Acts 5
1 But, a certain man, Ananias by name, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
తదా అనానియనామక ఏకో జనో యస్య భార్య్యాయా నామ సఫీరా స స్వాధికారం విక్రీయ
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it; and, bringing a certain part, at the feet of the Apostles, he laid it.
స్వభార్య్యాం జ్ఞాపయిత్వా తన్మూల్యస్యైకాంశం సఙ్గోప్య స్థాపయిత్వా తదన్యాంశమాత్రమానీయ ప్రేరితానాం చరణేషు సమర్పితవాన్|
3 But Peter said—Ananias! wherefore did Satan fill thy heart, that thou shouldst deal falsely with the Holy Spirit, and keep back part of the price of the field?
తస్మాత్ పితరోకథయత్ హే అనానియ భూమే ర్మూల్యం కిఞ్చిత్ సఙ్గోప్య స్థాపయితుం పవిత్రస్యాత్మనః సన్నిధౌ మృషావాక్యం కథయితుఞ్చ శైతాన్ కుతస్తవాన్తఃకరణే ప్రవృత్తిమజనయత్?
4 While it remained, was it not, as thine own, it remained? and, when sold, was it not, in thine own authority, that it still continued? Why was it that thou didst contrive in thy heart this deed? Thou hast not dealt falsely with men but, with God.
సా భూమి ర్యదా తవ హస్తగతా తదా కిం తవ స్వీయా నాసీత్? తర్హి స్వాన్తఃకరణే కుత ఏతాదృశీ కుకల్పనా త్వయా కృతా? త్వం కేవలమనుష్యస్య నికటే మృషావాక్యం నావాదీః కిన్త్వీశ్వరస్య నికటేఽపి|
5 And, as Ananias heard these words, he fell, and expired. And there came great fear upon all that heard;
ఏతాం కథాం శ్రుత్వైవ సోఽనానియో భూమౌ పతన్ ప్రాణాన్ అత్యజత్, తద్వృత్తాన్తం యావన్తో లోకా అశృణ్వన్ తేషాం సర్వ్వేషాం మహాభయమ్ అజాయత్|
6 But the young men, rising up, wrapped him about, and, bearing him forth, buried him.
తదా యువలోకాస్తం వస్త్రేణాచ్ఛాద్య బహి ర్నీత్వా శ్మశానేఽస్థాపయన్|
7 And it came to pass, after about three hours interval, that his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.
తతః ప్రహరైకానన్తరం కిం వృత్తం తన్నావగత్య తస్య భార్య్యాపి తత్ర సముపస్థితా|
8 And Peter began to say unto her—Tell me! was it, for so much, ye gave up the field? And she said—Yea! for so much.
తతః పితరస్తామ్ అపృచ్ఛత్, యువాభ్యామ్ ఏతావన్ముద్రాభ్యో భూమి ర్విక్రీతా న వా? ఏతత్వం వద; తదా సా ప్రత్యవాదీత్ సత్యమ్ ఏతావద్భ్యో ముద్రాభ్య ఏవ|
9 And, Peter, [said] unto her—Why was it agreed by you to put to the proof the Spirit of the Lord? Lo! the feet of them that have buried thy husband, are at the door, and they shall bear thee forth.
తతః పితరోకథయత్ యువాం కథం పరమేశ్వరస్యాత్మానం పరీక్షితుమ్ ఏకమన్త్రణావభవతాం? పశ్య యే తవ పతిం శ్మశానే స్థాపితవన్తస్తే ద్వారస్య సమీపే సముపతిష్ఠన్తి త్వామపి బహిర్నేష్యన్తి|
10 And she fell instantly at his feet, and expired. And the young men, coming in, found her dead; and, bearing her forth, they buried her with her husband.
