< 2 Kings 13 >

1 In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, began Jehoahaz, son of Jehu, to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] seventeen years.
Ní ọdún kẹtàlélógún ti Joaṣi ọmọ ọba Ahasiah ti Juda, Jehoahasi ọmọ Jehu di ọba Israẹli ní Samaria. Ó sì jẹ ọba fún ọdún mẹ́tàdínlógún.
2 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and went after the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat which he caused, Israel, to commit, he departed not therefrom.
Ó ṣe búburú níwájú Olúwa nípa títẹ̀lé ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati, èyí tí ó ti fa Israẹli láti dá, kò sì yípadà kúrò nínú wọn.
3 Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh against Israel—and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-hadad son of Hazael, continually.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ìbínú Olúwa ru sí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, àti fún ìgbà pípẹ́, ó fi wọ́n pamọ́ sí abẹ́ agbára ọba Hasaeli ọba Siria àti Beni-Hadadi ọmọ rẹ̀.
4 And Jehoahaz appeased the face of Yahweh, —and Yahweh hearkened unto him, because he had seen the oppression of Israel, for that, the king of Syria, oppressed them.
Nígbà náà Jehoahasi kígbe ó wá ojúrere Olúwa, Olúwa sì tẹ́tí sí i. Nítorí ó rí bí ọba Siria ti ń ni Israẹli lára gidigidi.
5 So Yahweh gave unto Israel a saviour, and they went forth from under the hand of Syria, —and the sons of Israel dwelt in their own homes, as aforetime.
Olúwa pèsè olùgbàlà fún Israẹli, wọ́n sì sá kúrò lọ́wọ́ agbára Siria. Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn ọmọ Israẹli gbé nínú ilé ara wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ti wà tẹ́lẹ̀.
6 Howbeit they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam which he caused, Israel, to commit, therein, they walked, —moreover also, the Sacred Stem, still stood in Samaria.
Ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò yípadà kúrò nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ilé Jeroboamu, èyí tí ó ti fa Israẹli láti dá, wọ́n tẹ̀síwájú nínú rẹ̀, ère òrìṣà Aṣerah sì wà síbẹ̀ ní Samaria pẹ̀lú.
7 For he had not left remaining unto Jehoahaz a people, save only fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, —for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like dust in threshing.
Kò sí ohùn kan tí wọ́n fi sílẹ̀ ní ti ọmọ-ogun Jehoahasi àyàfi àádọ́ta ọkùnrin ẹlẹ́ṣin, kẹ̀kẹ́ mẹ́wàá, àti ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá ọmọ-ogun ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀, nítorí ọba Siria ti pa ìyókù run, ó sì ṣe wọ́n bí eruku nígbà pípa ọkà.
8 Now, the rest of the story of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Fún ti ìyókù ìṣe Jehoahasi fún ìgbà, tí ó fi jẹ ọba, gbogbo ohun tí ó ṣe àti àṣeyọrí rẹ̀ ṣé a kò kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ìtàn ayé àwọn ọba Israẹli?
9 So then Jehoahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria, —and, Joash his son, reigned, in his stead.
Jehoahasi pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀. A sì sin ín sí Samaria. Jehoaṣi ọmọ rẹ̀ sì rọ́pò rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọba.
10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, began Jehoash son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] sixteen years.
Ní ọdún kẹtàdínlógójì tí Joaṣi ọba Juda, Jehoaṣi ọmọ Jehoahasi di ọba Israẹli ní Samaria ó sì jẹ ọba fún ọdún mẹ́rìndínlógún.
11 And he did that which was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from all the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit, therein, he walked.
Ó ṣe búburú ní ojú Olúwa, kò sì yípadà kúrò nínú ọ̀kankan nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati èyí tí ó ti ti Israẹli láti fà. Ó sì tẹ̀síwájú nínú wọn.
12 Now, the rest of the story of Joash, and all that he did, and his might, wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Fún ti ìyókù iṣẹ́ Jehoaṣi fún ìgbà tí ó fi jẹ ọba, gbogbo ohun tí ó ṣe, pẹ̀lú àṣeyọrí rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ogun rẹ̀ sí Amasiah ọba Juda, ṣé a kò kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ìtàn ayé àwọn ọba Israẹli?
13 So then Joash slept with his fathers, and, Jeroboam, took his seat on his throne, —and Joash was buried in Samaria, with the kings of Israel.
Jehoaṣi sinmi pẹ̀lú àwọn baba a rẹ̀. Jeroboamu sì rọ́pò rẹ̀ lórí ìtẹ́. A sin Jehoaṣi sí Samaria pẹ̀lú àwọn ọba Israẹli.
14 Now, Elisha, had fallen sick of his sickness whereof he was about to die, —so then Joash king of Israel came down unto him, and wept upon his face, and said, My father! my father! The chariots of Israel and the horsemen thereof!
