2 Kings 19
1 And it came to pass, when King Hezekiah heard, that he rent his clothes, —and covered himself with sackcloth, and entered the house of Yahweh;
೧ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
2 and sent Eliakim who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, —unto Isaiah the prophet, son of Amoz;
೨ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅವನು ರಾಜಗೃಹಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಎಲ್ಯಾಕೀಮ್, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯೂ, ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶೆಬ್ನ, ವೃದ್ಧ ಯಾಜಕರು ಇವರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ನೀವು ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಆಮೋಚನ ಮಗನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಯೆಶಾಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ.
3 and they said unto him—Thus, saith Hezekiah, A day of trouble, and rebuke, and reviling, is this day, —for children are come to the birth, and, strength, is there none to bring forth!
೩ಅವರು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಮಹಾಕಷ್ಟವು ಸಂಭವಿಸಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ನಾವು ಅಪಮಾನವನ್ನು, ನಿಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಹೆರಿಗೆಯ ಕಾಲ ಬಂದಿದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಹೆರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲ ಸಾಲದು.
4 It may be that Yahweh thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his lord hath sent, to reproach a Living God, and will rebuke the words, which Yahweh thy God hath heard, —Wherefore lift thou up a prayer, for the remnant that remaineth.
೪ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪನಾದ ದೇವರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಾದ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯ ನಿಂದನೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಕೇಳಿರುವನು. ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಮುಯ್ಯಿತೀರಿಸುವನು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನರಿಗಾಗಿಯಾದರೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
5 So the servants of King Hezekiah came unto Isaiah.
೫ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಸೇವಕರು ಯೆಶಾಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ,
6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus, shall ye, say, unto your lord, —Thus, saith Yahweh—Be not thou afraid, because of the words which thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have reviled, me:
೬ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ರಾಜನಿಗೆ, ‘ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಹೆದರಬೇಡ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು ಆ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನೇ ದೂಷಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
7 Behold me! about to let go against him, a blast, and, when he heareth the report, then will he return to his own country, —and I will cause him to fall by the sword, in his own land.
೭ಆದುದರಿಂದ, ನಾನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಭಯದ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು. ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಸ್ವದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
8 So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah, —for he had heard that he had broken up from Lachish.
೮ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಲಾಕೀಷನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದನೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಕೇಳಿ ಲಿಬ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.
9 And when he heard say of Tirhakah, king of Ethiopia, saying, Lo! he hath come forth to fight with thee, —then he again sent messengers unto Hezekiah, saying—
೯ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಕೂಷಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿರ್ಹಾಕನು ತನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಪುನಃ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ,
10 Thus, shall ye, speak, unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying—Let not thy God in whom thou art trusting beguile thee, saying, —Jerusalem shall not be given over, into the hand of the king of Assyria.
೧೦ಅವರ ಮುಖಾಂತರ, “ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ, ‘ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನೀನು ನಂಬಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸದಿರಲಿ
11 Lo! thou thyself, hast heard, what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands, in devoting them to destruction, —and shalt, thou, be delivered?
೧೧ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸುಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿರುವರೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿರುವೆಯಲ್ಲಾ. ಹೀಗಿದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆಯೋ?
12 Did the gods of the nations, deliver them, whom my fathers destroyed, Gozan, and Haran, —and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who were in Telassar?
೧೨ನನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಗೋಜಾನ್, ಖಾರಾನ್, ರೆಚೆಫ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ತೆಲಸ್ಸಾರ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎದೆನಿನ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಅವರ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿದವೋ?
13 Where are the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, —of Hena, and Ivvah?
೧೩ಹಮಾತ್, ಅರ್ಪಾದ್, ಸೆಫರ್ವಯಿಮ್, ಹೇನ, ಇವ್ವಾ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಅರಸರು ಏನಾದರು? ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದೋ ಎಂದು ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ದೂತರ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ.’”
14 And, when Hezekiah had received the letter at the hand of the messengers, and had read it, then went he up to the house of Yahweh, and Hezekiah spread it out before Yahweh.
೧೪ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಆ ದೂತರು ತಂದ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಓದಿದ ನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮುಂದೆ ತೆರೆದಿಟ್ಟನು.