తతః సాపి తస్య చరణసన్నిధౌ పతిత్వా ప్రాణాన్ అత్యాక్షీత్| పశ్చాత్ తే యువానోఽభ్యన్తరమ్ ఆగత్య తామపి మృతాం దృష్ట్వా బహి ర్నీత్వా తస్యాః పత్యుః పార్శ్వే శ్మశానే స్థాపితవన్తః|
11 And there came great fear upon the whole assembly, and upon all them that heard these things.
తస్మాత్ మణ్డల్యాః సర్వ్వే లోకా అన్యలోకాశ్చ తాం వార్త్తాం శ్రుత్వా సాధ్వసం గతాః|
12 And, through the hands of the Apostles, were coming to pass many signs and wonders among the people; and they were all with one accord in the portico of Solomon;
తతః పరం ప్రేరితానాం హస్తై ర్లోకానాం మధ్యే బహ్వాశ్చర్య్యాణ్యద్భుతాని కర్మ్మాణ్యక్రియన్త; తదా శిష్యాః సర్వ్వ ఏకచిత్తీభూయ సులేమానో ఽలిన్దే సమ్భూయాసన్|
13 Howbeit, of the rest, no one, durst join himself unto them, —nevertheless the people continued to magnify them;
తేషాం సఙ్ఘాన్తర్గో భవితుం కోపి ప్రగల్భతాం నాగమత్ కిన్తు లోకాస్తాన్ సమాద్రియన్త|
14 And, the more, were being added, when they believed in the Lord, throngs both of men and women; —
స్త్రియః పురుషాశ్చ బహవో లోకా విశ్వాస్య ప్రభుం శరణమాపన్నాః|
15 So that, even into the broad-ways, were they bringing forth the sick, and laying them on small couches and beds, in order that, if Peter were coming along, even perchance his shadow, might overshadow some one of them.
పితరస్య గమనాగమనాభ్యాం కేనాపి ప్రకారేణ తస్య ఛాయా కస్మింశ్చిజ్జనే లగిష్యతీత్యాశయా లోకా రోగిణః శివికయా ఖట్వయా చానీయ పథి పథి స్థాపితవన్తః|
16 Moreover even the throng of the cities all round Jerusalem was coming together, bearing sick folk, and such as were harassed by impure spirits, —who, indeed, were being cured, one and all.
చతుర్దిక్స్థనగరేభ్యో బహవో లోకాః సమ్భూయ రోగిణోఽపవిత్రభుతగ్రస్తాంశ్చ యిరూశాలమమ్ ఆనయన్ తతః సర్వ్వే స్వస్థా అక్రియన్త|
17 But the High-priest, arising, and all who were with him, —being the sect of the Sadducees, —were filled with jealousy,
అనన్తరం మహాయాజకః సిదూకినాం మతగ్రాహిణస్తేషాం సహచరాశ్చ
18 And thrust their hands upon the Apostles, and put them in a public ward.
మహాక్రోధాన్త్వితాః సన్తః ప్రేరితాన్ ధృత్వా నీచలోకానాం కారాయాం బద్ధ్వా స్థాపితవన్తః|
19 But, a messenger of the Lord, by night, opened the doors of the prison; and, leading them out, said—
కిన్తు రాత్రౌ పరమేశ్వరస్య దూతః కారాయా ద్వారం మోచయిత్వా తాన్ బహిరానీయాకథయత్,
20 Be going your way, and, taking your stand, be speaking, in the temple, unto the people, all the declarations of this Life.
యూయం గత్వా మన్దిరే దణ్డాయమానాః సన్తో లోకాన్ ప్రతీమాం జీవనదాయికాం సర్వ్వాం కథాం ప్రచారయత|
21 Now, when they heard this, they entered, under the dawn, into the temple, and began teaching. And the High-priest and they who were with him, arriving, called together the high-council, and all the senate of the sons of Israel; and sent off unto the prison, to have them brought.
ఇతి శ్రుత్వా తే ప్రత్యూషే మన్దిర ఉపస్థాయ ఉపదిష్టవన్తః| తదా సహచరగణేన సహితో మహాయాజక ఆగత్య మన్త్రిగణమ్ ఇస్రాయేల్వంశస్య సర్వ్వాన్ రాజసభాసదః సభాస్థాన్ కృత్వా కారాయాస్తాన్ ఆపయితుం పదాతిగణం ప్రేరితవాన్|
22 And, the officers who came to the place, found them not in the prison; and, returning, brought tidings,
తతస్తే గత్వా కారాయాం తాన్ అప్రాప్య ప్రత్యాగత్య ఇతి వార్త్తామ్ అవాదిషుః,
23 Saying—The prison, found we locked with all safety, and the keepers standing at the doors; but, when we had opened the prison, inside, found we, no one.
