< 2 Chronicles 11 >

1 And when Rehoboam had entered Jerusalem, he called together the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, warriors, —to fight against Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
Awo Lekobowaamu bwe yatuuka mu Yerusaalemi, n’akuŋŋaanya ennyumba ya Yuda n’eya Benyamini, bonna nga bawera abasajja abalwanyi emitwalo kkumi na munaana, bagende balwanyise Isirayiri, obwakabaka babuddize Lekobowaamu.
2 Then came the word of Yahweh, unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying:
Naye ekigambo kya Mukama ne kijjira Semaaya omusajja wa Katonda nti,
3 Speak unto Rehoboam son of Solomon, king of Judah, —and unto all Israel in Judah and in Benjamin, saying:
“Gamba Lekobowaamu mutabani wa Sulemaani kabaka wa Yuda, n’Abayisirayiri bonna abali mu Yuda ne Benyamini nti,
4 Thus, saith Yahweh, Ye shall not go up neither shall ye fight against your brethren, return every man to his own house, for, from me, hath this thing been brought about. So they hearkened unto the words of Yahweh, and turned back from going against Jeroboam.
Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama, ‘Temulumba baganda bammwe. Buli omu ku mmwe addeyo ewuwe, kubanga kino kivudde gye ndi.’” Awo ne bagondera ekigambo kya Mukama, ne baddayo, ne batagenda kulumba Yerobowaamu.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, —and built cities for defence, in Judah;
Lekobowaamu n’abeera mu Yerusaalemi, n’azimba ebibuga eby’okwerinda mu Yuda:
6 yea he built Bethlehem and Etam, and Tekoa;
n’azimba Besirekemu, ne Etamu, ne Tekowa,
7 and Beth-zur and Soco, and Adullam;
ne Besuzuli, ne Soko, ne Adulamu,
8 and Gath and Mareshah, and Ziph;
ne Gaasi, ne Malesa, ne Zifu,
9 and Adoraim and Lachish, and Azekah;
ne Adorayimu, ne Lakisi, ne Azeka,
10 and Zorah, and Aijalon and Hebron, which are in Judah and Benjamin, —as fortified cities.
ne Zola, ne Ayalooni, ne Kebbulooni nga bye bibuga ebiriko bbugwe ebyali mu Yuda ne Benyamini.
11 And he strengthened the fortified places, —and put therein captains, and stores of food, and oil and wine;
N’anyweza bbugwe waabyo, n’ateekayo abaduumizi, n’emmere ey’okwerinzisa n’amafuta ag’omuzeeyituuni ne wayini.
12 and, in every several city, shields and spears, and made them exceedingly strong, —thus Judah and Benjamin remained his.
N’ateekayo engabo n’amafumu mu bibuga byonna, n’abinywereza ddala, Yuda ne Benyamini ne biba bibye.
13 And, the priests and Levites that were in all Israel, took their stand with him, out of all their boundaries.
Bakabona n’Abaleevi okuva mu Isirayiri yonna ne bakkiriziganya naye.
14 For the Levites left their pasture lands, and their possessions, and came to Judah, and to Jerusalem, —for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, from ministering as priests unto Yahweh;
Abaleevi ne bava mu butaka bwabwe ne baleka n’eby’obugagga bwabwe ne bajja mu Yuda ne Yerusaalemi, kubanga Yerobowaamu ne batabani be babagobaganya era ne babagaana okuweereza Mukama mu bwakabaka bwabwe,
15 and appointed for himself priests for the high places, and for the demons—and for the calves which he had made.
nga balonda bakabona abaabwe okuweerezanga ku bifo ebigulumivu, ne bakatonda baabwe ab’ebifaananyi eby’embuzi n’ente, bye yali abumbye.
16 And, after them—out of all the tribes of Israel, such as were setting their heart to seek Yahweh God of Israel, came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto Yahweh, God of their fathers.
N’abo bonna abaali beewaddeyo mu mitima gyabwe okunoonya Mukama Katonda wa Isirayiri ne bagenda n’Abaleevi e Yerusaalemi okuwaayo ssaddaaka eri Mukama Katonda wa bajjajjaabwe.
17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and emboldened Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, —for they walked in the way of David and Solomon, for three years.
Ne banyweza obwakabaka bwa Yuda, era ne bawagira Lekobowaamu mutabani wa Sulemaani okumala emyaka esatu, nga batambulira mu kkubo lya Dawudi ne Sulemaani.
18 And Rehoboam took him to wife, Mahalath, daughter of Jerimoth, son of David, —and Abihail, daughter of Eliab, son of Jesse;
Lekobowaamu n’awasa Makalasi muwala wa Yerimosi mutabani wa Dawudi, ne Abikayiri muwala wa Eriyaabu mutabani wa Yese,
19 and she bare him sons, —Jeush and Shamariah and Zaham.
Makalasi n’azaalira Lekobowaamu abaana aboobulenzi: Yewusi, ne Semaliya ne Zakamu.
20 And, after her, he took Maacah, daughter of Absolom, —and she bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Oluvannyuma Lekobowaamu n’awasa Maaka muwala wa Abusaalomu, n’amuzaalira Abiya, ne Attayi, ne Ziza ne Seromisi.
21 And Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absolom, above all his wives and his concubines, for, eighteen wives, took he, and sixty concubines, —and begat twenty-eight sons, and sixty daughters.
Lekobowaamu n’ayagala nnyo Maaka muwala wa Abusaalomu okusinga bakazi be abalala. Bonna awamu n’awasa abakazi kkumi na munaana n’afunayo n’abalala nkaaga, abaamuzaalira abaana aboobulenzi amakumi abiri mu munaana n’abaana aboobuwala nkaaga.
22 So then Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as head, to be chief ruler among his brethren, —yea that he might make him king.
Lekobowaamu n’alonda Abiya mutabani wa Maaka okuba omukulu wa baganda be, ng’agenderera okumufuula kabaka.
23 So he took heed, and dispersed all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, unto all the fortified cities, and gave them food in abundance, —and asked a multitude of wives.
N’akola eky’amagezi, n’asaasaanya batabani be abamu mu masaza ag’enjawulo aga Yuda ne Benyamini, ne mu bibuga byonna ebyaliko bbugwe, n’abawa eby’obugagga bingi, n’abafunira n’abakazi bangi.
