1 Samuel 2
1 Then prayed Hannah, and said, My heart hath leaped for joy in Yahweh, My horn is exalted in Yahweh, My mouth is opened wide, o’er my foes, Because I rejoice in thy salvation.
E Ana orou e disse: Meu coração se regozija no SENHOR, Meu poder é exaltado no SENHOR; Minha boca fala triunfante sobre meus inimigos, Porquanto me alegrei em tua salvação.
2 There is none holy like Yahweh, Nay! there, is none, except Thee, Nor, is, there a rock, like our God.
Não há santo como o SENHOR: Porque não há ninguém além de ti; E não há refúgio como o nosso Deus.
3 Do not multiply words, so loftily—loftily, Nor let arrogance proceed from your mouth, —For, a GOD of knowledge, is Yahweh, And, for himself, are great doings made firm.
Não faleis tantas coisas soberbas; Cessem as palavras arrogantes de vossa boca; Porque o Deus de todo conhecimento é o SENHOR, E a ele cabe pesar as ações.
4 The bow of the mighty, is dismayed, —While, the fainting, are girded with strength;
Os arcos dos fortes foram quebrados, E os fracos se cingiram de força.
5 The sated, have, for bread, taken hire, But, the famished, have left off their toil, —So that, the barren, hath given birth unto seven, While, she that hath many sons, languisheth:
Os fartos se alugaram por pão: E cessaram os famintos; até a estéril deu à luz sete, e a que tinha muitos filhos se enfraqueceu.
O SENHOR mata e dá vida; ele faz descer ao Xeol, e faz [de lá] subir. (Sheol h7585)
7 Yahweh, maketh poor, and enricheth, —Layeth low, yea exalteth;
O SENHOR empobrece e enriquece; abate e exalta.
8 Raiseth, from the dust, the poor, From the dunghill, uplifteth the needy, To give them a dwelling with nobles, And, a throne of glory, to make them inherit. For, to Yahweh, belong the pillars of the earth, And he setteth thereon the habitable world.
Ele levanta do pó ao pobre, e ao necessitado ergue do esterco, para assentá-lo com os príncipes; e faz que tenham por propriedade assento de honra; porque do SENHOR são os alicerces da terra, e assentou o mundo sobre eles.
9 The feet of his loving ones, he doth guard, But, the lawless, in darkness shall be silent, —For, by strength, shall no man prevail.
Ele guarda os pés de seus santos, Mas os ímpios perecem em trevas; Porque ninguém será forte por sua força.
10 As for Yahweh, —they shall be shattered who contend with him, Over him, in the heavens will he thunder, Yahweh, will judge the ends of the earth, —That he may give strength to his King, And exalt the horn of his Anointed One.
Diante do SENHOR serão quebrantados seus adversários, E sobre eles trovejará desde os céus: o SENHOR julgará os termos da terra, E dará força a seu Rei, E exaltará o poder de seu ungido.
11 Then went Elkanah to Ramah, unto his own house, —but, the boy, remained ministering unto Yahweh, before Eli the priest.
E Elcana se voltou a sua casa em Ramá; e o menino ministrava ao SENHOR diante do sacerdote Eli.
12 Now, the sons of Eli, were abandoned men, —they knew not Yahweh.
Mas os filhos de Eli eram homens ímpios, e não tinham conhecimento do SENHOR.
13 And, the custom of the priests with the people, was—when any man offered a sacrifice, then would come the priests young man, as the flesh was boiling, with a three-pronged fork in his hand;
E o costume dos sacerdotes com o povo era que, quando alguém oferecia sacrifício, vinha o criado do sacerdote enquanto a carne estava a cozer, trazendo em sua mão um garfo de três ganchos;
14 and would strike it into the boiler, or into the trough, or into the kettle, or into the pot, all that the fork would bring up, the priest took for himself. Thus and thus, used they to do unto all Israel, who came thither, in Shiloh.
E enfiava com ele na caldeira, ou na caçarola, ou no caldeirão, ou no pote; e tudo o que tirava o garfo, o sacerdote o tomava para si. Desta maneira faziam a todo israelita que vinha a Siló.
15 Also, before any could make perfume with the fat, the priests young man would come in and say to the person who was sacrificing, Come! give flesh for the priest’s roastings, —for he will not take of thee boiled flesh—only raw.
Também, antes de queimar a gordura, vinha o criado do sacerdote, e dizia ao que sacrificava: Da carne que asse para o sacerdote; porque não tomará de ti carne cozida, mas sim crua.
16 And, if the man said to him, Let them at least, make incense, at once with the fat, then take thou as much as thy soul craveth, Then said he to him, But, at once, shalt thou give it; or else, I will take it by force.
E se lhe respondia o homem, Queimem logo a gordura hoje, e depois toma tanta quanto quiseres; ele respondia: Não, mas sim agora a darás: de outra maneira eu a tomarei por força.
17 And so it was, that, the sin of the young men, was exceeding great, before Yahweh, —for men scorned the offerings of Yahweh.
Era, pois, o pecado dos moços muito grande diante do SENHOR; porque os homens menosprezavam os sacrifícios do SENHOR.
18 But, as for Samuel, he was ministering before Yahweh, —a boy girded with an ephod of linen.
E o jovem Samuel ministrava diante do SENHOR, vestido de um éfode de linho.
19 Also, a little robe, used his mother to make for him, and bring it up to him, from year to year, —when she came up with her husband, to offer the sacrifice of the year.
E fazia-lhe sua mãe uma túnica pequena, e a trazia a ele a cada ano, quando subia com seu marido a oferecer o sacrifício costumeiro.
