2 Chronicles 9
1 And, the queen of Sheba, heard the report of Solomon, so she came to prove Solomon with abstruse questions, in Jerusalem, with a very great train, and camels bearing spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones, —and, when she was come to Solomon, she spake with him, as to all that was near her heart.
சாலொமோனின் புகழை சேபாவின் அரசி கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவள் அவனை கடினமான கேள்விகளால் சோதிப்பதற்காக எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தாள். அவள் தனது ஒட்டகங்களில் வாசனைப் பொருட்களையும், பெருந்தொகையான தங்கத்தையும், மாணிக்கக் கற்களையும் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு, தனது பரிவாரங்களுடன் வந்தாள். அவள் சாலொமோனிடம் வந்து, தனது மனதில் இருந்த எல்லா விஷயங்களைப் பற்றியும் அவனுடன் பேசினாள்.
2 And Solomon answered her all her questions, —and there was nothing hidden from Solomon, which he told her not.
சாலொமோன் அவளுடைய எல்லாக் கேள்விகளுக்கும் பதில் சொன்னான். அவன் அவளுக்கு விளக்கிச் சொல்ல முடியாத பதில் ஒன்றும் இருக்கவில்லை.
3 And, when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had built;
சேபாவின் அரசி சாலொமோனுடைய ஞானத்தையும், அத்துடன் அவன் கட்டியிருந்த அரண்மனையையும்,
4 and the food of his table, and the seats of his servants, and the standing of his attendants, with their apparel, and his cupbearers, and their apparel, and his ascent whereby he used to ascend the house of Yahweh, then was there in her no more spirit.
அவனுடைய மேஜையிலிருந்த உணவையும், அவன் அலுவலர்களையும், தங்கள் உடைகளில் காணப்பட்ட பணியாளர்களையும், திராட்சை இரசம் பரிமாறுகிறவர்களையும், அவன் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தில் செலுத்திய தகன காணிக்கைகளையும் கண்டபோது, அவள் ஆச்சரியத்தில் மூழ்கினாள்.
5 And she said unto the king, True was the word, which I heard in my own land, —concerning thine affairs, and concerning thy wisdom.
அப்பொழுது சேபாவின் அரசி அரசனிடம், “உமது சாதனைகளையும், உமது ஞானத்தையும் பற்றி நான் எனது நாட்டில் கேள்விப்பட்ட செய்தி உண்மையானது.
6 Howbeit I believed not their words, until I had come and mine own eyes had seen, when lo! there had not been told me, the half of the fulness of thy wisdom, —thou dost exceed the report which I heard.
ஆனால் நான் வந்து என் சொந்தக் கண்களால் பார்க்கும்வரை அவர்கள் சொன்னவற்றை நம்பவேயில்லை. உண்மையிலேயே உமது ஞானத்தின் மேன்மையில் பாதியாகிலும் எனக்குச் சொல்லப்படவில்லை. நான் கேள்விப்பட்டதைப் பார்க்கிலும், நீர் அதிக மேன்மை உடையவராயிருக்கிறீர்.
7 How happy! are thy men, and how happy! are these thy servants, —who are standing before thee continually, and hearing thy wisdom.
உமது மக்கள் எவ்வளவு சந்தோஷமுடையவர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டும். எப்பொழுதும் உமது முன்நின்று உமது ஞானத்தைக் கேட்கும் உமது அதிகாரிகள் எவ்வளவு மகிழ்ச்சியுடையவர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்.
8 Yahweh thy God be blessed, who hath delighted in thee, to set thee upon his throne as king unto Yahweh thy God. Because of the love of thy God unto Israel, to establish them unto times age-abiding, therefore hath he set thee over them, as king, to execute justice and righteousness.
உம்மில் பிரியங்கொண்டு, உம்மைத் தமது அரியணையில் அமர்த்தி, தமக்காக உம்மை அரசனாக்கிய உம்முடைய இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா துதிக்கப்படுவாராக. இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களை நிலைநிறுத்த உமது இறைவன் அவர்கள்மேல் கொண்டுள்ள அன்பினால், நீர் அவர்களுக்கு நீதியையும் நியாயத்தையும் காத்து நடத்தும்படி அவர்களின்மேல் உம்மை அரசனாக்கியிருக்கிறார்” என்று சொன்னாள்.
9 And she gave unto the king, a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance and precious stones, —and there was none like that spice, which the queen of Sheba gave unto King Solomon.
பின்பு அவள் அரசனுக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து தங்கத்தையும், பெருந்தொகையான வாசனைப் பொருட்களையும் விலைமதிப்புள்ள மாணிக்கக் கற்களையும் கொடுத்தாள். சேபாவின் அரசி சாலொமோன் அரசனுக்குக் கொடுத்த வாசனைப் பொருட்களைப்போல, அங்கே ஒருபோதும் அவை இருந்ததில்லை.
