1 Samuel 2
1 Then prayed Hannah, and said, My heart hath leaped for joy in Yahweh, My horn is exalted in Yahweh, My mouth is opened wide, o’er my foes, Because I rejoice in thy salvation.
੧ਹੰਨਾਹ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਗਨ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿੰਗ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੋਈ।
2 There is none holy like Yahweh, Nay! there, is none, except Thee, Nor, is, there a rock, like our God.
੨ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੋਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਰਗੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ।
3 Do not multiply words, so loftily—loftily, Nor let arrogance proceed from your mouth, —For, a GOD of knowledge, is Yahweh, And, for himself, are great doings made firm.
੩ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਨਾ ਆਖ, ਅਤੇ ਆਕੜ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਨਾ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤਾਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
4 The bow of the mighty, is dismayed, —While, the fainting, are girded with strength;
੪ਸੂਰਬੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਠੇਡੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੱਕ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਸੇ ਗਏ।
5 The sated, have, for bread, taken hire, But, the famished, have left off their toil, —So that, the barren, hath given birth unto seven, While, she that hath many sons, languisheth:
੫ਉਹ ਜੋ ਰੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ, ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਜੋ ਬੇ-ਔਲਾਦ ਸਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਤ ਜੰਮੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਲ ਬੱਚੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਪੈ ਗਈ।
੬ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹੋ ਹੀ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ। (Sheol h7585)
7 Yahweh, maketh poor, and enricheth, —Layeth low, yea exalteth;
੭ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੀ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
8 Raiseth, from the dust, the poor, From the dunghill, uplifteth the needy, To give them a dwelling with nobles, And, a throne of glory, to make them inherit. For, to Yahweh, belong the pillars of the earth, And he setteth thereon the habitable world.
੮ਗਰੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਚੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਰੂੜ੍ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਵੰਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਠਾਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦੀ ਗੱਦੀ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਬਣਾਵੇ। ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਥੰਮ੍ਹ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ।
9 The feet of his loving ones, he doth guard, But, the lawless, in darkness shall be silent, —For, by strength, shall no man prevail.
੯ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਚੁੱਪ-ਚੁਪੀਤੇ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੱਤਦਾ।
10 As for Yahweh, —they shall be shattered who contend with him, Over him, in the heavens will he thunder, Yahweh, will judge the ends of the earth, —That he may give strength to his King, And exalt the horn of his Anointed One.
੧੦ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਮਿਟਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਸਵਰਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੱਜੇਗਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
11 Then went Elkanah to Ramah, unto his own house, —but, the boy, remained ministering unto Yahweh, before Eli the priest.
੧੧ਤਦ ਅਲਕਾਨਾਹ ਰਾਮਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਾਲਕ ਏਲੀ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
12 Now, the sons of Eli, were abandoned men, —they knew not Yahweh.
੧੨ਹੁਣ ਏਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ।
13 And, the custom of the priests with the people, was—when any man offered a sacrifice, then would come the priests young man, as the flesh was boiling, with a three-pronged fork in his hand;
੧੩ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਇਹ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਜਕ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਮਾਸ ਪਕਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਇੱਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ
14 and would strike it into the boiler, or into the trough, or into the kettle, or into the pot, all that the fork would bring up, the priest took for himself. Thus and thus, used they to do unto all Israel, who came thither, in Shiloh.
੧੪ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਕੜਾਹੇ, ਦੇਕਚੇ, ਵਲਟੋਹੀ ਜਾਂ ਸਗਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਵੇ ਖੋਭਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲ ਨਾਲ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਸੋ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਆਪ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
15 Also, before any could make perfume with the fat, the priests young man would come in and say to the person who was sacrificing, Come! give flesh for the priest’s roastings, —for he will not take of thee boiled flesh—only raw.
੧੫ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਬੀ ਸੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਾਜਕ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੰਨਣ ਲਈ ਮਾਸ ਦੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਕੱਚਾ ਮਾਸ ਹੀ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
16 And, if the man said to him, Let them at least, make incense, at once with the fat, then take thou as much as thy soul craveth, Then said he to him, But, at once, shalt thou give it; or else, I will take it by force.
੧੬ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਆਖੇ ਕਿ ਅਜੇ ਉਸ ਚਰਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੜ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਫੇਰ ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੀ ਕਰੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਆਖਦਾ, ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਣੇ ਦੇਹ! ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਖੋਹ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ!
17 And so it was, that, the sin of the young men, was exceeding great, before Yahweh, —for men scorned the offerings of Yahweh.
੧੭ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ।
18 But, as for Samuel, he was ministering before Yahweh, —a boy girded with an ephod of linen.
੧੮ਪਰ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਜੋ ਬਾਲਕ ਸੀ, ਸੂਤੀ ਏਫ਼ੋਦ ਪਹਿਨ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
19 Also, a little robe, used his mother to make for him, and bring it up to him, from year to year, —when she came up with her husband, to offer the sacrifice of the year.
