< Amos 2 >
1 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Moab, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because he burned the bones of the King of Edom to lime,
BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Moab kah boekoeknah pathum neh pali dongah anih te ka rhael mahpawh. Anih loh Edom manghai rhuh te lungbok la a tih dongah.
2 Therefore will I send a fire into Moab, which shall devour the palaces of Kerioth—and Moab, shall die with tumult, with war- cry, with the sound of a horn;
Te dongah Moab soah hmai ka tueih vetih Kerioth impuei te a hlawp ni. Te vaengah Moab kah longlonah khuiah tamlung neh, tuki ol neh duek ni.
3 And I will cut off the judge out of her midst, and, all her rulers, will I slay with him, saith Yahweh.
Te dongah, “A khui lamkah lai aka tloek te ka saii vetih a mangpa boeih te amah neh ka ngawn ni,” tila BOEIPA loh a thui.
4 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Judah, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because they have rejected the law of Yahweh, and, his statutes, have not kept, but their falsehoods, have led them astray, after the which their fathers, did walk,
BOEIPA loh he he ni a thui. Judah kah boekoeknah pathum neh pali dongah anih te ka rhael mahpawh. BOEIPA kah olkhueng te a hnawt tih a oltlueh te a tuem uh moenih. Amih te a napa rhoek kah a hnukah caeh hamla a laithae dongah kho a hmang uh.
5 Therefore will I send a fire upon Judah, —which shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
Te dongah Judah soah hmai ka tueih vetih Jerusalem kah impuei a hlawp ni.
6 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Israel, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because they have sold—for silver—the righteous, and the needy—for a pair of shoes:
BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Israel kah boekoeknah pathum neh pali dongah anih te ka rhael mahpawh. Amih loh dueng te tangka la, khodaeng te khokhom la a yoih.
7 Who strive to bring the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and, the way of the oppressed, they pervert, —Yea, a man and his own father, go in unto the maid, to profane my holy Name!
tattloel kah lu te diklai laipi dongah a thithut uh tih kodo kah longpuei te a mak uh. Tongpa neh a napa loh hula pakhat taengla a caeh thil dongah ka cimcaihnah ming he a poeih.
8 And, on pledged garments, they recline, beside every altar, —and, exacted wine, do they drink, in the house of their God.
Hmueihtuk boeih taengah laikoi himbai neh rhoel uh tih a Pathen im kah lai sah yu te a ok uh.
9 Yet it was, I, who destroyed the Amorite, from before them, whose height was, like the height of cedars, and, strong, was he, like the oaks, —but I destroyed his fruit above, and his roots beneath.
Kai loh Amori te amih mikhmuh ah ka mitmoeng sak coeng. A sang te lamphai bangla sang tih thingnu bangla tlung sitoe cakhaw a soi kah a thaih neh a hmui kah a yung te ka mit sak.
10 And it was, I, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, —and led you in the desert, forty years, to take possession of the land of the Amorites;
Kai loh nangmih te Egypt khohmuen lamloh kang khuen tih Amori khohmuen pang sak hamla nangmih te khosoek ah kum sawmli kan pongpa puei.
11 And I raised up, of your sons, for prophets, and, of your young men, for Nazirites, —Was it not even so, ye sons of Israel? Demandeth Yahweh;
Na ca rhoek lamloh tonghma la, na tongpang rhoek lamkah hlangcoelh la ka pai sak. Te khaw Israel ca kah moenih a? He tah BOEIPA kah olphong coeng ni.
12 And yet ye caused the Nazirites to drink wine, —and, on the prophet, laid ye command, saying, Ye shall not prophesy!
Tedae hlangcoelh rhoek te misurtui na tul uh. Tonghma rhoek te khaw na uen uh tih, “Tonghma boeh ne,” na ti nauh.
13 Lo! I, am pressed under you, —as a full cart is pressed by its sheaves,
Cangpa a bae te leng loh a rhuelh bangla kai loh nangmih te kang rhuelh coeng ne.
14 Therefore shall flight, perish, from the swift, and, the mighty, shall not invigorate his strength, —nor shall, the hero, escape with his life;
Kapyang lamloh thuhaelnah khaw bing vetih tlungluen kah a thadueng khaw caang mahpawh. Hlangrhalh long khaw a hinglu loeih sak mahpawh.
15 Nor, he that handleth the bow, make a stand, and, the swift on his feet, shall not escape, —nor, he that rideth on a horse, escape with his life:
Lii aka muk khaw pai ngoeng pawt vetih a kap aka yanghoep khaw loeih mahpawh. Marhang dongkah aka ngol long khaw a hinglu loeih mahpawh.
16 Nay, he that is stout in his heart, among heroes, naked, shall flee, in that day, Declareth Yahweh.
Hlangrhalh lakli kah a lungbuei aka rhapsat pataeng te khohnin ah tah pumtling la rhaelrham ni. He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
