2 Kings 19
1 And it came to pass, when King Hezekiah heard, that he rent his clothes, —and covered himself with sackcloth, and entered the house of Yahweh;
जब हिज़क़ियाह बादशाह ने यह सुना, तो अपने कपड़े फाड़े और टाट ओढ़कर ख़ुदावन्द के घर में गया।
2 and sent Eliakim who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, —unto Isaiah the prophet, son of Amoz;
और उसने घर के दीवान और इलियाक़ीम और शबनाह मुन्शी और काहिनों के बुज़ुर्गों को टाट उढ़ाकर आमूस के बेटे यसा'याह नबी के पास भेजा।
3 and they said unto him—Thus, saith Hezekiah, A day of trouble, and rebuke, and reviling, is this day, —for children are come to the birth, and, strength, is there none to bring forth!
और उन्होंने उससे कहा, हिज़क़ियाह यूँ कहता है, कि आज का दिन दुख, और मलामत, और तौहीन का दिन है; क्यूँकि बच्चे पैदा होने पर हैं, लेकिन विलादत की ताक़त नहीं।
4 It may be that Yahweh thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his lord hath sent, to reproach a Living God, and will rebuke the words, which Yahweh thy God hath heard, —Wherefore lift thou up a prayer, for the remnant that remaineth.
शायद ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा रबशाक़ी की सब बातें सुने जिसको उसके आक़ा शाह — ए — असूर ने भेजा है, कि “ज़िन्दा ख़ुदा की तौहीन करे और जो बातें ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा ने सुनी हैं उन पर वह मलामत करेगा। इसलिए तू उस बक़िया के लिए जो मौजूद है दुआ कर।”
5 So the servants of King Hezekiah came unto Isaiah.
इसलिए हिज़क़ियाह बादशाह के मुलाज़िम यसा'याह के पास आए।
6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus, shall ye, say, unto your lord, —Thus, saith Yahweh—Be not thou afraid, because of the words which thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have reviled, me:
यसा'याह ने उनसे कहा, “तुम अपने मालिक से यूँ कहना, 'ख़ुदावन्द यूँ फ़रमाता है कि तू उन बातों से जो तूने सुनी हैं, जिनसे शाह — ए — असूर के मुलाज़िमों ने मेरी बुराई की है, न डर।
7 Behold me! about to let go against him, a blast, and, when he heareth the report, then will he return to his own country, —and I will cause him to fall by the sword, in his own land.
देख, मैं उसमें एक रूह डाल दूँगा, और वह एक अफ़वाह सुनकर अपने मुल्क को लौट जाएगा, और मैं उसे उसी के मुल्क में तलवार से मरवा डालूँगा।”
8 So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah, —for he had heard that he had broken up from Lachish.
इसलिए रबशाक़ी लौट गया और उसने शाह — ए — असूर को लिबनाह से लड़ते पाया, क्यूँकि उसने सुना था कि वह लकीस से चला गया है;
9 And when he heard say of Tirhakah, king of Ethiopia, saying, Lo! he hath come forth to fight with thee, —then he again sent messengers unto Hezekiah, saying—
और जब उसने कूश के बादशाह तिरहाक़ा के ज़रिए' ये कहते सुना कि “देख, वह तुझसे लड़ने को निकला है,” तो उसने फिर हिज़क़ियाह के पास क़ासिद रवाना किए और कहा,
10 Thus, shall ye, speak, unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying—Let not thy God in whom thou art trusting beguile thee, saying, —Jerusalem shall not be given over, into the hand of the king of Assyria.
कि “शाह — ए — यहूदाह हिज़क़ियाह से इस तरह कहना, 'तेरा ख़ुदा, जिस पर तेरा भरोसा है, तुझे यह कहकर धोखा न दे कि येरूशलेम शाह — ए — असूर के क़ब्ज़े में नहीं किया जाएगा।
11 Lo! thou thyself, hast heard, what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands, in devoting them to destruction, —and shalt, thou, be delivered?
देख, तूने सुना है कि असूर के बादशाहों ने तमाम मुमालिक को बिल्कुल ग़ारत करके उनका क्या हाल बनाया है; इसलिए क्या तू बचा रहेगा?
12 Did the gods of the nations, deliver them, whom my fathers destroyed, Gozan, and Haran, —and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who were in Telassar?
क्या उन क़ौमों के मा'बूदों ने उनको, या'नी जौज़ान और हारान और रसफ़ और बनी — 'अदन जो तिल्लसार में थे, जिनको हमारे बाप — दादा ने बर्बाद किया, छुड़ाया?
13 Where are the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, —of Hena, and Ivvah?
हमात का बादशाह और अरफ़ाद का बादशाह, और शहर सिफ़वाइम और हेना' और इवाह का बादशाह कहाँ है?”
14 And, when Hezekiah had received the letter at the hand of the messengers, and had read it, then went he up to the house of Yahweh, and Hezekiah spread it out before Yahweh.
