2 Samuel 7
1 And it came to pass, when the king had taken up his abode in his house, —and Yahweh had given him rest round about, from all his enemies,
੧ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੁਫ਼ੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
2 that the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See, I pray thee—I, have my abode in a house, of cedar, but, the ark of God, abideth in, the midst, of curtains.
੨ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਲੱਕੜ ਦੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਤੰਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
3 And Nathan said unto the king, All that is in thy heart, go—do, —for Yahweh is with thee.
੩ਤਦ ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜਾ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਤੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।
4 But so it was, in that night, that the word of Yahweh came unto Nathan, saying:
੪ਉਸੇ ਰਾਤ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ, ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
5 Go and say unto my servant—unto David: Thus, saith Yahweh, —Shalt, thou, build me a house, for me to dwell in;
੫ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਭਵਨ ਬਣਾਏਂਗਾ?
6 seeing that I have not dwelt in a house, since the day that I brought up the sons of Israel out of Egypt, even unto this day, —but have been wandering in a tent as my habitation?
੬ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਤੰਬੂ ਤੋਂ ਤੰਬੂ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
7 Wheresoever I have wandered with any of the sons of Israel, spake I ever, a word, with any one of the tribes of Israel, whom I charged to shepherd my people Israel, saying, —Wherefore have ye not built me a house, of cedar?
੭ਜਿੱਥੇ-ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਭਲਾ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਨਿਆਂਈਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਚਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਦਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਭਵਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ?
8 Now, therefore, thus, shalt thou say unto my servant, unto David: Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, I myself, took thee away from the pasture, from after the flock, —to become leader over my people, over Israel;
੮ਸੋ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਭੇਡਾਂ-ਬੱਕਰੀਆਂ ਚਾਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
9 and was with thee, whithersoever thou didst go, and have cut off all thine enemies, from before thee, —and will make thee a name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth;
੯ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ-ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਨਾਮੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
10 and will appoint a place for my people, for Israel, and will plant them, and they shall inhabit their place, and be unsettled no more, —neither shall the sons of perversity again humiliate them, as at first;
੧੦ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਥਿਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਠੀਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਣ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਨਾ ਭਟਕਣ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕ ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ,
11 even from the day when I put judges in charge over my people Israel, thus will I give thee rest from all thine enemies. And Yahweh must tell thee that, a house, will Yahweh make for thee.
੧੧ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਆਂਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਫਿਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ,
12 And it shall be that, when thy days shall be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, then will I raise up thy seed after thee, which proceedeth from thine own body, —and I will establish his kingdom.
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਓ ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੌਂ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
13 He, shall build a house for my name, —and I will establish his kingly throne unto times age-abiding:
੧੩ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਭਵਨ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਸਥਿਰ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।
14 I, will become his father, And, he, shall become my son: If he commit iniquity, then will I correct him, with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the sons of men;
੧੪ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਜੇ ਕਦੀ ਉਹ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੋਗ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਮ ਦੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਜੋਗ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਾਲ ਤਾੜਨਾ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।
15 But, my lovingkindness, shall not depart from him, —as I caused it to depart from Saul, whom I caused to depart from before thee.
੧੫ਪਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਦਯਾ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
16 So shall thy house and thy kingdom be made steadfast unto times age-abiding, before thee, —thy throne, shall be established unto times age-abiding.
੧੬ਤੇਰਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਜ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so, spake Nathan unto David.
੧੭ਸੋ ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
18 Then entered King David, and tarried before Yahweh, —and said—Who am, I, My Lord, Yahweh, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me, hitherto;
੧੮ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਕੌਣ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਐਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ?
19 and hast yet further made this seem little in thine eyes, My Lord, Yahweh, in that thou hast spoken, even of the house, of thy servant, for a great while to come? This, then is the law of manhood, O My Lord, Yahweh!
੧੯ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੂਰ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਦੱਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਇਹੋ ਨਿਯਮ ਹੈ!
20 What more, then, can David yet further speak unto thee, —seeing that, thou thyself knowest thy servant, O My Lord Yahweh?
੨੦ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੀ ਆਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ!
21 For the sake of thine own word, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this great thing, —making it known unto thy servant.
੨੧ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੇ।
22 For this cause, hast thou magnified thyself, O Yahweh Elohim, —for there is none like unto, thee, yea there is no God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
੨੨ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੁੱਲ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
23 Who, then, is like thy people, like Israel, a nation alone in the earth? whom God went to redeem for himself as a people, so to make himself a name, and to do for you the great deed, fearful things also for thy land, to make way for thy people, whom thou hadst redeemed for thyself, out of Egypt, [dealing with] nations and their god’s;
੨੩ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਕੌਮ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਬਣਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਡਰਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ, ਕੌਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ?
24 and hast established for thyself thy people Israel—for thyself as a people, unto times age-abiding, —thou thyself, also, O Yahweh, becoming their God.
੨੪ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜੋ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਬਣਿਆ।
25 Now, therefore, O Yahweh Elohim, the word which thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, confirm thou, unto times age-abiding, —and do, as thou hast spoken:
੨੫ਹੁਣ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਉਸ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਅਟੱਲ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰ।
26 that thy name may be age-abidingly magnified, saying, Yahweh of hosts, is God over Israel, and so, the house of thy servant David, be established before thee.
੨੬ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਰਹੇ।
27 For, thou, O Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, hast unveiled the ear of thy servant, saying—A house, will I build for thee. For this cause, hath thy servant found in his heart, to pray unto thee, this prayer.
੨੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਹੇ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਨ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਨ੍ਹੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਹੋਈ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੇ।
28 Now, therefore, O My Lord, Yahweh, thou, art God, and, thy words, shall prove true, —therefore hast thou spoken unto thy servant this goodness.
੨੮ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਦਾ ਵਾਇਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
29 Now, therefore, be pleased to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue age-abidingly before thee, —for, thou, O My Lord, Yahweh, hast spoken, therefore, with thine own blessing, shall the house of thy servant be age-abidingly blessed.
੨੯ਸੋ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਅਟੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਅਸੀਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਤੱਕ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੋਵੇ।
