2 Kings 15

1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

Im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahre Jerobeams, des Königs von Israel, ward Asarja König, der Sohn Amazjas, des Königs von Juda.

2 Sixteen years old, was he when he began to reign, and, fifty-two years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jecholiah, of Jerusalem.

Sechzehn Jahre war er alt, als er König ward, und zweiundfünzig Jahre regierte er zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter aber Hieß Jecholja und stammte aus Jerusalem.

3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that, Amaziah his father, had done.

Und er that, was Jahwe wohlgefiel, ganz wie sein Vater Amazja gethan hatte.

4 Only, the high places, took they not away, —still were the people sacrificing and burning incense in the high places.

Nur wurden die Höhen nicht abgeschafft; das Volk opferte und räucherte noch immer auf den Höhen.

5 And Yahweh smote the king, so that he became a leper, until the day of his death, and dwelt in a lazar-house, —and, Jotham, son of the king, was over the house, judging the people of the land.

Und Jahwe verhängte eine Plage über den König, daß er aussätzig ward bis zum Tage seines Todes. Und er wohnte in einem besonderen Hause; Jotham aber, der Sohn des Königs, stand dem Palaste vor und sprach dem Volke des Landes Recht.

6 Now, the rest of the story of Azariah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

Was aber sonst noch von Asarja zu sagen ist und alles, was er ausgeführt hat, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Juda.

7 And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers, in the city of David, —and, Jotham his son, reigned, in his stead.

Und Asarja legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids. Und sein Sohn Jotham ward König an seiner Statt.

8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Zechariah son of Jeroboam to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] six months.

Im achtundreißigsten Jahre Asarjas, des Königs von Juda, ward Sacharja, der Sohn Jerobeams, König über Israel zu Samaria und regierte sechs Monate.

9 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, as did his fathers, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

Und er that, was Jahwe mißfiel, wie seine Väter gethan hatten. Er ließ nicht ab, von den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, zu denen er Israel verführt hatte.

10 Then conspired against him, Shallum son of Jabesh, and smote him before the people, and slew him, —and reigned in his stead.

Und Sallum, der Sohn Jabes', zettelte eine Verschwörung wider ihn an und ermordete ihn zu Jibleam und ward König an seiner Statt.

11 Now, the rest of the story of Zechariah, behold it! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

Was aber sonst noch von Sacharja zu sagen ist, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Israel.

12 That, was the word of Yahweh, which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons, to four generations, shall sit on the throne of Israel. And it was so!

So erfüllte sich das Wort Jahwes, das er zu Jehu geredet hatte, als er sprach: Es sollen Nachkommen von dir bis ins vierte Glied auf dem Thron Israels sitzen. Und so ist es geschehen.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh, began to reign, in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah, king of Judah, —for the space of a month in Samaria.

Sallum, der Sohn Jabes', ward König im neununddreißigsten Jahre Usias, des Königs von Juda, und regierte einen Monat lang zu Samaria.

14 Then came up Menahem son of Gadi, from Tirzah, and entered Samaria, and smote Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, —and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Da zog Menahem, der Sohn Gadis', von Thirza heran, und als er nach Samaria gelangt war, ermordete er Sallum, den Sohn Jabes', zu Samaria und ward König an seiner Statt.

15 Now, the rest of the story of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel!

Was aber sonst noch von Sallum zu sagen ist und die Verschwörung, die er anzettelte, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Israel.

16 Then, Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the boundaries thereof, from Tirzah, because they opened not, therefore he smote them, —all the women therein that were with child, he ripped up.

Damals verheerte Menahem die Stadt Thappuah und alles, was darin war, und ihr ganzes Gebiet von Thirza aus, weil man ihm die Thore nicht geöffnet hatte, und alle Schwangeren darin ließ er aufschlitzen.

17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Menahem son of Gadi to reign over Israel, ten years [reigned he], in Samaria.

Im neununddreißigsten Jahre Asarjas, des Königs von Juda, ward Menahem, der Sohn Gadis', König über Israel und regierte zehn Jahre zu Samaria.

18 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit, all his days.

Und er that was Jahwe mißfiel; er ließ nicht ab von allen Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, zu denen er Israel verführt hatte.

19 Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, so Menahem gave unto Pul, a thousand talents of silver, —that his hands might be with him, to confirm the kingdom, in his hand.

Zu seiner Zeit überfiel Phul, der König von Assyrien, das Land, und Menahem gab dem Phul tausend Talente Silbers, daß er es mit ihm hielte und so die Herrschaft in seiner Hand befestigte.