10 Moreover also, the servants of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought sandal-wood and precious stones.
ஈராமின் மனிதரும், சாலொமோனின் மனிதரும் ஓப்பீரிலிருந்து தங்கத்தைக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அத்துடன் அவர்கள் அல்மக் வாசனை மரங்களையும், விலைமதிப்புள்ள மாணிக்கக் கற்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
11 And the king made of the sandal-wood, stairs unto the house of Yahweh, and unto the house of the king, also lyres and harps, for the singers, —and there were none seen like them before, in the land of Judah.
அரசன் அந்த அல்மக் மரங்களை யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்துக்கும், அரச அரண்மனைக்கும் படிகளை அமைக்கவும், இசைக் கலைஞர்களுக்கான யாழ்களையும், வீணைகளையும் செய்வதற்கும் பயன்படுத்தினான். அப்படிப்பட்டவைகள் யூதாவில் ஒருபோதும் காணப்படவில்லை.
12 And, King Solomon, gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, besides [a return for] that which she had brought unto the king, —so she turned, and went away to her own land, she, and her servants.
சாலொமோன் அரசன் சேபாவின் அரசி ஆசைப்பட்டுக் கேட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் கொடுத்தான். அவள் தனக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தவற்றைவிட அதிகமாகவே அவன் அவளுக்குக் கொடுத்தான். அதன்பின் அவள் புறப்பட்டு தன் பரிவாரங்களோடு தன் சொந்த நாட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப் போனாள்.
13 Now, the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year, was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold;
ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் சாலொமோன் பெற்ற தங்கத்தின் எடை அறுநூற்று அறுபத்தாறு தாலந்துகள் இருந்தன.
14 besides what came in from the subjugated, and what the travelling merchants were bringing in, —and, all the kings of Arabia and the pashas of the land, were bringing gold and silver, unto Solomon.
இத்துடன் வியாபாரிகளும் வர்த்தகர்களும் கொண்டுவந்ததைத் தவிர, அரேபியா நாட்டு அரசர்களும், உள்நாட்டின் ஆளுநர்களும் சாலொமோனுக்குத் தங்கமும் வெள்ளியும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
15 And King Solomon made two hundred shields of beaten gold, —six hundred [shekels] of beaten gold, overlay one shield;
சாலொமோன் அரசன் அடித்த தங்கத்தகட்டால் இருநூறு பெரிய கேடயங்களைச் செய்தான். ஒவ்வொரு கேடயத்திற்கும் அறுநூறு சேக்கல் எடையுள்ள அடிக்கப்பட்ட தங்கம் செலவு செய்யப்பட்டது.
16 also three hundred bucklers of beaten gold, three hundred [shekels] of gold, overlay one buckler, —and the king placed them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
அத்துடன் அவன் அடித்த தங்கத்தால் முந்நூறு சிறிய கேடயங்களையும் செய்தான். ஒவ்வொரு கேடயத்திற்கும் முந்நூறு சேக்கல் எடையுள்ள தங்கம் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டது. அரசன் அவைகளை லெபனோன் வனம் என்ற அரண்மனையில் வைத்தான்.
17 And the king made a great throne of ivory, —and overlaid it with pure gold;
அதன்பின் அரசன் ஒரு பெரிய அரியணையைச் செய்து யானைத் தந்தத்தினால் அலங்கரித்தான். பின்பு அதை சுத்தமான தங்கத்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.
18 and there were six steps to the throne, and a footstool in gold, unto the throne, made fast, and supports, on this side and on that, unto the seat, —and, two lions, standing by the supports;
அரியணைக்கு ஆறு படிகளும் அதனுடன் இணைக்கப்பட்ட தங்கத்தினால் செய்த ஒரு பாதபடியும் இருந்தது. அரியணையின் இரு பக்கங்களிலும் கைத்தாங்கிகள் இருந்தன. அவற்றின் இருபுறங்களிலும் ஒவ்வொரு சிங்கத்தின் உருவம் இருந்தது.
19 and, twelve lions, standing there upon the six steps, on this side and on that, —there was never made the like, for any kingdom.
ஒவ்வொரு படியின் முனையிலும் இரு சிங்கங்களாக ஆறுபடிகளிலும் பன்னிரண்டு சிங்க உருவங்கள் நின்றன. வேறு எந்த அரசாட்சியிலும் இப்படியான ஒரு அரியணை எக்காலத்திலும் செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கவில்லை.
20 And, all the drinking vessels of King Solomon, were of gold, and, all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon, were of purified gold, —there was no silver, it was esteemed, in the days of Solomon, as nothing.