੧੯ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਿੱਕਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਚੋਗਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਲ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਲ ਭਰ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
20 And Eli used to bless Elkanah and his wife, and to say—Yahweh give thee seed of this woman, instead of the loan that hath been lent unto Yahweh. So they went their way to his own place.
੨੦ਸੋ ਏਲੀ ਨੇ ਅਲਕਾਨਾਹ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਤੋਂ, ਉਸ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗੀ ਸੀ ਅੰਸ ਦੇਵੇ। ਸੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਗਏ
21 And Yahweh visited Hannah, and she conceived, and bare three sons, and two daughters. Thus did the boy Samuel grow up with Yahweh.
੨੧ਫੇਰ ਹੰਨਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇ ਦੋ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਬਾਲਕ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਗਿਆ।
22 Now, Eli, was very old, —but he used to hear all that his sons did unto all Israel, and how they even lay with the women who did service, at the opening of the tent of meeting.
੨੨ਏਲੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਕੋਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
23 So he said to them, Wherefore should ye do such things as these? for I keep hearing of your wicked doings, from all these people.
੨੩ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ? ਕਿਉਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਬਦੀ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
24 Nay, my sons! for it is no good report that I do hear: leading into transgression the people of Yahweh.
੨੪ਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰੋ। ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਚੰਗੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣਦੇ ਹੋ।
25 If one man sin against another, God will interpose, but, if, against Yahweh, a man sin, who will intercede, for him? But they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, for Yahweh was pleased to put them to death.
੨੫ਜੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੂਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਨਿਆਈਂ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਾਰਸ਼ ਕੌਣ ਕਰੇਗਾ? ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
26 But, the boy Samuel, went on growing in stature, and in favour, —both with Yahweh, and also with men.
੨੬ਉਹ ਬਾਲਕ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਵਧਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਸੀ।
27 And there came a man of God, unto Eli, —and said unto him—Thus, saith Yahweh, I, did indeed reveal myself, unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt, as servants unto the house of Pharaoh;
੨੭ਤਦ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਏਲੀ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਉਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਲਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੀ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਪਰਗਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ?
28 choosing him out of all the tribes of Israel unto myself, to minister as priest, to offer upon mine altar, to perfume with incense to bear an ephod before me, —Therefore gave I unto the house of thy father all the altar-flames of the sons of Israel.
੨੮ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਗੋਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਬਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇ, ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਵੇ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਏਫ਼ੋਦ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ?
29 Wherefore have ye been kicking at my sacrifices, and my presents, which I commanded, to serve for a home, —and shouldest have honoured thy sons more than me: fattening yourselves, with the first of every present of Israel, before me?
੨੯ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਸ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੇਟ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਲਾਲਚ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ-ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਮੋਟੇ ਬਣੇ?
30 Hence, the oracle of Yahweh God of Israel, I, said, that, thy house, and the house of thy father, should go to and fro in my presence, unto times age-abiding: But, now, (is the oracle of Yahweh)—Be it far from me! For, them who honour me, will I honour, but, they who despise me, shall be lightly esteemed.
੩੦ਸੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਟੱਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਟੱਬਰ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰੇ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਸੋ ਤੁੱਛ ਸਮਝੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
31 Lo! days are coming, when I will hew off thine arm, and the arm of the house of thy father, —that there shall be no elder in thy house;
੩੧ਵੇਖ, ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
32 But thou shalt descry distress at home, in all that shall gladden Israel, —and there shall not be an elder in thine own house, all the days.
੩੨ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਤੂੰ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਵੇਖੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
33 But, any man of thine whom I may not cut off from mine altar, it shall be—to consume his eyes, and grieve his soul; Howbeit, all the multitude of thy house, shall die, by the sword of men.
੩੩ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਤੋਂ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾ ਖੋਵਾਂਗਾ, ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵੇਖਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਮਰ-ਖੱਪ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
34 And, this, for thee is the sign, which shall come upon thy two sons, upon Hophni and Phinehas, —In one day, shall they, both of them, die;
੩੪ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਹਾਫ਼ਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੀਨਹਾਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੀਤੇਗਾ ਸੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇੱਕੋ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, According to that which is in my heart and in my soul, will he do; Therefore will I build for him an assured house, and he shall go to and fro in presence of mine Anointed, all the days.
੩੫ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਧਰਮੀ ਜਾਜਕ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਕਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਭਿਸ਼ੇਕ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰੇਗਾ।
36 And it shall be, that, any that is left in thy house, shall come bowing down to him for a small coin of silver, and for a cake of bread, and shall say: Appoint me, I pray thee, to one of the priestly offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.
੩੬ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਚ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਟੁੱਕੜਾ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਟੁੱਕੜੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਖੇਗਾ, ਜਾਜਕਾਈ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਟੁੱਕੜਾ ਰੋਟੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇ।
