2 Chronicles 14
1 So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David, and Asa his son reigned in his stead, —in his days, the land rested ten years.
௧அபியா இறந்தபின், அவனைத் தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; அவனுடைய இடத்தில் அவன் மகனாகிய ஆசா ராஜாவானான்; இவனுடைய நாட்களில் தேசம் பத்து வருடங்கள்வரை அமைதலாயிருந்தது.
2 And Asa did that which was good and that which was right, in the eyes of Yahweh his God;
௨ஆசா தன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்கு நன்மையும் செம்மையுமானதைச் செய்தான்.
3 and took away the foreign altars, and the high places, —and brake in pieces the pillars, and cut in twain the Sacred Stems;
௩அந்நிய தெய்வங்களின் பலிபீடங்களையும் மேடைகளையும் அகற்றி, சிலைகளை உடைத்து, விக்கிரகத்தோப்புகளை வெட்டி,
4 and bade Judah seek Yahweh, God of their fathers, -and execute the law, and the commandment;
௪தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை தேடவும், நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியும் கற்பனையின்படியும் செய்யவும் யூதாவுக்குக் கற்றுக்கொடுத்து,
5 and removed from all the cities of Judah, the high places, and the sun-images, —and the kingdom became quiet before him.
௫யூதாவுடைய எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களிலுமிருந்து மேடைகளையும் விக்கிரகங்களையும் அகற்றினான்; அவனுக்கு முன்பாக ராஜ்ஜியம் அமைதலாயிருந்தது.
6 And he built cities of defence, in Judah, —for the land had quiet, nor was there near him any war, in these years, because Yahweh had given him rest.
௬யெகோவா அவனுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதலைக் கட்டளையிட்டதால், அந்த வருடங்களில் அவனுக்கு விரோதமான போர் இல்லாமலிருந்தது; தேசம் அமைதலாயிருந்ததால் யூதாவிலே பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணங்களைக் கட்டினான்.
7 Therefore said he to Judah, Let us build these cities, and let us surround them with walls and towers, doors and bars, while the land is yet before us, for we have sought Yahweh our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built, and prospered.
௭அவன் யூதாவை நோக்கி: தேசம் நமக்கு முன்பாக அமைதலாயிருக்கும்போது, நாம் இந்தப் பட்டணங்களைக் கட்டி, அவைகளுக்கு கோட்டைச் சுவர்கள், கோபுரங்கள், வாசல்கள் உண்டாக்கி, தாழ்ப்பாள் போட்டுப் பலப்படுத்துவோமாக; நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை தேடினோம், தேடினபோது, சுற்றிலும் நமக்கு இளைப்பாறுதலைக் கட்டளையிட்டார் என்றான்; அப்படியே கட்டினார்கள்; அவர்களுக்குக் காரியம் வாய்த்தது.
8 And it came to pass that, Asa, had a force bearing shield and spear, out of Judah, three hundred thousand, and, out of Benjamin, such as bare a buckler and trode a bow, two hundred and eighty thousand, —all these, were heroes of valour.
௮யூதாவிலே கேடகத்தையும் ஈட்டியும் பிடிக்கிற மூன்றுலட்சம்பேரும், பென்யமீனிலே கேடகம் பிடித்து வில்லை நாணேற்றுகிற இரண்டுலட்சத்து எண்பதாயிரம்பேருமான படை ஆசாவுக்கு இருந்தது, இவர்களெல்லோரும் பலசாலிகள்.
9 Then came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian, with a force of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots, —and he came as far as Mareshah.
௯அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக எத்தியோப்பியனாகிய சேரா பத்துலட்சம்பேர் சேர்ந்த படையோடும் முந்நூறு இரதங்களோடும் புறப்பட்டு மரேஷாவரை வந்தான்.
10 And Asa went out to meet him, —and they set in array for battle, in the valley of Zaphonah, at Mareshah.
௧0அப்பொழுது ஆசா அவனுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்பட்டான்; மரேஷாவுக்கு அடுத்த செப்பத்தா என்னும் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் போருக்கு அணிவகுத்து நின்றார்கள்.
11 Then Asa cried out unto Yahweh his God, and said, O Yahweh, it is, nothing with thee, to help whether with many or with such as have no strength. Help us, O Yahweh our God, for, on thee, do we lean, and, in thy name, have we come against this multitude, —O Yahweh! our God, thou art, let not, weak man, have power against thee.
௧௧ஆசா தன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு: யெகோவாவே, பலமுள்ளவனுக்காகிலும் பலமில்லாதவனுக்காகிலும் உதவிசெய்கிறது உமக்கு லேசான காரியம்; எங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவே, எங்களுக்குத் துணையாக நில்லும்; உம்மைச் சார்ந்து உம்முடைய நாமத்தில் ஏராளமான இந்தக் கூட்டத்திற்கு எதிராக வந்தோம்; யெகோவாவே, நீர் எங்கள் தேவன்; மனிதன் உம்மை மேற்கொள்ளவிடாதேயும் என்றான்.
12 So Yahweh smote the Ethiopians, before Asa, and before Judah, —and the Ethiopians fled.
௧௨அப்பொழுது யெகோவா அந்த எத்தியோப்பியர்களை ஆசாவுக்கும் யூதாவுக்கும் முன்பாகத் தோற்கடித்ததால் எத்தியோப்பியர்கள் ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.
13 And Asa and the people that were with him pursued as far as to Gerar, and the Ethiopians fell, so that there was no way for them to recover, for they were routed before Yahweh, and before him host, —and they carried away exceeding much spoil.
௧௩அவர்களை ஆசாவும் அவனோடிருந்த மக்களும் கேரார்வரை துரத்தினார்கள்; எத்தியோப்பியர்கள் திரும்ப பலங்கொள்ளாதபடிக்கு முற்றிலும் அழிக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; யெகோவாவுக்கும் அவருடைய படைக்கும் முன்பாக நொறுங்கிப்போனார்கள்; அவர்கள் மிகுதியாகக் கொள்ளையடித்து,
14 And they smote all the cities round shout Gerar, for the dread of Yahweh was upon them, —and they plundered all the cities, for, great plunder, was there in them.
௧௪கேராரின் சுற்றுப்பட்டணங்களையெல்லாம் தோற்கடித்தார்கள்; கர்த்தரால் அவர்களுக்குப் பயங்கரம் உண்டானது; அந்தப் பட்டணங்களையெல்லாம் கொள்ளையிட்டார்கள், அவைகளில் கொள்ளை மிகுதியாக அகப்பட்டது.
15 Moreover also, the tents of the cattle, they smote, —and carried off sheep in abundance, and camels, and returned to Jerusalem.
௧௫மிருகஜீவன்கள் இருந்த கொட்டகைகளையும் அவர்கள் இடித்துப்போட்டு, திரளான ஆடுகளையும் ஒட்டகங்களையும் ஓட்டிக்கொண்டு எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பினார்கள்.
