
13 But, at Bethel, not again, any more, mayest thou prophesy, —for, the holy place of the king, it is, and, the house of the kingdom, it is.
Porém não profetizes mais em Betel, porque ali estão o santuário do rei, e o palácio real.
14 Then answered Amos, and said unto Amaziah, No prophet, was I, —nor the son of a prophet, was I, —but, a herdman, was I, and a preparer of sycamore fruit;
Então Amós respondeu a Amazias: Eu não era profeta, nem filho de profeta; mas eu era criador de gado, e colhedor de frutos de sicômoros.
15 But Yahweh, took me away, from following the flock, —and Yahweh, said unto me, Go prophesy against my people Israel.
Porém o SENHOR me tomou do trabalho com o gado, e o SENHOR me disse: Vai, e profetiza a meu povo Israel.
16 Now, therefore, hear thou the word of Yahweh, —Thou art saying, Thou must not prophesy concerning Israel, nor let thy word drop down upon the house of Isaac.
Agora pois, ouve a palavra do SENHOR. Tu dizes: Não profetizes contra Israel, nem fales contra a casa de Isaque.
17 Therefore—Thus, saith Yahweh, Thy wife, in the city, will commit unchastity, and, thy sons and thy daughters, by the sword, shall fall, and, thine own soil, by line, shall he apportioned, —and, thou, on a polluted soil, shalt die, and, Israel, shall, surely go into exile, away from his own soil.
Por isso, assim diz o SENHOR: Tua mulher se prostituirá na cidade, teus filhos e tuas filhas cairão à espada, e tua terra será repartida; tu morrerás em uma terra impura, e Israel será levado cativo de sua terra.
