< Acts 13 >
1 Now there were in Antioch, distributed through the existing assembly, —prophets and teachers: both Barnabas and Symeon who was called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen also, Herod the tetrarch’s foster-brother, and Saul.
Mu msambi wa vandu vevakumsadika Kilisitu va ku Antiokia kwavili na vandu vangi vevavi vamlota va Chapanga na vawula, pagati yavi vavi Banaba na Sauli na Simioni mweikemiwa mtitu, Lukio wa Kulene, Manaeni mwealeliwi pamonga na Nkosi Helodi.
2 And, as they were publicly ministering unto the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said—Separate forthwith unto me, Barnabas and Saul, unto the work whereunto I have called them.
Pavamuyupayi Bambu na kujihinisa chakulya, Mpungu Msopi akavajovela, “Mnihagulila Banaba na Sauli ndava ya lihengu lenivakemelili.”
3 Then, fasting and praying, and laying their hands upon them, they sent them away.
Hinu vakajihinisa chakulya neju na kumuyupa Chapanga, vakavapamisa mawoko panani yavi vakavatuma vahamba.
4 They, therefore, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down unto Seleucia, and, from thence, sailed away unto Cyprus;
Hinu, Mpungu Msopi peamali kuvatuma Banaba na Sauli, vakahelela mbaka Seleukia na kuhuma kwenuko vakayingila muwatu mbaka kukisiwa cha Kuplo.
5 And, coming to be in Salamis, they declared the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; —and they had, John also, as an attendant.
Pavahikili ku Salami vakakokosa Lilovi la Chapanga munyumba za kukonganekela Vayawudi. Yohani Maluko avi mtangatila wavi.
6 And, passing through the whole island, as far as Paphos, they found a certain man, a magician, a false-prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus;
Vagendili kuhuma upandi umonga na kuhamba upandi wungi wa kisiwa na kuhika Pafo, vamkolili mundu mmonga Myawudi mhavi liina laki Bal yesu mlota wa udese.
7 Who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. The same, calling for Barnabas and Saul, sought to hear the word of God.
Mwenuyo avi pamonga na Seligio Pauli, mkulu wa kisiwa chila avi mundu wa luhala neju. Selgio Pauli avakemili Banaba na Sauli muni ayuwana Lilovi la Chapanga.
8 But Elymas the magician, —for so, when translated, is his name, —withstood them; seeking to turn aside the proconsul from the faith.
Nambu mhavi yula Bal yesu mweikemelewa Elima kwa Chigiliki, alingili kuvabelelela muni kumbesa mkulu wa kisiwa chila akotoka kusadika sadika ya Chikilisitu.
9 But Saul, who is also Paul, filled with Holy Spirit, looking steadfastly at him,
Hinu Sauli mweikemiwa mewa Pauli, kuni amemisiwi Mpungu Msopi, akamlolokesa takataka mhavi yula,
10 Said—O full of all guile, and all recklessness! Son of an adversary! Enemy of all righteousness!—Wilt thou not cease to pervert the straight ways of the Lord?
na kujova, “Veve wamwana wa Setani, likoko wa kila chindu chechimganisa Chapanga, mweumemili uhakau na udese. Nakuleka hati padebe kubudisa uchakaka wa njila selede za Bambu!
11 Now, therefore, lo! the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun, until a fitting time. And, instantly, there fell upon him a mist and darkness; and, going about, he was seeking such as might lead him by the hand.
Hinu, chiwoko cha Bambu yati chikubuna, yati wivya ngalola nakuhotola kulola lilanga mulukumbi.” Bahapo Elima chitita chikayingila mumihu gaki hati gakakoyoko, hati akatumbula kupamisa kuni na kuni, kulonda mundu wa kumkamula chiwoko amulongosa.
12 Then, the proconsul, seeing what had happened, believed, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.
Mkulu wa kisiwa yula peagawene mambu gala, akasadika, akakangasa neju ndava ya mawuliwu gakumvala Bambu.
13 And, setting sail from Paphos, Paul’s company came into Perga of Pamphylia; but, John, withdrawing from them, returned unto Jerusalem.
