< 2 Kings 14 >
1 In the second year of Joash son of Joahaz king of Israel, began Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah to reign.
E higa mar ariyo mar loch Jehoash wuod Jehoahaz ruodh Israel, Amazia wuod Joash ruodh Juda nobedo ruoth.
2 Twenty-five years old, was he when he began to reign, and twenty-nine years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, his mother’s name, was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
Ne en ja-higni piero ariyo gabich kane obedo ruoth kendo norito Jerusalem kuom higni piero ariyo gochiko. Min mare ne nyinge Jehoadin, nyar Jerusalem.
3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, only, not like David his father: according to all that Joash his father did, so he did;
Notimo gima kare e nyim Jehova Nyasaye, to ok kaka Daudi kwar mare notimo. Noluwo tim wuon mare Joash e gik moko duto.
4 only, the high places, took they not away, —still were the people sacrificing and burning incense in the high places.
Kata kamano kuonde motingʼore gi malo mag wangʼo misengini ne ok omuki, kendo ji nodhi nyime mana gi chiwo misengini kod wangʼo ubani mangʼwe ngʼar kanyo.
5 And it came to pass that, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, he smote his servants who smote the king his father;
Bangʼ ka pinyruodhe nosegurore maber, nonego jotelo mane onego wuon mare mane ruoth.
6 but, the sons of them that smote him, slew he not, —as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, which Yahweh commanded, saying—Fathers, shall not be put to death, for sons, nor shall, sons, be put to death, for fathers, but every man, for his own sin, shall be put to death.
Kata kamano ne ok onego yawuot jonekgo koluwo gima ondikie Kitap Chik mar Musa mane Jehova Nyasaye oketo mawacho niya, “Wuone ok nonegi nikech ketho mag nyithindgi, bende nyithindo kik negi nikech ketho mag wuonegi; to ngʼato ka ngʼato nonegi nikech richone owuon.”
7 He, smote Edom, in the valley of salt, ten thousand, and seized Sela, in the war, —and called the name thereof Joktheel, [as it is] until this day.
Amazia ema ne oloyo jolweny jo-Edom alufu apar e holo mar Chumbi kendo nomako Sela e lweny, moloko nyinge ni Jokthel, kendo pod iluonge kamano nyaka chil kawuono.
8 Then, sent Amaziah messengers unto Jehoash son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, —Come now, let us look one another in the face.
Bangʼ mano Amazia nooro joote ir Jehoash wuod Jehoahaz, ma wuod Jehu ruodh Israel, kosieme niya, “Bi warom wangʼ gi wangʼ.”
9 And Jehoash king of Israel sent unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, A thistle that was in Lebanon, sent unto a cedar that was in Lebanon, saying—Give thy daughter to my son to wife, —and there passed by a beast of the field that was in Lebanon, and trampled down the thistle:
To Jehoash ruodh Israel nodwoko Amazia ruodh Juda gi ngero niya, “Kuth alii man Lebanon nooro wach ne yiend sida man Lebanon ni, ‘Yie ichiw nyari ne wuoda mondo okendi.’ To le moro mar bungu mowuok Lebanon nokadho kanyo monyono kuth aliino gi tiende.
10 Thou hast, smitten, Edom, and, thy heart, would lift thee up, —Glory, and stay at home! Wherefore, then, shouldest thou contend with misfortune, and fall, thou, and Judah with thee?
En adier ni iseloyo jo-Edom kendo koro iwuoyo marach. Bed mamor kuom lochnino, to kik iwuogi e dala! Angʼo momiyo imanyo lweny mabiro tieki kaachiel gi jo-Juda duto?”
11 But Amaziah hearkened not. So then Jehoash king of Israel came up, and they looked one another in the face, he and Amaziah king of Judah, —in Beth-shemesh, which belongeth unto Judah.
Kata kamano Amazia ne ok odewo, omiyo Jehoash ruodh Israel nomonje. Jehoash kod Amazia ruodh Juda ne joromo e lweny e dala mar Beth Shemesh man Juda.
12 Then was Judah defeated before Israel, —and they fled, every man to his own home;
Jo-Israel noloyo jo-Juda kendo ngʼato ka ngʼato noringo kochomo dalane.
13 and, upon Amaziah, king of Judah, son of Jehoash son of Ahaziah, did Jehoash king of Israel, seize, in Beth-shemesh, —and entered Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, at the gate of Ephraim, as far as the corner gate, four hundred cubits;
Jehoash ruodh Israel nomako Amazia ruodh Juda, ma wuod Joash, ma wuod Ahazia e Beth Shemesh. Bangʼe Jehoash nodhi Jerusalem kendo nomuko ohinga mar Jerusalem chakre e dhoranga Efraim nyaka kama ohinga ogomogo; bor kama ne omuko ne romo fut mia abich gi piero ochiko gachiel.