Nísinsin yìí, Eliṣa ń jìyà lọ́wọ́ àìsàn, lọ́wọ́ èyí tí ó sì kú. Jehoaṣi ọba Israẹli lọ láti lọ wò ó, ó sì sọkún lórí rẹ̀. “Baba mi! Baba mi!” Ó sọkún. “Àwọn kẹ̀kẹ́ àti àwọn ọkùnrin ẹlẹ́ṣin Israẹli!”
15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. So he took unto him bow and arrows.
Eliṣa wí pé, “Mú ọrun kan àti àwọn ọfà,” ó sì ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀.
16 Then said he unto the king of Israel, Let thy hand rest upon the bow. So he let his hand rest thereon. Then Elisha put his own hands upon the hands of the king;
“Mú ọrun ní ọwọ́ rẹ.” Ó wí fún ọba Israẹli. Nígbà tí ó ti mú u, Eliṣa mú ọwọ́ rẹ̀ lé ọwọ́ ọba.
17 and said—Open the lattice eastward. And he opened it. Then said Elisha—Shoot! And he shot. Then he said, —The arrow of victory by Yahweh, yea the arrow of victory over Syria, therefore shalt thou smite Syria in Aphek, till it be consumed.
“Ṣí fèrèsé apá ìlà-oòrùn,” ó wí, pẹ̀lú ó sì ṣí i: “Ta á!” Eliṣa wí, ó sì ta á. “Ọfà ìṣẹ́gun Olúwa; ọfà ìṣẹ́gun lórí Siria!” Eliṣa kéde. “Ìwọ yóò pa àwọn ará Siria run pátápátá ní Afeki.”
18 And he said—Take the arrows. So he took them. Then said he unto the king of Israel—Smite unto the ground. So he smote three times, and then stayed.
Nígbà náà ó wí pé, “Mú àwọn ọfà náà,” ọba sì mú wọn. Eliṣa wí fún un pé, “Lu ilẹ̀.” Ó lù ú lẹ́ẹ̀mẹ́ta, ó sì dáwọ́ dúró.
19 Then was the man of God wroth against him, and said—Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times, then, hadst thou smitten Syria, until it had been consumed; But, now, three times, shalt thou smite Syria.
Ènìyàn Ọlọ́run sì bínú sí i, ó sì wí pé, “Ìwọ kò bá ti lu ilẹ̀ ní ẹ̀ẹ̀márùn ún tàbí ní ẹ̀ẹ̀mẹ́fà, nígbà náà, ìwọ kò bá ti ṣẹ́gun Siria àti pa á run pátápátá ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí, ìwọ yóò ṣẹ́gun rẹ̀ ní ẹ̀ẹ̀mẹ́ta péré.”
20 And Elisha died, and they buried him, —now, troops of Moabites, used to enter the land, at the coming in of the year;
Eliṣa kú a sì sin ín. Ẹgbẹ́ àwọn ará Moabu máa ń wọ orílẹ̀-èdè ní gbogbo àmọ́dún.
21 and it came to pass, as, they, were burying a man, that, lo! they saw a troop, so they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha, —and, as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he came to life again, and rose up on his feet.
Bí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli kan ti ń sin òkú ọkùnrin kan, lójijì wọ́n rí ẹgbẹ́ àwọn oníjadì, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n ju òkú ọkùnrin náà sínú ibojì Eliṣa. Nígbà tí ara ọkùnrin náà kan egungun Eliṣa, ó padà wá sí ayé, ó sì dúró ní ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀.
22 And, Hazael king of Syria, had oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
Hasaeli ọba Siria ni Israẹli lára ní gbogbo àkókò tí Jehoahasi fi jẹ ọba.
23 Then was Yahweh gracious unto them, and had compassion upon them, and turned unto them, for the sake of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, —and was not willing to destroy them, nor to cast them off from his presence, as yet.
Ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa ṣàánú fún wọn ó sì ní ìyọ́nú, ó sì fiyèsí wọn nítorí májẹ̀mú rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú Abrahamu, Isaaki àti Jakọbu. Títí di ọjọ́ òní, kì í ṣe ìfẹ́ inú rẹ̀ láti pa wọ́n run tàbí lé wọn lọ níwájú rẹ̀.
24 So then Hazael king of Syria died; and, Ben-hadad his son, reigned, in his stead.
Hasaeli ọba Siria kú, Beni-Hadadi ọmọ rẹ̀ sì rọ́pò rẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọba.
25 And Jehoash son of Jehoahaz again took the cities out of the hand of Ben-hadad son of Hazael, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father, in war, —three times, did Joash smite him, and recover the cities of Israel.
Nígbà náà, Jehoaṣi ọmọ Jehoahasi gbà padà kúrò lọ́wọ́ Beni-Hadadi ọmọ Hasaeli àwọn ìlú tí ó ti gbà nínú ogun látọ̀dọ̀ baba rẹ̀ Jehoahasi. Ní ẹ̀ẹ̀mẹta, Jehoaṣi ṣẹ́gun rẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó gba ìlú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli padà.
