2 Kings 14
1 In the second year of Joash son of Joahaz king of Israel, began Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah to reign.
No segundo ano de Joás, filho de Joaaz, rei de Israel, o Amazonas, filho de Joás, rei de Judá, começou a reinar.
2 Twenty-five years old, was he when he began to reign, and twenty-nine years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, his mother’s name, was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
Ele tinha vinte e cinco anos quando começou a reinar; e reinou vinte e nove anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Jehoaddin de Jerusalém.
3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, only, not like David his father: according to all that Joash his father did, so he did;
Ele fez o que era certo aos olhos de Iavé, mas não como Davi, seu pai. Ele fez de acordo com tudo o que Joás, seu pai, havia feito.
4 only, the high places, took they not away, —still were the people sacrificing and burning incense in the high places.
No entanto, os lugares altos não foram tirados. O povo ainda sacrificou e queimou incenso nos lugares altos.
5 And it came to pass that, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, he smote his servants who smote the king his father;
Assim que o reino foi estabelecido em suas mãos, ele matou seus servos que haviam matado o rei seu pai,
6 but, the sons of them that smote him, slew he not, —as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, which Yahweh commanded, saying—Fathers, shall not be put to death, for sons, nor shall, sons, be put to death, for fathers, but every man, for his own sin, shall be put to death.
mas os filhos dos assassinos que ele não matou, de acordo com o que está escrito no livro da lei de Moisés, como mandou Javé, dizendo: “Os pais não serão mortos pelos filhos, nem os filhos serão mortos pelos pais; mas cada homem morrerá por seu próprio pecado”.
7 He, smote Edom, in the valley of salt, ten thousand, and seized Sela, in the war, —and called the name thereof Joktheel, [as it is] until this day.
Ele matou dez mil Edomitas no Vale do Sal, e tomou Sela pela guerra, e chamou seu nome de Joktheel, até hoje.
8 Then, sent Amaziah messengers unto Jehoash son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, —Come now, let us look one another in the face.
Então Amaziah enviou mensageiros a Jehoash, o filho de Jehoahaz, filho de Jeú, rei de Israel, dizendo: “Venham, vamos nos olhar na cara”.
9 And Jehoash king of Israel sent unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, A thistle that was in Lebanon, sent unto a cedar that was in Lebanon, saying—Give thy daughter to my son to wife, —and there passed by a beast of the field that was in Lebanon, and trampled down the thistle:
Jehoash o rei de Israel enviou ao Amazonas, rei de Judá, dizendo: “O cardo que estava no Líbano enviou ao cedro que estava no Líbano, dizendo: 'Dê sua filha a meu filho como esposa'. Então passou um animal selvagem que estava no Líbano, e pisoteou o cardo.
10 Thou hast, smitten, Edom, and, thy heart, would lift thee up, —Glory, and stay at home! Wherefore, then, shouldest thou contend with misfortune, and fall, thou, and Judah with thee?
Você realmente atingiu Edom, e seu coração o levantou. Desfrute a glória disso, e fique em casa; pois por que você deveria se intrometer em seu mal, para que você caia, até mesmo você, e Judá com você”?
11 But Amaziah hearkened not. So then Jehoash king of Israel came up, and they looked one another in the face, he and Amaziah king of Judah, —in Beth-shemesh, which belongeth unto Judah.
Mas o Amaziah não quis ouvir. Então Jeoás, rei de Israel, subiu; e ele e o Amazias, rei de Judá, olharam um para o outro no rosto de Beth Shemesh, que pertence a Judá.
12 Then was Judah defeated before Israel, —and they fled, every man to his own home;
Judá foi derrotado por Israel; e cada homem fugiu para sua tenda.
13 and, upon Amaziah, king of Judah, son of Jehoash son of Ahaziah, did Jehoash king of Israel, seize, in Beth-shemesh, —and entered Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, at the gate of Ephraim, as far as the corner gate, four hundred cubits;
Jeoás, rei de Israel, levou o Amazias, rei de Judá, filho de Jeoás, filho de Acazias, a Bete-Semes e veio a Jerusalém, depois derrubou o muro de Jerusalém desde a porta de Efraim até a porta da esquina, quatrocentos côvados.
14 and took all the gold and the silver and all the vessels that were found in the house of Yahweh, and in the treasuries of the house of the king, and hostages, —and returned to Samaria.
Ele levou todo o ouro e prata e todos os vasos que foram encontrados na casa de Iavé e nos tesouros da casa do rei, os reféns também, e voltou para Samaria.
15 Now, the rest of the story of Jehoash, what he did, and his might and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

16 And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, with the kings of Israel, —and, Jeroboam his son, reigned, in his stead.
Jeoás dormiu com seus pais, e foi enterrado em Samaria com os reis de Israel; e Jeroboão seu filho reinou em seu lugar.
17 And Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah, lived, after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, fifteen years.
Amaziah, filho de Joás, rei de Judá, viveu após a morte de Jeoás, filho de Jeoacaz, rei de Israel, quinze anos.
18 Now, the rest of the story of Amaziah, is, it, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

19 And, when they made against him a conspiracy in Jerusalem, he fled to Lachish, —but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him, there.
Eles fizeram uma conspiração contra ele em Jerusalém, e ele fugiu para Laquis; mas mandaram atrás dele para Laquis e o mataram lá.
20 And they bare him on horses, —and he was buried in Jerusalem, with his fathers, in the city of David.

21 And all the people of Judah took Azariah, he, being sixteen yearn old, —and made, him, king instead of his father Amaziah.

22 He, built Elath, and restored it to Judah, —after the king slept with his fathers.

23 In the fifteenth year of Amaziah, son of Joash, king of Judah, began Jeroboam, son of Joash, king of Israel, to reign in Samaria, [and he reigned] forty-one years.
No décimo quinto ano do Amazonas, filho de Joás, rei de Judá, Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel, começou a reinar em Samaria por quarenta e um anos.
24 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from any of the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.
Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos de Iavé. Ele não se afastou de todos os pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, com os quais ele fez Israel pecar.
25 He, restored the boundary of Israel, from the entering in of Hamath, unto the sea of the waste plain, —according to the word of Yahweh, God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of his servant Jonah, son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath-hepher.
Ele restaurou a fronteira de Israel desde a entrada de Hamath até o mar de Arabah, segundo Javé, a palavra do Deus de Israel, que ele falou por seu servo Jonas, filho de Amitai, o profeta, que era de Gate Hepher.
26 For Yahweh saw the humiliation of Israel, that it was bitter, indeed, —and that there was no one shut up, nor any one left at large, no one indeed to help Israel.
Para Javé viu a aflição de Israel, que era muito amarga para todos, escrava e livre; e não havia nenhum ajudante para Israel.
27 Neither had Yahweh spoken, to wipe out the name of Israel from under the heavens, —so he saved them, by the hand of Jeroboam son of Joash.
Javé não disse que apagaria o nome de Israel de debaixo do céu; mas ele os salvou pela mão de Jeroboão, o filho de Joás.
28 Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might when he warred, and how he restored Damascus and Hamath to Judah in Israel, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Agora o resto dos atos de Jeroboão, e tudo o que ele fez, e seu poder, como ele lutou, e como ele recuperou Damasco, e Hamath, que tinha pertencido a Judá, para Israel, não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel?
29 And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, with the kings of Israel, —and, Zechariah his son, reigned, in his stead.
Jeroboão dormiu com seus pais, mesmo com os reis de Israel; e Zacarias, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