14 and took all the gold and the silver and all the vessels that were found in the house of Yahweh, and in the treasuries of the house of the king, and hostages, —and returned to Samaria.
Nokawo dhahabu gi fedha duto kod gik moko duto mane oyudo e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye kod mwandu duto mane ni e od ruoth, bende nokawo. Ji moko mano mako e lweny, bangʼe nodok e piny Samaria.
15 Now, the rest of the story of Jehoash, what he did, and his might and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
To kuom gik mamoko duto mane otimore e ndalo loch Jehoash, gi gik moko duto mane otimo kod teko mane okedogi Amazia ruodh Juda, donge ondikgi e kitepe mag weche ruodhi mag Israel?
16 And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, with the kings of Israel, —and, Jeroboam his son, reigned, in his stead.
Jehoash notho moyweyo gi kwerene kendo noyike Samaria gi ruodhi Israel kendo Jeroboam wuode nobedo ruoth kare.
17 And Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah, lived, after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, fifteen years.
Amazia wuod Joash ruodh Juda nodak higni apar gabich bangʼ tho Jehoash wuod Jehoahaz ruodh Israel.
18 Now, the rest of the story of Amaziah, is, it, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
To weche mamoko mag loch Amazia, donge ondikgi e kitap weche ruodhi mag Juda?
19 And, when they made against him a conspiracy in Jerusalem, he fled to Lachish, —but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him, there.
Negichikone obadho e Jerusalem mi oringo odhi Lakish, to negioro ji bangʼe Lakish ma onege kuno.
20 And they bare him on horses, —and he was buried in Jerusalem, with his fathers, in the city of David.
Noduog ringre kotingʼ gi faras kendo noyike Jerusalem but kwerene e Dala Maduongʼ mar Daudi.
21 And all the people of Judah took Azariah, he, being sixteen yearn old, —and made, him, king instead of his father Amaziah.
Eka jo-Juda duto nokawo Azaria mane hike apar gi auchiel mokete ruoth kar wuon mare Amazia.
22 He, built Elath, and restored it to Judah, —after the king slept with his fathers.
En ema ne ogero kuonde mane omukore mag Elath, mi odwoke ne Juda bangʼ ka ruoth Amazia nosetho moike gi kwerene.
23 In the fifteenth year of Amaziah, son of Joash, king of Judah, began Jeroboam, son of Joash, king of Israel, to reign in Samaria, [and he reigned] forty-one years.
E higa mar apar gabich mar Amazia wuod Joash ruodh Juda, Jeroboam wuod Jehoash ruodh Israel nobedo ruodh Samaria kendo nobedo ruoth kuom higni piero angʼwen gachiel.
24 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from any of the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit.
Timbene ne richo e nyim Jehova Nyasaye kendo ne ok olokore weyo yore mag richo mar Jeroboam wuod Nebat, mane omiyo jo-Israel otimo.
25 He, restored the boundary of Israel, from the entering in of Hamath, unto the sea of the waste plain, —according to the word of Yahweh, God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of his servant Jonah, son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath-hepher.
En ema ne odwoko tongʼ mag Israel chakre Lebo Hamath nyaka chop Nam mar Araba, kaluwore gi wach Jehova Nyasaye, ma Nyasach Israel, mane owacho koa e dho jatichne Jona wuod Amitai, mane janabi moa Gath Hefer.
26 For Yahweh saw the humiliation of Israel, that it was bitter, indeed, —and that there was no one shut up, nor any one left at large, no one indeed to help Israel.
Jehova Nyasaye noneno kaka joma ni Israel ne sandore malit, bedni ne gin wasumbini kata ok gin wasumbini; maonge ngʼama ne nyalo resogi.
27 Neither had Yahweh spoken, to wipe out the name of Israel from under the heavens, —so he saved them, by the hand of Jeroboam son of Joash.
To nikech Jehova Nyasaye ne pok owacho ni obiro golo nying jo-Israel e piny, nomiyo Jeroboam wuod Jehoash oresogi.
28 Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might when he warred, and how he restored Damascus and Hamath to Judah in Israel, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
To kuom gik mamoko duto mane otimore e ndalo loch Jeroboam kod lochne e lwenje duto, kaachiel gi kaka noduogo Damaski kod Hamath mane ni e lwet Juda ne Israel; donge ondikgi e kitepe mag weche ruodhi mag Israel.
29 And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, with the kings of Israel, —and, Zechariah his son, reigned, in his stead.
Jeroboam notho moyweyo gi kwerene, mane ruodhi mag Israel kendo Zekaria wuode nobedo ruoth kare.
