2 Samuel 6

1 And David, once more, gathered together all the choice young men in Israel, thirty thousand.

Y juntó David a todos los escogidos de Israel que eran treinta mil;

2 Then David, and all the people that were with him, arose and went beyond Baale Judah, —to bring up from thence, the ark of God, the name whereof is called by the name of Yahweh of hosts, who inhabiteth the cherubim thereupon.

Y David, y todas las personas que estaban con él, fueron a Baala de Judá para obtener el cofre del pacto de Dios, sobre la cual se nombra el santo nombre, el nombre del Señor de los ejércitos, él cual mora entre los querubines.

3 So they carried the ark of God in a new waggon, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeah, —and, Uzza and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were driving the new waggon.

Y pusieron el arca de Dios en un carro nuevo y lo sacaron de la casa de Abinadab que estaba en la colina. Y Uza y Ahío, los hijos de Abinadab, eran los conductores del carro.

4 So they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in Gibeah, with the ark of God, —and, Ahio, was going before the ark.

Y Uza fue al lado del arca, mientras que Ahío iba delante de él.

5 And, David and all the house of Israel, were dancing for joy before Yahweh, with all boldness and with songs, —and with lyres, and with harps, and with timbrels, and with sistrums, and with cymbals.

Y David y todos los hombres de Israel hicieron melodía ante el Señor con todo su poder, con cantos y con instrumentos de cuerda de bronce.

6 And, when they came as far as the threshing-floor of Nachon, Uzzah thrust forth his hand unto the ark of God, and took hold of it, for the oxen were restive.

Y cuando llegaron al piso de grano de Nacón, Uza puso su mano en el arca de Dios para mantenerla a salvo en su lugar, porque los bueyes estaban fuera de control.

7 Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Uzzah, and God smote him there, for the error, —so that he died there, by the ark of God.

Y la ira del Señor, que ardía contra Uza, envió destrucción sobre él porque había puesto su mano sobre el cofre del pacto de Dios, y allí llegó la muerte por el cofre del pacto de Dios.

8 And it was a sadness unto David, for that Yahweh had broken in with a breach against Uzzah, —therefore called he that place, Perez-uzzah [as it is called] until this day.

Y se enojó David por el arrebato de ira del Señor contra Uza, y le dio a ese lugar el nombre de Perez-uza, que es su nombre hasta hoy.

9 And David was afraid of Yahweh, on that day, —and said, How can the ark of Yahweh come unto me?

Y tal fue el temor de David al Señor ese día, que dijo: ¿Cómo puedo dejar que el arca de Dios venga a mí?

10 So David would not remove unto him the ark of Yahweh, unto the city of David, —but David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom, the Gittite.

Entonces, David no dejó que el arca del Señor volviera a él a la ciudad de David; sino que la apartaron y la pusieron en la casa de Obed-edom, de Gat.

11 And the ark of Yahweh abode in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite, three months, —and Yahweh blessed Obed -edom, and all his household.

Y el cofre del Pacto del Señor estuvo en la casa de Obed-edom de Gat por tres meses, y el Señor envió una bendición sobre Obed-edom y toda su familia.

12 And it was told King David, saying, Yahweh hath blessed the household of Obed-edom, and all that he hath, because of the ark of God. David therefore went and brought up the ark of God, out of the house of Obed-edom, unto the city of David, with rejoicing.

Y dijeron al rey David: La bendición del Señor está sobre la familia de Obed Edom y sobre todo lo que tiene, por el arca de Dios. Y David fue y tomó el arca de Dios de la casa de Obed-edom al pueblo de David con alegría.

13 And so it was that, when they who bare the ark of Yahweh had stepped forward six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a heifer.

Y cuando los que levantaban el arca del Señor habían dado seis pasos, hizo una ofrenda de un buey y una bestia gorda.

14 And, David, was dancing with all boldness before Yahweh, —David, being girt with an ephod of linen.

Y David, vestido con un efod de lino, bailaba delante del Señor con todas sus fuerzas.

15 So, David and all the house of Israel, were bringing up the ark of Yahweh, —with triumphant shoutings, and with the sound of a horn.

Entonces David y todos los hombres de Israel tomaron el arca del Señor con clamores de alegría y sonando cuernos.

16 Now it so came about that, when the ark of Yahweh entered the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter, looked out through the window, and saw King David, leaping and dancing before Yahweh, and she despised him, in her heart.

Y cuando el cofre del pacto del Señor entró en la ciudad de David, Mical, la hija de Saúl, mirando por la ventana, vio al rey David bailando y saltando ante el Señor; y en su opinión él parecía tonto.

17 So they brought in the ark of Yahweh, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent which David had stretched out for it, —and David caused to go up ascending-sacrifices before Yahweh, and peace-offerings.

Entonces tomaron el cofre del pacto del Señor y la pusieron en su lugar dentro de la tienda campaña que David la había levantado; y David hizo ofrendas quemadas y ofrendas de paz al Señor.

18 And, when David had finished offering up the ascending-sacrifice and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of hosts.

Y después de que David hiciera las ofrendas quemadas y las ofrendas de paz, dio a la gente una bendición en nombre del Señor de los ejércitos.

19 And he apportioned to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and to women—to every one, a loaf of bread, and a sweet drink, and a raisin-cake, —and all the people went their way, every one unto his own house;

Y él dio a cada hombre y mujer entre todas las personas, entre todas las masas de Israel, un pastel de pan y una medida de vino y un pastel de uvas secas. Entonces todo el pueblo se fue, cada hombre a su casa.

20 and David returned, to bless his household. Then came forth Michal Saul’s daughter to meet David, and said—How honoured, to-day, was the king of Israel in disrobing himself to-day, in the sight of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the low people, might disrobe himself?

Entonces David volvió para dar una bendición a su familia. Y Mical, la hija de Saúl, se acercó a él y le dijo: ¡Cuán lleno de gloria estaba hoy el rey de Israel, que se dejó ver descubierto por sus sirvientas como una persona tonta que se descubre a sí misma sin vergüenza!

21 And David said unto Michal, Before Yahweh, I will dance, —blessed, be Yahweh, who made choice of me above thy father, and above all his house, putting me in charge as leader over the people of Yahweh, over Israel, —therefore will I dance before Yahweh;

Y David dijo a Mical: Estaba bailando delante del Señor, que me puso sobre tu padre y sobre todos sus hijos, para hacerme gobernante sobre la gente del Señor, sobre su pueblo Israel.

22 and will make myself, yet more, lightly esteemed that this, and become lowly in mine own eyes, —nevertheless, with the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, with them, shall I be honoured.

Y me haré aún más vil que está vez, y me haré sentir aún más bajo: pero las sirvientas de las que hablabas me honrarán.

23 Therefore, Michal Saul’s daughter, had no child, —unto the day of her death.

Y Mical, la hija de Saúl, no tuvo hijos hasta el día de su muerte.