हिज़क़ियाह ने क़ासिदों के हाथ से ख़त लिया और उसे पढ़ा, और हिज़क़ियाह ने ख़ुदावन्द के घर में जाकर उसे ख़ुदावन्द के सामने फैला दिया।
15 And Hezekiah prayed before Yahweh, and said, O Yahweh, God of Israel, inhabiting the cherubim, thou thyself, art GOD, alone, for all the kingdoms of the earth, —thou, didst make the heavens and the earth.
और हिज़क़ियाह ने ख़ुदावन्द के सामने इस तरह दुआ की, ऐ ख़ुदावन्द, इस्राईल के ख़ुदा, करूबियों के ऊपर बैठने वाले! तू ही अकेला ज़मीन की सब सल्तनतों का ख़ुदा है। तू ने ही आसमान और ज़मीन को पैदा किया।
16 Bow down, O Yahweh, thine ear, and hear, Open, O Yahweh, thine eyes, and see, —yea hear thou the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent—To reproach a Living God!
ऐ ख़ुदावन्द, कान लगा और सुन! ऐ ख़ुदावन्द, अपनी आँखें खोल और देख; और सनहेरिब की बातों को, जिनसे ज़िन्दा ख़ुदा की तौहीन करने के लिए उसने इस आदमी को भेजा है, सुन ले।
17 Of a truth, O Yahweh, —the kings of Assyria have devoted to destruction the nations and their lands;
ऐ ख़ुदावन्द, असूर के बादशाहों ने दर हक़ीक़त क़ौमों को उनके मुल्कों समेत तबाह किया:
18 and have put their gods in the fire, —for, no-gods, were, they, but the work of the hands of men—wood and stone, and so they destroyed them.
और उनके मा'बूदों को आग में डाला क्यूँकि वह ख़ुदा न थे, बल्कि आदमियों की दस्तकारी, या'नी लकड़ी और पत्थर थे; इसलिए उन्होंने उनको बर्बाद किया है।
19 Now, therefore, O Yahweh our God, save us we pray thee, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know, that, thou, Yahweh, art God, alone!
इसलिए अब ऐ ख़ुदावन्द हमारे ख़ुदा मैं तेरी मिन्नत करता हूँ, कि तू हमको उसके हाथ से बचा ले, ताकि ज़मीन की सब सल्तनतें जान लें कि तू ही अकेला ख़ुदावन्द ख़ुदा है।”
20 Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, —Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, What thou hast prayed unto me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.
तब यसा'याह — बिन — आमूस ने हिज़क़ियाह को कहला भेजा कि ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल का ख़ुदा यूँ फ़रमाता है: चूँकि तू ने शाह — ए — असूर सनहेरिब के ख़िलाफ़ मुझसे दू'आ की है, मैंने तेरी सुन ली।
21 This, is the word that Yahweh hath spoken concerning him, —The virgin daughter of Zion, laugheth thee to scorn, mocketh thee, The daughter of Jerusalem, after thee, doth wag her head.
इसलिए ख़ुदावन्द ने उसके हक़ में यूँ फ़रमाया कि कुँवारी दुख़्तरें सिय्यून ने तुझे हक़ीर जाना और तेरा मज़ाक़ उड़ाया।
22 Whom, hast thou reproached, and insulted? and, against whom, hast thou lifted high thy voice? yea thou hast proudly raised thine eyes, against the Holy One of Israel.
येरूशलेम की बेटी ने तुझ पर सर हिलाया है, तूने किसकी तौहीन — ओ — बुराई की है? तूने किसके ख़िलाफ़ अपनी आवाज़ बलन्द की, और अपनी आँखें ऊपर उठाई? इस्राईल के क़ुद्दूस के ख़िलाफ़!
23 Through thy messengers, thou hast reproached My Lord, and hast said—With my multitude of chariots, have I ascended the height of the mountains, the recesses of Lebanon, —and have cut down its tallest cedars, its choicest firs, and have entered the shelter of its summit, its thick garden forests.
तूने अपने क़ासिदों के ज़रिए' से ख़ुदावन्द की तौहीन की, और कहा, कि मैं बहुत से रथों को साथ लेकर पहाड़ों की चोटियों पर, बल्कि लुबनान के वस्ती हिस्सों तक चढ़आया हूँ; और मैं उसके ऊँचे — ऊँचे देवदारों और अच्छे से अच्छे सनोबर के दरख़्तों को काट डालूँगा; और मैं उसके दूर से दूर मक़ाम में, जहाँ उसकी बेशक़ीमती ज़मीन का जंगल है घुसा चला जाऊँगा।
24 I, have digged, and have drunk foreign waters, —and have dried up, with the soles of my feet, all the streams of besieged places.
