Acts 5
1 But, a certain man, Ananias by name, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
ตทา อนานิยนามก เอโก ชโน ยสฺย ภารฺยฺยายา นาม สผีรา ส สฺวาธิการํ วิกฺรีย
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it; and, bringing a certain part, at the feet of the Apostles, he laid it.
สฺวภารฺยฺยำ ชฺญาปยิตฺวา ตนฺมูลฺยไสฺยกำศํ สงฺโคปฺย สฺถาปยิตฺวา ตทนฺยำศมาตฺรมานีย เปฺรริตานำ จรเณษุ สมรฺปิตวานฺฯ
3 But Peter said—Ananias! wherefore did Satan fill thy heart, that thou shouldst deal falsely with the Holy Spirit, and keep back part of the price of the field?
ตสฺมาตฺ ปิตโรกถยตฺ เห อนานิย ภูเม รฺมูลฺยํ กิญฺจิตฺ สงฺโคปฺย สฺถาปยิตุํ ปวิตฺรสฺยาตฺมน: สนฺนิเธา มฺฤษาวากฺยํ กถยิตุญฺจ ไศตานฺ กุตสฺตวานฺต: กรเณ ปฺรวฺฤตฺติมชนยตฺ?
4 While it remained, was it not, as thine own, it remained? and, when sold, was it not, in thine own authority, that it still continued? Why was it that thou didst contrive in thy heart this deed? Thou hast not dealt falsely with men but, with God.
สา ภูมิ รฺยทา ตว หสฺตคตา ตทา กึ ตว สฺวียา นาสีตฺ? ตรฺหิ สฺวานฺต: กรเณ กุต เอตาทฺฤศี กุกลฺปนา ตฺวยา กฺฤตา? ตฺวํ เกวลมนุษฺยสฺย นิกเฏ มฺฤษาวากฺยํ นาวาที: กินฺตฺวีศฺวรสฺย นิกเฏ'ปิฯ
5 And, as Ananias heard these words, he fell, and expired. And there came great fear upon all that heard;
เอตำ กถำ ศฺรุไตฺวว โส'นานิโย ภูเมา ปตนฺ ปฺราณานฺ อตฺยชตฺ, ตทฺวฺฤตฺตานฺตํ ยาวนฺโต โลกา อศฺฤณฺวนฺ เตษำ สรฺเวฺวษำ มหาภยมฺ อชายตฺฯ
6 But the young men, rising up, wrapped him about, and, bearing him forth, buried him.
ตทา ยุวโลกาสฺตํ วสฺเตฺรณาจฺฉาทฺย พหิ รฺนีตฺวา ศฺมศาเน'สฺถาปยนฺฯ
7 And it came to pass, after about three hours interval, that his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.
ตต: ปฺรหไรกานนฺตรํ กึ วฺฤตฺตํ ตนฺนาวคตฺย ตสฺย ภารฺยฺยาปิ ตตฺร สมุปสฺถิตาฯ
8 And Peter began to say unto her—Tell me! was it, for so much, ye gave up the field? And she said—Yea! for so much.
ตต: ปิตรสฺตามฺ อปฺฤจฺฉตฺ, ยุวาภฺยามฺ เอตาวนฺมุทฺราโภฺย ภูมิ รฺวิกฺรีตา น วา? เอตตฺวํ วท; ตทา สา ปฺรตฺยวาทีตฺ สตฺยมฺ เอตาวทฺโภฺย มุทฺราภฺย เอวฯ
9 And, Peter, [said] unto her—Why was it agreed by you to put to the proof the Spirit of the Lord? Lo! the feet of them that have buried thy husband, are at the door, and they shall bear thee forth.
ตต: ปิตโรกถยตฺ ยุวำ กถํ ปรเมศฺวรสฺยาตฺมานํ ปรีกฺษิตุมฺ เอกมนฺตฺรณาวภวตำ? ปศฺย เย ตว ปตึ ศฺมศาเน สฺถาปิตวนฺตเสฺต ทฺวารสฺย สมีเป สมุปติษฺฐนฺติ ตฺวามปิ พหิรฺเนษฺยนฺติฯ
10 And she fell instantly at his feet, and expired. And the young men, coming in, found her dead; and, bearing her forth, they buried her with her husband.
