2 Chronicles 35
1 And Josiah kept, in Jerusalem, a passover unto Yahweh, —and they slaughtered the passover, on the fourteenth of the first month.
Hierauf feierte Josia dem HERRN ein Passah in Jerusalem; und zwar schlachtete man das Passah am vierzehnten Tage des ersten Monats.
2 And he set the priests over their charges, —and encouraged them unto the service of the house of Yahweh;
Da bestellte er die Priester zu ihren Obliegenheiten und weckte in ihnen den Eifer für den Dienst im Hause des HERRN.
3 and said to the Levites who gave instruction to all Israel as to the things which were hallowed unto Yahweh, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon son of David king of Israel did build, it is not yours as a burden on the shoulder, —Now, serve ye Yahweh your God, and his people Israel;
Den Leviten aber, die ganz Israel zu unterweisen hatten und die dem HERRN geheiligt waren, gebot er: »Bringt die heilige Lade in den Tempel, den Salomo, der Sohn Davids, der König von Israel, gebaut hat: ihr braucht sie nicht mehr auf der Schulter zu tragen. So dient nunmehr dem HERRN, eurem Gott, und seinem Volk Israel
4 and prepare yourselves by your ancestral houses, according to your courses, —by the writing of David king of Israel, and by what hath been written by Solomon his son;
und haltet euch bereit nach euren Familien, in euren Abteilungen, wie David, der König von Israel, (es verordnet) und sein Sohn Salomo es vorgeschrieben hat.
5 and stand ye in the holy place, by the divisions of the ancestral house, for your brethren, the sons of the people, and the partitioning of an ancestral house, for the Levites.
Stellt euch also im Heiligtum entsprechend den Gruppen der Familien eurer Volksgenossen, der Laien, auf, und zwar (für jede Gruppe) eine Abteilung einer levitischen Familie.
6 So slaughter ye the passover, —and hallow yourselves, and prepare for your brethren, that they may do according to the word of Yahweh, by the hand of Moses.
Dann schlachtet das Passah und heiligt euch und richtet (die Opfertiere) für eure Volksgenossen zu, so daß ihr nach den Weisungen verfahrt, die der HERR durch Mose gegeben hat.«
7 And Josiah presented to the sons of the people—of flocks, young sheep and the young of the goats, the whole for the passover offerings, for all present, to the number of thirty thousand, and, of bullocks, three thousand, —these, out of the substance of the king.
Hierauf machte Josia den Leuten aus dem Volke Kleinvieh zum Geschenk, nämlich Schaflämmer und junge Ziegenböcke, alles zu den Passahopfern für alle Anwesenden, dreißigtausend an der Zahl, dazu dreitausend Rinder, alles dies aus dem königlichen Besitz.
8 And, his rulers, willingly, to the people and to the priests and to the Levites, presented, —Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, chief rulers of the house of God, unto the priests, did give, for passover offerings, two thousand and six hundred, and, of bullocks, three hundred;
Auch seine Obersten spendeten dem Volke, den Priestern und den Leviten freiwillige Gaben; nämlich Hilkia, Sacharja und Jehiel, die Fürsten des Gotteshauses, schenkten den Priestern für die Passahopfer 2600 Stück Kleinvieh und 300 Rinder;
9 and, Conaniah, and Shemaiah and Nethanel his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, rulers of the Levites, presented to the Levites, for passover offerings, five thousand, and, of bullocks, five hundred.
und Chananja nebst seinen Brüdern Semaja und Nethaneel sowie Hasabja, Jehiel und Josabad, die Obersten der Leviten, spendeten den Leviten als freiwillige Gabe zu den Passahopfern 5000 Stück Kleinvieh und 500 Rinder.
10 Thus was the service prepared, —and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the commandment of the king.
Nach diesen Vorbereitungen für den Gottesdienst traten die Priester an ihren Platz, ebenso die Leviten nach ihren Abteilungen, wie der König es befohlen hatte.
11 So they slaughtered the passover, and the priests dashed [the blood received] at their hand, and the Levites were flaying [the offerings].
Dann schlachteten (die Leviten) das Passah, und die Priester nahmen die Besprengungen mit dem ihnen dargereichten Blut vor, während die Leviten (den Tieren) die Haut abzogen.
12 Then they removed the ascending-sacrifice, that they might give them—by the divisions of each ancestral house—unto the sons of the people, to offer unto Yahweh, as it is written in the Book of Moses, —and, in like manner, with the bullocks.
Sie legten aber die Stücke beiseite, welche verbrannt werden sollten, um sie den einzelnen Gruppen der Laienfamilien zu geben, damit diese sie dem HERRN darbrächten, wie es im mosaischen Gesetzbuch vorgeschrieben ist; und ebenso machte man es mit den Rindern.
13 And they cooked the passover with fire, according to the regulation, —but, the hallowed things, cooked they in cauldrons and in pots and in bowls, and then took quickly, unto all the sons of the people.
Dann brieten sie das Passah vorschriftsgemäß am Feuer, während sie die geweihten Gaben in Töpfen, Kesseln und Schüsseln kochten und sie eilends allen Leuten aus dem Volke hinbrachten.
14 And, afterwards, prepared they for themselves and for the priests, because, the priests, the sons of Aaron, had been engaged in offering up the ascending-sacrifice and the fat pieces, until night, —the Levites, therefore prepared for themselves, and for the priests, the sons of Aaron.