मैंने जगह — जगह का पानी खोद — खोद कर पिया है और मैं अपने पाँव के तलवे से मिस्र की सब नदियाँ सुखा डालूँगा।
25 Hast thou not heard—that, long ago, that, is what I appointed, and, from days of old, devised it? Now, have I brought it to pass, that thou mightest serve to lay waste, in desolate ruins, fortified cities;
क्या तू ने नहीं सुना कि मुझे यह किए हुए मुद्दत हुई और मैने इसे गुज़रे दिनों में ठहरा दिया था? अब मैने उसको पूरा किया है कि तू फ़सीलदार शहरों को उजाड़ कर खंडर बना देने के लिए खड़ा हो।
26 And, their inhabitants, being powerless, were overthrown and put to shame, —they became grass of the field, and young herbage, grass on housetops, and seed withered before it came up.
इसी वजह से उनके बाशिन्दे कमज़ोर हुए और वह घबरा गए, और शर्मिन्दा हुए वह मैदान की घास और हरी पौद और छतों पर की घास, और उस अनाज की तरह हो गए, जो बढ़ने से पहले सूख जाए।
27 Howbeit, thine abode, and thy coming out and thy going in, I know, —and thy raging against me.
“लेकिन मैं तेरी मजलिस और आमद — ओ — रफ़्त और तेरा मुझ पर झुंझलाना मैं जानता हूँ।
28 Because, thy raging against me, and thy contempt, have come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my ring in thy nose, and my bit in thy lips, and will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
तेरे मुझ पर झंझलाने की वजह से, और इसलिए कि तेरा घमण्ड मेरे कानों तक पहुँचा है, मैं अपनी नकेल तेरी नाक में, और अपनी लगाम तेरे मुँह में डालूँगा; और तू जिस रास्ते से आया है, मैं तुझे उसी रास्ते से वापस लौटा दूँगा।
29 And, this unto thee, is the sign—Eating, this year, the growth of scattered seeds, and, in the second year, that which groweth after, —then, in the third year, sow ye and reap, plant ye vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof;
“और तेरे लिए ये निशान होगा कि तुम इस साल वह चीज़ें जो ख़ुद से उगती हैं, और दूसरे साल वह चीज़ें जो उनसे पैदा हों खाओगे; और तीसरे साल तुम बोना और काटना, और बाग़ लगाकर उनका फल खाना।
30 Then shall the escaped of the house of Judah that remain, again—take root downward, and bear fruit upward;
और वह जो यहूदाह के घराने से बचा रहा है फिर नीचे की तरफ़ जड़ पकड़ेगा और ऊपर कि तरफ़ फल लाएगा।
31 For, out of Jerusalem, shall go forth a remnant, and that which hath escaped—out of Mount Zion, —the jealousy of Yahweh of hosts, will perform this.
क्यूँकि एक बक़िया येरूशलेम से, और वह जो बच रहे हैं कोह — ए — सिय्यून से निकलेंगे। ख़ुदावन्द की ग़य्यूरी ये कर दिखाएगी।
32 Therefore—Thus, saith Yahweh, concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not enter this city, nor shoot there, an arrow, —nor attack it with shield, nor cast up against it, a mound;
“इसलिए ख़ुदावन्द शाह — ए — असूर के हक़ में यूँ फ़रमाता है कि वह इस शहर में आने, या यहाँ तीर चलाने न पाएगा; वह न तो सिपर लेकर उसके सामने आने, और न उसके मुक़ाबिल दमदमा बाँधने पाएगा।
33 By the way that he cometh in, by the same, shall he return, —and, into this city, shall he not enter, declareth Yahweh!
बल्कि ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है कि जिस रास्ते से वह आया, उसी रास्ते से लौट जाएगा; और इस शहर में आने न पाएगा।
34 Thus will I throw a covering over this city, to save it, —for mine own sake, and for the sake of David my servant.
क्यूँकि मैं अपनी ख़ातिर और अपने बन्दे दाऊद की ख़ातिर इस शहर की हिमायत करूँगा ताकि इसे बचा लें।”
35 And it came to pass, during that night, that the messenger of Yahweh went forth, and smote, in the camp of the Assyrians, a hundred and eighty-five thousand. And, when men arose early in the morning, lo! they were all, dead bodies!
इसलिए उसी रात को ख़ुदावन्द के फ़रिश्ते ने निकल कर असूर की लश्करगाह में एक लाख पचासी हज़ार आदमी मार डाले, और सुबह को जब लोग सवेरे उठे तो देखा, कि वह सब मरे पड़े हैं।
36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria brake up, and went his way, and returned, —and remained in Nineveh.
तब शाह — ए — असूर सनहेरिब वहाँ से चला गया और लौटकर नीनवा में रहने लगा।
37 And it came to pass, as he was bowing down in the house of Nisroch his god, that, Adrammelech and Sharezer [his sons], smote him with the sword, howbeit, they, escaped into the land of Ararat, —and Esarhaddon his son, reigned, in his stead.
और जब वह अपने मा'बूद निसरूक के बुतख़ाने में इबादत कर रहा था, तो अदरम्मलिक और शराज़र ने उसे तलवार से क़त्ल किया, और अरारात की सरज़मीन को भाग गए। और उसका बेटा असरहद्दून उसकी जगह बादशाह हुआ।
