Amos 1
1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, —of which (words) he had vision concerning Israel, in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
തെക്കോവയിലെ ഇടയന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനായ ആമോസിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ. ഭൂകമ്പത്തിനു രണ്ടുവർഷംമുമ്പ്, ഇസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു ലഭിച്ച ദർശനം. അക്കാലത്ത് ഉസ്സീയാവ് യെഹൂദയുടെയും യോവാശിന്റെ മകൻ യൊരോബെയാം ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരായിരുന്നു.
2 So then he said—Yahweh, out of Zion, will roar, and, out of Jerusalem, will utter his voice, —and the pastures of the shepherds, shall mourn, and the top of Carmel, be dried up.
അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു: “യഹോവ സീയോനിൽനിന്ന് ഗർജിക്കുന്നു, ജെറുശലേമിൽനിന്ന് ഇടിമുഴക്കുന്നു; ഇടയന്മാരുടെ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറങ്ങൾ ഉണങ്ങുന്നു, കർമേൽമലയുടെ മുകൾഭാഗം വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു.”
3 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Damascus, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because, with threshing instruments of iron, they have threshed Gilead.
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ദമസ്കോസിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ എന്റെ ക്രോധം മടക്കിക്കളയുകയില്ല. കാരണം, ഇരുമ്പുമെതിവണ്ടികൊണ്ട് അവർ ഗിലെയാദിനെ മെതിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
4 Therefore will send a fire, into the house of Hazael, —which shall devour the palaces of Ben- hadad;
ഞാൻ ഹസായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന്മേൽ അഗ്നി അയയ്ക്കും അതു ബെൻ-ഹദദിന്റെ കോട്ടകളെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കും.
5 And I will break the bolt of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant out of the plain of Aven, and the holder of the sceptre out of the house of Eden, —and the people of Syria, shall be exiled, unto Kir, saith Yahweh.
ഞാൻ ദമസ്കോസിന്റെ കവാടങ്ങൾ തകർത്തുകളയും; ആവെൻ താഴ്വരയിലെ രാജാവിനെയും ബെത്ത്-ഏദെനിൽ ചെങ്കോൽ വഹിക്കുന്നവനെയും ഞാൻ നശിപ്പിക്കും. അരാമിലെ ജനം പ്രവാസികളായി കീറിലേക്കു പോകും,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
6 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Gaza, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because of their taking into exile the whole body of exiles, to deliver to Edom,
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഗസ്സയുടെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ എന്റെ ക്രോധം മടക്കിക്കളയുകയില്ല. കാരണം, ജനങ്ങളെ മുഴുവനും ബന്ദികളാക്കി അവർ ഏദോമിനു വിറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു.
7 Therefore will I send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, —which shall devour the palaces thereof;
ഞാൻ ഗസ്സയുടെ മതിലുകളിന്മേൽ അഗ്നി അയയ്ക്കും അത് അവരുടെ കോട്ടകളെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കും.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant out of Ashdod, and the holder of the sceptre out of Ashkelon, —and will turn my hand against Ekron, So shall perish the remnant of the Philistines, saith My Lord, Yahweh.
ഞാൻ, അശ്ദോദിലെ നിവാസികളെയും, അസ്കലോനിൽ ചെങ്കോൽ വഹിക്കുന്നവനെയും നശിപ്പിക്കും. ഫെലിസ്ത്യരിൽ അവസാനം ശേഷിക്കുന്നവനും മരിക്കുന്നതുവരെ, ഞാൻ എക്രോനെതിരേയും എന്റെ കൈ തിരിക്കും,” എന്നു കർത്താവായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
9 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Tyre, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because of their delivering up the whole body of exiles to Edom, and they remembered not the brotherly covenant,
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “സോരിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ എന്റെ ക്രോധം മടക്കിക്കളയുകയില്ല. കാരണം, സഹോദരസഖ്യം അവഗണിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ജനങ്ങളെ മുഴുവനും അവർ ഏദോമിനു വിറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു.
10 Therefore will I send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, —which shall devour the palaces thereof.
ഞാൻ സോരിന്റെ മതിലുകളിന്മേൽ അഗ്നി അയയ്ക്കും, അത് അവരുടെ കോട്ടകളെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കും.”
11 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Edom, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because he pursued, with the sword, his brother, and stifled his compassions, and his anger tare in pieces evermore, and, his indignation, kept watch perpetually,
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഏദോമിന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ എന്റെ ക്രോധം മടക്കിക്കളയുകയില്ല. കാരണം, വാളുമായി അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ പിൻതുടർന്നു, യാതൊരനുകമ്പയും കാട്ടിയില്ല. അവന്റെ കോപം തുടരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവന്റെ ക്രോധം കത്തിജ്വലിച്ചു.
12 Therefore will I send a fire into Teman, —which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
ഞാൻ തേമാനിൽ അഗ്നി അയയ്ക്കും അതു ബൊസ്രായുടെ കോട്ടകളെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കും.”
13 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because of their ripping up the pregnant women of Gilead, that they might enlarge their own boundary,
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “അമ്മോന്റെ മൂന്നോ നാലോ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ എന്റെ ക്രോധം മടക്കിക്കളയുകയില്ല. കാരണം, തന്റെ അതിരുകൾ വിശാലമാക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവൻ ഗിലെയാദിലെ ഗർഭിണികളെ പിളർന്നുകളഞ്ഞു:
14 Therefore will I kindle a fire upon the wall of Rabbah, which shall devour the palaces thereof, —with a war-cry in the day of battle, with tempest in the day of storm-wind;
ഞാൻ രബ്ബയുടെ മതിലുകളിന്മേൽ അഗ്നി അയയ്ക്കും അത് അവളുടെ കോട്ടകളെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കും യുദ്ധദിവസത്തിൽ പടയ്ക്കായുള്ള ആർപ്പുവിളികളുടെ മധ്യത്തിലും കാറ്റുള്ള ദിവസത്തിലെ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റിന്റെ മധ്യത്തിലുംതന്നെ.
15 And Milcom shall go into exile, —he and his rulers together, saith Yahweh.
അവരുടെ രാജാവ് പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും; അവനും അവന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥപ്രമുഖരും ഒരുമിച്ചുതന്നെ,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