వయం తత్ర గత్వా నిర్వ్విఘ్నం కారాయా ద్వారం రుద్ధం రక్షకాంశ్చ ద్వారస్య బహిర్దణ్డాయమానాన్ అదర్శామ ఏవ కిన్తు ద్వారం మోచయిత్వా తన్మధ్యే కమపి ద్రష్టుం న ప్రాప్తాః|
24 Now, when both the captain of the temple and the High-priests heard these words, they were utterly at a loss concerning them—what perhaps this might come to.
ఏతాం కథాం శ్రుత్వా మహాయాజకో మన్దిరస్య సేనాపతిః ప్రధానయాజకాశ్చ, ఇత పరం కిమపరం భవిష్యతీతి చిన్తయిత్వా సన్దిగ్ధచిత్తా అభవన్|
25 But some one, entering, brought tidings unto them—Lo! the men whom ye put in the prison, are in the temple, standing, and teaching the people!
ఏతస్మిన్నేవ సమయే కశ్చిత్ జన ఆగత్య వార్త్తామేతామ్ అవదత్ పశ్యత యూయం యాన్ మానవాన్ కారాయామ్ అస్థాపయత తే మన్దిరే తిష్ఠన్తో లోకాన్ ఉపదిశన్తి|
26 Then, the captain with the officers, departing, brought them—not with violence, —for they were afraid of the people, lest they should be stoned;
తదా మన్దిరస్య సేనాపతిః పదాతయశ్చ తత్ర గత్వా చేల్లోకాః పాషాణాన్ నిక్షిప్యాస్మాన్ మారయన్తీతి భియా వినత్యాచారం తాన్ ఆనయన్|
27 But, leading them in, set them in the high- council. And the High-priest questioned them,
తే మహాసభాయా మధ్యే తాన్ అస్థాపయన్ తతః పరం మహాయాజకస్తాన్ అపృచ్ఛత్,
28 Saying—Strictly, did we charge you not to be teaching upon this name; and lo! ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and are minded to bring down upon us, the blood of this man.
అనేన నామ్నా సముపదేష్టుం వయం కిం దృఢం న న్యషేధామ? తథాపి పశ్యత యూయం స్వేషాం తేనోపదేశేనే యిరూశాలమం పరిపూర్ణం కృత్వా తస్య జనస్య రక్తపాతజనితాపరాధమ్ అస్మాన్ ప్రత్యానేతుం చేష్టధ్వే|
29 But Peter and the Apostles, answering, said—It is needful to be yielding obedience unto God rather than unto men: —
తతః పితరోన్యప్రేరితాశ్చ ప్రత్యవదన్ మానుషస్యాజ్ఞాగ్రహణాద్ ఈశ్వరస్యాజ్ఞాగ్రహణమ్ అస్మాకముచితమ్|
30 The God of our fathers, hath raised up Jesus, —whom, ye, got into your hands, suspending him upon a tree: —
యం యీశుం యూయం క్రుశే వేధిత్వాహత తమ్ అస్మాకం పైతృక ఈశ్వర ఉత్థాప్య
31 Him, as Princely-leader and Saviour, hath God exalted unto his right hand, —to give repentance unto Israel, and remission of sins.
ఇస్రాయేల్వంశానాం మనఃపరివర్త్తనం పాపక్షమాఞ్చ కర్త్తుం రాజానం పరిత్రాతారఞ్చ కృత్వా స్వదక్షిణపార్శ్వే తస్యాన్నతిమ్ అకరోత్|
32 And, we, are witnesses of these things, —also the Holy Spirit, which God hath given unto them who are yielding obedience unto him.
