1 Samuel 3
1 Now, the boy Samuel, was ministering unto Yahweh, before Eli, —and, the word of Yahweh, had become rare in those days, there was no well-known vision.
૧બાળ શમુએલ એલીની પાસે રહીને ઈશ્વરની સેવા કરતો હતો. તે દિવસોમાં ઈશ્વરની વાણી દુર્લભ હતી; ત્યાં વારંવાર પ્રબોધકીય સંદર્શન થતાં નહોતા.
2 But it came to pass, at that time, when Eli was lying down in his place, his eyes, having begun to be dim, he could not see,
૨તે સમયે, જયારે એલીની, આંખોની દ્રષ્ટિ ઝાંખી થવાથી તે સારી રીતે જોઈ શકતો નહોતો, ત્યારે તે પોતાની પથારીમાં સૂતો હતો,
3 though, the lamp of God, was not yet to be put out, and, Samuel, was lying down in the temple of Yahweh, where was the ark of God,
૩ઈશ્વરનો દીવો હજી હોલવાયો ન હતો. ત્યારે શમુએલ ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં જે ઠેકાણે ઈશ્વરનો કોશ હતો ત્યાં ઊંઘતો હતો.
4 that Yahweh called unto Samuel, and he said—Behold me!
૪ઈશ્વરે શમુએલને હાંક મારી, તેણે જવાબ આપ્યો, “હું આ રહ્યો.”
5 So he ran unto Eli and said—Behold me! for thou calledst me. And he said—I called not, return—Its down. So he went, and lie down.
૫શમુએલે એલીની પાસે દોડી જઈને કહ્યું, “હું આ રહ્યો, કેમ કે તેં મને બોલાવ્યો.” એલીએ કહ્યું, “મેં તને બોલાવ્યો નથી; પાછો જઈને ઊંઘી જા.” જેથી શમુએલ જઈને ઊંઘી ગયો.
6 And again Yahweh called once there—Samuel! Then rose Samuel, and went unto Eli, and said—Behold me! for thou calledst me. And he said—I called not, my son, return—lie down.
૬ઈશ્વરે ફરીથી હાંક મારી, “શમુએલ.” ફરીથી શમુએલ ઊઠીને એલી પાસે ગયો અને કહ્યું, “હું આ રહ્યો, કેમ કે તેં મને બોલાવ્યો.” એલીએ જવાબ આપ્યો, “મેં તને નથી બોલાવ્યો, મારા દીકરા; પાછો જઈને ઊંઘી જા.”
7 Now, Samuel, as yet knew not Yahweh, —nor, as yet, had been revealed unto him, the word of Yahweh.
૭હવે શમુએલને હજી સુધી ઈશ્વરનો કોઈપણ પ્રકારનો પરિચય થયો નહોતો, ક્યારેય ઈશ્વરનો કોઈ સંદેશ તેને પ્રગટ થયો ન હતો.
8 And again Yahweh called—Samuel! a third time. Then he arose, and went unto Eli, and said—Behold me! for thou calledst me. Then did Eli perceive, that, Yahweh, was calling the boy.
૮ફરીથી ઈશ્વરે શમુએલને ત્રીજી વાર હાંક મારી. શમુએલ ઊઠીને એલી પાસે ગયો અને કહ્યું, “હું આ રહ્યો, કેમ કે તેં મને બોલાવ્યો.” પછી એલીને સમજાયું કે ઈશ્વર છોકરાંને બોલાવી રહ્યા છે.
9 So Eli said to Samuel—Go, lie down, and it shall be, if he call unto thee, that thou shalt say—Speak, Yahweh, for thy servant is listening. And Samuel went, and lay down in his place.
૯માટે એલીએ શમુએલને કહ્યું, “જઈને પાછો સૂઈ જા; જો તે તને ફરીથી બોલાવે, તો તારે કહેવું, ‘બોલો, ઈશ્વર, કેમ કે તમારો સેવક સાંભળે છે.’ જેથી શમુએલ ફરીથી પોતાની પથારીમાં જઈને ઊંઘી ગયો.
10 Then came Yahweh, and stood, and called as time after time—Samuel! Samuel! And Samuel said, Speak, for thy servant is listening.
૧૦ઈશ્વર આવીને ઊભા રહ્યા; પહેલાંની જેમ જ તેમણે અવાજ કર્યો, “શમુએલ, શમુએલ.” ત્યારે શમુએલે કહ્યું, “બોલો, કેમ કે તમારો સેવક સાંભળે છે.”
