< 2 Samuel 6 >
1 And David, once more, gathered together all the choice young men in Israel, thirty thousand.
Dafidi sì tún kó gbogbo àwọn akọni ọkùnrin ní Israẹli jọ, wọ́n sì jẹ́ ẹgbàá mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dógún.
2 Then David, and all the people that were with him, arose and went beyond Baale Judah, —to bring up from thence, the ark of God, the name whereof is called by the name of Yahweh of hosts, who inhabiteth the cherubim thereupon.
Dafidi sì dìde, ó sì lọ àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn tí ń bẹ́ lọ́dọ̀ rẹ́, láti Baalahi ní Juda wá, láti mú àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run tí ibẹ̀ wá, èyí tí a ń pe orúkọ rẹ̀ ní orúkọ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun tí ó jókòó láàrín àwọn kérúbù.
3 So they carried the ark of God in a new waggon, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeah, —and, Uzza and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were driving the new waggon.
Wọ́n sì gbé àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run náà gun kẹ̀kẹ́ tuntun kan, wọ́n sì mú un láti ilé Abinadabu wá, èyí tí ó wà ní Gibeah: Ussa àti Ahio, àwọn ọmọ Abinadabu sì ń dá kẹ̀kẹ́ tuntun náà.
4 So they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in Gibeah, with the ark of God, —and, Ahio, was going before the ark.
Wọ́n sì mú un láti ilé Abinadabu jáde wá, tí ó wà ní Gibeah, pẹ̀lú àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run, Ahio sì ń rìn níwájú àpótí ẹ̀rí náà.
5 And, David and all the house of Israel, were dancing for joy before Yahweh, with all boldness and with songs, —and with lyres, and with harps, and with timbrels, and with sistrums, and with cymbals.
Dafidi àti gbogbo ilé Israẹli sì ṣiré níwájú Olúwa lára gbogbo onírúurú ohun èlò orin tí a fi igi arère ṣe àti lára ìlù haapu, ní ara tambori, sisitirumu àti lára kimbali.
6 And, when they came as far as the threshing-floor of Nachon, Uzzah thrust forth his hand unto the ark of God, and took hold of it, for the oxen were restive.
Nígbà tí wọ́n dé sí ilẹ̀ ìpakà Nakoni, Ussa sì na ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sí àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run, ó sì dìímú, nítorí tí màlúù kọsẹ̀.
7 Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Uzzah, and God smote him there, for the error, —so that he died there, by the ark of God.
Ìbínú Olúwa sì ru sí Ussa; Ọlọ́run sì pa á níbẹ̀ nítorí ìṣísẹ̀ rẹ̀; níbẹ̀ ni ó sì kù ní ẹ̀bá àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run.
8 And it was a sadness unto David, for that Yahweh had broken in with a breach against Uzzah, —therefore called he that place, Perez-uzzah [as it is called] until this day.
Inú Dafidi sì bàjẹ́ nítorí tí Olúwa gé Ussa kúrò, ó sì pe orúkọ ibẹ̀ ní Peresi-Usa títí ó fi di òní yìí.
9 And David was afraid of Yahweh, on that day, —and said, How can the ark of Yahweh come unto me?
Dafidi sì bẹ̀rù Olúwa ní ọjọ́ náà, ó sì wí pé, “Àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa yóò ti ṣe tọ̀ mí wá?”
10 So David would not remove unto him the ark of Yahweh, unto the city of David, —but David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom, the Gittite.
Dafidi kò sì fẹ́ mú àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa sọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ sí ìlú Dafidi; ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi sì mú un yà sí ilé Obedi-Edomu ará Gitti.
11 And the ark of Yahweh abode in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite, three months, —and Yahweh blessed Obed -edom, and all his household.
Àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa sì gbé ní ilé Obedi-Edomu ará Gitti ní oṣù mẹ́ta; Olúwa sì bùkún fún Obedi-Edomu, àti gbogbo ilé rẹ̀.
12 And it was told King David, saying, Yahweh hath blessed the household of Obed-edom, and all that he hath, because of the ark of God. David therefore went and brought up the ark of God, out of the house of Obed-edom, unto the city of David, with rejoicing.
A sì rò fún Dafidi ọba pé, “Olúwa ti bùkún fún ilé Obedi-Edomu, àti gbogbo èyí tí í ṣe tirẹ̀, nítorí àpótí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run.” Dafidi sì lọ, ó sì mú àpótí ẹ̀rí náà gòkè láti ilé Obedi-Edomu wá sí ìlú Dafidi pẹ̀lú ayọ̀.
13 And so it was that, when they who bare the ark of Yahweh had stepped forward six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a heifer.