15 And Hezekiah prayed before Yahweh, and said, O Yahweh, God of Israel, inhabiting the cherubim, thou thyself, art GOD, alone, for all the kingdoms of the earth, —thou, didst make the heavens and the earth.
೧೫ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಕೆರೂಬಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಸೀನನಾಗಿರುವಾತನೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರೇ, ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭೂರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ದೇವರು ನೀನೊಬ್ಬನೇ, ಪರಲೋಕಭೂಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದವನು ನೀನೇ.
16 Bow down, O Yahweh, thine ear, and hear, Open, O Yahweh, thine eyes, and see, —yea hear thou the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent—To reproach a Living God!
೧೬ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳು; ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಕಣ್ಣಿಟ್ಟು ನೋಡು. ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪದೇವರಾದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೋ.
17 Of a truth, O Yahweh, —the kings of Assyria have devoted to destruction the nations and their lands;
೧೭ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸರು ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನೂ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿದರು.
18 and have put their gods in the fire, —for, no-gods, were, they, but the work of the hands of men—wood and stone, and so they destroyed them.
೧೮ಅವರ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದು ನಿಜ. ಅವು ದೇವತೆಗಳಲ್ಲ. ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ಕಲ್ಲು ಮತ್ತು ಮರಗಳ ಬೊಂಬೆಗಳಷ್ಟೇ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವುದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.
19 Now, therefore, O Yahweh our God, save us we pray thee, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know, that, thou, Yahweh, art God, alone!
೧೯ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ದೇವರೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಭೂರಾಜ್ಯಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.
20 Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, —Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, What thou hast prayed unto me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.
೨೦ಆಗ ಆಮೋಚನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೀಗೆ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, ‘ನೀನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಬಿನ್ನಹವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ.’
21 This, is the word that Yahweh hath spoken concerning him, —The virgin daughter of Zion, laugheth thee to scorn, mocketh thee, The daughter of Jerusalem, after thee, doth wag her head.
೨೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು, “ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಚೀಯೋನಿನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ತಲೆಯಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
22 Whom, hast thou reproached, and insulted? and, against whom, hast thou lifted high thy voice? yea thou hast proudly raised thine eyes, against the Holy One of Israel.
೨೨ನೀನು ಯಾರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿ ಯಾರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿದ್ದೀ? ಯಾರ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಬಾಯ್ದೆರೆದು ಹೀಯಾಳಿಸಿದ್ದಿ? ನೀನು ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ನೋಡಿದ್ದು ಯಾರನ್ನು? ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸದಮಲಸ್ವಾಮಿಯನ್ನಲ್ಲವೇ!
23 Through thy messengers, thou hast reproached My Lord, and hast said—With my multitude of chariots, have I ascended the height of the mountains, the recesses of Lebanon, —and have cut down its tallest cedars, its choicest firs, and have entered the shelter of its summit, its thick garden forests.
೨೩ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ದೂತರ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿ, ರಥಸಮೂಹದೊಡನೆ ಪರ್ವತಶಿಖರಗಳನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಲೆಬನೋನಿನ ದುರ್ಗಮಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅದರ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ದೇವದಾರುವೃಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನೂ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ತುರಾಯಿಮರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಡಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಬಹು ದೂರ ನಿವಾಸಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
24 I, have digged, and have drunk foreign waters, —and have dried up, with the soles of my feet, all the streams of besieged places.
೨೪ನಾನು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಗೆದು ನೀರು ತೆಗೆದು ಕುಡಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ! ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಂದ ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬತ್ತಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲವೇ?”
25 Hast thou not heard—that, long ago, that, is what I appointed, and, from days of old, devised it? Now, have I brought it to pass, that thou mightest serve to lay waste, in desolate ruins, fortified cities;
೨೫ಬಹು ಕಾಲದ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಇದನೆಲ್ಲ ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡಿದವನು ನಾನಲ್ಲವೇ? ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಈಗ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಕೋಟೆ, ಕೊತ್ತಲುಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳುದಿಬ್ಬಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವುದು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತೋ?
26 And, their inhabitants, being powerless, were overthrown and put to shame, —they became grass of the field, and young herbage, grass on housetops, and seed withered before it came up.
