1 Samuel 8
1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he appointed his sons judges to Israel;
ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ವೃದ್ಧನಾದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರರನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
2 and the name of his firstborn son was, Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah, —they were judges in Beer-sheba.
ಅವನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಮಗನ ಹೆಸರು ಯೋಯೇಲ್, ಅವನ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಮಗನ ಹೆಸರು ಅಬೀಯ. ಇವರು ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬದಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
3 Howbeit his sons walked not in his ways, but stooped to extortion, —and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯದೆ, ಅಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಹಣ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿ, ಲಂಚವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
4 So then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, —and came unto Samuel, to Ramah;
ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ,
5 and said unto him—Lo! thou, art old, and, thy sons, walk not in thy ways: Now, appoint for us a king to judge us, like all the nations.
“ನೀನು ವೃದ್ಧನಾದೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಎಲ್ಲ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ನಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸು,” ಎಂದರು.
6 But the thing was displeasing in the eyes of Samuel, when they said, Give unto us a king to judge us. So Samuel prayed unto Yahweh.
“ನಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸು,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು. ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಿದನು.
7 And Yahweh said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people, in all that they shall say unto thee, —for, not thee, have they rejected, but, me, have they rejected, from being king over them.
ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ಜನರು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನೇ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
8 According to all the doings which they have done, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt, even until this day, in that they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so, are they doing even unto thee.
ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ ದಿನವು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಈ ದಿನದವರೆಗೂ ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ, ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿನಗೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
9 Now, therefore, hearken to their voice, —save that thou, enter protest, against them, and tell them the manner of the king who will reign over them.
ಈಗ ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳು. ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ಅರಸನ ಅಧಿಕಾರವು ಎಂಥದ್ದೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸು,” ಎಂದನು.
10 So then Samuel spake all the words of Yahweh unto the people, who were asking of him, a king.
ಆಗ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
11 And he said, This, will be the manner of the king who will reign over you, —Your sons, will he take and appoint for himself, as his charioteers and as his horsemen, and they shall run before his chariots;
ಅವನು, “ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ಅರಸನ ಅಧಿಕಾರವು ಏನೆಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪುತ್ರರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ರಥಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಾರಥಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಕುದುರೆ ಸವಾರರನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಕೆಲವರು ಅವನ ರಥಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡುವರು.
12 and he will appoint for himself, princes of thousands, and princes of fifties, —and to plough his fields, and to reap his harvest, and to make his weapons of war, and the instruments of his chariots;
ಅವನು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ಐವತ್ತು ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ, ತನ್ನ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಊಳುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಪೈರನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಗು ತನ್ನ ರಥಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ನೇಮಿಸುವನು.
13 And, your daughters, will he take, —as perfumers and as cooks, and as bakers;
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರನ್ನು ತೈಲಗಾರ್ತಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ, ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಸುಡುವವರಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
14 And, your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, the best of them, will he take, and give to his servants;
ಅವನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೊಲಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಓಲಿವ್ ಮರದ ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವನು.
15 And, your seed, and your vineyards, will he tithe, and give to his courtiers and to his servants;
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧಾನ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ ಫಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹತ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೂ ಕೊಡುವನು.
16 And, your men-servants, and your maidservants, and your oxen, even the goodliest, and your asses, will he take, —and put them to his work;
ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸರನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರಾಯಸ್ಥರನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಇಡುವನು.
17 Your flocks, will he tithe, —and, ye yourselves, shall become his servants.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕುರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ನೀವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ದಾಸರಾಗುವಿರಿ.
18 Then will ye make outcry, in that day, because of your king whom ye have chosen for yourselves, —and Yahweh will not answer you, in that day.
ನೀವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗುವಿರಿ, ಆದರೆ ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
19 But the people refused to hearken unto the voice of Samuel, —and they said—Nay! but, a king, shall be over us:
ಆದರೂ ಜನರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅವರು, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನು ಇರಬೇಕು.
20 so shall, even we, become like all the nations, —and our king shall judge us, and go forth before us, and fight our battles.
ನಾವು ಸಕಲ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನು ನಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವನು. ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊರಟು, ನಮ್ಮ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವನು,” ಎಂದರು.
21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, —and spake them in the ears of Yahweh.
ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಜನರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
22 And Yahweh said unto Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel: Go ye, every man to his own city.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸಮುಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸು,” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಸಮುಯೇಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