ตต: สาปิ ตสฺย จรณสนฺนิเธา ปติตฺวา ปฺราณานฺ อตฺยากฺษีตฺฯ ปศฺจาตฺ เต ยุวาโน'ภฺยนฺตรมฺ อาคตฺย ตามปิ มฺฤตำ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา พหิ รฺนีตฺวา ตสฺยา: ปตฺยุ: ปารฺเศฺว ศฺมศาเน สฺถาปิตวนฺต: ฯ
11 And there came great fear upon the whole assembly, and upon all them that heard these things.
ตสฺมาตฺ มณฺฑลฺยา: สรฺเวฺว โลกา อนฺยโลกาศฺจ ตำ วารฺตฺตำ ศฺรุตฺวา สาธฺวสํ คตา: ฯ
12 And, through the hands of the Apostles, were coming to pass many signs and wonders among the people; and they were all with one accord in the portico of Solomon;
ตต: ปรํ เปฺรริตานำ หไสฺต โรฺลกานำ มเธฺย พหฺวาศฺจรฺยฺยาณฺยทฺภุตานิ กรฺมฺมาณฺยกฺริยนฺต; ตทา ศิษฺยา: สรฺวฺว เอกจิตฺตีภูย สุเลมาโน 'ลินฺเท สมฺภูยาสนฺฯ
13 Howbeit, of the rest, no one, durst join himself unto them, —nevertheless the people continued to magnify them;
เตษำ สงฺฆานฺตรฺโค ภวิตุํ โกปิ ปฺรคลฺภตำ นาคมตฺ กินฺตุ โลกาสฺตานฺ สมาทฺริยนฺตฯ
14 And, the more, were being added, when they believed in the Lord, throngs both of men and women; —
สฺตฺริย: ปุรุษาศฺจ พหโว โลกา วิศฺวาสฺย ปฺรภุํ ศรณมาปนฺนา: ฯ
15 So that, even into the broad-ways, were they bringing forth the sick, and laying them on small couches and beds, in order that, if Peter were coming along, even perchance his shadow, might overshadow some one of them.
ปิตรสฺย คมนาคมนาภฺยำ เกนาปิ ปฺรกาเรณ ตสฺย ฉายา กสฺมึศฺจิชฺชเน ลคิษฺยตีตฺยาศยา โลกา โรคิณ: ศิวิกยา ขฏฺวยา จานีย ปถิ ปถิ สฺถาปิตวนฺต: ฯ
16 Moreover even the throng of the cities all round Jerusalem was coming together, bearing sick folk, and such as were harassed by impure spirits, —who, indeed, were being cured, one and all.
จตุรฺทิกฺสฺถนคเรโภฺย พหโว โลกา: สมฺภูย โรคิโณ'ปวิตฺรภุตคฺรสฺตำศฺจ ยิรูศาลมมฺ อานยนฺ ตต: สรฺเวฺว สฺวสฺถา อกฺริยนฺตฯ
17 But the High-priest, arising, and all who were with him, —being the sect of the Sadducees, —were filled with jealousy,
อนนฺตรํ มหายาชก: สิทูกินำ มตคฺราหิณเสฺตษำ สหจราศฺจ
18 And thrust their hands upon the Apostles, and put them in a public ward.
มหาโกฺรธานฺตฺวิตา: สนฺต: เปฺรริตานฺ ธฺฤตฺวา นีจโลกานำ การายำ พทฺธฺวา สฺถาปิตวนฺต: ฯ
19 But, a messenger of the Lord, by night, opened the doors of the prison; and, leading them out, said—
กินฺตุ ราเตฺรา ปรเมศฺวรสฺย ทูต: การายา ทฺวารํ โมจยิตฺวา ตานฺ พหิรานียากถยตฺ,
20 Be going your way, and, taking your stand, be speaking, in the temple, unto the people, all the declarations of this Life.
ยูยํ คตฺวา มนฺทิเร ทณฺฑายมานา: สนฺโต โลกานฺ ปฺรตีมำ ชีวนทายิกำ สรฺวฺวำ กถำ ปฺรจารยตฯ
21 Now, when they heard this, they entered, under the dawn, into the temple, and began teaching. And the High-priest and they who were with him, arriving, called together the high-council, and all the senate of the sons of Israel; and sent off unto the prison, to have them brought.
อิติ ศฺรุตฺวา เต ปฺรตฺยูเษ มนฺทิร อุปสฺถาย อุปทิษฺฏวนฺต: ฯ ตทา สหจรคเณน สหิโต มหายาชก อาคตฺย มนฺตฺริคณมฺ อิสฺราเยลฺวํศสฺย สรฺวฺวานฺ ราชสภาสท: สภาสฺถานฺ กฺฤตฺวา การายาสฺตานฺ อาปยิตุํ ปทาติคณํ เปฺรริตวานฺฯ
22 And, the officers who came to the place, found them not in the prison; and, returning, brought tidings,
ตตเสฺต คตฺวา การายำ ตานฺ อปฺราปฺย ปฺรตฺยาคตฺย อิติ วารฺตฺตามฺ อวาทิษุ: ,
23 Saying—The prison, found we locked with all safety, and the keepers standing at the doors; but, when we had opened the prison, inside, found we, no one.