೨೬ಅವುಗಳ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಬಲವಿಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿ ಹೆದರಿ ಆಶಾಭಂಗಪಟ್ಟು ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡರು; ಅವರು ಹೊಲದ ಗಿಡಕ್ಕೂ ಕಾಯಿ ಪಲ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಹಸಿರು ಹುಲ್ಲಿಗೂ, ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ಹಾಗೂ, ಹೊಲದ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಬೆಳೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋದ ಪೈರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನರಾದರು.
27 Howbeit, thine abode, and thy coming out and thy going in, I know, —and thy raging against me.
೨೭“ನೀನು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು, ಹೋಗುವುದು, ಬರುವುದೂ ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತುಂಟು. ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ರೌದ್ರಾವೇಷವಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು.
28 Because, thy raging against me, and thy contempt, have come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my ring in thy nose, and my bit in thy lips, and will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
೨೮ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಉಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದೂ, ಕೋಪವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿರುವುದೂ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೂಗಿಗೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೂ ಕಡಿವಾಣವನ್ನೂ ಹಾಕಿ, ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವೆನು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
29 And, this unto thee, is the sign—Eating, this year, the growth of scattered seeds, and, in the second year, that which groweth after, —then, in the third year, sow ye and reap, plant ye vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof;
೨೯ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳು ನೆರವೇರುವವು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಈ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಾನೇ ಬೆಳೆದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಮೂರನೆಯ ವರ್ಷ ನೀವು ಹೊಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿತ್ತಿ ಬೆಳೆದದ್ದನ್ನು, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯವಸಾಯ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದೇ ಗುರುತಾಗಿರುವುದು.
30 Then shall the escaped of the house of Judah that remain, again—take root downward, and bear fruit upward;
೩೦ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಉಳಿದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಯಾಗುವರು.
31 For, out of Jerusalem, shall go forth a remnant, and that which hath escaped—out of Mount Zion, —the jealousy of Yahweh of hosts, will perform this.
೩೧ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರು ಹಬ್ಬಿ ಹರಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು, ಚೀಯೋನ್ ಪರ್ವತದಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಹೊಂದುವರು. ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವೇ ಇದನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವುದು.
32 Therefore—Thus, saith Yahweh, concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not enter this city, nor shoot there, an arrow, —nor attack it with shield, nor cast up against it, a mound;
೩೨ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ, “ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳು ಅವನು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸಮೀಪಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಣವನ್ನೆಸೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಗುರಾಣಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿರುವವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅದರ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ದಿಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
33 By the way that he cometh in, by the same, shall he return, —and, into this city, shall he not enter, declareth Yahweh!
೩೩ಅವನು ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುವನು. ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ
34 Thus will I throw a covering over this city, to save it, —for mine own sake, and for the sake of David my servant.
೩೪ನನಗಾಗಿಯೂ, ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
35 And it came to pass, during that night, that the messenger of Yahweh went forth, and smote, in the camp of the Assyrians, a hundred and eighty-five thousand. And, when men arose early in the morning, lo! they were all, dead bodies!
೩೫ಅದೇ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೂತನು ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದು ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯದ ಪಾಳೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಲಕ್ಷದ ಎಂಭತ್ತೈದು ಸಾವಿರ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದನು. ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯರು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಎದ್ದು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಪಾಳೆಯದ ತುಂಬಾ ಹೆಣಗಳು ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದವು.
36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria brake up, and went his way, and returned, —and remained in Nineveh.
೩೬ಆಗ ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ನಿನೆವೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದನು.
37 And it came to pass, as he was bowing down in the house of Nisroch his god, that, Adrammelech and Sharezer [his sons], smote him with the sword, howbeit, they, escaped into the land of Ararat, —and Esarhaddon his son, reigned, in his stead.
೩೭ಅವನು ಒಂದು ದಿನ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ನಿಸ್ರೋಕನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅದ್ರಮ್ಮೆಲೆಕ್, ಸರೆಚೆರ್ ಎಂಬುವವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂದು ಅರರಾಟ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಅವನ ನಂತರ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಸರ್ ಹದ್ದೋನನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
