1 Samuel 28
1 And it came to pass, in those days, when the Philistines gathered together their hosts for war, to fight with Israel, that Achish said unto David, Thou must, know, that, with me, shalt thou go forth in the host, thou and thy men.
En aquellos días, los filisteos reunieron sus fuerzas para hacer la guerra a Israel. Y Aquis dijo a David: Ciertamente, tú y tus hombres saldrán conmigo a la lucha.
2 And David said unto Achish, Therefore, now, shalt thou know what thy servant can do. And Achish said unto David, Therefore, keeper of my head, will I appoint thee, all the days.
Y David dijo a Aquis: Ahora verás lo que hará tu siervo. Y Aquis dijo a David: Entonces te haré parte de mi guardia personal para siempre.
3 Now, Samuel, was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city, —Saul, moreover had put away them who had familiar spirits and them who were oracles, out of the land.
Ahora Samuel estaba muerto, y todo Israel, después de llorar por él, enterraron su cuerpo en Ramá, su ciudad. Y Saúl había expulsado de la tierra todos los adivinos, hechiceros y los que se comunicaban con los muertos.
4 So then the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came in, and encamped in Shunem, —and Saul gathered together all Israel, and they encamped in Gilboa.
Y los filisteos se reunieron y pusieron sus fuerzas en posición en Sunem; y Saúl reunió a todo Israel y tomaron sus posiciones en Gilboa.
5 And, when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled exceedingly.
Y cuando Saúl vio al ejército filisteo, se turbó, y su corazón fue dominado por él miedo.
6 Then Saul enquired of Yahweh, but Yahweh answered him not, —neither by Dreams, nor by the Lights, nor by prophets.
Y cuando Saúl buscaba direcciones al Señor, el Señor no le respondió, ni por un sueño ni por el Urim ni por los profetas.
7 Then said Saul unto his servants—Seek me out a woman that owneth a familiar spirit, that I may even go unto her, and enquire of her. And his servants said unto him, Lo! there is a woman that owneth a familiar spirit in En-dor.
Entonces Saúl dijo a sus siervos: Consígame una mujer que tenga el control de un espíritu para que pueda ir a ella y obtener instrucciones. Y sus criados le dijeron: Hay una mujer así en En-dor.
8 Saul therefore disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and departed—he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night, —and he said—Divine for me, I pray thee, by the familiar spirit, and bring up for me—whomsoever I shall name unto thee.
Entonces Saúl, que se cambió de ropa, para que no se le viera como rey, tomó a dos hombres con él y fue a ver a la mujer por la noche; Y él dijo: Ahora, con la ayuda del espíritu que tienes, haz que aparezca la persona cuyo nombre yo te daré.
9 And the woman said unto him—Lo! thou, knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off them who have familiar spirits and him who is an oracle, out of the land, —wherefore, then, art thou striking at my life, to put me to death?
Y la mujer le dijo: Pero tienes conocimiento de lo que Saúl ha hecho, cómo ha sacado de la tierra a los adivinos, hechiceros y los que invocan a los muertos. ¿por qué, por un truco, me pones en peligro de muerte?
10 So then Saul sware unto her by Yahweh, saying, —By the life of Yahweh, there shall no punishment befall thee for this thing.
Y Saúl le hizo un juramento por parte del Señor, diciendo: Por el Señor viviente, ningún castigo te llegará por esto.
11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up for thee? And he said, Samuel, bring thou up for me.
Entonces la mujer dijo: ¿A Quién quieres que haga venir? Y él dijo: Haz que Samuel venga.
12 And, when the woman saw Samuel, she made outcry with a loud voice, —and the woman spake unto Saul, saying—Wherefore hast thou deceived me, thou thyself being Saul?
Y la mujer vio a Samuel, y ella dio un fuerte grito, y le dijo a Saúl: ¿Por qué has usado el engaño? porque tú eres Saúl.
13 And the king said unto her—Be not afraid, but what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, A god, saw I, coming up out of the earth.
Y el rey le dijo: No temas -¿qué ves? Y la mujer le dijo a Saúl. Veo a un dios que sale de la tierra.
14 And he said to her—What was his form? And she said—An old man, coming up, he being wrapped about with a robe. Then Saul knew, that it was, Samuel, so he inclined his face to the earth, and bowed himself down.