วยํ ตตฺร คตฺวา นิรฺวฺวิฆฺนํ การายา ทฺวารํ รุทฺธํ รกฺษกำศฺจ ทฺวารสฺย พหิรฺทณฺฑายมานานฺ อทรฺศาม เอว กินฺตุ ทฺวารํ โมจยิตฺวา ตนฺมเธฺย กมปิ ทฺรษฺฏุํ น ปฺราปฺตา: ฯ
24 Now, when both the captain of the temple and the High-priests heard these words, they were utterly at a loss concerning them—what perhaps this might come to.
เอตำ กถำ ศฺรุตฺวา มหายาชโก มนฺทิรสฺย เสนาปติ: ปฺรธานยาชกาศฺจ, อิต ปรํ กิมปรํ ภวิษฺยตีติ จินฺตยิตฺวา สนฺทิคฺธจิตฺตา อภวนฺฯ
25 But some one, entering, brought tidings unto them—Lo! the men whom ye put in the prison, are in the temple, standing, and teaching the people!
เอตสฺมินฺเนว สมเย กศฺจิตฺ ชน อาคตฺย วารฺตฺตาเมตามฺ อวทตฺ ปศฺยต ยูยํ ยานฺ มานวานฺ การายามฺ อสฺถาปยต เต มนฺทิเร ติษฺฐนฺโต โลกานฺ อุปทิศนฺติฯ
26 Then, the captain with the officers, departing, brought them—not with violence, —for they were afraid of the people, lest they should be stoned;
ตทา มนฺทิรสฺย เสนาปติ: ปทาตยศฺจ ตตฺร คตฺวา เจโลฺลกา: ปาษาณานฺ นิกฺษิปฺยาสฺมานฺ มารยนฺตีติ ภิยา วินตฺยาจารํ ตานฺ อานยนฺฯ
27 But, leading them in, set them in the high- council. And the High-priest questioned them,
เต มหาสภายา มเธฺย ตานฺ อสฺถาปยนฺ ตต: ปรํ มหายาชกสฺตานฺ อปฺฤจฺฉตฺ,
28 Saying—Strictly, did we charge you not to be teaching upon this name; and lo! ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and are minded to bring down upon us, the blood of this man.
อเนน นามฺนา สมุปเทษฺฏุํ วยํ กึ ทฺฤฒํ น นฺยเษธาม? ตถาปิ ปศฺยต ยูยํ เสฺวษำ เตโนปเทเศเน ยิรูศาลมํ ปริปูรฺณํ กฺฤตฺวา ตสฺย ชนสฺย รกฺตปาตชนิตาปราธมฺ อสฺมานฺ ปฺรตฺยาเนตุํ เจษฺฏเธฺวฯ
29 But Peter and the Apostles, answering, said—It is needful to be yielding obedience unto God rather than unto men: —
ตต: ปิตโรนฺยเปฺรริตาศฺจ ปฺรตฺยวทนฺ มานุษสฺยาชฺญาคฺรหณาทฺ อีศฺวรสฺยาชฺญาคฺรหณมฺ อสฺมากมุจิตมฺฯ
30 The God of our fathers, hath raised up Jesus, —whom, ye, got into your hands, suspending him upon a tree: —
ยํ ยีศุํ ยูยํ กฺรุเศ เวธิตฺวาหต ตมฺ อสฺมากํ ไปตฺฤก อีศฺวร อุตฺถาปฺย
31 Him, as Princely-leader and Saviour, hath God exalted unto his right hand, —to give repentance unto Israel, and remission of sins.
อิสฺราเยลฺวํศานำ มน: ปริวรฺตฺตนํ ปาปกฺษมาญฺจ กรฺตฺตุํ ราชานํ ปริตฺราตารญฺจ กฺฤตฺวา สฺวทกฺษิณปารฺเศฺว ตสฺยานฺนติมฺ อกโรตฺฯ
32 And, we, are witnesses of these things, —also the Holy Spirit, which God hath given unto them who are yielding obedience unto him.