Kangi Pauli na vayaki vakawuka Pafo, vakayingila muwatu na kuhamba kumuji wa Peliga mulima wa Pamfulia. Nambu Yohani Maluko avalekili na kuwuya ku Yelusalemu.
14 They, however, passing through from Perga, arrived at Antioch of Pisidia; and, going into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, sat down.
Nambu vene vayendalili na lugendu kuhuma Peliga mbaka pamuji wa Antiokia ya Pisidia. Ligono la Kupumulila vakayingila munyumba ya kukonganekela Vayawudi na kutama pahi.
15 And, after the reading of the law and the prophets, the synagogue-rulers sent unto them, saying—Brethren! if there is in you a word of exhortation unto the people, say on.
Pevamali kusoma muchitabu cha malagizu ga Bambu geampeli Musa na Mayandiku ga Vamlota va Chapanga, vala vachilongosi va nyumba ya kukonganekela Vayawudi yila vavatumili ujumbi uwu, “Valongo ngati kuvi na malovi ga kuvakangamalisa mitima vandu ava mujova.”
16 And Paul, standing up, and making a sign with his hand, said—Ye men of Israel! and such as revere God! hearken: —
Ndi Pauli akayima na kuvapungila chiwoko na kutumbula kuvajovela, “Vakolonjinji va Isilaeli na voha mwemumtopesa Chapanga, muniyuwanila!
17 The God of this people Israel, chose our fathers, and, the people, he exalted, by their sojourn in the land of Egypt, —and, with a high arm, brought he them out of it;
Chapanga wa mulima uwu wa Isilaeli avahagwili vagogo vitu, akavakita vandu va kuvya mulima uvaha pavatamayi kuuyehe ku Misili. Kangi akavawusa kwenuko kwa makakala gaki.
18 And, for the time of about forty years, bare with their manners in the desert;
Akasindimala nawu mulukumbi lwa miyaka alobaini kulugangatu kula.
19 And, overthrowing seven nations in the land of Canaan, gave them their land as an inheritance—about four hundred and fifty years.
Akagakomekesa makabila saba ga mulima wa Kanani ndi akavapela mulima wenuwo vandu avo kuvya uhali wavi.
20 And, after these things, he gave them judges, until Samuel the prophet.
Mambu ago gahengiki kwa lukumbi lwa miyaka miya mcheche na hamsini.” “Kangi akavapela vahamula mihalu vavalongosa mbaka magono ga mlota wa Chapanga Samueli.
21 And, from that time, they asked for themselves a king, and God gave them Saul, son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, during forty years;
Chechagelekili ndi vakamyupa nkosi, ndi Chapanga akavapela Sauli mwana wa Kishi wa lukolo lwa Benjamini, akalongosa mulukumbi lwa miyaka alobaini.
22 And, setting him aside, raised up, David, unto them for king, —of whom he also said, bearing witness—I have found David, the son of Jesse, —[a man] according to my heart, who will do all my will.
Peamuwusili Sauli, Chapanga akamhagula Daudi avya nkosi wavi. Chapanga mwene akavajovela hotohoto, nimhagwili Daudi mwana wa Yese, ndava muni mundu mweakuniganisa. Mwenuyo ndi mweihenga mambu goha genikugagana.
23 From this man’s seed, hath God, according to promise, brought unto Israel, a saviour—Jesus:
Kuhuma mu chiveleku cha mundu mwenuyo, Chapanga ngati cheavalagizi vandu va Isilaeli kuvapelekela Msangula ndi Yesu.
24 John, beforehand proclaiming, before the face of his coming in, an immersion of repentance, unto all the people of Israel.
Yesu peavi akona kutumbula lihengu laki, Yohani amlongolili na kuvakokosela vandu voha va Isilaeli kuvya yikuvagana vamuwuyila Chapanga na kubatiziwa.
25 And, as John was fulfilling his course, he was saying—Whom are ye supposing that I am? I, am not he! But lo! there cometh, after me, one of whom I am not worthy, the sandals of his feet, to loosen.
Yohani peavi mukumala ujumbi waki avajovili vandu, Mwiholela nene ndi yani? Mwemkumlindila lepi nene. Nambu yuwanila! Mweibwela mumbela yangu, nene nakuganikiwa hati kuwopola nyosi za champali zaki!”
