Amos 5
1 Hear ye this word, which, I, am taking up concerning you—even a dirge, O house of Israel.
௧இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தாரே, உங்களைக்குறித்து நான் புலம்பிச் சொல்லும் இந்த வசனத்தைக் கேளுங்கள்.
2 She hath fallen—she cannot again rise, the virgin, Israel, —she lieth forsaken on her soil, there is none to raise her up.
௨இஸ்ரவேல் என்னும் கன்னிப்பெண் விழுந்தாள், அவள் இனி ஒருபோதும் எழுந்திருக்கமாட்டாள்; தன்னுடைய தேசத்தில் விழுந்துகிடக்கிறாள், அவளைத் தூக்கிவிடுகிறவர்கள் இல்லை.
3 For, thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, The city that goeth out a thousand strong, shall have left it a hundred, —And, that which goeth out a hundred strong, shall have left it ten, belonging to the house of Israel.
௩நகரத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட ஆயிரம்பேரில் நூறுபேரும், நூறுபேரில் பத்துப்பேரும் இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தாருக்கு மீதியாக இருப்பார்கள் என்று யெகோவாகிய தேவன் சொல்லுகிறார்.
4 For, thus, saith Yahweh, to the house of Israel, —Seek me, and live;
௪யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தாருக்குச் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: என்னைத் தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது பிழைப்பீர்கள்.
5 Then do not seek Bethel, and, Gilgal, shall ye not enter, and, unto Beer-sheba, shall ye not cross over, For, Gilgal, shall, surely go into exile, and, Bethel, shall become a trouble.
௫பெத்தேலைத் தேடாதீர்கள், கில்காலிலும் சேராதீர்கள், பெயெர்செபாவுக்கும் போகாதீர்கள்; ஏனென்றால் கில்கால் சிறையிருப்பாகவும், பெத்தேல் பாழான இடமாகவும் போகும்.
6 Seek ye Yahweh, and live, —lest he break forth, like a fire, upon the house of Joseph, and it devour with none to quench it, for Bethel.
௬யெகோவாவை தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது பிழைப்பீர்கள்; இல்லாவிட்டால் பெத்தேலில் இருக்கிற ஒருவராலும் அணைக்கப்படாத அக்கினி யோசேப்பின் வீட்டில் பற்றி, அதை எரிக்கும்.
7 Ye who turn, into, wormwood, justice, and, righteousness—to the ground have let fall.
௭நியாயத்தைக் கசப்பாக மாற்றி, நீதியைத் தரையிலே விழச்செய்கிறவர்களே அவரைத் தேடுங்கள்.
8 [Seek him] who made the Cluster and the Giant, and turneth, into morning, the shadow of death, and who, day into night, doth darken, Him who calleth to the waters of the sea, and poureth them out on the face of the land, Yahweh, is his name:
௮அவர் நட்சத்திரங்களையும் மிருகசீரிஷத்தையும் உண்டாக்கினவர்; அவர் மரணஇருளை அதிகாலையாக மாற்றி, பகலை இரவாக அந்தகாரப்படுத்துகிறவர்; அவர் கடலின் தண்ணீர்களை வரவழைத்து, அவைகளைப் பூமியின் பரப்பின்மேல் ஊற்றுகிறவர்; யெகோவா என்பது அவருடைய நாமம்.
9 Him who flasheth force on the strong, —and, force, on the fortress, alighteth!
௯பாதுகாப்பான இடத்தின்மேல் அழிவு வரும்படியாக, அவர் கொள்ளை கொடுத்தவனைப் பலத்தவனுக்கு விரோதமாக இலகுவடையச் செய்கிறவர்.
10 They hate the man who, in the gate, rebuketh, —and, him who speaketh truthfully, they abhor.
௧0பட்டணத்தின் நுழைவுவாயிலிலே கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறவனை அவர்கள் பகைத்து, யதார்த்தமாகப் பேசுகிறவனை வெறுக்கிறார்கள்.
11 Therefore—because ye have trampled on the poor, and, the gift of corn, ye would take away from him, though, houses of hewn stone, ye have built, Yet shall ye not dwell in them, —Though, delightful vineyards, ye have planted, Yet shall ye not drink the wine of them.
௧௧நீங்கள் தரித்திரனை மிதித்து, அவனுடைய கையிலே தானியத்தைச் சுமைசுமையாக வாங்குகிறபடியினால், நீங்கள் வேலைப்பாடுள்ள கற்களால் வீடுகளைக் கட்டினீர்கள், ஆனாலும் அவைகளில் நீங்கள் குடியிருப்பதில்லை; இன்பமான திராட்சைத்தோட்டங்களை நாட்டினீர்கள், ஆனாலும் அவைகளின் இரசத்தை நீங்கள் குடிப்பதில்லை.
12 For I know how numerous are your transgressions, and how surpassing your sins, —ye adversaries of the righteous! ye acceptors of a bribe! Even the needy in the gate, have they turned away!
௧௨உங்களுடைய மீறுதல்கள் மிகுதியென்றும், உங்களுடைய பாவங்கள் பலத்ததென்றும் அறிவேன்; நீதிமானை ஒடுக்கி, லஞ்சம் வாங்கி, பட்டணத்தின் நுழைவுவாயிலில் ஏழைகளின் நியாயத்தைப் புரட்டுகிறீர்கள்.
13 Therefore, the prudent man, at that time, will be dumb, —Because an evil time, it is!
௧௩ஆகையால் புத்திமான் அந்தக்காலத்திலே மௌனமாக இருக்கவேண்டும்; அந்தக்காலம் தீமையான காலம்.
