< 2 Chronicles 11 >
1 And when Rehoboam had entered Jerusalem, he called together the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, warriors, —to fight against Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
Nígbà tí Rehoboamu dé Jerusalẹmu, ó kó ilé Juda àti Benjamini jọ, ọ̀kẹ́ mẹ́sàn-án ènìyàn tí a yàn, tí wọ́n jẹ́ ológun, láti bá Israẹli jà kí ó lè mú ìjọba náà padà bọ̀ sọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀.
2 Then came the word of Yahweh, unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying:
Ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ Ṣemaiah ènìyàn Ọlọ́run wá wí pé,
3 Speak unto Rehoboam son of Solomon, king of Judah, —and unto all Israel in Judah and in Benjamin, saying:
“Wí fún Rehoboamu ọmọ Solomoni ọba Juda, sí gbogbo àwọn ọmọ Israẹli ní Juda àti Benjamini,
4 Thus, saith Yahweh, Ye shall not go up neither shall ye fight against your brethren, return every man to his own house, for, from me, hath this thing been brought about. So they hearkened unto the words of Yahweh, and turned back from going against Jeroboam.
‘Èyí ní ohun tí Olúwa wí. Ẹ má ṣe gòkè lọ láti lọ jà pẹ̀lú arákùnrin yín, ẹ lọ sílé, gbogbo yín, nítorí ti ìṣe mi nìyí.’” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n tẹ̀lé ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run, wọ́n sì padà sẹ́yìn láti yan lọ dojúkọ Jeroboamu.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, —and built cities for defence, in Judah;
Rehoboamu ń gbe ní Jerusalẹmu ó sì kọ́ àwọn ìlú fún olódi ní Juda.
6 yea he built Bethlehem and Etam, and Tekoa;
Bẹtilẹhẹmu, Etamu, Tekoa,
7 and Beth-zur and Soco, and Adullam;
Beti-Suri, Soko, Adullamu,
8 and Gath and Mareshah, and Ziph;
Gati, Meraṣa Sifi,
9 and Adoraim and Lachish, and Azekah;
Adoraimu, Lakiṣi, Aseka
10 and Zorah, and Aijalon and Hebron, which are in Judah and Benjamin, —as fortified cities.
Sora, Aijaloni, àti Hebroni. Wọ̀nyí ni àwọn ìlú ìdáàbòbò ní Juda àti Benjamini.
11 And he strengthened the fortified places, —and put therein captains, and stores of food, and oil and wine;
Ó sì mú àwọn ìlú olódi lágbára, ó sì fi àwọn balógun sínú wọn àti àkójọ oúnjẹ, àti òróró àti ọtí wáìnì.
12 and, in every several city, shields and spears, and made them exceedingly strong, —thus Judah and Benjamin remained his.
Àti ní olúkúlùkù ìlú ni ó fi asà àti ọ̀kọ̀ sí, ó sì mú wọn lágbára gidigidi, ó sì ní Juda àti Benjamini lábẹ́ rẹ̀.
13 And, the priests and Levites that were in all Israel, took their stand with him, out of all their boundaries.
Àwọn àlùfáà àti àwọn ará Lefi, láti gbogbo ẹ̀yà wọn jákèjádò Israẹli wà ní ẹ̀bá rẹ̀.
14 For the Levites left their pasture lands, and their possessions, and came to Judah, and to Jerusalem, —for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, from ministering as priests unto Yahweh;
Àwọn ará Lefi fi ìgbèríko sílẹ̀, wọ́n sì wá sí Juda àti Jerusalẹmu nítorí Jeroboamu àti àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀, ti kọ̀ wọ́n sílẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn àlùfáà Olúwa.
15 and appointed for himself priests for the high places, and for the demons—and for the calves which he had made.
Ó sì yan àwọn àlùfáà tirẹ̀ fún àwọn ibi gíga wọ̀n-ọn-nì, àti fún àwọn ère òbúkọ, àti fún ẹgbọrọ màlúù tí ó ṣe.
16 And, after them—out of all the tribes of Israel, such as were setting their heart to seek Yahweh God of Israel, came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto Yahweh, God of their fathers.
Àwọn tó wá láti gbogbo ẹ̀yà Israẹli tí wọ́n fi ọkàn wọn fún wíwá Olúwa, Ọlọ́run Israẹli, tẹ̀lé àwọn ará Lefi lọ sí Jerusalẹmu láti lọ rú ẹbọ sí Olúwa Ọlọ́run baba a wọn.
17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and emboldened Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, —for they walked in the way of David and Solomon, for three years.
Ó fún ìjọba Juda ní agbára, ó sì ti Rehoboamu ọmọ Solomoni lẹ́yìn fún ọdún mẹ́ta nítorí ọdún mẹ́ta ni wọ́n fi rìn ní ọ̀nà ti Dafidi àti Solomoni ní àkókò yí.
18 And Rehoboam took him to wife, Mahalath, daughter of Jerimoth, son of David, —and Abihail, daughter of Eliab, son of Jesse;
Rehoboamu fẹ́ Mahalati tí ó jẹ́ ọmọbìnrin ti ọmọkùnrin Dafidi Jerimoti bi àti ti Abihaili, ọmọbìnrin ti ọmọkùnrin Jese Eliabu bí.
19 and she bare him sons, —Jeush and Shamariah and Zaham.
Ó bí àwọn ọmọ fún un: Jeuṣi, Ṣemariah àti Sahamu.
20 And, after her, he took Maacah, daughter of Absolom, —and she bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Nígbà náà, ó fẹ́ Maaka ọmọbìnrin Absalomu, tí ó bí Abijah fún Attai, Sisa àti Ṣelomiti.
21 And Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absolom, above all his wives and his concubines, for, eighteen wives, took he, and sixty concubines, —and begat twenty-eight sons, and sixty daughters.
Rehoboamu fẹ́ràn Maaka ọmọbìnrin Absalomu ju èyíkéyìí nínú àwọn ìyàwó rẹ̀ àti àwọn àlè rẹ̀ lọ. Ní gbogbo rẹ̀, ó ní ìyàwó méjìdínlógún àti ọgọ́ta àlè ọmọkùnrin méjìdínlọ́gbọ̀n àti ọgọ́ta ọmọbìnrin.
22 So then Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as head, to be chief ruler among his brethren, —yea that he might make him king.
Rehoboamu yan Abijah ọmọ Maaka láti jẹ́ olóyè ọmọ-aládé láàrín àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀, kí ó ba à lè ṣe é ní ọba.
23 So he took heed, and dispersed all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, unto all the fortified cities, and gave them food in abundance, —and asked a multitude of wives.
Ó hùwà ọlọ́gbọ́n, nípa fí fọ́n díẹ̀ nínú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ jákèjádò ká àwọn agbègbè Juda àti Benjamini àti sí gbogbo àwọn ìlú ńlá olódi. Ó fún wọn ní ọ̀pọ̀ ohun tí wọ́n fẹ́, ó sì fẹ́ ọ̀pọ̀ ìyàwó fún wọn.