26 Brethren! sons of the race of Abraham, and those who among you revere God, —unto you, hath this word of salvation been sent forth.
“Valongo vangu, nyenye chiveleku cha Ibulahimu, na vangi voha mwemkumtopesa Chapanga! Ujumbi uwu wa usangula uletiwi kwitu!
27 For, they who were dwelling in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not recognising him, have, by judging him, fulfilled, the very voices of the prophets which every sabbath are being read;
Muni vakolonjinji va Yelusalemu na vakulu vavi vammanyili lepi Yesu kuvya Msangula, katu nakugamanya malovi ga vamlota va Chapanga gegasomewa kila Ligono la Kupumulila. Pamonga na ago vakagatimilisi kwa kumkoma Yesu lifwa.
28 And, though no single cause of death they found, yet claimed they of Pilate that he should be slain.
Pamonga na avi lepi na yeyikumgana akomiwa, vamyupili Pilatu amhukumwa lifwa.
29 And, when they had finished all those things which, concerning him, had been written, taking him down from the tree, they put him in a tomb.
Na pevamali kuhenga goha gegayandikiwi kumvala Yesu, vakamuhulusa kuhuma mu msalaba, vakamvika mu litinda la mbugu.
30 But, God, raised him from among the dead:
Nambu Chapanga amuyukisi kwevafwili.
31 Who appeared, during many days, unto them who had come up with him from Galilee unto Jerusalem; who, indeed, [now] are his witnesses unto the people.
Mwene kwa magono gamahele, avahumalili vealongosini nawu kuhuma ku Galilaya mbaka ku Yelusalemu. Venavo ndi hinu vandu vevakujovela vandu va Isilaeli mambu ga Yesu.
32 We, therefore, unto you, bring the good news, as to the promise which, unto our fathers, was made, —
Hinu tete tikuvakokosela nyenye Lilovi la Bwina, lenilo ndi lilaganu kwa vagogo vitu,
33 That God hath fulfilled, the same, for our children, by raising up Jesus: as also, in the second psalm, it is written—My son, art, thou: I, this day, have begotten thee.
Chapanga ahengili lilaganu lenilo ndava yitu tete chiveleku chavi kwa kumyukisa Yesu, ngati cheyiyandikiwi Muzabuli ya pili, ‘Veve ndi Wamwana vangu na nene lelu na Dadi waku.’
34 And, in that he raised him from among the dead, no more destined to return unto corruption, on this wise hath he spoken—I will give unto you the faithful lovingkindnesses of David.
Na ndava ya kumyukisa kwevafwili, nakuwuya kavili kwenuko ndi awolili lepi. Chapanga ajovili, ‘Yati nikupela mota ya usopi na uchakaka zezanamlagazili Daudi.’
35 Wherefore also, in a different [place], he saith—Thou wilt not give thy man of lovingkindness to see corruption.
Hinu wijova mu mayandiku gangi ga Zabuli, ‘Umleka lepi Msopi waku awola.’
36 For, David, indeed, unto his own generation having done service, by the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was added unto fathers, and saw corruption;
Daudi mwene ahengili geigana Chapanga mulukumbi lwaki, na kangi afwili na kuvikiwa mu litinda la mbugu papipi na vagogo vaki, na higa yaki yawolili.
37 But, he whom God hath raised, did not see corruption.
Nambu yula mweayukiswi na Chapanga kwa vafwili awolili lepi.
38 Be it known unto you, therefore, brethren, —that, through this man, unto you, remission of sins is declared;
Ndava muni valongo vitu tigana nyenye mumanya chakaka kuvya munjila ya Yesu, ujumbi wa kulekekesewa kumbudila Chapanga ukokoswa kwinu,
39 And, from all things from which ye could not, by the law of Moses, be justified, by this man, everyone that believeth, is justified.
mundu yoyoha mweamsadika mwene ndi ilekekesewa kumbudila Chapanga kwoha, lijambu langahotoleka ndava ya kulanda Malagizu ga Bambu geampeli Musa.
