< 2 Chronicles 11 >
1 And when Rehoboam had entered Jerusalem, he called together the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, warriors, —to fight against Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
Ɛberɛ a Rehoboam duruu Yerusalem no, ɔboaboaa Yuda ne Benyamin akodɔm a ɛyɛ akodɔm papa ɔpeha aduɔwɔtwe ano, sɛ wɔrekɔko atia Israel akodɔm, na wagye ahennie no afa.
2 Then came the word of Yahweh, unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying:
Na Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Onyankopɔn onipa Semaia sɛ,
3 Speak unto Rehoboam son of Solomon, king of Judah, —and unto all Israel in Judah and in Benjamin, saying:
“Ka kyerɛ Salomo babarima Rehoboam a ɔdi ɔhene wɔ Yuda ne Israelfoɔ a wɔwɔ Yuda ne Benyamin sɛ,
4 Thus, saith Yahweh, Ye shall not go up neither shall ye fight against your brethren, return every man to his own house, for, from me, hath this thing been brought about. So they hearkened unto the words of Yahweh, and turned back from going against Jeroboam.
Sɛdeɛ Awurade seɛ nie: ‘Nko ntia wʼabusuafoɔ. Sane wʼakyi kɔ efie, ɛfiri sɛ, me na memaa asɛm a asie no ho kwan!’” Enti, wɔtiee Awurade asɛm no, na wɔanko antia Yeroboam.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, —and built cities for defence, in Judah;
Rehoboam tenaa Yerusalem, na ɔbɔɔ nkuro ahodoɔ ho ban, maa Yuda yɛɛ den.
6 yea he built Bethlehem and Etam, and Tekoa;
Ɔkyekyeree Betlehem, Etam, Tekoa,
7 and Beth-zur and Soco, and Adullam;
Bet-Sur, Soko, Adulam,
8 and Gath and Mareshah, and Ziph;
Gat, Maresa, Sif,
9 and Adoraim and Lachish, and Azekah;
Adoraim, Lakis, Aseka,
10 and Zorah, and Aijalon and Hebron, which are in Judah and Benjamin, —as fortified cities.
Sora, Ayalon ne Hebron. Yeinom ne nkuro a wɔbɔɔ ho ban wɔ Yuda ne Benyamin.
11 And he strengthened the fortified places, —and put therein captains, and stores of food, and oil and wine;
Rehoboam yeree wɔn banbɔ mu, na ɔde asahene duaduaa hɔ. Ɔkoraa nnuane, ngo ne nsã wɔ kuropɔn biara so.
12 and, in every several city, shields and spears, and made them exceedingly strong, —thus Judah and Benjamin remained his.
Ɔde akokyɛm ne mpea siee wɔ saa nkuro yi mu, de hyɛɛ wɔn banbɔ mu den. Enti, Yuda ne Benyamin nko ara na wɔbɛhyɛɛ nʼase.
13 And, the priests and Levites that were in all Israel, took their stand with him, out of all their boundaries.
Asɔfoɔ ne Lewifoɔ a na wɔne Israel atifi fam mmusuakuo te no kɔɔ Rehoboam afa.
14 For the Levites left their pasture lands, and their possessions, and came to Judah, and to Jerusalem, —for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, from ministering as priests unto Yahweh;
Na Lewifoɔ no mpo gyaa wɔn afie ne wɔn agyapadeɛ kɔɔ Yuda ne Yerusalem, ɛfiri sɛ, Yeroboam ne ne mmammarima amma wɔn kwan ansom Awurade sɛ asɔfoɔ.
15 and appointed for himself priests for the high places, and for the demons—and for the calves which he had made.
Yeroboam yii nʼankasa asɔfoɔ, ma wɔsomm abosonsomfoɔ asɔreeɛ so a na wɔsom abirekyie ne nantwie mma ahoni a na wɔayɛ.
16 And, after them—out of all the tribes of Israel, such as were setting their heart to seek Yahweh God of Israel, came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto Yahweh, God of their fathers.
Israelman mu nyinaa, wɔn a na wɔpɛ sɛ wɔsom Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn no dii Lewifoɔ no akyi kɔɔ Yerusalem baabi a wɔbɛtumi de ayɛyɛdeɛ ama Awurade, wɔn agyanom Onyankopɔn no.
17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and emboldened Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, —for they walked in the way of David and Solomon, for three years.
Yei maa Yuda ahennie nyaa ahoɔden, na wɔde mfeɛ mmiɛnsa boaa Salomo babarima Rehoboam, na wɔhwehwɛɛ Awurade nokorɛm, sɛdeɛ wɔyɛɛ wɔ Dawid ne Salomo ahennie mu no.
18 And Rehoboam took him to wife, Mahalath, daughter of Jerimoth, son of David, —and Abihail, daughter of Eliab, son of Jesse;
Rehoboam waree Mahalat. Na ɔyɛ Dawid babarima Yerimot babaa. Na ɔyɛ Abihail a ɔyɛ Yisai babarima Eliab babaa nso.
19 and she bare him sons, —Jeush and Shamariah and Zaham.
Mahalat woo mmammarima baasa a wɔne Yeus, Semaria ne Saham.
20 And, after her, he took Maacah, daughter of Absolom, —and she bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Akyire no, ɔwaree Absalom babaa Maaka. Maaka woo Abia, Atai, Sisa ne Selomit.
21 And Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absolom, above all his wives and his concubines, for, eighteen wives, took he, and sixty concubines, —and begat twenty-eight sons, and sixty daughters.
22 So then Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as head, to be chief ruler among his brethren, —yea that he might make him king.
Rehoboam sii Maaka babarima Abia ahenemmahene maa ɛdaa adi pefee sɛ daakye, ɔno na ɔbɛdi nʼadeɛ sɛ ɔhene.
23 So he took heed, and dispersed all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, unto all the fortified cities, and gave them food in abundance, —and asked a multitude of wives.
Bio, Rehoboam faa nyansakwan so de dwumadie hyehyɛɛ ne mmammarima a wɔaka no nsa, de wɔn tuatuaa nkuro a wɔabɔ ho ban, wɔ nsase no nyinaa so. Ɔmaa wɔn wɔn ahiadeɛ nyinaa, hyehyɛɛ awadeɛ bebree maa wɔn mu biara.
