< 1 Samuel 31 >
1 Now, as, the Philistines, were fighting against Israel, the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell slain, in Mount Gilboa.

2 And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons, —and the Philistines smote Jonathan and Abinadab and Malchishua, sons of Saul.
Bato ya Filisitia balandaki Saulo elongo na bana na ye ya mibali, kasi babomaki bana na ye ya mibali: Jonatan, Abinadabi mpe Maliki-Shuwa.
3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers discovered him, —and he was terrified at the archers.
Bongo bitumba ekomaki mpo na koboma Saulo. Tango basoda oyo babundaka na matolotolo bamonaki Saulo, ye Saulo alengaki na somo.
4 Then said Saul to his armour-bearer—Draw thy sword and pierce me through therewith, lest these uncircumcised come, and pierce me through, and abuse me. But his armour-bearer was not willing, for he was sore afraid. So Saul took his sword and fell thereon.
Saulo alobaki na soda oyo amemaki bibundeli na ye: « Bimisa mopanga na yo na ebombelo na yango mpe boma ngai, noki te bato oyo bakatama ngenga te bakoya kotuba ngai mpe kosakanela ngai. » Kasi soda oyo amemaki bibundeli na ye aboyaki, pamba te azalaki kobanga. Bongo Saulo akamataki mopanga na ye mpe amibwakaki na likolo na yango.
5 And, when his armour-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also, fell upon his sword, and died with him.
Tango soda oyo amemaki bibundeli na ye amonaki ete Saulo akufi, ye mpe amibwakaki na likolo ya mopanga na ye mpe akufaki elongo na Saulo.
6 Thus died Saul, and his three sons, and his armour-bearer, yea all his men, on that day, together.
Ezalaki bongo nde Saulo, bana na ye misato ya mibali, soda oyo azalaki komema bibundeli na ye mpe basoda na ye nyonso bakufaki bango nyonso elongo mokolo wana.
7 And, when the men of Israel who were across the vale, and who were across the Jordan, saw that the men of Israel had fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook the cities, and fled, and the Philistines entered, and took up their abode therein.
Tango bato ya Isalaele, oyo bazalaki na ngambo mosusu ya lubwaku mpe ba-oyo bazalaki na ngambo mosusu ya Yordani bamonaki ete mampinga ya Isalaele esili kopanzana, mpe ete Saulo mpe bana na ye ya mibali bakufi, basundolaki bingumba na bango mpe bakimaki. Bato ya Filisitia bayaki kovanda na bingumba yango.
8 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul, and his three sons, lying prostrate in Mount Gilboa.
Na mokolo oyo elendaki, tango bato ya Filisitia bayaki mpo na kolongola biloko oyo ezalaki na banzoto ya bibembe, bamonaki Saulo mpe bana na ye misato ya mibali oyo bakufaki na ngomba Giliboa.
9 So they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, —and sent throughout the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the house of their idols, and unto the people.
Bakataki moto ya Saulo, bazwaki bibundeli na ye mpe batindaki bato na mokili mobimba ya bato ya Filisitia mpo ete bapanza sango malamu oyo ya elonga kati na tempelo ya banzambe na bango ya bikeko mpe kati na bato na bango.
10 And they put his armour in a house of Ashtoreths, —and, his dead body, fastened they on the wall of Beth-shan.
Batiaki bibundeli ya Saulo kati na tempelo ya banzambe na bango ya bikeko, Asitarite, mpe badiembikaki nzoto na ye na mir ya Beti-Sheani.
11 And, when the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead heard concerning him, what the Philistines had done unto Saul,
Tango bavandi ya Yabeshi kati na Galadi bayokaki makambo oyo bato ya Filisitia basalaki Saulo,
12 then arose all the men of valour, and journeyed all the night, and took the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, from the wall of Beth-shan, —and came to Jabesh, and burned them there;
bilombe na bango nyonso batelemaki mpe batambolaki butu mobimba mpo na kokoma na Beti-Sheani. Bongo sima na bango kokitisa bibembe ya Saulo mpe ya bana na ye ya mibali wuta na mir, bazongaki na Yabeshi epai wapi batumbaki yango.
13 and took their bones, and buried them under the tamarisk-tree in Jabesh, —and fasted seven days.
Bazwaki mikuwa na bango, bakundaki yango na Yabeshi, na se ya nzete ya tamarisi, mpe bakilaki bilei mikolo sambo.