Ó sì ṣe nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn tí ó ru àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa bá sì ṣí ẹsẹ̀ mẹ́fà, òun a sì fi màlúù àti ẹran àbọ́pa rú ẹbọ.
14 And, David, was dancing with all boldness before Yahweh, —David, being girt with an ephod of linen.
Dafidi sì fi gbogbo agbára rẹ̀ jó níwájú Olúwa; Dafidi sì wọ efodu ọ̀gbọ̀.
15 So, David and all the house of Israel, were bringing up the ark of Yahweh, —with triumphant shoutings, and with the sound of a horn.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Dafidi àti gbogbo ilé Israẹli sì gbé àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa gòkè wá, pẹ̀lú ìhó ayọ̀, àti pẹ̀lú ìró ìpè.
16 Now it so came about that, when the ark of Yahweh entered the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter, looked out through the window, and saw King David, leaping and dancing before Yahweh, and she despised him, in her heart.
Bí àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa sì ti wọ ìlú Dafidi wá; Mikali ọmọbìnrin Saulu sì wo láti ojú fèrèsé, ó sì rí Dafidi ọba ń fò sókè ó sì ń jó níwájú Olúwa; òun sì kẹ́gàn rẹ̀ ní ọkàn rẹ̀.
17 So they brought in the ark of Yahweh, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent which David had stretched out for it, —and David caused to go up ascending-sacrifices before Yahweh, and peace-offerings.
Wọ́n sì mú àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa náà wá, wọ́n sì gbé e kalẹ̀ sípò rẹ̀ láàrín àgọ́ náà tí Dafidi pa fún un. Dafidi sì rú ẹbọ sísun àti ẹbọ ìrẹ́pọ̀ níwájú Olúwa.
18 And, when David had finished offering up the ascending-sacrifice and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of hosts.
Dafidi sì parí ìṣe ẹbọ sísun àti ẹbọ ìrẹ́pọ̀ náà, ó sì súre fún àwọn ènìyàn náà ní orúkọ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
19 And he apportioned to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and to women—to every one, a loaf of bread, and a sweet drink, and a raisin-cake, —and all the people went their way, every one unto his own house;
Ó sì pín fún gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà, àní fún gbogbo ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn Israẹli, àti ọkùnrin àti obìnrin; fún olúkúlùkù ìṣù àkàrà kan àti ekìrí ẹran kan, àti àkàrà díndín kan. Gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn náà sì túká lọ, olúkúlùkù sí ilé rẹ̀.
20 and David returned, to bless his household. Then came forth Michal Saul’s daughter to meet David, and said—How honoured, to-day, was the king of Israel in disrobing himself to-day, in the sight of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the low people, might disrobe himself?
Dafidi sì yípadà láti súre fún àwọn ará ilé rẹ̀, Mikali ọmọbìnrin Saulu sì jáde láti wá pàdé Dafidi, ó sì wí pé, “Báwo ni ọba Israẹli ṣe ṣe ara rẹ̀ lógo bẹ́ẹ̀ lónìí, tí ó bọ́ ara rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ lónìí lójú àwọn ìránṣẹ́bìnrin àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bi ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ènìyàn lásán tí ń bọ́ra rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.”
21 And David said unto Michal, Before Yahweh, I will dance, —blessed, be Yahweh, who made choice of me above thy father, and above all his house, putting me in charge as leader over the people of Yahweh, over Israel, —therefore will I dance before Yahweh;
Dafidi sì wí fún Mikali pé, “Níwájú Olúwa ni, ẹni tí ó yàn mí fẹ́ ju baba rẹ lọ, àti ju gbogbo ìdílé rẹ lọ, láti fi èmi ṣe olórí àwọn ènìyàn Olúwa, àní lórí Israẹli, èmi ó sì súre níwájú Olúwa.
22 and will make myself, yet more, lightly esteemed that this, and become lowly in mine own eyes, —nevertheless, with the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, with them, shall I be honoured.
Èmi ó sì tún rẹ ara mi sílẹ̀ jú bẹ́ẹ̀ lọ, èmi ó sì ṣe aláìníyìn lójú ara mi, àti lójú àwọn ìránṣẹ́bìnrin náà ti ìwọ wí, lọ́dọ̀ wọn náà ni èmi ó sì ní ògo.”
23 Therefore, Michal Saul’s daughter, had no child, —unto the day of her death.
Mikali ọmọbìnrin Saulu kò sì bí ọmọ, títí o fi di ọjọ́ ikú rẹ̀ nítorí tí ó sọ̀rọ̀-òdì yìí sí Dafidi.
