< Acts 11 >

1 Now the Apostles and the brethren who were throughout Judaea heard that, the nations also, had welcomed the word of God.
2 And, when Peter came up unto Jerusalem, they of the circumcision began to find fault with him,
Ke esi Petro trɔ va ɖo Yerusalem la, xɔsetɔ siwo tso aʋa la he nya ɖe eŋu vevie.
3 Saying—he went in unto men uncircumcised, and did eat with them.
Wogblɔ be, “Wò la, eɖade ha kple ame siwo metso aʋa o, eye mi kple wo miede asi agba ɖeka me ɖu nu gɔ̃!”
4 But Peter, making a beginning, went on to set forth the matter unto them in order, saying—
Esia na be Petro gblɔ ale si nyawo katã va dzɔe la na wo.
5 I was in the city of Joppa praying, and saw in a trance, a vision: —coming down a sort of vessel, like a large sheet, by four corners, being let down out of heaven, and it came even unto me:
Egblɔ na wo be, “Gbe ɖeka la, esime menɔ gbe dom ɖa le Yopa la, mekpɔ ŋutega aɖe. Nu si tututu mekpɔ lae nye be aklala gã aɖe si wotsi ka ɖe eƒe dzogoe eneawo dzi la ɖiɖi ɖe gbɔnye tso dziƒo.
6 Into which steadfastly looking, began to observe, and saw the quadrupeds of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the birds of heaven.
7 Moreover heard a voice also, saying unto me—Rise, Peter! slay and eat.
Mese gbe aɖe wònɔ gbɔgblɔm nam be, ‘Petro, tsi tsitre. Wu lã siawo ne nàɖu.’
8 But I said—By no means, Lord, because, a common or unclean thing, hath at no time entered into my mouth.
“Ke meɖo eŋu be, ‘Kpao, Aƒetɔ, nyemate ŋu awɔ esia o. Nyemeɖu lã makɔmakɔ siawo dometɔ aɖeke kpɔ o.’
9 And a voice answered, a second time, out of heaven—What things, God, hath cleansed, be not, thou, making common.
“Ke megase gbeɖiɖi la tso dziƒo wògblɔ nam be, ‘Ne Mawu da asi ɖe nane dzi be ekɔ la, wò la, mègagblɔ be mekɔ o!’
10 And, this, took place thrice, —and the whole was drawn up again into heaven;
“Nuwɔna sia yi edzi zi etɔ̃ sɔŋ, eye emegbe la, wohe aklala la kple nu siwo katã nɔ edzi la yi dziƒoe.
11 And lo! immediately, three men halted at the house wherein we were, sent from Caesarea unto me.
Le ɣe ma ɣi me tututu la, ame dɔdɔ etɔ̃ aɖewo tso Kaesarea va ɖo aƒe si me menɔ la me be yewoakplɔm ayi Kaesarea.
12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. And there went with me these six brethren also; and we entered into the house of the man,
Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la de dzi ƒo nam be magaxa nu be womenye Yudatɔwo o, ke boŋ mayi kpli wo, eya ta nye kple nɔvinye ade siwo le afi sia la míedze mɔ heyi. Eteƒe medidi o la, míeva ɖo ame si dɔ ame ɖo ɖem la ƒe aƒe me le Kaesarea.
13 And he related to us how he had seen the messenger in his house, standing, and saying—Send away unto Joppa, and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter;
Ŋutsu sia gblɔ ale si mawudɔla aɖe ɖe eɖokui fiae eye wògblɔ na ye be, ‘Dɔ ame ɖo ɖe Yopa ne woayɔ Simɔn si wogayɔna hã be Petro la vɛ na wò.
14 Who shall speak words unto thee, whereby thou shall be saved, thou, and all thy house.
Atsɔ gbedeasi aɖe vɛ na wò si ana be wò kple wò aƒe siaa miakpɔ ɖeɖe.’
15 And, as I began to be speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as upon us also at the beginning.
“Esi mese nya sia la, mede asi nyanyui la gbɔgblɔ me na wo. Ke esi mele nyaa gbɔgblɔ dzi la, Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la ŋutɔ dze wo dzi abe ale si tututu wòdze míawo hã dzii le gɔmedzedzea ene.
16 And I was put in mind of the word of the Lord, how he used to say—John, indeed, immersed with water; but, ye, shall be immersed in Holy Spirit.
Esi nu sia dzɔ alea ko la, Aƒetɔ ƒe nya si wògblɔ be, ‘Yohanes, de mawutsi ta na amewo kple tsi, ke miawo la, woade mawutsi ta na mi kple Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la’ va ta me nam enumake.
17 If therefore the like free-gift God gave unto them, as even unto us, when we had believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who was, I, that could withstand God?
Azɔ esi wònye Mawu ŋutɔe na nunana sia ame siawo abe ale si wòna míawo hã be míaxɔ Aƒetɔ Yesu Kristo dzi se ene ta la, ame kae menye be mahe nya kple Mawu?”
18 And, having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying—Hence, even unto the nations, God hath granted repentance unto life.
Esi wose Petro ƒe nya siawo la, woƒe nu ku, eye wokafu Mawu gblɔ be, “Ekema Mawu na mɔnukpɔkpɔ ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la hã be woatrɔ dzi me akpɔ agbe.”
19 They, therefore, who had been scattered abroad by reason of the tribulation that took place on account of Stephen, passed through as far as Phoenice and Cyprus and Antioch, unto no one speaking the word, save alone unto Jews.
20 And there were some from among them, Cyprians and Cyrenians, who, indeed, coming unto Antioch, began speaking, even unto the Grecian Jews, announcing the glad tidings as to the Lord Jesus;
Gake xɔsetɔ siwo tso Kipro kple Kirene heyi Antioxia la dometɔ aɖewo ƒo nu na Helatɔ aɖewo hã tso Aƒetɔ Yesu ƒe nyanyui la ŋu.
21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number—they who believed—turned unto the Lord.
22 And the matter was reported in the hearing of the assembly that was in Jerusalem, concerning them; and they sent forth Barnabas, as far as Antioch;

23 Who, arriving, and seeing the favour which was of God, rejoiced, and went on to beseech all, with the purpose of their heart, to abide [in] the Lord;

24 Because he was a good man, and full of Holy Spirit and faith; and a considerable multitude were added unto the Lord.

25 He went away, however, unto Tarsus, to seek up Saul;
Tso Antioxia la, Barnabas ti Saulo ƒe mɔ yi Tarso.
26 And, finding him, he brought him unto Antioch. And so it was with them, that, for a whole year, they were brought together in the assembly, and taught a considerable multitude; also that the disciples, first in Antioch, were called, Christians.
Esi wòke ɖe eŋu la ekplɔe, eye wo ame eve la trɔ va Antioxia henɔ afi ma ƒe ɖeka sɔŋ, nɔ nu fiam xɔsetɔwo. Antioxiae wona ŋkɔ xɔsetɔwo le zi gbãtɔ be, “Kristotɔwo.”
27 Now, in these days, there came down from Jerusalem, prophets, unto Antioch.
28 And one from among them, by name Agabus, rising up, gave a sign, through means of the Spirit, that, a great famine, was coming over all the inhabited earth; which, indeed, came to pass under Claudius.

29 And, according as any one of the disciples was being prospered, they each one of them set apart [something] for ministering, to send unto the brethren, who dwelt in Jerusalem; —

30 Which thing they also did, sending it unto the Elders, through the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
