2 Chronicles 21
1 And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers, in the city of David, —and Jehoram his son reigned in his steed.
Und Josaphat legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward begraben bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids, und Jehoram, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
2 Now, he, had brethren, sons of Jehoshaphat—Azariah and Jehiel and Zechariah and Azariah, and Michael and Shephatiah, —all these, were sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel,
Und er hatte Brüder, Söhne Josaphats, nämlich Asarja, Jechiel und Sacharjahu, Asarjahu, Michael und Sephatjahu. Diese alle waren Söhne Josaphats, des Königs von Juda.
3 and their father gave them large presents—of silver and of gold and of precious things, with cities of defence, in Judah, —but, the kingdom, gave he unto Jehoram, for, he, was the firstborn.
Und ihr Vater machte ihnen reiche Geschenke von Silber, Gold und Kleinodien und gab ihnen feste Städte in Juda. Aber das Königreich gab er Jehoram, denn er war der Erstgeborene.
4 But, when Jehoram had arisen over the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren, with the sword, —moreover also some of the rulers of Israel.
Als aber Jehoram das Königreich seines Vaters übernommen hatte und mächtig geworden war, tötete er alle seine Brüder mit dem Schwert; dazu auch etliche von den Fürsten Israels.
5 Thirty-two years old, was Jehoram when he began to reign, —and, eight years, reigned he in Jerusalem.
Zweiunddreißig Jahre alt war Jehoram, als er König ward, und regierte acht Jahre lang zu Jerusalem;
6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab, for, the daughter of Ahab, had he, to wife, —so he wrought wickedness, in the eyes of Yahweh.
und er wandelte in dem Wege der Könige von Israel, wie das Haus Ahabs getan hatte; denn er hatte die Tochter Ahabs zur Frau. Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen des HERRN.
7 Howbeit Yahweh was not willing to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant which he had solemnised, unto David, —and as he had promised to give unto him a lamp, and unto his sons, all the days.
Aber der HERR wollte das Haus Davids nicht verderben, um des Bundes willen, welchen er mit David gemacht, und weil er ihm verheißen hatte, daß er ihm und seinen Kindern eine Leuchte geben werde immerdar.
8 In his days, revolted the Edomites, from under the hand of Judah, —and set over themselves a king.
Zu seiner Zeit fielen die Edomiter von Juda ab und setzten einen König über sich.
9 So Jehoram passed over, with his captains, and all his chariot, with him, -and it came to pass that he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites that were round about unto him, and the chariot-captains.
Da zog Jehoram hinüber mit seinen Obersten und allen Wagen; und er machte sich auf bei Nacht und schlug die Edomiter, die ihn und die Obersten der Wagen umzingelten.
10 So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah—unto this day. Then, must Libnah needs revolt at the same time, from under his hand, —because he had forsaken Yahweh, the God of his fathers.
Aber die Edomiter fielen von Juda ab bis auf diesen Tag. Zu jener Zeit fiel auch Libna von ihm ab; denn er verließ den HERRN, den Gott seiner Väter.
11 He too, made high places among the mountains of Judah, —and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to be unchaste, and seduced Judah.
Auch machte er Höhen auf den Bergen Judas und verführte die Bewohner Jerusalems zur Abgötterei und brachte Juda auf Abwege.
12 Then came there unto him, a writing, from Elijah the prophet, saying, —Thus, saith Yahweh, God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa, king of Judah;
Es kam aber ein Schreiben zu ihm von dem Propheten Elia; das lautete also: So spricht der HERR, der Gott deines Vaters David: Weil du nicht gewandelt bist in den Wegen deines Vaters Josaphat, noch in den Wegen Asas, des Königs von Juda,
13 but hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to be unchaste, after the unchastities of the house of Ahab, —moreover also, thine own brethren of the house of thy father who were better than thou, hast thou slain,
sondern in dem Wege der Könige von Israel, und verführst Juda und die Bewohner Jerusalems zu Abgötterei, gleichwie das Haus Ahabs Abgötterei einführte, und hast dazu deine Brüder aus deines Vaters Haus erwürgt, die besser waren als du;
14 lo! Yahweh, is about to plague, with a great plague, thy people, -and thy children and thy wives, and all thy possessions;
siehe, darum wird der HERR eine schwere Plage über dein Volk verhängen, auch über deine Kinder, deine Frauen und alle deine Habe.
15 also, thyself, with sore diseases, with disease of thy bowels, -until thy bowels shall fall out, by reason of the disease, in a year added to a year.
Du aber wirst viel zu leiden haben an einer Krankheit in deinen Eingeweiden, bis deine Eingeweide infolge dieser Krankheit nach und nach heraustreten werden.
16 And Yahweh stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and the Arabians, who were under the direction of the Ethiopians;
Also erweckte der HERR wider Jehoram den Geist der Philister und Araber, welche zur Seite der Mohren wohnen;
17 and they came up against Judah, and forced their way into it, and carried off all the possessions that were found belonging to the house of the king, moreover also his sons and his wives, —so that there was left him never a son, save only Jehoahaz the youngest of his sons.
die zogen herauf gegen Juda und brachen ein und führten alle Habe hinweg, die im Hause des Königs vorhanden war; dazu seine Söhne und seine Frauen, so daß ihm kein Sohn übrigblieb, außer Joahas, sein jüngster Sohn.
18 And, after all this, Yahweh plagued him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
Und nach alledem schlug ihn der HERR in seinen Eingeweiden mit einer unheilbaren Krankheit.
19 And it came to pass, in a year beyond a year, even when the end of the days of two years had passed, that his bowels fell out by reason of his disease, so that he died, of, malignant disease, —and his people made him no burning, like the burning of his fathers.
Und solches währte zwei Jahre. Als aber nach zwei Jahren seine Eingeweide austraten infolge seiner Krankheit, starb er unter argen Schmerzen. Und sein Volk machte ihm zu Ehren kein Feuer, wie man seinen Vätern getan hatte.
20 Thirty-two years old, was he when he began to reign, and, eight years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and went his way—unregretted, and, though they buried him in the city of David, yet, not in the sepulchres of the kings.
Mit zweiunddreißig Jahren war er König geworden, und er regierte acht Jahre lang zu Jerusalem und ging unbeliebt dahin, und man begrub ihn in der Stadt Davids, aber nicht in den Gräbern der Könige.