Y él le dijo: ¿Cuál es su forma? Y ella dijo: Es un anciano que viene cubierto con una túnica. Y Saúl vio que era Samuel, y con su rostro inclinado hacia la tierra, le dio honor.
15 And Samuel said unto Saul, Wherefore hast thou disquieted me, by bringing me up? And Saul said—I am in sore distress, for, the Philistines, are making war against me, and, God, hath turned away from me, and answereth me no more—either by means of the prophets, or by dreams, therefore have I even called for thee, to let me know, what I am to do.
Entonces Samuel dijo a Saúl: ¿Por qué me has hecho subir, y me has molestado? Y Saúl, en respuesta, dijo: Estoy en gran peligro; porque los filisteos me están haciendo la guerra, y Dios se ha alejado de mí y ya no me responde, ni por los profetas ni por los sueños. Por eso te he llamado para que me aclares lo que debo hacer.
16 Then said Samuel, Wherefore, then, shouldst thou ask me, —when, Yahweh, hath turned away from thee, and hath come to be with thy neighbour?
Entonces Samuel dijo: ¿Por qué me preguntas a mí, ya que Dios se ha alejado de ti y está del lado de quien está en contra tuya?
17 Therefore hath Yahweh done for him, as he spake by me, —yea Yahweh hath rent the kingdom out of thy hand, and given it to a neighbour of thine—to David.
Y el Señor mismo ha hecho lo que él dijo por medio de mí: el Señor tomó el reino de tus manos y se lo dio a tu prójimo David;
18 As thou didst not hearken unto the voice of Yahweh, neither didst execute the glow of his anger upon Amalek, therefore, this thing, hath Yahweh done unto thee this day;
Porque no hiciste lo que el Señor dijo, y no le hiciste efecto a su ira ardiente contra Amalec. Así que el Señor te ha hecho esto hoy.
19 that Yahweh may deliver, Israel also, with thee, into the hand of the Philistines, and, to-morrow, thou and thy sons with thee are about to fall, —the host of Israel also, will Yahweh deliver, into the hand of the Philistines.
Y más que esto, el Señor entregará a Israel contigo en manos de los filisteos. Mañana tú y tus hijos estarán conmigo y el Señor entregará el ejército de Israel en manos de los filisteos.
20 Then Saul hastened, and fell prostrate—the whole length of him—to the earth, and was sore afraid, at the words of Samuel, and indeed, no, strength, was left in him, for he had not eaten food all the day and all the night.
Entonces Saúl se desmayó y se cayó de largo en el suelo y se llenó de temor a causa de las palabras de Samuel, y no tuvo fuerzas en él, porque no había comido nada durante todo el día ni toda la noche.
21 And the woman came unto Saul, and, when she saw that he was greatly terrified, she said unto him—Lo! thy handmaid hearkened unto thy voice, and I put my life into my hand, and heard thy words which thou didst speak unto me.
Y la mujer vino a Saúl y vio que él estaba en un gran problema, y le dijo: Mira, tu sierva ha escuchado tus palabras, y he puesto mi vida en peligro al hacer lo que dijiste.
22 Now, therefore, I pray thee, hearken, thou also, unto the voice of thy handmaid, and let me set before thee a morsel of food, and eat thou, —that there may be in thee strength, when thou goest on thy journey.
Ahora, escucha la voz de tu sierva, y déjame darte un poco de pan y toma algo de comida para darte fuerza cuando sigas tu camino.
23 But he refused, and said—I will not eat. But, when his servants, and the woman also, strongly urged him, then hearkened he unto their voice, —and rose up from the earth, and sat on the bed.
Pero él no quiso, diciendo: No deseo comer. Pero sus siervos, junto con la mujer, lo hicieron comer, y les dio paso. Entonces se levantó de la tierra y se sentó en la cama.
24 Now, the woman, had a calf fattening, in the shed. So she hastened, and sacrificed it, —and took meal, and kneaded, and baked thereof, unleavened cakes;
Y la mujer tenía en la casa un ternero engordado; y ella lo mató de inmediato; y ella tomó la comida y la mezcló e hizo pan sin levadura;
25 and brought near before Saul and before his servants, and they did eat. Then rose they up and departed, the same night.
Y ella lo puso delante de Saúl y sus siervos, y comieron. Luego se levantaron y se fueron esa misma noche.