Darnach richteten sie auch für sich und für die Priester zu; denn die Priester, die Nachkommen Aarons, hatten mit der Darbringung der Brandopfer und der Fettstücke bis in die Nacht hinein zu tun; darum mußten die Leviten für sich und für die Priester, die Nachkommen Aarons, zurichten.
15 the singers also, the sons of Asaph, were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the seer of the king, and, the doorkeepers, were at the several doors, —there was no need for them to remove from their service, for, their brethren the Levites, prepared for them.
Auch die Sänger, die Nachkommen Asaphs, waren auf ihrem Posten nach der Anordnung Davids, Asaphs, Hemans und Jeduthuns, des königlichen Sehers, und ebenso standen die Torhüter an den einzelnen Toren; sie hatten nicht nötig, ihren Dienst zu verlassen, weil ihre Stammesgenossen, die Leviten, für sie zurichteten.
16 Thus was all the service of Yahweh prepared on that day; to keep the passover, and to offer up the ascending-sacrifice, upon the altar of Yahweh, —according to the commandment of King Josiah.
So war der ganze Dienst des HERRN an jenem Tage geordnet, so daß man das Passah feierte und die Brandopfer auf dem Altar des HERRN nach der Anordnung des Königs Josia darbrachte.
17 So the sons of Israel who were present kept the passover at that time, —and the festival of unleavened cakes, seven days.
So feierten also damals die Israeliten, die zugegen waren, das Passah und dann das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote sieben Tage lang.
18 And there had not been kept, a passover like it, in Israel, since the days of Samuel the prophet, —yea, none of the kings of Israel, had kept such a passover as was kept by Josiah and the priests and the Levites and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Es war aber ein solches Passah wie dieses in Israel nicht gefeiert worden seit der Zeit des Propheten Samuel, und keiner von allen Königen Israels hatte ein solches Passah veranstaltet, wie Josia es feierte mit den Priestern und den Leviten und ganz Juda sowie mit den Israeliten, die sich dazu eingefunden hatten, und mit den Bewohnern Jerusalems.
19 In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah, was kept this passover.
Im achtzehnten Jahre der Regierung Josias ist dieses Passah gefeiert worden.
20 After all this—when Josiah had prepared the house, Neco king of Egypt came up, -to fight against Carchemish, by Euphrates, and Josiah went forth against him.
Nach allen diesen Begebenheiten, als Josia den Tempel wiederhergestellt hatte, zog Necho, der König von Ägypten, heran, um (dem König von Assyrien) bei Karchemis am Euphrat eine Schlacht zu liefern, und Josia zog ihm entgegen.
21 But he sent unto him messengers, saying—What have I to do with thee, O king of Judah? not against thee, [have I come] this day, but against the house wherewith I have war, and, God, hath given word to speed me, —cease thou from [provoking] God who is with me, lest he destroy thee.
Da sandte jener Boten an ihn und ließ ihm sagen: »Was haben wir miteinander zu schaffen, König von Juda? Nicht gegen dich ziehe ich diesmal, sondern gegen das Herrscherhaus (von Assyrien), mit dem ich Krieg führe, und Gott hat mir Eile geboten. Laß also ab von Gott, der mit mir ist, damit er dich nicht verderbe!«
22 Howbeit Josiah turned not his face from him, for, to fight against him, he had disguised himself, and he hearkened not unto the words of Neco, from the mouth of God, —so he came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
Aber Josia ließ sich nicht zum Rückzug vor ihm bewegen, sondern faßte den kühnen Entschluß, mit ihm zu kämpfen, ohne auf die Warnung Nechos zu hören, die doch aus dem Munde Gottes kam. Er rückte also zum Kampf in die Ebene von Megiddo.
23 And the archers shot at King Josiah, —and the king said unto his servants, Take me away, for I am sore wounded.
Da schossen die Bogenschützen auf den König Josia, bis dieser seinen Dienern befahl: »Bringt mich hinweg, denn ich bin schwer verwundet!«
24 So his servants took him away out of the war-chariot, and conveyed him in a second chariot which he had, and carried him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in the sepulchres of his fathers, —and, all Judah and Jerusalem, were mourning over Josiah.
Da hoben ihn seine Diener von dem Kriegswagen hinunter, setzten ihn auf den zweiten Wagen, den er bei sich hatte, und brachten ihn nach Jerusalem, wo er starb und in den Gräbern seiner Väter beigesetzt wurde. Ganz Juda und Jerusalem trauerten um Josia;
25 And Jeremiah chanted a dirge over Josiah, and all the singing men and singing women in their dirges have spoken concerning Josiah, until this day, and they appointed them by statute for Israel, —and, there they are, written among the dirges.
Jeremia aber dichtete ein Klagelied auf Josia, und alle Sänger und Sängerinnen haben (seitdem) in ihren Klageliedern von Josia gesungen bis auf den heutigen Tag; sie sind in Israel überall in Aufnahme gekommen und finden sich bekanntlich in den Klageliedern aufgezeichnet.
26 But, the rest of the story of Josiah, and his lovingkindness, —according to that which is written in the law of Yahweh:
Die übrige Geschichte Josias aber und seine frommen, den Vorschriften im Gesetz des HERRN entsprechenden Taten,
27 even his story, first and last, there it is, written in the book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
überhaupt seine Geschichte von Anfang bis zu Ende, das findet sich bekanntlich schon aufgezeichnet im Buch der Könige von Israel und Juda.