சாலொமோன் அரசனின் பானபாத்திரங்கள் யாவும் தங்கத்தினாலேயே செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தன. லெபனோன் வனமாளிகை மண்டபத்திலிருந்த வீட்டு உபயோகப் பொருட்கள் எல்லாம் சுத்தத் தங்கத்தினால் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தன. வெள்ளியினால் ஒன்றும் செய்யப்படவில்லை. ஏனெனில் சாலொமோனின் நாட்களில் வெள்ளி குறைந்த மதிப்புடையதாகவே கருதப்பட்டது.
21 For, the ships of the king, used to go to Tarshish, with the servants of Huram, —once in three years, came in the ships of Tarshish, bearing gold and silver, ivory and apes, and peacocks.
அரசனின் வியாபாரக் கப்பல்கள் ஈராமின் வேலைக்காரர்களுடன் தர்ஷீசுக்குப் போய்வரும். மூன்று வருடங்களுக்கு ஒருமுறை கப்பல்கள் போய்த் திரும்பி வரும்போது தங்கம், வெள்ளி, யானைத்தந்தம், குரங்குகள், மயில்கள் போன்றவற்றை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு வந்தன.
22 And so King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth, —as to riches, and wisdom.
பூமியிலுள்ள மற்ற அரசர்களைவிட அரசன் சாலொமோன் செல்வத்திலும் ஞானத்திலும் மேம்பட்டவனாய் இருந்தான்.
23 And, all the kings of the earth, were seeking the face of Solomon, —to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart;
பூமியிலுள்ள அரசர்கள் எல்லோரும் சாலொமோனின் இருதயத்தில் இறைவன் கொடுத்த ஞானத்தைக் கேட்பதற்கு அவனை நாடி வந்தார்கள்.
24 and, they, were bringing in every man his present—utensils of silver, and utensils of gold, and mantles, armour, and spices, horses and mules, —the need of a year in a year.
வருடந்தோறும் அவனிடம் வந்த ஒவ்வொருவரும் அன்பளிப்பைக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் வெள்ளிப் பாத்திரங்கள், தங்கப் பாத்திரங்கள், அங்கிகள், ஆயுதங்கள், வாசனைப் பொருட்கள், குதிரைகள், கோவேறு கழுதைகள் ஆகியவற்றைக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls of horses, and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, —and he settled them in the chariot cities, and with the king in Jerusalem.
சாலொமோனிடம் குதிரைகளுக்கும், தேர்களுக்கும் 4,000 தொழுவங்கள் இருந்தன. 12,000 குதிரைகளை தேர்ப் பட்டணங்களிலும் அரசன் தன்னுடன் எருசலேமிலும் வைத்திருந்தான்.
26 And he ruled over all the kings, —from the river [Euphrates], even up to the land of the Philistines, yea up to the bounds of Egypt.
அவன் ஐபிராத்து நதிதொடங்கி எகிப்தின் எல்லை மட்டுமுள்ள பெலிஸ்திய நாடுவரையுள்ள எல்லா அரசர்களுக்கும் மேலாக ஆளுகை செய்தான்.
27 And the king made the silver in Jerusalem like the stones, —and, the cedar trees, made he like the sycomores which are in the lowland, for abundance.
அரசன் எருசலேமில் வெள்ளியைக் கற்களைப்போல் சாதாரணமாகவும், கேதுரு மரங்களை மலையடிவாரத்திலுள்ள காட்டத்தி மரங்களைப்போல ஏராளமாகவும் கிடைக்கும்படி செய்தான்.
28 And they used to bring horses out of Egypt unto Solomon, and out of all lands.
சாலொமோனுக்கு குதிரைகள் எகிப்திலிருந்தும் மற்ற எல்லா நாடுகளிலிருந்தும் இறக்குமதி செய்யப்பட்டன.
29 Now, the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the records of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer, concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?
சாலொமோனின் அரசாட்சியின் மற்ற நிகழ்வுகள், தொடக்கமுதல் முடிவுவரை, இறைவாக்கினன் நாத்தானின் பதிவேடுகளிலும், சீலோனியனான அகியாவின் இறைவாக்கிலும், நேபாத்தின் மகன் யெரொபெயாமைப் பற்றிய தரிசனக்காரனான இத்தோவின் தரிசனங்களிலும் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கின்றன.
30 And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel, forty years.
சாலொமோன் இஸ்ரயேல் முழுவதையும் நாற்பது வருடங்கள் எருசலேமிலிருந்து அரசாண்டான்.
31 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father, —and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
இதன்பின் சாலொமோன் தன் முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல இறந்து, தன் தகப்பனான தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான். அவன் மகன் ரெகொபெயாம் அவனுக்குப்பின் அரசனானான்.
