2 Kings 15

1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

L’anno ventisettesimo di Geroboamo, re d’Israele, cominciò a regnare Azaria, figliuolo di Amatsia, re di Giuda.

2 Sixteen years old, was he when he began to reign, and, fifty-two years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jecholiah, of Jerusalem.

Avea sedici anni quando cominciò a regnare, e regnò cinquantadue anni a Gerusalemme. Sua madre si chiamava Jecolia, ed era di Gerusalemme.

3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that, Amaziah his father, had done.

Egli fece ciò ch’è giusto agli occhi dell’Eterno, interamente come avea fatto Amatsia suo padre.

4 Only, the high places, took they not away, —still were the people sacrificing and burning incense in the high places.

Nondimeno, gli alti luoghi non furon soppressi; il popolo continuava ad offrire sacrifizi e profumi sugli alti luoghi.

5 And Yahweh smote the king, so that he became a leper, until the day of his death, and dwelt in a lazar-house, —and, Jotham, son of the king, was over the house, judging the people of the land.

E l’Eterno colpì il re, che fu lebbroso fino al giorno della sua morte e visse nell’infermeria; e Jotham, figliuolo del re, era a capo della casa reale e rendea giustizia al popolo del paese.

6 Now, the rest of the story of Azariah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

Il rimanente delle azioni di Azaria, e tutto quello che fece, trovasi scritto nel libro delle Cronache dei re di Giuda.

7 And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers, in the city of David, —and, Jotham his son, reigned, in his stead.

Azaria si addormentò coi suoi padri, e coi suoi padri lo seppellirono nella città di Davide; e Jotham, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.

8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Zechariah son of Jeroboam to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] six months.

Il trentottesimo anno di Azaria, re di Giuda, Zaccaria, figliuolo di Geroboamo, cominciò a regnare sopra Israele a Samaria; e regnò sei mesi.

9 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, as did his fathers, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

Egli fece ciò ch’è male agli occhi dell’Eterno, come avean fatto i suoi padri; non si ritrasse dai peccati coi quali Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat, avea fatto peccare Israele.

10 Then conspired against him, Shallum son of Jabesh, and smote him before the people, and slew him, —and reigned in his stead.

E Shallum, figliuolo di Jabesh, congiurò contro di lui; lo colpì in presenza del popolo, l’uccise, e regnò in sua vece.

11 Now, the rest of the story of Zechariah, behold it! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

Il rimanente delle azioni di Zaccaria trovasi scritto nel libro delle Cronache dei re d’Israele.

12 That, was the word of Yahweh, which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons, to four generations, shall sit on the throne of Israel. And it was so!

Così si avverò la parola che l’Eterno avea detta a Jehu: “I tuoi figliuoli sederanno sul trono d’Israele fino alla quarta generazione”. E così avvenne.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh, began to reign, in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah, king of Judah, —for the space of a month in Samaria.

Shallum, figliuolo di Jabesh, cominciò a regnare l’anno trentanovesimo di Uzzia re di Giuda, e regnò un mese a Samaria.

14 Then came up Menahem son of Gadi, from Tirzah, and entered Samaria, and smote Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, —and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

E Menahem, figliuolo di Gadi, salì da Tirtsa e venne a Samaria; colpì in Samaria Shallum, figliuolo di Jabesh, l’uccise, e regnò in luogo suo.

15 Now, the rest of the story of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel!

Il rimanente delle azioni di Shallum, e la congiura ch’egli ordì, sono cose scritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re d’Israele.

16 Then, Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the boundaries thereof, from Tirzah, because they opened not, therefore he smote them, —all the women therein that were with child, he ripped up.

Allora Menahem, partito da Tirtsa, colpì Tifsah, tutto quello che ci si trovava, e il suo territorio; la colpì, perch’essa non gli aveva aperte le sue porte; e tutte le donne che ci si trovavano incinte, le fece sventrare.

17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Menahem son of Gadi to reign over Israel, ten years [reigned he], in Samaria.

L’anno trentanovesimo del regno di Azaria, re di Giuda, Menahem, figliuolo di Gadi, cominciò a regnare sopra Israele; e regnò dieci anni a Samaria.

18 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit, all his days.

Egli fece ciò ch’è male agli occhi dell’Eterno; non si ritrasse dai peccati coi quali Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat, aveva fatto peccare Israele.

19 Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, so Menahem gave unto Pul, a thousand talents of silver, —that his hands might be with him, to confirm the kingdom, in his hand.