ఏతస్మిన్ వయమపి సాక్షిణ ఆస్మహే, తత్ కేవలం నహి, ఈశ్వర ఆజ్ఞాగ్రాహిభ్యో యం పవిత్రమ్ ఆత్మనం దత్తవాన్ సోపి సాక్ష్యస్తి|
33 And, they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and were making up their minds to slay them.
ఏతద్వాక్యే శ్రుతే తేషాం హృదయాని విద్ధాన్యభవన్ తతస్తే తాన్ హన్తుం మన్త్రితవన్తః|
34 But a certain man, rising up in the high-council, by name Gamaliel, a law-teacher honoured by all the people, gave orders to put the men, outside, for a little, —
ఏతస్మిన్నేవ సమయే తత్సభాస్థానాం సర్వ్వలోకానాం మధ్యే సుఖ్యాతో గమిలీయేల్నామక ఏకో జనో వ్యవస్థాపకః ఫిరూశిలోక ఉత్థాయ ప్రేరితాన్ క్షణార్థం స్థానాన్తరం గన్తుమ్ ఆదిశ్య కథితవాన్,
35 And said unto them—Men of Israel! be taking heed unto yourselves, what ye are about to inflict upon these men.
హే ఇస్రాయేల్వంశీయాః సర్వ్వే యూయమ్ ఏతాన్ మానుషాన్ ప్రతి యత్ కర్త్తుమ్ ఉద్యతాస్తస్మిన్ సావధానా భవత|
36 For, before these days, there rose up one Theudas, affirming, himself, to be somebody, —unto whom was inclined a number of men, about four hundred; who was slain, and, all as many as had been trusting in him, were disbanded, and came to nothing.
ఇతః పూర్వ్వం థూదానామైకో జన ఉపస్థాయ స్వం కమపి మహాపురుషమ్ అవదత్, తతః ప్రాయేణ చతుఃశతలోకాస్తస్య మతగ్రాహిణోభవన్ పశ్చాత్ స హతోభవత్ తస్యాజ్ఞాగ్రాహిణో యావన్తో లోకాస్తే సర్వ్వే విర్కీర్ణాః సన్తో ఽకృతకార్య్యా అభవన్|
37 After him, rose up Judas the Galilaean, in the days of the enrolling, and drew a people into revolt after him; and, he, perished, and, all, as many as had trusted in him, were scattered.
తస్మాజ్జనాత్ పరం నామలేఖనసమయే గాలీలీయయిహూదానామైకో జన ఉపస్థాయ బహూల్లోకాన్ స్వమతం గ్రాహీతవాన్ తతః సోపి వ్యనశ్యత్ తస్యాజ్ఞాగ్రాహిణో యావన్తో లోకా ఆసన్ తే సర్వ్వే వికీర్ణా అభవన్|
38 Now, therefore, I say unto you—stand aloof from these men, and let them alone; because if, of men, be this project or this work, it will be overthrown, —
అధునా వదామి, యూయమ్ ఏతాన్ మనుష్యాన్ ప్రతి కిమపి న కృత్వా క్షాన్తా భవత, యత ఏష సఙ్కల్ప ఏతత్ కర్మ్మ చ యది మనుష్యాదభవత్ తర్హి విఫలం భవిష్యతి|
39 But, if it is, of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them: lest once, even fighters against God, ye be found.
యదీశ్వరాదభవత్ తర్హి యూయం తస్యాన్యథా కర్త్తుం న శక్ష్యథ, వరమ్ ఈశ్వరరోధకా భవిష్యథ|
40 And they were persuaded by him; and, calling unto them the Apostles, they, with beating, charged them not be speaking upon the name of Jesus; and let them go.
తదా తస్య మన్త్రణాం స్వీకృత్య తే ప్రేరితాన్ ఆహూయ ప్రహృత్య యీశో ర్నామ్నా కామపి కథాం కథయితుం నిషిధ్య వ్యసర్జన్|
41 They, therefore, went rejoicing from the presence of the high-council; in that they had been accounted worthy, in behalf of The Name, to suffer dishonour.
కిన్తు తస్య నామార్థం వయం లజ్జాభోగస్య యోగ్యత్వేన గణితా ఇత్యత్ర తే సానన్దాః సన్తః సభాస్థానాం సాక్షాద్ అగచ్ఛన్|
42 And, every day in the temple, and at home, they ceased not to be teaching, and telling the good news as to the Anointed Jesus.
తతః పరం ప్రతిదినం మన్దిరే గృహే గృహే చావిశ్రామమ్ ఉపదిశ్య యీశుఖ్రీష్టస్య సుసంవాదం ప్రచారితవన్తః|