20 And Menahem exacted the silver of Israel, of all the mighty men of wealth, to give to the king of Assyria, fifty shekels of silver, of each man, —so the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there, in the land.

Und Menahem erhob das Geld von Israel, von allen wehrpflichtigen Männern, um es dem Könige von Assyrien zu geben; fünfzig Sekel Silbers kamen auf einen jeden. Da zog der König von Assyrien wieder ab und verweilte nicht länger da im Lande.

21 Now, the rest of the story of Menahem, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

22 And Menahem slept with his fathers, —and, Pekahiah his son, reigned in his stead.

Und Menahem legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und sein Sohn Pekahjah ward König an seiner Statt.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, began Pekahiah son of Menahem to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] two years.

Im fünfzigsten Jahre Asarjas, des Kömigs von Juda, ward Pekahjah, der Sohn Menahems, König über Israel und regierte zu Samaria zwei Jahre.

24 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

Und er that, was Jahwe mißfiel; er ließ nicht von den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, zu denen er Israel verführt hatte.

25 And there conspired against him—Pekah son of Remaliah, a hero of his, and smote him in Samaria, in the citadel of the house of a king, with Argob and with Arieh, and, with him, fifty men of the sons of the Gileadites, —and he slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Und Pekah, der Sohn Remaljas, sein Ritter, zettelte eine Verschwörung wider ihn an und ermordete ihn zu Samaria in der Burg des königlichen Palastes mit Argob und Arje; dabei halfen ihm fünzig Mann von den Gileaditern. Also tötete er ihn und ward König an seiner Statt.

26 Now, the rest of the story of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel!

Was aber sonst noch von Pekahjah zu sagen ist und alles, was er ausgeführt hat, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Israel.

27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, began Pekah son of Remaliah to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] twenty years.

Im zweiundfünfzigsten Jahre Assarjas, des Königs von Juda, ward Pekah, der Sohn Remaljas, König über Israel zu Samaria und regierte zwanzig Jahre.

28 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.

Und er that, was Jahwe mißfiel; er ließ nicht von den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, zu denen er Israel verführt hatte.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, came Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali—and carried them away captive to Assyria.

Zur Zeit Pekahs, des Königs von Israel, erschien Thiglath-Pileser, der König von Assyrien, eroberte Ijon, Abel-Beth-Maacha, Janoah, Kedes und Hazor, Gilead und Galiläa, das ganze Land Naphtali, und führte die Bewohner gefangen nach Assyrien.

30 And Hoshea son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah, son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, —in the twentieth year of Jotham, son of Uzziah.

Und Hosea, der Sohn Elas, zettelte eine Verschwörung wider Pekah, den Sohn Remaljas, an, ermordete ihn und ward König an seiner Statt im zwanzigsten Jahre Jothams, des Sohnes Usias.

31 Now, the rest of the story of Pekah, and all that he did, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel!

Was aber sonst noch von Pekah zu sagen ist, und alles was er ausgeführt hat, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Israel.

32 In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, began Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

Im zweiten Jahre Pekahs, des Sohnes Remaljas, ward Jotham König, der Sohn Usias, des Königs von Juda.

33 Twenty-five years old, was he, when he began to reign, and, sixteen years, reigned he, in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jerusha, daughter of Zadok.

Fünfundzwanzig Jahre war er alt, als er König ward, und sechzehn Jahre regierte er zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter aber hieß Jerusa, die Tochter Zadoks.

34 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that Uzziah his father had done.

Und er that, was Jahwe wohlgefiel, ganz wie sein Vater Usia gethan hatte.

35 Only, the high places, took they not away, still were the people offering sacrifice and burning incense in the high places, —he, built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh.

Nur wurden die Höhen nicht abgeschafft; das Volk opferte und räucherte noch immer auf den Höhen. Derselbe baute das obere Thor am Tempel Jahwes.

36 Now, the rest of the story of Jotham, what he did, is, it, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

Was aber sonst noch von Jotham zu sagen ist und alles, was er ausgeführt hat, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Juda.

37 In those days, began Yahweh to send against Judah, Rezin, king of Syria, —and Pekah son of Remaliah.

Zu jener Zeit begann Jahwe Rezin, den König von Aram, und Pekah, den Sohn Remaljas, gegen Juda loszulassen.

38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the city of David his father, —and, Ahaz his son, reigned, in his stead.

Jotham aber legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids begraben, und sein Sohn Ahas ward König an seiner Statt.