Ai suoi tempi Pul, re d’Assiria, fece invasione nel paese; e Menahem diede a Pul mille talenti d’argento affinché gli desse man forte per assicurare nelle sue mani il potere reale.

20 And Menahem exacted the silver of Israel, of all the mighty men of wealth, to give to the king of Assyria, fifty shekels of silver, of each man, —so the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there, in the land.

E Menahem fece pagare quel danaro ad Israele, a tutti quelli ch’erano molto ricchi, per darlo al re d’Assiria; li tassò a ragione di cinquanta sicli d’argento a testa. Così il re d’Assiria se ne tornò via, e non si fermò nel paese.

22 And Menahem slept with his fathers, —and, Pekahiah his son, reigned in his stead.

Menahem s’addormentò coi suoi padri, e Pekachia, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Pekahiah son of Menahem to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] two years.

Il cinquantesimo anno di Azaria, re di Giuda, Pekachia, figliuolo di Menahem, cominciò a regnare sopra Israele a Samaria, e regnò due anni.

24 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

Egli fece ciò ch’è male agli occhi dell’Eterno; non si ritrasse dai peccati coi quali Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat, avea fatto peccare Israele.

25 And there conspired against him—Pekah son of Remaliah, a hero of his, and smote him in Samaria, in the citadel of the house of a king, with Argob and with Arieh, and, with him, fifty men of the sons of the Gileadites, —and he slew him, and reigned in his stead.

E Pekah, figliuolo di Remalia, suo capitano, congiurò contro di lui, e lo colpì a Samaria, e con lui Argob e Arech, nella torre del palazzo reale. Avea seco cinquanta uomini di Galaad; uccise Pekachia, e regnò in luogo suo.

26 Now, the rest of the story of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel!

27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, began Pekah son of Remaliah to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] twenty years.

L’anno cinquantesimosecondo di Azaria, re di Giuda, Pekah, figliuolo di Remalia, cominciò a regnare sopra Israele a Samaria, e regnò venti anni.

28 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

Egli fece ciò ch’è male agli occhi dell’Eterno; non si ritrasse dai peccati coi quali Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat, avea fatto peccare Israele.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, came Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali—and carried them away captive to Assyria.

Al tempo di Pekah, re d’Israele, venne Tiglath-Pileser, re di Assiria, e prese Ijon, Abel-Beth-Maaca, Janoah, Kedesh, Hatsor, Galaad, la Galilea, tutto il paese di Neftali, e ne menò gli abitanti in cattività in Assiria.

30 And Hoshea son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah, son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, —in the twentieth year of Jotham, son of Uzziah.

Hosea, figliuolo di Ela, ordì una congiura contro Pekah, figliuolo di Remalia; lo colpì, l’uccise, e regnò in luogo suo, l’anno ventesimo del regno di Jotham, figliuolo di Uzzia.

31 Now, the rest of the story of Pekah, and all that he did, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel!

32 In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, began Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

L’anno secondo del regno di Pekah, figliuolo di Remalia, re d’Israele, cominciò a regnare Jotham, figliuolo di Uzzia, re di Giuda.

33 Twenty-five years old, was he, when he began to reign, and, sixteen years, reigned he, in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jerusha, daughter of Zadok.

Aveva venticinque anni quando cominciò a regnare, e regnò sedici anni a Gerusalemme. Sua madre si chiamava Jerusha, figliuola di Tsadok.

34 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that Uzziah his father had done.

Egli fece ciò ch’è giusto agli occhi dell’Eterno, interamente come avea fatto Uzzia suo padre.

35 Only, the high places, took they not away, still were the people offering sacrifice and burning incense in the high places, —he, built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh.

Nondimeno, gli alti luoghi non furono soppressi; il popolo continuava ad offrir sacrifizi e profumi sugli alti luoghi. Jotham costruì la porta superiore della casa dell’Eterno.

36 Now, the rest of the story of Jotham, what he did, is, it, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

37 In those days, began Yahweh to send against Judah, Rezin, king of Syria, —and Pekah son of Remaliah.

In quel tempo l’Eterno cominciò a mandare contro Giuda Retsin, re di Siria, e Pekah, figliuolo di Remalia.

38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the city of David his father, —and, Ahaz his son, reigned, in his stead.

Jotham s’addormentò coi suoi padri, e coi suoi padri fu sepolto nella città di Davide, suo padre. Ed Achaz, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.