20 And Eli used to bless Elkanah and his wife, and to say—Yahweh give thee seed of this woman, instead of the loan that hath been lent unto Yahweh. So they went their way to his own place.
E Eli abençoou Elcana e a sua mulher, dizendo: “O SENHOR te dê descendência desta mulher por causa dessa petição que ela fez ao SENHOR.” E voltaram para sua casa.
21 And Yahweh visited Hannah, and she conceived, and bare three sons, and two daughters. Thus did the boy Samuel grow up with Yahweh.
E o SENHOR visitou a Ana, e ela concebeu, e deu à luz três filhos e duas filhas. E o jovem Samuel crescia diante do SENHOR.
22 Now, Eli, was very old, —but he used to hear all that his sons did unto all Israel, and how they even lay with the women who did service, at the opening of the tent of meeting.
Eli, porém, era muito velho, e ouviu tudo o que seus filhos faziam a todo Israel, e como se deitavam com as mulheres que serviam à porta do tabernáculo do testemunho.
23 So he said to them, Wherefore should ye do such things as these? for I keep hearing of your wicked doings, from all these people.
E disse-lhes: “Por que fazeis essas coisas? Pois eu ouço de todo este povo os vossos maus atos.
24 Nay, my sons! for it is no good report that I do hear: leading into transgression the people of Yahweh.
Não, meus filhos; pois não é boa a fama que eu ouço, que fazeis pecar ao povo do SENHOR.
25 If one man sin against another, God will interpose, but, if, against Yahweh, a man sin, who will intercede, for him? But they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, for Yahweh was pleased to put them to death.
Se o homem pecar contra o homem, os juízes o julgarão; mas, se alguém pecar contra o SENHOR, quem rogará por ele?” Porém eles não ouviram a voz de seu pai, porque o SENHOR queria matá-los.
26 But, the boy Samuel, went on growing in stature, and in favour, —both with Yahweh, and also with men.
E o jovem Samuel ia crescendo e sendo bem estimando diante de Deus e diante das pessoas.
27 And there came a man of God, unto Eli, —and said unto him—Thus, saith Yahweh, I, did indeed reveal myself, unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt, as servants unto the house of Pharaoh;
E veio um homem de Deus a Eli, e disse-lhe: “Assim diz o SENHOR: ‘Acaso não me manifestei à casa do teu pai, quando estavam no Egito, na casa de Faraó?
28 choosing him out of all the tribes of Israel unto myself, to minister as priest, to offer upon mine altar, to perfume with incense to bear an ephod before me, —Therefore gave I unto the house of thy father all the altar-flames of the sons of Israel.
E eu o escolhi para ser o meu sacerdote dentre todas as tribos de Israel, para que oferecesse sobre o meu altar, e queimasse incenso, e para que vestisse o éfode diante de mim; e dei à casa do teu pai todas as ofertas dos filhos de Israel.
29 Wherefore have ye been kicking at my sacrifices, and my presents, which I commanded, to serve for a home, —and shouldest have honoured thy sons more than me: fattening yourselves, with the first of every present of Israel, before me?
Por que pisaste os meus sacrifícios e as minhas ofertas, que eu mandei oferecer no tabernáculo? E por que honraste aos teus filhos mais que a mim, para vos engordardes do principal de todas as ofertas do meu povo Israel?’
30 Hence, the oracle of Yahweh God of Israel, I, said, that, thy house, and the house of thy father, should go to and fro in my presence, unto times age-abiding: But, now, (is the oracle of Yahweh)—Be it far from me! For, them who honour me, will I honour, but, they who despise me, shall be lightly esteemed.
Por isso, o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, diz: ‘Eu havia dito que a tua casa e a casa de teu pai andariam diante de mim perpetuamente;’ mas agora diz o SENHOR: ‘Longe de mim tal coisa, porque eu honrarei aos que me honram, e os que me desprezam serão rejeitados.
31 Lo! days are coming, when I will hew off thine arm, and the arm of the house of thy father, —that there shall be no elder in thy house;
Eis que vêm dias em que cortarei o teu braço, e o braço da casa de teu pai, para que não haja idoso em tua casa.
32 But thou shalt descry distress at home, in all that shall gladden Israel, —and there shall not be an elder in thine own house, all the days.
E verás competidor no tabernáculo, em todas as coisas em que fizer bem a Israel; e em nenhum tempo haverá idoso em tua casa.
33 But, any man of thine whom I may not cut off from mine altar, it shall be—to consume his eyes, and grieve his soul; Howbeit, all the multitude of thy house, shall die, by the sword of men.
E não te cortarei de todo homem de meu altar, para fazer-te consumir os teus olhos, e encher teu ânimo de dor; mas toda a descendência de tua casa morrerá no princípio da fase adulta.
34 And, this, for thee is the sign, which shall come upon thy two sons, upon Hophni and Phinehas, —In one day, shall they, both of them, die;
E te será por sinal isto que acontecerá a teus dois filhos, Hofni e Fineias: ambos morrerão em um dia.
35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, According to that which is in my heart and in my soul, will he do; Therefore will I build for him an assured house, and he shall go to and fro in presence of mine Anointed, all the days.
E eu suscitarei para mim um sacerdote fiel, que faça conforme o meu coração e a minha alma; e eu lhe edificarei casa firme, e andará diante de meu ungido todos os dias.
36 And it shall be, that, any that is left in thy house, shall come bowing down to him for a small coin of silver, and for a cake of bread, and shall say: Appoint me, I pray thee, to one of the priestly offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.
E será que o que houver restado em tua casa, virá a prostrar-se-lhe por um dinheiro de prata e um bocado de pão, dizendo-lhe: Rogo-te que me constituas em algum ministério, para que coma um bocado de pão.
