2 Corinthians 9

1 For, indeed, concerning the ministry which is for the saints, it is, superfluous for me, to be writing to you;

Pero no es necesario que diga nada en mi carta sobre la colecta para los santos:

2 For I know your forwardness of mind—of which, in your behalf, I am boasting unto Macedonians, that, Achaia, hath been prepared for a year past, —and, your zeal, hath stirred up the greater number of them.

Porque antes les he aclarado a los de Macedonia mi orgullo de nuestra buena voluntad, diciéndoles que Acaya ha estado dispuesto a ayudar; y un gran número ha sido movido a hacer lo mismo con su ejemplo.

3 Nevertheless I have sent the brethren, that, our boast in your behalf, be not made void, in this respect, that, even as I was saying, ye may be prepared, —

Pero he enviado a los hermanos, para que se vea que las cosas buenas que dijimos acerca de ustedes son verdad, y que, como dije, pueden estar listo:

4 Lest by any means, if there should come with me Macedonians, and find you unprepared, we, —not to say, ye, —should be put to shame in this confidence.

Por temor a que, si alguno de Macedonia venga conmigo, y no están listo, nosotros (por no decir, ustedes) podríamos avergonzarnos en esto.

5 Necessary, therefore, I regarded it, to exhort the brethren that they would go forward unto you, and make up beforehand your previously- promised blessing. The same, to be ready—thus, as a blessing, and not as of constraint.

Así que me pareció prudente que los hermanos fueran antes, y vean que la cantidad que se habían comprometido a dar estaba lista, de modo que podría ser motivo de alabanza, y no como si estuviéramos sacando provecho de ustedes.

6 As to this, however, he that soweth sparingly, sparingly, also shall reap, and, he that soweth with blessings, with blessings, also shall reap:

Pero en los Escrituras dice: Aquel que pone solo un pequeño número de semillas, recogerá lo mismo; y el que los pone de una mano completa, producirá en gran medida.

7 Each one, according as he hath purposed in his heart, not sorrowfully, nor of necessity, —for, a cheerful giver, God, loveth.

cada uno haga según el propósito de su corazón; no dando con pena o por la fuerza: porque Dios se complace en un dador alegre.

8 Moreover God is able to cause, every gracious gift, to superabound unto you, in order that, having in every thing, at every time, every kind of sufficiency of your own, ye may be superabounding unto every good work;

Y poderoso es Dios para darte toda la gracia en toda su medida; para que, teniendo siempre suficiente de todas las cosas, puedas estar lleno de toda buena obra:

9 Even as it is written—He hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the needy, —his righteousness, abideth to futurity. (aiōn g165)

Como se dice en los Escrituras, ha enviado lejos y ampliamente, ha dado a los pobres; su justicia es para siempre. (aiōn g165)

10 Now, he that supplieth seed to the sower, and bread for eating, will supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and cause to grow your fruits of righteousness:

Y el que da semilla para poner en el campo y pan para comer, cuidará del crecimiento de su semilla, al mismo tiempo que aumentará los frutos de su justicia;

11 In every thing, being enriched, unto every kind of liberality, —which, indeed, worketh out, through us, thanksgiving unto God;

Siendo enriquecidos en todo, y podrán dar generosamente, lo cual causa alabanza a Dios a través de nosotros.

12 Because, the ministry of this public service, is not only towards filling up the deficiencies of the saints, but also superabounding, through the thanksgiving of many, unto God, —

Porque esta obra de dar no solo se ocupa de las necesidades de los santos, sino que es causa de mucha alabanza a Dios;

13 [Of many] who, through the proof of this ministry, are glorifying God for your acknowledged submission unto the glad-message of the Christ, and for the liberality of the fellowship, unto them, and unto all, —

Porque cuando, por esta obra de dar, ven lo que son, dan gloria a Dios por la manera en que se han entregado a las buenas nuevas de Cristo, y por la riqueza de su ofrenda a ellos y a todos;

14 Themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, longing after you, by reason of the surpassing favour of God [resting] upon you: —

Mientras sus corazones están con ustedes en amor y en oración por ustedes, por la gran gracia de Dios que está en ustedes.

15 Thanks be unto God, for his unspeakable bounty!

Alabado sea Dios porque gran generosidad, que no hay palabras para expresarlo.
