1 Samuel 3

1 Now, the boy Samuel, was ministering unto Yahweh, before Eli, —and, the word of Yahweh, had become rare in those days, there was no well-known vision.

Ahora bien, el joven Samuel era el siervo del Señor delante de Elí. En aquellos días, el Señor mantuvo su palabra en secreto a los hombres; No había una revelación abierta.

2 But it came to pass, at that time, when Eli was lying down in his place, his eyes, having begun to be dim, he could not see,

Paso el tiempo y Eli se estaba quedando ciego, Elí estaba descansando en su habitación,

3 though, the lamp of God, was not yet to be put out, and, Samuel, was lying down in the temple of Yahweh, where was the ark of God,

Y la luz de Dios todavía ardía, mientras Samuel dormía en el Templo del Señor, donde estaba el cofre del pacto de Dios.

4 that Yahweh called unto Samuel, and he said—Behold me!

Él Señor llamó a Samuel. Y él dijo: Heme aquí.

5 So he ran unto Eli and said—Behold me! for thou calledst me. And he said—I called not, return—Its down. So he went, and lie down.

Y corriendo a Elí, dijo: Heme aquí, porque dijiste mi nombre. Y dijo Elí: No dije tu nombre; Vuelve a tu descanso otra vez. Así que volvió a su cama.

6 And again Yahweh called once there—Samuel! Then rose Samuel, and went unto Eli, and said—Behold me! for thou calledst me. And he said—I called not, my son, return—lie down.

Y otra vez el Señor dijo: Samuel. Entonces Samuel se levantó, fue a ver a Elí y le dijo: Heme aquí; Porque ciertamente has dicho mi nombre. Pero él respondió: Yo no dije nada, hijo mío; Vuelve a tu descanso otra vez.

7 Now, Samuel, as yet knew not Yahweh, —nor, as yet, had been revealed unto him, the word of Yahweh.

En aquel tiempo, Samuel no conocía al Señor, y la revelación de la palabra del Señor no había venido a él.

8 And again Yahweh called—Samuel! a third time. Then he arose, and went unto Eli, and said—Behold me! for thou calledst me. Then did Eli perceive, that, Yahweh, was calling the boy.

Y por tercera vez el Señor dijo el nombre de Samuel, y él se levantó y fue a ver a Elí, y dijo: Heme aquí; Porque ciertamente has dicho mi nombre. Entonces quedó claro para Eli que la voz que había dicho el nombre del niño era la del Señor.

9 So Eli said to Samuel—Go, lie down, and it shall be, if he call unto thee, that thou shalt say—Speak, Yahweh, for thy servant is listening. And Samuel went, and lay down in his place.

Entonces Elí le dijo a Samuel: Regresa: y si vuelve la voz, deja que tu respuesta sea: Habla, Señor; porque tu siervo escucha. Entonces Samuel volvió a su cama.

10 Then came Yahweh, and stood, and called as time after time—Samuel! Samuel! And Samuel said, Speak, for thy servant is listening.

Entonces el Señor vino y dijo como antes: Samuel, Samuel. Entonces Samuel respondió: Habla, Señor; porque tu siervo escucha.

11 And Yahweh said unto Samuel, Lo! I am doing a thing, in Israel, —at which both ears of everyone that heareth it shall tingle.

Y el SEÑOR dijo a Samuel: Mira, haré algo en Israel, en el cual los oídos les dolerán a todos los que lo oigan.

12 In that day, will I confirm against Eli, all that I have spoken against his house, —beginning and finishing.

En ese día le haré a Elí todo lo que he dicho sobre su familia, desde el principio hasta el final.

13 Therefore do I tell him, that I am about to judge his house unto times age-abiding, for the iniquity which he knoweth, in that his sons are cursing God, and he hath not rebuked them.

Y le tienes que decir que enviaré castigo a su familia para siempre, por el pecado que él conoció; porque sus hijos han estado maldiciendo a Dios y él no los corregía.

14 And therefore have I sworn, respecting the house of Eli, —that the iniquity of the house of Eli shall receive no propitiatory-covering, by sacrifice or by present, unto times age-abiding.

Por tanto, he jurado a la familia de Elí que ninguna ofrenda de carne o de comida, jamás podrá expiar el pecado de su familia.

15 And Samuel lay until the morning, and rose early in the morning, and opened the doors of the house of Yahweh, —but, Samuel, feared to tell the appearing, unto Eli.

Y Samuel se mantuvo donde estaba, sin moverse hasta que llegó el momento de abrir las puertas de la casa de Dios por la mañana. Y el miedo le impedía darle a Eli una explicación de su visión.

16 So Eli called Samuel, and said—Samuel! my son. And he said—Behold me!

Entonces Elí dijo: Samuel, hijo mío. Y respondiendo Samuel, dijo: Heme aquí.

17 And he said—What is the word, which he spake unto thee? I pray thee, do not hide it from me. So, let God do to thee, and, so, let him add, if thou hide from me a word, out of anything which he hath spoken unto thee.

Y él dijo: ¿Qué te dijo él Señor? No me lo ocultes: que el castigo de Dios sea contigo si me ocultas cualquier cosa que él ha dicho.

18 So Samuel told him all the words, and hid nothing from him. And he said, Yahweh, he is; what is good in his own eyes, let him do.

Entonces Samuel le contó todo, sin guardar nada. Y él dijo: Es el Señor; Deja que haga lo que le parezca bien.

19 And Samuel grew, —and, Yahweh, proved to he with him, and let none of all his words fall to the ground.

Y Samuel se hizo más viejo, y el Señor estaba con él, y ninguna de sus palabras quedó sin efecto.

20 So all Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, came to know, —that Samuel had become confirmed as a prophet unto Yahweh.

Y fue claro para todo Israel desde Dan hasta Beerseba que Samuel había sido hecho profeta del Señor.

21 Thus did Yahweh again appear in Shiloh, —for Yahweh had revealed himself unto Samuel in Shiloh, in the word of Yahweh.

Y volvió aparecer él Señor en Silo; porque el Señor le dio a Samuel en Silo la revelación de su palabra.