40 Be taking heed, therefore, lest that come upon you which hath been spoken in the prophets—
Mujiyangalila, gegajoviwi na vamlota va Chapanga gala gakotoka kuvakolela,
41 See, ye despisers, and marvel, and disappear: in that, a work, am, I, working in your days, —a work, which in nowise will ye believe, though one relate it in full unto you.
‘Myuwanila, nyenye mwemuvi na likomo, mkangasayi na mfwayi! Muni chindu chenihenga hinu, mulusenje lwinu, yati musadika lepi hati ngati mundu avajovoli.’”
42 And, as they were going out, they kept on beseeching that, on the ensuing sabbath, might be spoken unto them these things.
Pauli na Banaba pavawukili munyumba ya kuyupila Chapanga mula, vandu vala vakavagongolela vabwela Ligono la Kupumulila leligelekela, vavakangamalisa mambu gala.
43 And, when the congregation was broken up, there followed many of the Jews, and of the devout proselytes, with Paul and Barnabas; who, indeed, in speaking unto them, went on persuading them to abide in the favour of God.
Mngonganu wula pawamaliki Vayawudi vamahele na vandu vangali Vayawudi vevayingili njila ya kumuyupa Chapanga ya Vayawudi ndi vakavalanda Pauli na Banaba. Vene vakalongela nawu na kuvakangamalisa mitima vayendelela kutama kwa kuhuvalila ubwina wa Chapanga.
44 And, on the coming sabbath, almost all the city, was gathered together, to hear the word of God.
Ligono la Kupumulila lila lelagelekili kila mundu pamuji wula abwelili kuyuwanila Lilovi la Bambu.
45 But, the Jews, seeing, the multitudes, were filled with jealousy, —and began speaking against the things which, by Paul, were being spoken, defaming them.
Nambu Vayawudi pavawaweni vandu vamahele vakamema wihu, vakagabela malovi gaajovayi Pauli na vakamliga.
46 And Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly, said—Unto you, was it necessary, that the word of God should first be spoken: seeing ye are thrusting it from you, and, unworthy, are judging yourselves of the age-abiding life, lo! we turn unto the nations; (aiōnios )
Pauli na Banaba vakalongela kwa ukekesi neju, “Yaganikiwi Lilovi la Chapanga litumbula kuvahikila hoti nyenye, nambu ndava mulibelili na kuvya nakuhotola kupokela wumi wa magono goha, hinu tikuvaleka na kuvahambila vandu vangali Vayawudi. (aiōnios )
47 For so hath the Lord commanded us—I have set thee for a light of nations, that thou mayest be for salvation unto the end of the earth.
Muni Bambu atilagazili aga, ‘Nikuviki lumuli lwa vandu va pamulima, muni vandu voha vasanguliwa pamilima yoha.’”
48 And they of the nations, hearing [this], began to rejoice, and to be glorifying God, and they believed—as many as had become disposed for life age-abiding. (aiōnios )
Vandu vangali Vayawudi pevayuwini lijambu lila vakavya na luheku, vakaulumbalila ujumbi wa Bambu na vevahaguliwi vala kupewa na wumi wa magono goha wangali mwishu, vakavya vamsadika. (aiōnios )
49 And the word of the Lord went on to be carried through the whole country.
Lilovi la Bambu ladandasiki kila pandu pamulima.
50 But, the Jews, urged on the devout women of the higher class, and the chief men of the city, and roused up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, —and thrust them out from their bounds.
Nambu Vayawudi vakavakulukisa vadala vangali Vayawudi vevitopeswa vevakumuyupa Chapanga na vagosi vevimanyikana wa muji wula. Vakatumbula kuvang'aha Pauli na Banaba, vakavavinga vahuma pamuji wavi.
51 But they, shaking off the dust of their feet against them, came into Iconium.
Hinu vamitumi vala vakakung'unda lububu mumagendelu gavi kulangisa vabeli Lilovi la Bambu na vakahamba ku Ikonio.
52 And, the disciples, were filled with joy, and with Holy Spirit.
Na vamsadika va ku Antiokia, ndi vamemiswi luheku na Mpungu Msopi.