11 And Yahweh said unto Samuel, Lo! I am doing a thing, in Israel, —at which both ears of everyone that heareth it shall tingle.
૧૧ઈશ્વરે શમુએલને કહ્યું, “જો, હું ઇઝરાયલમાં એક એવું કાર્ય કરનાર છું કે તે વિષે જે સાંભળશે તેના બન્ને કાન કાંપશે.
12 In that day, will I confirm against Eli, all that I have spoken against his house, —beginning and finishing.
૧૨મેં એલીની વિરુદ્ધ તેના ઘર સંબંધી જે સઘળું કહ્યું છે તે બધું આરંભથી તે અંત સુધી, હું તે દિવસે પૂરું કરીશ.
13 Therefore do I tell him, that I am about to judge his house unto times age-abiding, for the iniquity which he knoweth, in that his sons are cursing God, and he hath not rebuked them.
૧૩મેં તેને કહ્યું હતું કે જે દુષ્ટતાની તેને ખબર છે તેને લીધે હું તેના ઘરનો ન્યાય સદાને માટે કરીશ, કારણ કે તેના દીકરાઓ પોતા પર શાપ લાવ્યા અને તેણે તેઓને અટકાવ્યા નહિ.
14 And therefore have I sworn, respecting the house of Eli, —that the iniquity of the house of Eli shall receive no propitiatory-covering, by sacrifice or by present, unto times age-abiding.
૧૪આ કારણ માટે એલીના ઘર વિષે મેં એવા સમ ખાધા છે કે એલીના ઘરની દુષ્ટતાનું પ્રાયશ્ચિત બલિદાનથી અથવા અર્પણથી કદાપિ થશે નહિ.”
15 And Samuel lay until the morning, and rose early in the morning, and opened the doors of the house of Yahweh, —but, Samuel, feared to tell the appearing, unto Eli.
૧૫શમુએલ સવાર સુધી ઊંઘી રહ્યો; પછી તેણે ઈશ્વરના ઘરનાં બારણાં ઉઘાડ્યાં. પણ શમુએલ એ સંદર્શન એલીને કહેતાં ગભરાયો.
16 So Eli called Samuel, and said—Samuel! my son. And he said—Behold me!
૧૬ત્યારે એલીએ શમુએલને હાંક મારી અને કહ્યું, “શમુએલ, મારા દીકરા.” શમુએલે કહ્યું, “હું આ રહ્યો.”
17 And he said—What is the word, which he spake unto thee? I pray thee, do not hide it from me. So, let God do to thee, and, so, let him add, if thou hide from me a word, out of anything which he hath spoken unto thee.
૧૭તેણે કહ્યું, “તેમણે તારી સાથે શી વાત કરી? કૃપા કરી તે મારાથી છુપાવી રાખીશ નહિ. તેમણે જે બધી વાતો તને કહી તેમાંથી કોઈપણ જો તું મારાથી છુપાવે તો ઈશ્વર એવું અને એ કરતાં પણ વધારે તને કરો.”
18 So Samuel told him all the words, and hid nothing from him. And he said, Yahweh, he is; what is good in his own eyes, let him do.
૧૮ત્યારે શમુએલે તેને સર્વ વાત કહી; તેનાથી તેણે કશું છુપાવ્યું નહિ. એલીએ કહ્યું, “તે ઈશ્વર છે. તેમની નજરમાં જે સારું લાગે તે તેઓ કરે.”
19 And Samuel grew, —and, Yahweh, proved to he with him, and let none of all his words fall to the ground.
૧૯શમુએલ મોટો થયો, ઈશ્વર તેની સાથે હતા અને ઈશ્વરે શમુએલના પ્રબોધકીય શબ્દોને નિષ્ફળ થવા દીધા નહિ.
20 So all Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, came to know, —that Samuel had become confirmed as a prophet unto Yahweh.
૨૦દાનથી તે બેરશેબા સુધીના સર્વ ઇઝરાયલીઓએ જાણ્યું કે શમુએલ ઈશ્વરના પ્રબોધક તરીકે નિમાયો છે.
21 Thus did Yahweh again appear in Shiloh, —for Yahweh had revealed himself unto Samuel in Shiloh, in the word of Yahweh.
૨૧ઈશ્વરે ફરીથી શીલોમાં તેને દર્શન આપ્યું, કેમ કે ઈશ્વર પોતાના વચન દ્વારા શીલોમાં શમુએલને પોતાનું દર્શન આપતા રહેતા હતા.