เอตสฺมินฺ วยมปิ สากฺษิณ อาสฺมเห, ตตฺ เกวลํ นหิ, อีศฺวร อาชฺญาคฺราหิโภฺย ยํ ปวิตฺรมฺ อาตฺมนํ ทตฺตวานฺ โสปิ สากฺษฺยสฺติฯ
33 And, they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and were making up their minds to slay them.
เอตทฺวาเกฺย ศฺรุเต เตษำ หฺฤทยานิ วิทฺธานฺยภวนฺ ตตเสฺต ตานฺ หนฺตุํ มนฺตฺริตวนฺต: ฯ
34 But a certain man, rising up in the high-council, by name Gamaliel, a law-teacher honoured by all the people, gave orders to put the men, outside, for a little, —
เอตสฺมินฺเนว สมเย ตตฺสภาสฺถานำ สรฺวฺวโลกานำ มเธฺย สุขฺยาโต คมิลีเยลฺนามก เอโก ชโน วฺยวสฺถาปก: ผิรูศิโลก อุตฺถาย เปฺรริตานฺ กฺษณารฺถํ สฺถานานฺตรํ คนฺตุมฺ อาทิศฺย กถิตวานฺ,
35 And said unto them—Men of Israel! be taking heed unto yourselves, what ye are about to inflict upon these men.
เห อิสฺราเยลฺวํศียา: สรฺเวฺว ยูยมฺ เอตานฺ มานุษานฺ ปฺรติ ยตฺ กรฺตฺตุมฺ อุทฺยตาสฺตสฺมินฺ สาวธานา ภวตฯ
36 For, before these days, there rose up one Theudas, affirming, himself, to be somebody, —unto whom was inclined a number of men, about four hundred; who was slain, and, all as many as had been trusting in him, were disbanded, and came to nothing.
อิต: ปูรฺวฺวํ ถูทานาไมโก ชน อุปสฺถาย สฺวํ กมปิ มหาปุรุษมฺ อวทตฺ, ตต: ปฺราเยณ จตุ: ศตโลกาสฺตสฺย มตคฺราหิโณภวนฺ ปศฺจาตฺ ส หโตภวตฺ ตสฺยาชฺญาคฺราหิโณ ยาวนฺโต โลกาเสฺต สรฺเวฺว วิรฺกีรฺณา: สนฺโต 'กฺฤตการฺยฺยา อภวนฺฯ
37 After him, rose up Judas the Galilaean, in the days of the enrolling, and drew a people into revolt after him; and, he, perished, and, all, as many as had trusted in him, were scattered.
ตสฺมาชฺชนาตฺ ปรํ นามเลขนสมเย คาลีลียยิหูทานาไมโก ชน อุปสฺถาย พหูโลฺลกานฺ สฺวมตํ คฺราหีตวานฺ ตต: โสปิ วฺยนศฺยตฺ ตสฺยาชฺญาคฺราหิโณ ยาวนฺโต โลกา อาสนฺ เต สรฺเวฺว วิกีรฺณา อภวนฺฯ
38 Now, therefore, I say unto you—stand aloof from these men, and let them alone; because if, of men, be this project or this work, it will be overthrown, —
อธุนา วทามิ, ยูยมฺ เอตานฺ มนุษฺยานฺ ปฺรติ กิมปิ น กฺฤตฺวา กฺษานฺตา ภวต, ยต เอษ สงฺกลฺป เอตตฺ กรฺมฺม จ ยทิ มนุษฺยาทภวตฺ ตรฺหิ วิผลํ ภวิษฺยติฯ
39 But, if it is, of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them: lest once, even fighters against God, ye be found.
ยทีศฺวราทภวตฺ ตรฺหิ ยูยํ ตสฺยานฺยถา กรฺตฺตุํ น ศกฺษฺยถ, วรมฺ อีศฺวรโรธกา ภวิษฺยถฯ
40 And they were persuaded by him; and, calling unto them the Apostles, they, with beating, charged them not be speaking upon the name of Jesus; and let them go.
ตทา ตสฺย มนฺตฺรณำ สฺวีกฺฤตฺย เต เปฺรริตานฺ อาหูย ปฺรหฺฤตฺย ยีโศ รฺนามฺนา กามปิ กถำ กถยิตุํ นิษิธฺย วฺยสรฺชนฺฯ
41 They, therefore, went rejoicing from the presence of the high-council; in that they had been accounted worthy, in behalf of The Name, to suffer dishonour.
กินฺตุ ตสฺย นามารฺถํ วยํ ลชฺชาโภคสฺย โยคฺยเตฺวน คณิตา อิตฺยตฺร เต สานนฺทา: สนฺต: สภาสฺถานำ สากฺษาทฺ อคจฺฉนฺฯ
42 And, every day in the temple, and at home, they ceased not to be teaching, and telling the good news as to the Anointed Jesus.
ตต: ปรํ ปฺรติทินํ มนฺทิเร คฺฤเห คฺฤเห จาวิศฺรามมฺ อุปทิศฺย ยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺย สุสํวาทํ ปฺรจาริตวนฺต: ฯ
