1 Samuel 30
1 And it came to pass, when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, that, the Amalekites, had made a raid into the South, and into Ziklag, and had smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
௧தாவீதும் அவனுடைய மனிதர்களும் மூன்றாம் நாளிலே, சிக்லாகுக்கு வந்து சேருவதற்குள்ளே, அமலேக்கியர்கள் தென்புறத்துச் சீமையின்மேலும் சிக்லாகின்மேலும் விழுந்து, சிக்லாகைக் கொள்ளையடித்து, அதை அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்து,
2 and had taken captive the women and all who were therein, from small even unto great, they had not put one to death, —but had driven them forth, and gone their way.
௨அதிலிருந்த பெண்களையும், சிறியவர்களையும் பெரியவர்களையும் சிறைபிடித்து, ஒருவரையும் கொன்றுபோடாமல், அவர்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, தங்களுடைய வழியே போய்விட்டார்கள்.
3 So, when David and his men came to the city, lo! it was burnt with fire, —and, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, had been taken captive.
௩தாவீதும் அவனுடைய மனிதர்களும் அந்தப் பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, இதோ, அது அக்கினியினால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட்டது என்றும், தங்களுடைய மனைவிகளும் தங்களுடைய மகன்களும் தங்களுடைய மகள்களும் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்கள் என்றும் கண்டார்கள்.
4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice, and wept, —until they had no more strength to weep.
௪அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் அவனோடு இருந்த மக்களும் அழுகிறதற்குத் தங்களில் பெலனில்லாமல் போகும் வரை சத்தமிட்டு அழுதார்கள்.
5 And, the two wives of David, had been taken captive, —Ahinoam, the Jezreelitess, and Abigail, wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
௫தாவீதின் இரண்டு மனைவிகளாகிய யெஸ்ரயேல் ஊராளான அகினோவாமும், கர்மேல் ஊராளான நாபாலின் மனைவியாக இருந்த அபிகாயிலும், சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்கள்.
6 And David was in sore distress, for the people had spoken of stoning him, because the souls of all the people were embittered, every man for his own sons and for his own daughters, —but David emboldened himself in Yahweh his God.
௬தாவீது மிகவும் நெருக்கப்பட்டான்; எல்லா மக்களும் தங்கள் மகன்கள், மகள்களினிமித்தம் மனவருத்தமானதால், அவனைக் கல்லெறியவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்; தாவீது தன்னுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குள்ளே தன்னைத் திடப்படுத்திக்கொண்டான்.
7 Then said David to Abiathar the priest, son of Ahimelech, Do bring near me, I pray thee, the ephod. So Abiathar brought near the ephod, unto David.
௭தாவீது அகிமெலேக்கின் மகனான அபியத்தார் என்னும் ஆசாரியனை நோக்கி: ஏபோத்தை என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவா என்றான்; அபியத்தார் ஏபோத்தைத் தாவீதினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தான்.
8 And David enquired of Yahweh, saying, Shall I pursue this troop? shall I overtake it? And he said unto him: Pursue, for thou shalt, overtake, and thou shalt, rescue.
௮தாவீது யெகோவாவை நோக்கி: நான் அந்தப் படையைப் பின்தொடரவேண்டுமா? அதைப் பிடிப்பேனா? என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவர்: அதைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து போ; அதை நீ பிடித்து, எல்லாவற்றையும் திருப்பிக்கொள்வாய் என்றார்.
9 So David went, he, and the six hundred men, who were with him, and they came in as far as the ravine of Besor, —where, they who had to be left behind, stayed.
௯அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் அவனோடு இருந்த 600 பேரும் போனார்கள்; அவர்கள் பேசோர் ஆற்றின் அருகில் வந்தபோது அங்கே சிலர் நின்றுபோனார்கள்.
10 But David pursued, he. and four hundred men, —but the two hundred men stayed, because they were too wearied to cross over the ravine of Besor.
௧0தாவீதோ, 400 பேரோடுத் தொடர்ந்து போனான்; 200 பேர் களைத்துப்போனபடியால் பேசோர் ஆற்றைக் கடக்கமுடியாமல் நின்றுபோனார்கள்.
11 And they found an Egyptian in the field, and took him unto David, —and gave him food, and he did eat, and they gave him water to drink;
௧௧ஒரு எகிப்தியனை வெளியில் அவர்கள் கண்டு, அவனைத் தாவீதினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, சாப்பிட அவனுக்கு அப்பமும் குடிக்கத் தண்ணீரும் கொடுத்து,
12 and they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two cakes of raisins, and, when he had eaten, his spirit came back unto him, —for he had neither eaten food, nor drunk water, three days and three nights.
