2 Timothy 4
1 I adjure [thee] before God, and Christ Jesus—Who is about to be judging living and dead, —both as to his forthshining and his kingdom,
Je t’en conjure donc devant Dieu et devant Jésus-Christ qui doit juger les vivants et les morts, par son avènement et par son règne,
2 Proclaim the word, take thy position—in season, out of season, —convince, rebuke, encourage, —with all long-suffering and teaching.
Annonce la parole, insiste à temps et à contre-temps, reprends, supplie, menace en toute patience et doctrine.
3 For there will be a season—when, the healthful teaching, they will not endure, but, according to their own covetings, will, unto themselves, heap up teachers, because they have an itching ear,
Car viendra un temps où les hommes ne supporteront plus la saine doctrine; mais, selon leurs désirs, ils amasseront des maîtres autour d’eux, éprouvant une vive démangeaison aux oreilles;
4 And, from the truth, indeed, their ear, will they turn away, while, unto stories, they will turn themselves aside.
Et détournant l’ouïe de la vérité, ils se tourneront vers les fables.
5 But, thou, —be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do, the work, of an evangelist, thy ministry, completely fulfill;
Mais toi, veille, et ne te refuse à aucun travail; fais l’œuvre d’un évangéliste, remplis ton ministère. Sois sobre.
6 For, I, already, am being poured out as a drink-offering, and, the season of my release, is at hand, —
Car, pour ce qui me regarde, on a déjà fait des libations sur moi, et le temps de ma dissolution approche.
7 The noble contest, have I contested, the race, have I finished, the faith, have I kept:
J’ai combattu le bon combat, j’ai achevé ma course, j’ai gardé la foi.
8 Henceforth, lieth by for me—the crown, of righteousness, which the Lord will render unto me in that, day, —The righteous judge, —Ye, not alone unto me, but unto all them also who have loved his forthshining.
Reste la couronne de justice qui m’est réservée, que le Seigneur, juste juge, me rendra en ce jour; et non-seulement à moi, mais encore à ceux qui aiment son avènement.
9 Give diligence to come unto me speedily,
Hâte-toi de venir près de moi;
10 For, Demas, hath forsaken me, having loved the present age, and hath journeyed unto Thessalonica; Crescens unto Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia: (aiōn g165)
Car Démas m’a quitté, par amour de ce siècle, et il s’en est allé à Thessalonique; Crescent, en Galatie; Tite, en Dalmatie. (aiōn g165)
11 Luke, alone is with me. Receiving, Mark, back, bring him with thyself, for he is very useful to me for ministering;
Luc seul est avec moi. Prends Marc, et amène-le avec toi, car il m’est utile pour le ministère.
12 and, Tychicus, have I sent unto Ephesus.
Pour Tychique, je l’ai envoyé à Ephèse.
13 The cloak that I left in Troas, with Carpus, when thou comest, bring; and the scrolls, especially, the parchments.
Apporte avec toi, en venant, le manteau que j’ai laissé à Troade chez Carpus, et les livres, et surtout les parchemins.
14 Alexander the coppersmith, of much baseness towards me, hath given proof, —the Lord will render unto him according to his works.—
Alexandre, l’ouvrier en airain, m’a fait beaucoup de mal: le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses œuvres.
15 Of whom, be, thou also, on thy guard, for he hath greatly withstood our words.
Evite-le, car il a fortement combattu nos paroles.
16 In my first defence, no man, came in to help me, but, all, forsook me, —unto them, may it not be reckoned!—
Dans ma première défense, personne ne m’a assisté: au contraire, tous m’ont abandonné: qu’il ne leur soit point imputé.
17 But, the Lord, stood by me, and empowered me, in order that, through me, the proclamation, might be fully made, and, all the nations, might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of a lion: —
Mais le Seigneur a été près de moi, et m’a fortifié, afin que par moi s’accomplisse la prédication, et que toutes les nations l’entendent: ainsi j’ai été délivré de la gueule du lion.
18 The Lord will rescue me from every wicked work, and will bring me safe into his heavenly kingdom: unto whom be the glory, unto the ages of ages. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Le Seigneur m’a délivré de toute œuvre mauvaise, et il me sauvera en m’introduisant dans son royaume céleste, lui à qui gloire dans les siècles des siècles. Amen. (aiōn g165)
19 Salute Prisca and Aquila and the house of Onesiphorus.

20 Erastus, remained in Corinth; but, Trophimus, I left at Miletus, sick.
Eraste est demeuré à Corinthe. Quant à Trophime, je l’ai laissé malade à Milet.
21 Give diligence to come, before winter. There salute thee—Eubulus, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and [all] the brethren.
Hâte-toi de venir avant l’hiver. Eubule, Pudens, Lin, Claudie, et tous nos frères te saluent.
22 The Lord, be with thy spirit. Favour, be with you.
Que le Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec ton esprit. Que la grâce soit avec toi. Amen.