14 Seek ye right and not wrong, that ye nay live, —that, so, Yahweh God of hosts, may be with you, as ye have said.
௧௪நீங்கள் பிழைக்கும்படி தீமையை அல்ல, நன்மையைத் தேடுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிறபடியே சேனைகளின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உங்களுடன் இருப்பார்.
15 Hate wrong, and love right, and station, Justice, in the gate, —Peradventure, Yahweh, God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
௧௫நீங்கள் தீமையை வெறுத்து, நன்மையை விரும்பி, நுழைவுவாயிலில் நியாயத்தை நிலைப்படுத்துங்கள்; ஒருவேளை சேனைகளின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா யோசேப்பிலே மீதியானவர்களுக்கு இரங்குவார்.
16 Therefore, thus, saith Yahweh, God of hosts, My Lord, In all broadways, shall be lamentation, and, in all streets, shall they say, Alas! Alas! And they shall call the husbandman unto the mourning, and, unto the lamentation, them who know a wailing song;
௧௬ஆதலால் ஆண்டவரும் சேனைகளின் தேவனுமாகிய யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: எல்லாத் தெருக்களிலும் புலம்பல் உண்டாகும்; எல்லா வீதிகளிலும் ஐயோ, ஐயோ, என்று ஓலமிடுவார்கள்; பயிரிடுகிறவர்களைத் துக்கங்கொண்டாடுகிறதற்கும், ஒப்பாரி பாடத்தெரிந்தவர்களைப் புலம்புகிறதற்கும் வரவழைப்பார்கள்.
17 Ye, in all vineyards, lamentation, —For I will pass along through thy midst, saith Yahweh.
௧௭எல்லாத் திராட்சைதோட்டங்களிலும் புலம்பல் உண்டாயிருக்கும். நான் உன் நடுவே கடந்துபோவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
18 Alas for them who are longing for the day of Yahweh, —What good to you, is the day of Yahweh? it, being darkness and not light:
௧௮யெகோவாவுடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்பின் நாளை விரும்புகிறவர்களுக்கு ஐயோ, அதினால் உங்களுக்கு என்ன உண்டு? யெகோவாவுடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்பின் நாள் வெளிச்சமாக இல்லாமல் இருளாக இருக்கும்.
19 As if a man should flee from the face of a lion, and there should meet him—a bear! or he should have entered the house, and leaned his hand upon the wall, and there should bite him—a serpent!
௧௯சிங்கத்திற்குத் தப்பினவனுக்குக் கரடி எதிர்ப்பட்டதுபோலவும், அல்லது வீட்டிற்குள்ளே வந்து சுவரின்மேல் தன்னுடைய கையை வைத்தபோது பாம்பு அவனைக் கடித்ததுபோலவும் இருக்கும்.
20 Shall not the day of Yahweh be, darkness, and not light? yea, thick darkness and no brightness in it?
௨0யெகோவாவுடைய நாள் வெளிச்சமாக இல்லாமல், இருளும் பிரகாசமற்ற காரிருளுமாக இருக்குமல்லவோ?
21 I hate, I despise your festivals, —and can scent no fragrance in your solemn feasts.
௨௧உங்களுடைய பண்டிகைகளைப் பகைத்து வெறுக்கிறேன்; உங்களுடைய ஆசரிப்பு நாட்களில் எனக்குப் பிரியமில்லை.
22 Nay, though ye cause to ascend unto me ascending-sacrifices, and your meal-offerings, I will not accept [them], —nor, the peace-offering of your fat heifers, will I regard.
௨௨உங்களுடைய தகனபலிகளையும் உணவுபலிகளையும் எனக்குப் படைத்தாலும் நான் அங்கீகரிக்கமாட்டேன்; கொழுமையான உங்களுடைய மிருகங்களின் ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளையும் நான் நோக்கிப்பார்க்கமாட்டேன்.
23 Take thou away from me, the noise of thy songs, —Even the melody of thy harps, will I not hear.
௨௩உன் பாடல்களின் இரைச்சலை என்னைவிட்டு அகற்று; உன் வீணைகளின் ஓசையை நான் கேட்கமாட்டேன்.
24 But let, justice, roll along like water, —and, righteousness, as a torrent over flowing.
௨௪நியாயம் தண்ணீரைப்போலவும், நீதி வற்றாத நதியைப்போலவும் புரண்டுவரட்டும்.
25 The sacrifices and meal-offering, ye brought near unto me, in the desert, for forty years O house of Israel;
௨௫இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தாரே, நீங்கள் வனாந்திரத்திலே இருந்த நாற்பது வருடங்கள்வரையில் பலிகளையும், காணிக்கைகளையும் எனக்குச் செலுத்தினீர்களோ?
26 But ye carried the tent of your king-idol, and your Saturn-images, —the star of your gods, which ye made for yourselves:
௨௬நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்கின மோளோகுடைய கூடாரத்தையும், உங்களுடைய தெய்வங்களின் நட்சத்திர ராசியாகிய உங்களுடைய சிலைகளின் பல்லக்கையும் சுமந்துகொண்டு வந்தீர்களே.
27 Therefore will I carry you into exile beyond Damascus, —saith Yahweh, God of hosts, is his name.
௨௭ஆகையால் உங்களைத் தமஸ்குவுக்கு அப்பால் குடிபோகச்செய்வேன் என்று சேனைகளுடைய தேவன் என்னும் நாமமுள்ள யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