௧௨அத்திப்பழ அடையின் ஒரு துண்டையும், உலர்ந்த இரண்டு திராட்சைப்பழக் குலைகளையும் அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்; அதை அவன் சாப்பிட்டபின்பு, அவனுடைய உயிர் திரும்ப அவனுக்குள் வந்தது. அவன் இரவு பகல் மூன்று நாளாக அப்பம் சாப்பிடாமலும் தண்ணீர் குடிக்காமலும் இருந்தான்.
13 Then David said to him—Whose art thou? and whence art thou? And he said, A young man of Egypt, am I, servant to an Amalekite, and my lord left me behind, because I fell sick, three days ago.
௧௩தாவீது அவனை நோக்கி: நீ யாருடையவன்? நீ எந்த இடத்தை சேர்ந்தவன் என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அவன்: நான் ஒரு அமலேக்கியனுடைய வேலைக்காரனாகிய எகிப்து தேசத்துப் வாலிபன்; மூன்று நாளைக்குமுன்பு நான் வியாதிப்பட்டபோது, என்னுடைய எஜமான் என்னைக் கைவிட்டான்.
14 As for us, we invaded the South of the Cherithites, and against that which pertaineth unto Judah, and against the South of Caleb, —and, Ziklag, burned we with fire.
௧௪நாங்கள் கிரேத்தியருடைய தென்புறத்தின்மேலும், யூதாவைச்சார்ந்த எல்லையின்மேலும், காலேபுடைய தென்புறத்தின்மேலும், படையெடுத்துப்போய் சிக்லாகை அக்கினியினால் சுட்டெரித்துப் போட்டோம் என்றான்.
15 And David said unto him, Wilt thou bring me down unto this troop? And he said—Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt not put me to death, neither wilt thou surrender me into the hand of my lord, and I will bring thee down unto this troop.
௧௫தாவீது அவனை பார்த்து: நீ என்னை அந்த படையினிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோவாயா என்று கேட்டதற்கு: அவன், நீர் என்னைக் கொன்றுபோடுவதுமில்லை, என்னை என்னுடைய எஜமான் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பதுமில்லை என்று தேவன்மேல் ஆணையிடுவீரானால், உம்மை அந்தத் படையினிடத்திற்குக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோவேன் என்றான்.
16 So he brought him down, and lo! they were left to themselves over the face of all the land, —eating, and drinking, and dancing around, for all the great spoil which they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
௧௬இவன் அவனைக் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டபோது, இதோ, அவர்கள் வெளியெங்கும் பரவி, சாப்பிட்டுக் குடித்து, தாங்கள் பெலிஸ்தர்கள் தேசத்திலும் யூதாதேசத்திலும் கொள்ளையிட்டு வந்த மகா பெரிதான அந்த எல்லாக் கொள்ளைக்காகவும் ஆடிப்பாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
17 And David smote them, from the closing twilight even unto the evening of the next day, —and there escaped not of them a man, save four hundred young men who rode upon camels, and fled.
௧௭அவர்களைத் தாவீது அன்று மாலைதொடங்கி மறுநாள் மாலை வரை முறியடித்தான்; ஒட்டகங்கள் மேல் ஏறி ஓடிப்போன 400 வாலிபர்கள் தவிர, அவர்களில் வேறொருவரும் தப்பவில்லை.
18 And David rescued all whom the Amalekites had taken, —his two wives also, did David rescue;
௧௮அமலேக்கியர்கள் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோன எல்லாவற்றையும், தன்னுடைய இரண்டு மனைவிகளையும், தாவீது விடுவித்தான்.
19 and there was nothing missing to them—whether small or great, whether spoil, or sons or daughters, or, any thing which they had taken unto themselves, —the whole, did David recover.
௧௯அவர்கள் கொள்ளையடித்துக்கொண்டுபோன எல்லாவற்றிலும், சிறியதிலும், பெரியதிலும், மகன்களிலும், மகள்களிலும், ஒன்றும் குறையாமல் எல்லாவற்றையும் தாவீது திருப்பிக்கொண்டான்.
20 And David took all the flocks and the herds, —they drave them before those other cattle, and they said, This, is David’s spoil.
௨0எல்லா ஆடுமாடுகளையும் தாவீது பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்; அவைகளைத் தங்கள் மிருகஜீவன்களுக்கு முன்னாலே ஓட்டி, இது தாவீதின் கொள்ளை என்றார்கள்.
