< Amos 6 >

1 Alas for the careless in Zion, and for them who put confidence in the mountain of Samaria, —the distinguished among the first group of nations, to whom came in the house of Israel.
Anunae Zion dongah mongkawt tih Samaria tlang ah aka pangtung rhoek aih. Namtom kah a tanglue a phoei dongah amih taengla Israel imkhui te kun uh van.
2 Pass ye over to Calneh, and see, and go on from thence to Hamath the great, —and go down to Gath of the Philistines, are they better than these kingdoms? or their boundary larger than your boundary?
Kalneh la cet uh lamtah hmu lah. Te lamloh Khamath Rabbah la cet uh lamtah Philisti kah Gath la suntla uh. Te kah ram tah then ngai tih a khorhi te na khorhi lakah len a?
3 Ye who are putting far away the day of calamity, —but bringing near the abode of violence:
Yoethae khohnin ham rhoe tih kuthlahnah hmuen la mop uh.
4 Who are lying on beds of ivory, and sprawling on their couch of pleasure, —and eating the well-fed of the flock, and the fatted calves out of the midst of the stalls:
Vueino thingkong dongah yalh uh tih a soengca dongah cawklawih uh. Boiva khui lamkah tuca neh sael-im khui lamkah saelca aka ca rhoek.
5 Who are bawling at the bidding of the harp, —like David, have they invented for themselves instruments of song:
David bangla thangpa ol te a oei uh tih lumlaa tumbael te amamih ham a moeh uh.
6 Who are quaffing bowls of wine, and, with the best of oils, anointing themselves, —and are not afflicted for the injury of Joseph: —
Misurtui te baelcak dongah a ok uh tih situi tanglue neh koelh uh dae Joseph kah pocinah dongah a kothae uh pawh.
7 Therefore, at once, shall they go into exile among the first of the exiles, —so shall be disturbed the revelry of sprawlers.
Te dongah boeilu a poelyoe bangla a poelyoe uh pawn vetih cawklawih rhoek kah rhok nong ni.
8 Sworn hath the Lord, Yahweh, by his own life, Declareth Yahweh, God of hosts, abhorring am I, the grandeur of Jacob, and, his palaces, I hate, —therefore will I cast off the city and the fulness thereof.
Ka Boeipa Yahovah loh a hinglu neh a toemngam coeng. He tah caempuei Pathen BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Jakob kah hoemdamnah te ka lok lo tih a impuei khaw ka hmuhuet. Te dongah khopuei neh a cungkuem te ka khaih ni.
9 And it shall come to pass, though there be left remaining ten men in one house, yet shall they die;
Tedae ana om saeh, im pakhat ah hlang parha sueng mai cakhaw duek uh ni.
10 And a man’s near of kin, even he who is about to burn the bones, shall carry him out of the house, when he shall say to him that is in the hinder parts of the house—Are there yet any with thee? and he shall say—No one. Then shall he say—Hush! for we must not invoke the name of Yahweh.
Anih te a panoe neh a rhok aka soem loh a khuen tih im lamloh a rhuh a khuen vaengah khaw im thael kah taengah, “Nang taengah om pueng a?” a ti nah ni. Te vaengah, “Lunglilungla la,” a ti vetih, “Saah lah, BOEIPA ming te poek ham moenih,” a ti ni.
11 For lo! Yahweh, is giving command, and will smite the great house into ruins, —and the little house with clefts.
BOEIPA loh a uen dongah im len te a pil la, im yit te a nuei la a boh pawn ni ke.
12 Shall horses run upon crag? or will a man plough [there] with oxen? For ye have turned to poison the sentence of justice, and the fruit of righteousness, to wormwood:
Thaelpang dongah marhang yong vetih saelhung nen khaw a thoe rhet aya? Te dongah tiktamnah te sue la, duengnah thaihtae te pantong la na poeh sakuh.
13 Who rejoice in a thing of nought, —who say, Have we not by our own strength, taken to ourselves horns?
“Mah thaa neh mah hamla a ki n'loh moenih a?,” aka ti rhoek te Lodebar ah a kohoe uh.
14 For behold me! raising up against you, O house of Israel, Declareth Yahweh, the God of hosts—a nation! And they shall crush you, from the entering in of Hamath, unto the torrent-bed of the waste plain.
He tah caempuei Pathen BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Israel imkhui nang taengah namtom ka thoh coeng ne. Te dongah nangmih te Khamath a pawk nah lamloh Arabah soklong duela n'nen uh ni.