21 And David came unto the two hundred men, who had been too wearied to follow David, and whom they had suffered to remain at the ravine of Besor, —and they came forth to meet David, and to meet the people who were with him, and when David came near unto the people, they enquired of his success.
௨௧களைத்துப்போனதால் தாவீதுக்குப் பின்னே செல்லாமல், பேசோர் ஆற்றண்டையிலே தங்கியிருந்த 200 பேரிடம் தாவீது வருகிறபோது, இவர்கள் தாவீதுக்கும் அவனோடிருந்த மக்களிடத்திற்கும் எதிர்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; தாவீது அந்த மக்களிடத்தில் சேர்ந்து, அவர்கள் சுகசெய்தியை விசாரித்தான்.
22 Then responded every man who was bad and abandoned, from among the men who had been with David, and said—Because they went not with me there shall not be given them of the spoil that we have rescued, —save, to every man, his wife and his children, let them put them forth, then, and go.
௨௨அப்பொழுது தாவீதோடு நடந்து வந்த மனிதர்களில் துன்மார்க்கர்களும், பயனற்ற மக்களுமான எல்லோரும்: அவர்கள் எங்களோடே வராதபடியால் நாங்கள் திருப்பிக்கொண்ட கொள்ளையுடமைகளில் அவர்களுக்கு ஒன்றும் கொடுப்பதில்லை; அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன்தன் மனைவியையும் தன்தன் பிள்ளைகளையுமே அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகட்டும் என்றார்கள்.
23 Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, —with that which Yahweh hath given to us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the troop that came against us into our hand.
௨௩அதற்குத் தாவீது: என்னுடைய சகோதரர்களே, யெகோவா நமக்கு கொடுத்ததை நீங்கள் இப்படிச் செய்யவேண்டாம்; யெகோவா நம்மைக் காப்பாற்றி, நமக்கு விரோதமாக வந்திருந்த அந்தப் படையை நம்முடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
24 Who indeed, could hearken unto you, in this mutter? Surely, like the share of him that went down into the battle, even, so, shall be the share of him that remained by the stores—alike, shall they share.
௨௪இந்தக் காரியத்தில் உங்கள் சொல் கேட்க யார் சம்மதிப்பான்? யுத்தத்திற்குப் போனவர்களின் பங்கு எவ்வளவோ, அந்த அளவில் பொருட்களின் அருகே இருந்தவர்களுக்கும் பங்கு கிடைக்கவேண்டும்; சரிபங்காகப் பங்கிடுவார்களாக என்றான்.
25 And so it came to pass, from that day forward, that he appointed it, for a statute and for a custom unto Israel, until this day.
௨௫அப்படியே அந்தநாள்முதல் நடந்து வருகிறது; அதை இஸ்ரவேலிலே இந்த நாள் வரைக்கும் இருக்கும் கட்டளையும் ஆணையுமாக ஏற்படுத்தினான்.
26 And, when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil, unto the elders of Judah, unto his friends, saying, —Lo! for you, a blessing, out of the spoil of the enemies of Yahweh:
௨௬தாவீது சிக்லாகுக்கு வந்தபோது, அவன் கொள்ளையடித்தவைகளிலே தன்னுடைய நண்பர்களாகிய யூதாவின் மூப்பர்களுக்குச் சிலவற்றை அனுப்பி: இதோ, யெகோவாவுடைய எதிரிகளின் கொள்ளையில் உங்களுக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கும் ஆசீர்வாதபாகம் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.
27 to them who were in Bethel, and to them who were in Ramoth of the South, and to them who were in Jattir,
௨௭யார் யாருக்கு அனுப்பினான் என்றால், பெத்தேலில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், தெற்கான ராமோத்தில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், யாத்தீரில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும்,
28 and to them who were in Aroer, and to them who were in Siphmoth, and to them who were in Eshtemoa,
௨௮ஆரோவேரில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், சிப்மோத்தில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், எஸ்தேமோகாவில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும்,
29 and to them who were in Racal, and to them who were in the cities of the Jerameelites, and to them who were in the cities of the Kenites,
௨௯ராக்காலில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், யெராமியேலியர்களின் பட்டணங்களில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், கேனியர்களின் பட்டணங்களில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும்,
30 and to them who were in Hormah, and to them who were in Cor-ashan, and to them who were in Athach,
௩0ஓர்மாவில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், கொராசானில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், ஆற்றாகில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும்,
31 and to them who were in Hebron, —and to all the places where David had been to and fro, he and his men.
௩௧எப்ரோனில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும், தாவீதும் அவனுடைய மனிதர்களும் நடமாடின எல்லா இடங்களில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் அனுப்பினான்.
